Donald E. Stewart, 82
Donald E. Stewart, age 82, widower of Betty Jean Spaulding Stewart, died Monday, Augusst 22, 2016 at Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, Kentucky.
Born July 5, 1934 in Lexington, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Bernie Vernon and Dorothy Mae King Stewart. Mr. Stewart served in the United States Navy and was a 32-year department manager for I.B.M.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Randolph (Gary), Nicholasville; two sons: Larry Stewart (Lisa), Irvine; and Kristopher Stewart (Angela), Nicholasville; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m., Thurs., August 25th at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 3421 Harrodsburg Road, Lexington. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., Thursday, until the service time at the funeral home.

James Edward Kiser, 82
James Edward Kiser, age 82, of Irvine, Kentucky, husband of Patricia Clevenger Kiser, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016.
He was born in Carter, Carter County, Kentucky to the late Frank Kiser and Ruth Fuller on June 16, 1934. Mr. Kiser was an educator, a United States Army veteran, and a deacon of the First Christian Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: James Edward Kiser Jr., Randall Jay Kiser (Stacey), and Brian Scott Kiser (Wendy), his sister, Joy Brock; 13 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved to play golf with his “buddies”.
A funeral service will be forgone, due to his anatomical gift to the University of Louisville medicine.
There will be a gathering of friends to celebrate his life on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at the First Christian Church from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Lelia Taylor, 87
Lelia Taylor, age 87, of Pryse Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at her home following a short illness.
She was born August 18, 1928 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Joe and Pheobe Pitts Tipton. She was a retired postmaster with the Pryse Post Office where she worked for 31 years. She attended the Church of God and had lived in Estill County all of her life.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her husband, W.C. “Tucker” Taylor; one daughter, Sue Carol Beckley (Wayne), Estill County; one son, Wallace Charles Taylor (Cathy), Estill County; three grandchildren: L.W. Beckley, Charleston Jo Neal, and Wallace Chandler Taylor; and one great grandchild, Will Jared Beckley.
She was preceded in death by one son, William Calvin Taylor Jr., three siblings; and one grandchild, Chadwick Miles Beckley.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, August 19th at 2 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Tim Hall with burial at the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m., Thursday, August 18th at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Tony Miller, Sam Tipton, Charlie Tipton, Anthony Rogers, Roger Powell, and Bobo Rogers.
Honorary pallbearers were Charlie Taylor, David Taylor, Gary Taylor, Clay Flynn, L.W. Beckley, Tommy Crowe, Chandler Taylor, Wayne Beckley, Neal Chimiel, Esco Crowe, Tommy Reffitt, Will Jared Beckley, all cousins and nephews, and special caregivers – Carrie Rogers and Heather Tipton.
Larry Gene Horn, 59
Larry Gene Horn, age 59, of White Oak Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016, at his home following a short illness.
He was born November 4, 1956 in Richmond, Indiana and was the son of the late Joe and Reba Payne Horn. He worked as a mechanic with Evans Motors for 20 years, Trail Blazers for 15 years and Conrad Motors for 10 years. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved fishing. He enjoyed gardening and mowing and was a fanatic about keeping his yard mowed.
Mr. Horn is survived by the love of his life for 25 years, Sandra Rader, Estill County; and three daughters: Tiffany Horn, Mt. Vernon; Kendra Rader (fiancé Chris), Jackson County; and Heather Rader, Jackson County.
He was preceded in death by two brothers; Harold and Julius Horn.
Graveside services were conducted Friday, August 19th at 11 a.m. at the Pine Thicket Cemetery.
Warren F. Toler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Keaton Dwayne Rogers, newborn
Keaton Dwayne Rogers, newborn son of Casey Wade and Rachel Maxine Ward Rogers, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
Survivors in addition to his father and mother include his grandparents, Richard and Sharon Rogers, Estill County; Dwayne Leon & Joyce Renee Ward, Harrison County; his great grandparents: Gaylord Rogers, Powell County; Mary Durham, Powell County; Jewell Fox, Estill County; Todd & Lena Ward, Fayette County; and Macille Shortland, West Virginia; one sister, Skylar Brooke Rogers, Estill County; two brothers: Matthew Neal, Clark County; and Casey Wade Rogers, Jr.; Estill County; and aunts & uncles: Matthew Ward; Harrison County; Ashley Watson, Harrison County; and Kyle Rogers (Mandi), Franklin County.
He was preceded in death by two great grandparents: Earl Fox and Billy Ray Shortland.
Graveside services were conducted Sunday, August 14th at the Rogers Family Cemetery by Bro. Scott Willoughby.

Charlie Tipton, age 72
Charlie Tipton, age 72, of Winchester Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016.
He was born February 23, 1944 in Estill County and was the son of the late Rice and Elizabeth McIntosh Tipton. He was a former Trane employee where he worked for 27 years and retired from the Bluegrass Army Depot. He served 20 years as a National Guardsman and was a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Tipton is survived by one son, Kevin W. Tipton, Estill County; one sister, Rose Lee Turner, Estill County; one grandchild, Sierra Tipton; and his fiancé, Nancy Rhodes.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Lorene Gibbs, Louise Neal and Dorothy Gross; and one brother, Arnold Tipton.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, August 15th at 11 a.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Glendon Woosley. Burial was at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m., Sunday, August 14th at the funeral home.
Harold C. Horn, 78
Harold C. Horn, age 78, of Sweet Lick Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at the Baptist Health Richmond following a short illness.
He was born April 7, 1938 in Estill County and was the son of the late Charlie Green and Cubie Rawlins Horn. He attended the First Church of God and had lived in Estill County all of his life.
Mr. Horn is survived by one sister: Sandra Eleen Horn Newton (Tony), Irvine; two brothers: Glendon Edward Horn, Irvine; and Chester Ray Horn, Lexington; his aunt: Evelyn Rawlins, Irvine; his uncle: Eugene Rawlins (Ethel), Irvine; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, August 14th at 2 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Danny Neal. Burial was at the Rawlins Cemetery. Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m., Saturday, August 13th at the funeral home.
James Everett Walling, 78
James Everett Walling, age 78, of Broadway in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at his home following a short illness.
He was born September 22, 1937, in Estill County, a son of the late Howell and Fannie Mae Charles Walling. He was a former union plumber and had lived in Estill County all of his life. He was a member of the Ravenna Church of God.
Mr. Walling is survived by his wife, Eva Mae Willis Walling; two daughters: Brenda Turner, Waco; and Kelly Goosey, Irvine; one son, James William Walling, Waco; two stepsons: Billy Joe Wallace, Irvine; and Dwight Keith Wallace, Michigan; one sister, Ruby Moreland, Irvine; one brother, Floyd Walling, Irvine; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five siblings: Opal Walling, Drucilla Gross, Garrett Walling, Glen Walling, and Harold Gene Walling; and one grandson.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, August 13th at 1:00 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Willie Hargus Gordon with burial following in the Oakdale Cemetery. Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m., Friday, August 12th at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Harold Friend, Freddy Moreland, Greg McClellan, Mike Carman, Jordon Hall, Mike Riddell and James Walling.

KSP Investigates Theft of Equipment in Madison County
August 22, 2016) – The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is investigating a theft of several items from the KY Fish and Wildlife Facility located at 638 Dreyfus Road, north of Berea.
The initial investigation indicates that between August 19th and 22nd, someone entered the service garage and took two Exmark zero turn lawn mowers, a Kawasaki Mule side by side ATV, Husqvarna chainsaw and weed eater, several Dewalt power tools and a Dell desk top computer. The approximate value of the property that was taken totals over $30,000. Anyone with any information about the person(s) responsible for the theft is asked to contact KSP Post 7 at 859-623-2404.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Trooper Ken Bradley.

KSP Apprehends Two More Murder Suspects from Lee County

Personnel from the Kentucky State Police, Richmond and Hazard posts, apprehended two suspects alleged to be involved in the death of Billy Roark that occurred more than a week ago in Lee County.
Jay N. Shoemaker, 39 years old of Beattyville, and Raigan D. Griffin, 22 years old of Beattyville were located at residence off of Rock Lick Road in rural Breathitt County and taken into custody just after 6:30 pm today. Both Shoemaker and Griffin are lodged at the Three Forks Regional Detention Center, charged with Complicity to Commit Murder.
Two additional individuals, Amy Turner, 31 years old of Beattyville, and Alysia Hensley, 33 years old of Beattyville were arrested and charged with Hindering Prosecution and are also lodged in the Three Forks Regional Detention Center.
The Richmond Post had requested the public’s help to find Shoemaker and Griffin who were believed to be involved in the death of Billy Roark last week in Lee County.
On August 7, 2016 KSP arrested four individuals after two deceased Lee County men were found just off of Hell Creek Road in Lee County.
The initial investigation indicates that Billy Roark, 27 years old of Beattyville, and James R. Brown, 36 years old of Beattyville, were fatally shot the previous Thursday night in two separate incidents. Billy Roark’s body was found on Friday morning and the body of James Brown was found on Saturday night. They were both pronounced deceased at the scene by the Lee County Coroner.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, four people have been arrested and charged for their alleged involvement in the deaths of Roark and Brown. Wesley T. Johnson, 22 years old of Irvine and Kevin F. Kendall, 32 years old of Beattyville, have been arrested and charged with Complicity to Murder. Anthony T. Taylor, 34 years old of Beattyville and Kasandra K. White, 23 years old of Beattyville have been arrested and charged with Murder and Complicity to Murder.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Detective Jesse Armstrong.
