Harold Gene “Buddy” Stevens, 61
Harold Gene “Buddy” Stevens of Irvine, age 61, passed away early Sunday morning, September 20, 2015 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, while awaiting heart surgery.
He was born November 28, 1953 in Estill County.
He is survived by his girlfriend, Jennifer Barnes, and their daughter, Brittany Lou-Ann Stevens.
Mr. Stevens is also survived by his sister, Vicki Whitaker (Dean), his brother, Kenny Stevens (Joy), his nephew, Todd Tipton (Amy), his niece, Amanda Jolly (Austin), and several other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Garrett Rhodes; his father, Harold Stevens; his daughter, Cassandra Gray; and his nephew, Steven Garrett Tipton.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 22nd from 6 to 9 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home in Irvine. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, September 23rd at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Greg McClellan officiating. Burial will be in the West Irvine Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jarod Baker, Danny Clowers, Harold “Buzzy” Horn, Mike Manious, Charlie Park, and Dean Whitaker.

Gary Lee Winkle, 68
Gary Lee Winkle, age 68, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
He was a native of Estill County, a son of the late Carlo and Margaret Ruth Arvin Winkle. Mr. Winkle was a former member of the Peacemakers Motorcycle Club.
Survivors include his sister Beverly Ann Collier (Don); his nieces: Belinda Raye Collier and Sandra Kay Collins (Robert); his son, Gary Lee Winkle Jr; his daughter, Caitlyn Marie Winkle.
Services will be held Thursday, September 24th at Lewis Funeral Home with Bro. Glennis Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow in the South Irvine Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 10:00 a.m., Thursday, until service time.
Pallbearers will be Winfred Winkle, Phillip Cox, Stuart Arvin, Scott Reeves, Robert Collins, and Glenn Richardson.
The honorary pallbearers will be Mike Abney, Justin Abney and Pepper Hardy.

Mary Gladys Jones, 85
Mary Gladys Jones, age 85, a resident of the Irvine, Kentucky, Nursing & Rehabilitation Center passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015, at the Center following a long illness.
She was born December 2, 1929 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Millard and Sarah Etta Horn Ballard. She was a retired Carhartt, Inc. employee and had lived in Estill County all of her life.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Jones.
She is survived by one daughter, Lorna Farris (Howard), Ravenna; three grandchildren: Seth Clay Farris, Serena Faith Beard and Sarah Etta Morgan; three great grandchildren: Dalton Clay Farris, Piper Grey Beard and John Tripp Morgan; and a special family friend, Louise Woolery.
She was preceded in death by three sisters: Lula Withers, Martha Woolery and Betty Puckett; and three brothers: Harry, John Simp and Wesley Ballard.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 23rd at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Joe Lahrmer. Burial will be at the Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call after 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Dr. Harry T. “Terry” Jones, 66, died Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Autumnwood Care Center in Tiffin, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gloria Alexis Dale Jones; his parents, Harry and Anita Jones; his siblings, brother Tim Jones (Pat), brother Gary Jones (Sandy), brother Scott Jones (Joanna), sister Marion Carpenter (Ray), and brother Tom Jones (Suzie); his brother-in-law, Dr. Thom Dale; his three children: daughter Alivia Barrett (Todd), daughter Julie Clark (Scott), and son Bart Jones (Bridgette); and his six grandchildren: Ethan, Amalee, Aiden, and Annabel Barrett, and Cara and Casen Clark.
Born and raised in Irvine, Kentucky, Terry devoted his life to the ministry, serving as senior minister to Christian churches in Kentucky and Ohio for over 45 years. His first ministry began in 1968 at Station Camp Christian Church in Irvine. Ministries to follow were at Cobb Hill Christian Church, Irvine; Speedwell Christian Church, Richmond; Salem Christian Church, Poosey Ridge; First Christian Church, Paintsville; and First Christian Church, Elizabethtown. His final ministry was with Christ’s Church at Tiffin, Tiffin, Ohio.
He graduated from Estill County High School, in Irvine in 1967; Kentucky Christian College in 1972 with a BA in Preaching; Eastern Kentucky University in 1974 with a BA in Communications; Kentucky Christian College in 1987 with a Masters in Ministry; Cincinnati Bible Seminary in 2001 with a Masters of Divinity; and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2004 with a Doctor of Ministry. He published a book on expository preaching in 2012, Preach the Word.
Terry was dedicated to mission work through the years, including Windward Islands School of Evangelism, St. Vincent and Suriname, South America.
He had a passion for fishing; taking vacations to Middle Bass Island on Lake Erie for 35 years with his family members and friends.
Terry was always involved in the community with many different organizations; Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, Task Force of Tiffin, and Morrison House.
His funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 25th at Christ Church at Tiffin with Minister Curt Gallmeyer officiating. There will be no burial at this time.
Friends may visit with the family from 4-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 24th at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Christ Church at Tiffin.
There will be a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1st at Brown Funeral Home, 306 College Street, Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

Emma Rose Hackworth, 51
Emma Rose Hackworth, age 51, of Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at her home.
She was born February 28, 1964, in Madison County to James and Alberta Kirby Ashcraft, both of whom preceded her in death. Emma was a homemaker and a member of Gloryland Baptist Church. She loved her family dearly and every child was considered to be her child.
Survivors include her husband, Phillip Hackworth of Richmond; three sisters: Linda Muncy of Estill County, Ruth Hackworth of Madison County and Tina Beasley of Powell County; two brothers: Danny Ashcraft of Madison County and Ivan Ashcraft of Irvine; a special niece, Alberta Hackworth; a special nephew, Danny P. Ashcraft; and several other nieces and nephews.
Services were held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 18th at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, 1110 Barnes Mill Road, Richmond, with Bro. Cecil Burns officiating. Burial followed in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Billy Muncy, Brison Muncy, Allen W. Hackworth, Davie Hale, Micah Ashcraft, and Shelby Powell.

Lella Bell Berry, 83
Lella Bell Berry, 83, of Clark County, Kentucky, widow of Morris D. Berry, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015 at her home.
A native of Clay City, she was born February 22, 1932, to the late Bryan and Fannie Tipton Snowden.
Mrs. Berry is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ricky Berry (Vickie) of Clark County; two brothers: Ernest Snowden of Clark County and Rodney Snowden (Mary) of Irvine; two sisters: Letha Snowden and Ava Nell Barnett, both of Clay City; and one granddaughter, Valerie Berry of Clark County.
Funeral services were Thursday, September 17th at 2:00 p.m. at the El Bethel United Methodist Church, 5229 Trapp-Goffs Corner Road in Winchester, with Rev. Mike Albertson and Bro. James Skidmore presiding. The family received friends on Thursday from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service at the church. Burial was in the Dawson-Miller Family Cemetery.

Christopher E. McGee, 52
Christopher E. McGee, age 52, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Northern Montana Hospital in Havre, Montana, of natural causes.
Christopher was born on November 29, 1962 in Cleveland, Ohio, and the family soon relocated to Irvine, where he grew up. He attended Estill County High School and Clearfield Job Corps, where he received his GED. Upon his graduation from Job Corps, Christopher enlisted in the Army National Guard and served until his honorable discharge. He became an over-the-road truck driver and worked for more than 20 years hauling freight and cows until his retirement in 2014.
Christopher enjoyed watching sports and NASCAR, playing video games, fishing, and attending NASCAR races. He adored his family, especially his grandsons with whom he loved to roughhouse.
Christopher was preceded in death by his father, Joseph McGee; and his grandson, Skyler Randels.
He is survived by his sons: Michael (Jhaney) and Anthony (Amber) Randels, all of Havre; his grandsons: Quentin, Ezekiel, and Jeremy Randels, all of Havre; his best friend, Debra Stover of Havre; his mother, Mattie McGee of Irvine; his siblings: Tammy Grace of Irvine, Robert McGee of Ramona, California; and Billy McGee of Irvine, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and, at his request, no memorial services was held.

James Wendell "Buddy" Brandenburg, 75
James Wendell "Buddy" Brandenburg, husband of Mary Ann Lynch Brandenburg of Beattyville, and the son of the late Clinton and Grace Brandenburg, was born in Lee County, Kentucky on August 17, 1940 and departed this life in Lexington, Kentucky on September 11, 2015 at the age of 75 years and 25 days. He was a longtime farmer and delivered milk for many years.
In addition to his wife, Mary Ann, Mr. Brandenburg is survived by one son, James Timothy Brandenburg of Beattyville; two grandsons, Aaron Hollon (friend Baylee Lotz) and Cameron Alex Hollon, all of Beattyville; eleven brothers and sisters: Betty Lamberth (Edward) of Cookesville, Tennessee, Loretta Captain of West Carrollton, Ohio; Nina Soper of Lexington, Kentucky, Earl Brandenburg (Javenne) of Irvine, Harold Dean Brandenburg (Lisa) of Perryville, Brenda Wilcox (Bill) of Dayton, Ohio; Delana Brandenburg (Eugene) of Lexington, Judy Clifton (Charlie) of Georgetown, Barbara Proffitt of Germantown, Ohio, Michael Brandenburg of Beattyville and Rebecca Jane Stamper (Mark) of Frankfort; his brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws: Ruth Brandenburg (Kenneth), Phyllis Little, all of Beattyville; Ronnie Lynch (Robin) of Booneville; Betty Kincaid (Frank), and Joni Coburn, all of Beattyville; special friend and cousin, Jerry Brandenburg and Mary Ann Combs; a special niece, Missy Hunt; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Brandenburg was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Tammy Ann Brandenburg Hollon; and his father and mother in-law, Clay and Ina Lynch.
Visitation was 12:00 Noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Scott Brandenburg officiating at Newnam Funeral Home Chapel, Beattyville. Burial was in Stone Coal Cemetery in Lee County.
