James William Sons, 86

James William Sons, age 86, of Walling Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020 at his home following a long illness.
He was born December 10, 1933 in Estill County to the late Albert Sons and Betty Ann Powell Sons. He was a retired truck driver and was a member of the White Oak Church of God. He was a United States Army veteran and served during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Sons is preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Dean Cole Sons.
He is survived by one daughter, Lisa Gail Sons (Cathy), Madison County; three sons: Larry Williams Sons (Donna),
Barry Williams Sons (Donalda), and Steve Sons (Jeannie), and Estill County; five grandchildren: Jennifer Richardson, Brittany Hunt, Christopher Sons, Tyler Sons, and Miranda Dowdy; and ten great grandchildren.
Mr. Sons is preceded in death by three sisters: Thelma Walling, Zona Pfeiffer and Virginia Powell.
Friends called between 6-9 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel. Private funeral services were held by Bro. Glendon Woosley and Bro. Scott Rogers.

Stephanie Gail Harrison VanWinkle, age 46, of Smith Lane in Berea, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital in Irvine.
She was born August 24, 1973 in Estill County and was the daughter of Joann Harrison and the late Whitey Harrison. She had lived in Estill County most of her life.
Survivors in addition to her mother include two sons: Travis Cooper, Irvine; and Justin VanWinkle, Berea; and one brother, Doug Harrison, Irvine.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Walter Reed “Walt” Morris, Jr., age 71, of Winchester Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Monday, May 18, 2020, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, following a long illness.
He was born July 22, 1948 in Bourbon County and was the son of the late Walter Reed and Lottie Bell Ginter Morris. He was retired from the United States Army and was also retired from the Fed-X Corporation. He was a member of the Ivory Hill Baptist Church, the American Legion and was a Kentucky Colonel.
Walt is survived by his wife, Boneva Bogie Morris; four daughters: Carla Arthur (Danny), Scott County; Angela Williams, Virginia; Beverly Kadle, Estill County; and Glenda Mack (Carl), Scott County; two sons: W.L. Morris, Ohio; and Brian Abney (Annie), Texas: two sisters: Barbara Kennon (Travis), Clark County; and Brenda Brooks (Donald), Estill County; eight grandchildren: Johnathan Arthur, Jessica Kadle, Peyton Morris, Preston Morris, Jessica Williams, John Williams, Kelly Williams and Sarah Williams; and several great grandchildren.
Private funeral services were conducted Friday, May 22, 2020 at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home by Bro. Michael Justice and Bro. Warren Rogers. Burial was at the Woods Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Danny Arthur, Johnathan Arthur, Glenn Bogie, Andy Wayman, Travis Brooks, Brian Brooks and Gabriel Brooks.
Honorary pallbearers were Wesley Brooks, Tori Brooks, Donald Brooks, Travis Kennon and Gregory Pell.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Rev. Roscoe (Ross) Conley, age 62, pastor of the New Life Apostolic Church in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday afternoon, May 16, 2020.
Rev. Conley was born in Frankfurt, Germany on April 12, 1958, and was preceded in death by his mother and father, Chester and Roberta. He was a member of The United Pentecostal Church International. In addition, he retired from the Trane Company in Lexington. He dearly loved his family, his church family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Melissa Cummins Conley; two brothers: Chester Mullins (Debbie) and Gary Mullins (Tammy); and his sister, Chastina Causey; as well as a host of other relatives and dear friends.
A private visitation and funeral will be held with Rev. Bill McGraw officiating. A public livestream of the service can be viewed on the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home's website at 11:00 Friday, May 22, 2020. Rev. Conley will be laid to rest in the Richmond Cemetery.

Noomie Sue Harper, age 72, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020.
She was born September 22, 1947 in Irvine, Kentucky, to Paul and Marie Centers. She was retired from A. O. Smith.
Noomie is survived by her husband, Roy Harper of Clay City; a son, Aaron Harper of Clay City; a daughter, Paula Harper of Clay City; and three grandchildren: Ashley Justice, Kasey Creech and Ayden Harper.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 18, 2020 with Bro. George Sparks officiating. Burial was in the Rest Haven Cemetery.

Regina Gail Flinchum Hughes, wife of Michael Dewayne Hughes of Booneville, Kentucky, was born in Irvine, Kentucky on October 12, 1971 and departed this life at her home in Booneville on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at the age of 48 years, 7 months, and 4 days.
In addition to her husband, Regina is survived by her mother, Kathy Bryant Dunaway; her father, Virgil Dunaway; one son, Justin Hughes (Celena); one daughter, Kayla Hughes; three grandchildren, Collin Hughes, Gavin Underwood, and Allison Underwood, all of Beattyville; one sister, Michelle Dunaway of Winchester; one brother, David Dunaway (Bertha) of Beattyville; a special nephew, David Lee Dunaway and wife Brooke of Irvine; nieces and nephew, August and Ashley Dunaway and Courtney Griffin (Cody); and a host of other relatives and friends.
Regina was preceded in death by her grandmother, Izez Brandenburg and a very special nephew, Kyle Dunaway.
Private graveside services will be held at the Inez Cemetery, Dunaway Road, in Beattyville.

Cebert Wiseman, age 80, of Winchester Road, Irvine, Kentucky, husband of Lucille Wiseman for 60 years, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020 at Baptist Health Lexington.
He was a native of Estill County, born July 20,1939, the son of the late Vernon Wiseman and Mary Alice Walling Wiseman. Cebert was a retired construction worker. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors besides his wife, Lucille, include one son, one daughter; three grandsons, two granddaughters, two great grandsons, two great granddaughters, two great, great grandsons; one brother; and many friends.
Memorials were private.

Rebecca Marie Jewell, age 37, of Old Town Branch Road in Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Friday, May 8, 2020, at the Compassionate Care Center, following a long illness.
She was born September 14, 1982 in Fayette County and was the daughter of George Kenneth Rogers Jr. and Mary Carol Davidson Rogers. She was a United States Army veteran and member of the Sentinels Veterans Club. She had lived in Estill County most of her life.
Survivors, in addition to her father and mother, include her husband, Joshua Alan Jewell; three daughters: Janae, Jasmine and Jemma Jewell; three sons: Jacob Jewell, Clint Collins, Jr. and Peyton Ashley; three sisters: Tammie Smith, Lisa Collier, both of Estill County; and Carol Rogers, Madison County; and one brother, George Kenneth Rogers, III, Fayette County.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Joey Rogers.
Graveside services were conducted Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at the West Irvine Cemetery by Bro. Michael Wingo.

Barbara Rogers, age 68, of Irvine, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 16, 2020.
She was born July 13, 1951 in Powell County to James and Gertrude Mullins. She was a member of the Church of God and was a housewife.
Mrs. Rogers is survived by her husband of 49 years, Danny Rogers of Irvine; two sons, James Rogers of Irvine and Mark Rogers (Christie) of Richmond; three grandchildren: Morgan Rogers of Irvine, Drew Cremeens of Richmond, and Hayden Cremeens of Australia; four brothers: John Mullins of Texas, Delbert Mullins (Bonnie) of Stanton, Elmer Dale Mullins (Sylvia) of Irvine, and Garner Mullins of Stanton; and three sisters: Hellen Pittman of Florida, Arlene Bellamy (Kelly) of Stanton, and Beverly Rose (Ken) of Irvine.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Gertrude Mullins; two brothers, Kendall Mullins and Arnold Mullins; and three sisters, Anna Lee Blakey, Julie Centers and an infant sister, Velda May Mullins.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 18, 2020 with Bro. Francis Plaisance officiating. Burial was in the Cobb Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Thacker, Bobby Rogers, Jason Chaney, Darren Mullins, Brock Mullins and Ronnie Baker.

Elaine Willis, age 63, of Luxon Drive in Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2020, at the Compassionate Care Center following a long illness.
She was born February 11, 1957 in Madison County and was the daughter of the late James Edward and Mafrey McKinney Lamb. She was an employee of the Richmond Eye Care Center and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She had lived in Madison County most of her life.
Elaine is survived by one son, Donald Eric Willis (Cherish), Madison County; one sister, Lorraine Whittamore, Madison County; and four grandchildren: Ella Grace Willis, Elizabeth Jaden Willis, Jaden Willis and Paxton Eric Willis.
She was preceded in death by her son, Donovan Douglas Willis; and her grandson, Zackary Scott Moberly.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Rev. Lloyd Harris, 77, of Richmond, Kentucky, husband of Joyce, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020 at Baptist Health in Lexington.
Rev. Harris was born on October 19, 1942 in Irvine, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Edward and Martha Plowman Harris. He was a retired Church of God minister, having been a pastor for over 30 years. He was a loving husband, father, and "Pappy". He was a true man of God, selfless, and kind-hearted. To his family, he was an ever-constant presence of love, comfort, encouragement, and protection. He was always one step ahead, the "fixer", and the driver of "Pappy's Taxi". He could do it all, and he did with no hesitation. He was a true servant of both God and his family. His beautiful smile and tight hugs will be forever missed.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Joyce Harris of Richmond; one son, Timothy Dwayne Harris of Richmond; one daughter, Lisa Michelle Royalty (Jason), of Richmond; three grandchildren, Lucy Michelle Royalty, Juliette Lynn Royalty and Charlotte Christine Royalty; and one sister, Naomi Omohundro.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Bob “Bonnie” Harris, Dewey Harris, James “Mitch” Harris and Travis Harris; and one sister, Louise Vickery
Due to current restrictions, there will be a private family graveside service at Richmond Cemetery.

Magalene Brewer Campbell, age 65, of Clay City, Kentucky, passed away May 14, 2020.
Born in Perry County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Nora Edwards Campbell. She was a former factory employee of D.S.M. and a loving mother, grandmother, sister and daughter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, James Campbell, Mervin Campbell, Woodrow Campbell and Freddy Campbell; and by one sister, Irene Eber.
Magalene is survived by one son, John David Campbell (Sabrina) of Taylorsville; one daughter, Crystal Gayle Brewer of Clay City; four brothers, Herbert Campbell (Brenda) of Lexington, Mitchell Campbell (Dorothy) of Lexington, Faron Campbell of Clay City and Denver Ray Campbell of Florida; two sisters, Kathleen Jones (Alfred) of Clay City and Stella Brewer (Tommy) of Ravenna; and six grandchildren: Lexie Brewer, Erin Campbell, Whitney Brewer, Allie Campbell, Caleb Brewer and Eli Brewer.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Hearne Funeral Home, Inc., 125 West College Avenue in Stanton. Funeral service officiated by Bro. Kenny Wasson will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 21st at the funeral home. Burial will be in Stonegate Cemetery, Stanton.
Alan Ray Harris, 59

Alan Ray Harris, age 59, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at his residence in Lancaster, Kentucky.
Born November 19, 1960 in Estill County, he was the son of the late Harlow Harris and Opal Fox Harris of Estill County.
He worked for Barlow homes framing houses for over 20 years until he was disabled in a motor cycle crash. He enjoyed his TV Shows and listening to music; especially John Prine. The song “Sam Stone” is how he got his nickname, Uncle Sam. He was a fun-loving man who enjoyed every second of life and always had a joke in his mind to tell you.
He is preceded in death by his father, Harlow Harris; his brother, Kenneth Wayne Harris; and his sister, Virginia Lee Harris Hoaglin.
Alan is survived by his mother, Opal Fox Harris; a niece and a nephew, and several aunts and uncles.
Along with the families wishes, cremation services have been honored. A private service will be held at a future time.

Lyle Glynn Adams, 81, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
Mr. Adams was born on October 18, 1938 in Irvine, Kentucky, and was the son of Amos Ray Adams and Minnie Effie Bryant Adams, both of whom preceded him in death. He retired from IBM after 35 years of service. He was a member of Athens Christian Church and also attended White Oak Pond Christian Church. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, traveling to Florida and being on the beach, and above all else, spending time with his family.
Survivors include: his wife, Judith Ann Isaacs Adams; one daughter, Tonya Raye Adams, of Richmond; one brother, Harold Ray Adams, of Lexington; special family friend, Allison Pettus; two nieces, Debbie Adams and Carolyn Austin; and one nephew, Ray Adams.
Funeral services will be private with burial at Memorial Gardens in West Irvine, Kentucky.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Joe Bryant, Steve Bryant, Charles Rainey, Tom Fleming, Alex Feger, and Stewart Hunt.
