Dalous William Hisle, 86
Dalous William Hisle, age 86, of Clark County, entered his eternal "Haven of Rest" on July 5, 2015.
He was born on January 29, 1929 in Estill County to the late Deward and Rachael Witt Hisle. He was married for 63 years to Ardelle Riggs Hisle. He was a brother to Lotha Allen of Irvine.
Dalous "Buddy" honorably served on active duty in the United States Navy from October 13, 1947 to January 10, 1951 on the U. S. Harlan R. Dickson DD 708. He was a member of Tin Can Sailors, Disabled American Veterans Commanders Club and Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. He was a 32 Degree A&A Scottish Rite Mason since 1967, Winchester Commandery No. 30 Knights Templar, a Mason for 50 years and joined the Right Angle Lodge 233 on November 21, 1952. He was retired from AT&T, as a toll test board man, with 39 years of service. He was an avid fisherman, golfer, artist, and a member of Dunaway United Methodist Church for 59 years.
He is survived by one sister, Lotha Allen of Irvine; a sister-in-law, Otella Witt; two nieces: Sandy Witt Baker (Larry) and Linda Allen Webb; great nieces: Kate Baker Estes (Anthony), Kim Richardson (Vince), Ellen Burke (Clint) and Carolyn Taulbee (Bill); a great nephew, Randy Harrison; and dear family member, Robert Allen Rankin.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one niece, Brenda Allen Stone.
Services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, July 11th at Scobee Funeral Home, 219 West Lexington Avenue, Winchester. Burial will be in Winchester Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, July 10th from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Cantrell, Otis Freeman, Bob Hampton, Steve Wilson, Mike Dishman and Garry Allen Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lowell and Norma Berryman, Charles "Buzz" Rankin, Marion Todd, Mike and Connie Woolery, "Fox's Store" Friends and staff, Michael Watts, Gordan Long, Garry and Becky Taylor and Roger Geary.

John Willard Watson, 77
John Willard Watson, age 77, of Sizemore Drive in Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015, at Baptist Health in Richmond following a short illness.
He was born September 19, 1937 in Estill County and was the son of the late Ernest Price and Hallie Johnson Watson. He was a former store owner and a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his wife, Vicki Adams Watson.
He is survived by one daughter, Diane McNutt (Wayne), Shelby County; two sons: Russell Crayle Watson and Brent Watson, both of Madison County; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Ann Abney Watson; one son, John Watson Jr.; two sisters: Vivian Rogers and Carol Allen; and two brothers: Glenn and Wendell Watson.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 11th at the Cobb Hill Cemetery by Bro. Elwood Patrick. Friends may call between 6 and 9 p.m., Friday, July 10th at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home.

Lester Eugene Wilson, 57
Lester Eugene Wilson, age 57, of Maulpin Hill Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015, at his son’s home following a sudden illness.
He was born January 27, 1958 in Estill County and was the son of the late Cornelios Wilson and Ida Belle Peters Campbell. He was a carpenter and had lived in Estill County all of his life.
Mr. Wilson is survived by one son: Robert Lee Wilson, Estill County; one sister, Gladys Graham, Estill County; two brothers: Cornelios Wilson Jr. and Billy Joe Wilson, both of Estill County; and one grandchild, Leslie Dawn Wilson.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Diane Willis.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 8th at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Richardson Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Nancy Carol Hall McDowell, age 62, of Elmer Richardson Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
She was born October 6, 1952 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Dewey Eldon and Juanita Norton Hall. She was a homemaker and attended the Church of God. She had lived in Estill County all of her life.
Mrs. McDowell is survived by her husband, Thomas Edward McDowell; two daughters: Brenda Gayle Roberts and Tina Renee Spencer, both of Powell County; three sons: Thomas Dewayne McDowell, Michael Edward McDowell, and Steven Dewey McDowell, all of Estill County; one sister, Nettie Baker, Estill County; three brothers: Eldon Hall, Kenny Hall, and Jeff Hall, all of Estill County; and six grandchildren: James Michael McDowell, Ceira Nicole McDowell, Kendra Renee McDowell, Ryan Tyler McDowell, Riley Hope McDowell and Andrew McDowell.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Connie Hall; and two grandchildren: William Spencer, II and Michael Logan McDowell.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 7th at the Pea Ridge Holiness Church by Bro. Beverly Arvin and Bro. Jerry Rose. Burial was at the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends called after 6 p.m., Monday, July 6th at the Pea Ridge Holiness Church.

Jerry Elwood Warner, 72
Jerry Elwood Warner, age 72, of Sub Station Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, following a long illness.
He was born September 5, 1942 in Estill County and was the son of the late James Edward and Grace Riddell Warner. He was a retired employee of Control Conditioner and was a United States Navy veteran. He attended the Victory Tabernacle and was a member of the Kentucky Friends of Bluegrass.
Mr. Warner is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Riddell Warner; three daughters: Lisa Lynn Rawlins (Tim), Bridgette Muncy (Mike), and Libby Ann Wiseman (Danny), all of Estill County; one son, Jerald E. “Bubby” Miller, Estill County; two sisters: Faye Tipton, Ohio; and Imogene McIntosh, North Carolina; nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Wanda Carlon; one brother, Larry Warner; and one grandchild, Jerrod Tyler Miller.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 7th at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Geral Richardson. Burial was at the Turpin Cemetery. Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m., Monday, July 6th at the funeral home.

Michael Lee Holton, age 43, of Rice Station Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015, after a sudden illness.
He was born May 20, 1972 in Huntington, West Virginia, and was the son of Gary Lee Holton and Joanna Rose. He was a heavy equipment operator and enjoyed rock hunting. He attended the Nazarene Church and had lived in Estill County most of his life.
Mr. Holton is survived by his father: Gary Lee Holton, Estill County; his mother: Joanna Rose, Laurel County; his grandmother: Mary Lilly Rose, Dayton, Ohio; two daughters: Brittany Paige Holton and Bethany Loren Holton, both of Estill County; four brothers: Robert Joe Grigsby, Indiana; David Allen Holton, Fayette County; Travis Aaron Holton, Estill County; and Mathew Perry Holton, Madison County; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 4th at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Greg Deaton. Burial was at the Rose Cemetery. Friends called after 11:00 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.

Timothy Glen Mays, age 57, of Waco, Kentucky, husband of Gwen Johnson passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015, at University of Cincinnati Medical Center after a long illness.
He was a native of Estill County and the eldest son of Glendon Mays and the late Delphine Mays. Fishing and playing billards with family and friends were some of his favorite pasttimes.
Survivors include his wife, Gwen; one daughter, Leanna Mays Hunt; two sons: Jonathan Mays and Christopher Mays; two stepdaughters: Melissa Mays and Christina Brown; his grandchildren: Tyra Hunt, Gage Hunt, Teryn Mays Bair (PVT First Class Zachary O'Brian Bair), Michael D. Geil, Jordan T. Bailey, Bobby A. Laughter Jr., Brandon C Laughter, and Shelby N. Laughter; one sister, Pam Mays; three brothers: Leon Mays, Steve Mays and Keith Mays; and several nieces and cousins.
Memorial services were held at 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 7th at the Heritage Funeral Home, 237 North Second Street in Richmond. The family welcomed friends and family from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers were Keith Mays, Steve Mays, Jim Taylor Jr., and Zachary Stephen Johnson.

Raymond Young, 75
Raymond Young, age 75, of West Cedar Grove Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015, at St. Joseph East in Lexington following a short illness.
He was born December 26, 1939 in Estill County and was the son of the late Walter and Lena Williams Young. He was a CSX engineer and retired after 23 years of service. He worked 17 years at the Bluegrass Army Depot and was a United States Army veteran. He attended the Church of God and lived in Estill County all of his life.
Mr. Young is survived by his wife, Wilma E. Dixon Young; two daughters: Debra Young and Maliea Rae Arvin, both of Estill County; one son, Steven Todd Young, Estill County; two brothers: Earl Young and Denny Young, both of Estill County; six grandchildren: Dustin Arvin, Taylan Arvin, Tristan Cackling, Jager Young, Corey Young and Kyra Cackling; and two great grandchildren: Benley Cackling and Karter Cackling.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Ernest Young.

Glen Walling, age 76, passed away at his home on Friday, June 26, 2015, after a long illness.
He was born February 26, 1939, the son of the late Howell and Fannie Charles Walling and lived most of his life in Estill County.
Mr. Walling was preceded in death by two brothers: Harold Gene Walling and Garett Walling; and one sister, Drucilla Walling Gross.
Survivors include his estranged wife, Naomi Walling; two daughters: Devina Neal and Hazel Baker; two sons: Jeff Walling (Tammy) and Ricky Walling; his stepdaughters: Chelle Issacs (Shane), April Riddell (Phillip), Jannus Rhodus (Bob), Patricia Brandenburg (Eddie) and Sandra Kay Prater; his sister: Ruby Moreland (Fred); two brothers: James Walling (Eva), and Floyd Walling (Christine); several grandchildren, including: Steven Neal (Brianna Richardson), Cody Neal, Greg Walling, and Christopher Walling; and three great grandchildren: Bently Portwood (Kayla Williams), Caitlyn and Carly Riddell.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 4th at the Pine Hill Baptist Church with Carl Dennis Williams officiating. Burial followed in the Gross Point Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Steven Neal, Cody Neal, Jeff Walling, Shane Isaaacs, Jeff Riddell and Phillip Riddell.
