KSP Investigates Fatal House Fire in Estill County

    The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was called at approximately 6:51 a.m. EDT, on Saturday, May 23, 2015, in reference to a possible fatal house fire on Ann St. in Estill County.
    Estill County Fire Department located two people deceased in the residence. The cause of the fire and deaths are under investigation.
    The Kentucky State Police is asking anyone who observed any suspicious activity in the area or with any information to call (859) 623-2404 or toll free at (800) 222-5555.
    The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Arson Investigator Pat Alford. He was assisted at the scene by KSP Personnel,Irvine Fire Department,Irvine Police Department,Estill County Coroner’s Office, and State Fire MarshallOffice.

William Martin Montie, 67

    William Martin Montie, age 67, of Blackburn Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015, at the Compassionate Care Center following a long illness.
    He was born April 1, 1948 in Wyandotte, Michigan and was the son of the late Gilbert and Dorothy Egan Montie. He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the American Legion. He was a former employee of Kokoku and had lived in Estill County the past 21 years.
    He is survived by his wife: Janet Lynn Hymer Montie; two daugthers: Stacey Camden, Irvine; and Tammy Baldwin (Joe), Michigan; four sons: William Matthew Montie, Michigan; Richard Allen Montie (Tammy), North Carolina; Gilbert Martin Montie, LaGrange; and Steven Montie (Naomi), Richmond; one brother, Gil Montie, Virginia; 22 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
    Mr. Montie was preceded in death by one sister, Terri Montie; and one grandchild.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 25th at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Harry Rubble. Friends may call after 11 a.m., Monday, at the funeral home.

Beulah Woosley Harrison, 97

    Beulah Woosley Harrison, 97, widow of Elmer Lee Harrison, died Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Marcum and Wallace Memorial Hospital.
    She was a retired employee of Brown and Williams Tobacco Company, She was a homemaker, and member of the White Oak Church of God. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and loved going to church.
    Other than her husband, Elmer, she was preceded in death by her five brothers: Raymond Woosley, Fred Woosley, Francis Woosley, Damon Woosley, and James Clay Woosley; and two step-children: Betty Holbrook and David Holbrook.
    Survivors include her daughters, Loretta Stacy (Jerry), Charlotte Rachford, Nettie Wiseman (Eugene), and Ruby Webb(Kenneth); her sons: Dallas Harrison (Lyda), Darrell Harrison (Janet), and Lloyd Harrison (Pamela); 22 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 16 great, great grandchildren; three step-daughters: Judith Akers, Robin Woosley, and Linda Wiseman; one step-son Bona Holbrook; her brother, Allen Woosley Jr; and one sister, Della Mae Barnes.
    Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 25th at the White Oak Church of God, with Bro. Glendon Woosley officiating. Burial will follow in the Harrison Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 24th at the Lewis Funeral Home, and from 11:00 a.m. until service time, Monday, at the church.

Tammy Jo Harkins, 56

    Tammy Jo Harkins, age 56, of Broadway in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, following a long illness.
    She was born November 24, 1958 in Cincinnati, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Sylvia Birch McKenzie. She was a homemaker and attended the Rice Station Christian Church.
    Ms. Harkins is survived by four sons: Rodney Harkins (Billie Jo), Cincinnati, Ohio; Bradley Harkins (Charity), Joey Harkins (Amy), and Joshua Harkins, both of Irvine; one brother, Darrell McKenzie, Cincinnati, Ohio; and five grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 22nd at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m., Friday, at the funeral fome.

Irene Anglin McGlothen, 79

    Irene Anglin McGlothen, age 79, of Cow Creek Road in Ravenna, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at her home following a long illness.
    She was born September 26, 1935 in Madison County and was the daughter of the late Seab and Dovie Evans Anglin. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Lee McGlothen.
    Mrs. McGlothen is survived by six sons: Charles Donald McGlothen, Richmond; Bobby Dale McGlothen, Lexington; Ricky Lynn McGlothen (Trece), Georgetown; Michael Lee McGlothen (Debra), Woodford County; Mark Allen McGlothen (Cindy) and Anthony Glenn McGlothen (Anita), Lexington; one sister, Dora Richardson, Estill County; two brothers: Ronnie Anglin and Delmar Anglin, both of Richmond; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by three sisters: Helen Hamm, Marie Pearson, Aline McKinney and 1 brother, Boyd Anglin.
    Friends may call between 6 and 8 p.m., Saturday, May 23rd at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home.

Charles D. Robinson, 72

    Charles D. Robinson, age 72, of Eli Sparks Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at his home, following a long illness.
    He was born August 18, 1942 in Estill County and was the son of the late Donald and Edna Newman Robinson. He was a construction worker and had lived in Estill County most of his life.
    Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife, Anna Marie Tuggle Robinson; three daughters: Sherry Robinson, Michelle Hoover, and Tonja Miller, all of Estill County; one son: Shawn Robinson, Estill County; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by one son, Tony Robinson; and two grandchildren: Dustin Young and Tyler Miller.
    Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 23rd at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Alfred Webb. Burial was at the Robinson Cemetery. Friends called after 11 a.m., Saturday, at the Funeral Home.

Virginia Lee Donahue Cole, 72

    Virginia Lee Donahue Cole, 72, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at her home in Racine, Wisconsin after a short illness.
    She was born September 20, 1942, in Irvine, Kentucky, to the late John and Anna Staton Donahue.
    Ms. Cole was preceded in death by two brothers: Kenneth “Jaybird” Donahue and Harold Donahue; six half-brothers: Fred Farthing, Oliver Phoenix, Ernest Phoenix, Forest Ward “Happy” Donahue, James Harvey Donahue Sr., and Brown Willie Donahue; and two half-sisters: Willie Ruth Walton and Mary Frances Estes.
    Survivors include her significant other, Dennis Erickson or Racine, Wisconsin; one brother, Ray Farthing (Kay) of Hesperia, California; two daughters: Michaela Cole and Teresa Thacker (Hoy Van), both of Irvine; two grandsons: Michael Thacker and Jason Thacker, both of Irvine; a half-sister, Sarah Jewel Donahue Henry; and several nieces and nephews.
    Services will be held Friday, May 22nd at 6:00 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home with Bro. Beverly Arvin officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 2:00 p.m. until service time, Friday, at the funeral home.

    Minnie Isaacs Durham, age 72, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
    She was a native of Jackson County, born April 17, 1943, a daughter of the late Stanley and Gracie Moore Isaacs.
    Mrs. Durham was preceded in death by her grandson, Josh Durham; and her brother, Lloyd Isaacs.
    Survivors include her children: Charles Andrews (Jane), Johnny Collins (Retha), and Gracie Mae Ray; and her grandchildren: Duane Andrews (Sara), Jessica Henry (John), Jennifer Johnson (Timothy), Chris Stepp (Bethany), Jeremie Stepp, Josh Stepp (Kristin), Jennifer Atkins (Charlie), Jessica Collins, Kerri Collins, Chad Estes, Evon Estes, Britney Nicole Stamper, and Heather Ray Allen,

Floyd Cletus Harrison, 80

    Floyd Cletus Harrison, age 80, of Doe Creek Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015, at his home, following a long illness.
    He was born January 28, 1935 in Estill County, the son of the late Vernon and Rebecca Jane Rawlins Harrison. He retired as a machinist with Rockwell and had lived in Estill County all of his life. He was a member of the South Irvine Christian Church and of the Masonic Lodge.
    Mr. Harrison was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Betsy Kirby Harrison.
    He is survived by two daughters: Rebecca McGee-Parvin (Wayne) and Ginger Perkins (Steve), both of Irvine; one son, John Kim Harrison (Traci), Irvine; two sisters: Ruby Hunt (Harold), Irvine; and Leecita Powell, Ohio; two sisters-in-law: Judy Arvin (Butch) and Johnetta Whalen (Mike), both of Irvine; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters; and one great grandson, Trenton Blake Harrison.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 20th at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Glendon Mayes. Friends may call 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Masonic Rites will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Aleene Lail, 78

    Aleene Lail, age 78, died Friday, May 15, 2015 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.
    She was born in Paris, Kentucky, to the late William and Hazel Chandler Graves. Mrs. Lail was a charter member of the White Hall Baptist Church. Aleene loved her church family and was a very devoted grandmother and great grandmother. She retired from Deluxe Check Printers.
    Aleene is survived by two daughters: Angela Lynn White (David) of Irvine, and Jacqueline Kaye Anglin of Berea; two sisters: Peggy Price of Paris, Kentucky, and Ellen Power of North Middletown; three grandchildren: Samantha Shepherd of Richmond, Wendy White and Chad White, both of Irvine; and two great grandchildren: Ayden and Adyson Shepherd, both of Richmond.
    Memorial services will be 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 20th at the White Hall Baptist Church with the Rev. Timothy Beard officiating. There will not be any visitation.

    Robert Lee Tucker III, age 34, of Turpin Ridge Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, May 15, 2015, at the Baptist Health Lexington following a long illness.
    He was born March 23, 1981 in Madison County and was the son of Robert Lee Tucker Jr. He was a former Hardee’s employee and attended the Baptist Church in Berea.
    Mr. Tucker is survived by his father, Robert Lee Tucker Jr.; his grandmother, Nana Orlena Tucker, Estill County; and several aunts and uncles.
    Graveside services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 17th at the Tucker Cemetery by Bro. Beverly Arvin.

    Julia Centers, age 58, wife of Danny Centers of Kissey Branch in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at her residence with her family by her side.
    Born March 20, 1957 in Powell County, she was a housewife and a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness.
    Mrs. Centers is survived by her husband, Danny Centers of Irvine; two sons: Aaron Centers of Irvine and Barry Centers of Bardstown; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren; four brothers: Dale Mullins of Irvine, Garner Mullins of Stanton, Delbert Mullins of Stanton, and John Mullins of Houston, Texas; four sisters: Beverly Rose, Barbara Rogers, both of Irvine; Helen Pittman of Ocala, Florida; and Arlene Bellamy of Stanton.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Gertrude Mullins; two brothers: Kendall Mullins and Arnold Clay Mullins; and two sisters: Anna Blakey and Velda May Mullins.
    There was a memorial service on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness in Irvine.

    Gustava Richardson, age 72, of Barnes Mountain Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Hospital after a long illness.
    She was born July 19, 1942 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Jacob and Mandy Mae McKinney Estes. She was a homemaker and had lived in Estill County all of her life.
    Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Richardson.
    She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Sharon Brinegar, Estill County; four sons: Lewis Byron Richardson, Glenn Darron Richardson, James Myron Richardson, and Thomas Aaron Richardson, all of Estill County; three granddaughters and one grandson, two great granddaughters and three great grandsons, and several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by two sons: an infant son and Timothy Farron Richardson; and several brothers and sisters.
    Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 16th at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Beverly Arvin. Burial was at the Estes Cemetery. Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m., Friday, May 15th at the funeral home.

    Elmer Lee Conner, age 68, of Frames Branch Road in Clay City, Kentucky, passed away Monday, May 11, 2015.
    He was a retired employee of Southeast Coal Company.
    Mr. Conner is survived by one son, Gregory Conner of Arkansas; two daughters: Tamera Goodwin of Winchester, and Georgia Ledford (Jeff) of Stanton; eight grandchildren, one great grandchild; six brothers: Riley “Frank” Conner of Paris, Willie Conner of Spout Springs, David Conner of Lexington, Lawrence Conner of Paris, Elbert Conner of Alabama, and Paul Conner of Clay City; and four sisters: Betty Jean Jones of Paris, Virginia Atwood of North Middletown, Norma Brinegar and Lula Thomas, both of Clay City.
    Born July 31, 1946 in Powell County, he was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Edna Conner; and three brothers: John Conner, Earl Conner and Amos Conner Jr.
    Funeral Services were held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 16th at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel. Friends visited Friday, May 15th from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home Burial was in the Salem Cemetery.

    Chester Dale Harrison, age 54, died Saturday, May 9, 2015.
    He was a native of Estill County, born November 20, 1960, a son of the late Adam and Helen West Harrison. He was a construction worker and horse farm worker. Mr. Harrison was of the Christian Faith. He was a member of the American Legion Post 79, one of the members of the Sons of American Legion.
    Mr. Harrison was preceded in death by his sisters: Marelen Thomas and Mae Dawes.
    Survivors include his companion, Evelyn Henry; his son, Adam Wade Harrison; a step-son, Michael Henry; his daughters: Clarissa and April Harrison; his brothers: David Harrison (Joy), Wayne Harrison (Bonnie), Charlie Harrison (Rhonda); his sisters: Lucille Wiseman (Cebert), Lorene Gentry (Paul) , Linda Schooler, Janet Schooler (Rick), and Molly Berryman; five granddaughters; one grandson; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Gary Pike.
    Services were held Wednesday, May 13th at 2:00 p.m. at the Lewis Funeral Home with Bro. Glendon Woosley officiating. Burial followed in the White Oak Cemetery. Friends called any time after 11:00 a.m. until service time, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
    Pallbearers were Gary Pike, Kim Harrison, Bobby Gentry, Ed Tipton, Pleas McIntosh, and Bill Tucker.
    Honorary pallbearers were Paul Ray Thomas and Steve Rison.

    She was born September 7, 1988 in Lexington, Kentucky, and was the daughter of Odell Newton and Wanda Mae Estes. She was a homemaker and had lived in Estill County all of her life.
    Ms. Newton is survived by her father, Odell Newton; her mother, Wanda Mae Estes; her son, Kaden Joe Henry; and two sisters: Ella Mae Gordon and Crystal Gayle Taylor; all of Estill County.
    Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 15th at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Alfred Webb. Burial was at the Cane Springs Cemetery. Friends called after 10:30 a.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
