Leta Mefford Berryman, 76
Leta Mefford Berryman, 76, wife of Roger Berryman, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
She was born on March 3, 1940 in Fayette County to the late Mark and Margaret Evans Mefford. She was employed as a school bus driver for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Her fondest memories were caring for her family.
In addition to her husband, Leta is survived by three sons: Mitchell Berryman (Lynn Kang), Lane Berryman (Michelle), and John Berryman; two daughters: Bonnie Bradley (Ken), and Christy Arnold (Jerry); six grandchildren: Strauder Goff, Adison Bradley, Preston Bradley, Jacob Arnold, Abigail Arnold, and Ethen Berryman; one brother, Frank Mefford; and one sister, Judy Lowery.
A time of visitation and remembrance will be held 6-8 p.m., on Tuesday, September 6 at Scobee Funeral Home, 219 West Lexington Avenue in Winchester.

Larry Dean Floyd, age 62, of George Street in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 7, 1954 in Estill County and was the son of Hazel Jean Webb Floyd and the late James Thomas Floyd. He was a retired Trane employee and was a member of the Irvine First Church of God. He was a Kentucky organ donor.
Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife, Susan Faye Neal Floyd; one daughter, Amanda Dawn Arvin (Joey), Estill County; one son, Larry Dean Floyd II (Missy), Estill County; a special nephew, John Hunt III; five sisters: Faye Renfro, Montgomery County; Linda Kelley, Madison County; Brenda Fauste, Powell County; Martha Griffin, Estill County; and Frances Spader, Fayette County; three grandchildren: Cody Floyd, MaKayla Floyd and Tristen Arvin; his other babies: Courtney Watson, Ashley Flynn, Tenley Flynn, Colton Flynn, Breanna Browning and Chris Withrow; and special friends: Paul Dennis and Mike Johnson.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Sherman Floyd.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 3rd at 1 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Glennis Sizemore. Burial will be at the Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call between 6 and 9 p.m., Friday, Septembe 2nd at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be John Hunt, Brad Dennis, Bobby Fauste, Don Brewer, Jeremy Moreland, Derrick Kelley and Terry Muncie.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ashley Flynn, Tenley Flynn, Colton Flynn, Taylan Arvin and his grandchildren.

Debra Ann Harrison Witt, age 63, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky.
She was a native of Estill County, born January 22, 1953, a daughter of Bobbie Harrison and the late James Harrison. She was a member of the Williams Memorial Baptist Church and an employee of the Kroger Company for 30 years. Debra was was loved by all that knew her. She was a kind and compassionate person who loved and treasured her family. She loved taking care of them, and she loved the Lord.
Mrs. Witt was preceded in death by her daughter, Heather Witt.
Survivors include her mother, Bobbie Harrison; her daughter, De Anna Neal (Brian); her sister, Pam Frymyer; her nephew, Jamie Frymyer; her grandchildren: Shelby and Jacob Neal; and her long time companion, Ray Bowman.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 3rd at Lewis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 2nd at the funeral home.

Taylor Brooke Mayes, age 20, passed away Monday, August 29, 2016, due to an automobile accident in Beattyville, Kentucky.
Taylor was born August 13, 1996 in Richmond, Kentucky, a daughter to Sheila Mayes and the late Junice Jackson Mayes III. She was a graduate of Lee County High School and attended Hazard Community Technical College where she majored in education. In high school Taylor was a member of the Future Farmers of America and Future Business Leaders of America. Her hobbies included reading, writing, spending time on the computer and taking photographs.
Along with her mother; Sheila "Creech" Mayes of Beattyville, she is survived by two brothers: Vernon Mayes of Beattyville and Austin Mayes of Richmond, one sister, Emily Mayes of Richmond; her grandmother; Donna Mayes of Irvine; grandparents, Joe and Viola Mayes of Booneville; boyfriend: Seth Cecil of Bardstown; stepfather, Brian Mayes of Beattyville; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Junice Jackson Mayes III; grandparents, Helen and Billy Creech, and Dickie Mayes.
Visitation was held Wednesday, August 31st from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Booneville Funeral Home. Funeral Services were held Thursday, September 1st at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Chris Holiday officiating. She was laid to rest in the Creech Family Cemetery located in Beattyville.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Booneville Funeral Home.
Dennis Rice, 85
Dennis Rice, age 85, of Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at Baptist Health - Lexington after a brief illness.
He was born on May 15, 1931, in Madison County, Kentucky and grew up in Estill County. He was the son of the late Charlie Clay Rice and Allie Miller Rice. Mr. Rice was a graduate of Estill County High School. He retired from the Okonite Cable Company in 1997 after 27 years of service. He was a member of Clarksville Baptist Church but attended Pilot Knob Missionary Baptist Church.
On November 1, 1951, Mr. Rice enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. After an honorable discharge in October 1953, he continued his service in the inactive reserves for 6 years. He was a charter member and remained very active in the Marine Corp League, Bluegrass Detachment 1012, where he proudly served with the Honor Guard. He was a Kentucky Colonel and also a 60-year member of the O.D. Henderson #437 Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Christine Barrett Rice; three children: Sue Babb of Richmond; Pete Winkler (Stephanie), Olive Branch, Mississippi; and Denise Rousey (Danny) of Richmond; and eight grandchildren: Brandon Rousey, Blake Howard, Tyler Rousey, Christian Carter, Tori Rousey, Lance, Kelsey and Ashley Sanderson.
Funeral services for Mr. Rice were conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, August 29th at Oldham, Roberts and Powell Funeral Home in Richmond with Bro. Greg Lakes officiating. Burial followed in Madison Memorial Garden. Visitation will be from 5 – 9 p.m., Sunday, August 28th at the funeral home with Masonic Rites at 7:00 p.m.
Pallbearers were Pete Winkler, Brandon Rousey, Blake Howard, Tyler Rousey, Christian Carter and Tori Rousey.

Linda Jane "Jeanette" Hackney, age 78, of College Corner, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Fort Hamilton Hospital after an extended illness. She was born December 20, 1937
She was preceeded in death by her parents, Homer and Beulah Durbin Hardy; a brother, Jimmy; a sister, Kathleen Estes; and two daughters: Linda Jane Hackney and Marjorie Ann Hackney.
She left behind a brother, Douglas of Watertown, Wisconsin; a sister, Betty Baker of Austin Texas; her spouse of 58 years, Fred Hackney; and children: Monte Hackney (Helen), Marsha Laney (Manson) and Mike Hackney (Paige). She also left five grandchildren: Caleb Hackney (Hannah), Anna Laney, Jake Laney, Cade Hackney, and Kyle Hackney; and one great grandchild, Boone Hackney.
She will be loved and missed by all.
There was a memorial service on Thursday, August 25th 2016 from 5-7 pm. at Henry Ogle & Paul R. Young Funeral Home in Oxford, Ohio.

H.H. "Jackie" Tudor III, 74
H.H. "Jackie" Tudor III, age 74, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2016 in Salta, Argentina, after a short battle with cancer.
He was born in Irvine, Kentucky, on January 8, 1942 and graduated from Irvine High School in 1960. He joined the United States Navy in 1961 and served on the U.S.S. Amerjack, one of the first nuclear submarines. After the Navy, he went to work for Texas Instruments in Dallas, Texas and traveled world-wide for TI as a technical advisor until he retired at age 65.
Mr. Tudor was preceded in death by parents, H.H. "Jack" Tudor and Mary Elizabeth Noland Tudor; an infant brother, Glenn Bradley Tudor; and a sister, Duveen French.
He is survived by his wife, Nadia Tudor; four children: Mark Bradley of Northern Kentucky, Richard Hill Tudor (Mary) of Tupelo, Mississippi; Jennifer Dulin of Texas; and Humphrey Hill Tudor IV of Salta, Argentina; three sisters: Helen Pattie (Jack) of Danville; Margie Bradford of Bardstown; and Lois June Prewitt (Verlon) of Irvine.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 10th at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church in Irvine. Friends and family are invited to share their remembrances of Jackie.

Millard Fillmore Reed, 78
Millard Fillmore Reed, age 78, of Waco, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016, at the VA Medical Center following a short illness.
He was born October 5, 1937, in Mancelonia, Michigan, the son of the late Howard Reed and Zora Rawlins Reed Stevenson. He retired from CSX Railroad where he was an engineer and attended the Hayes Fork Baptist Church. He had lived in Madison County for the past 23 years and was a veteran with the United States Air Force.
Mr. Reed survived by his wife, Elizabeth Lynn House Reed; three daughters: Joanna Collins (Jay), North Carolina; Julie Posante (John), Indiana; and Robin Rose, Estill County; one son, John W. Reed, Estill County; one stepdaughter, Kelly Horn (Allan), Richmond; two stepsons: Scott Stocker (Trena), Richmond; and Charles Isaacs (Letha), Lincoln County; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 31st at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Leonard Wayne Dunn. Friends may call after 5 p.m., Wednesday, until service time at the funeral home.

Doris Jean Westphal, 84, widow of Kenneth Louis Westphal, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016.
Born February 7, 1932, in Irvine, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Daisy Ashcaft Marcum. She was a member of Vineyard Community Church.
Mrs. Westphal is survived by two sons: Kent Marcum Westphal (Jude), and Barry Wayne Westphal (Donna); one daughter, Robyn Dana Clark (Kevin); seven grandchildren: Evan Westphal, Ryan Westphal, Lauren Whitt, Cameron Clark, Chapman Clark, Amanda Gecas, and Emma Boseman; and three great grandchildren: Rachel Gecas, Kali-Marie Boseman and Camden Whitt.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Edward Marcum, and Norman Marcum; and one grandson, Robert Westphal.
Visitation was held Tuesday, August 30th from 3 until 6 p.m. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home in Lexington. The service followed at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial was at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 31st at Congleton Cemetery in Irvine.

Rondell Lee "Randy" Patrick, age 53 of Nicholasville, Kentucky, passed away at his residence Thursday, August 25, 2016. He was a welder and a member of the Ark of Mercy Church. He was born February 2, 1963 in Wolfe County, Kentucky, the son of Verlin and Betty J. Sparks Patrick.
Mr. Patrick is survived by three sisters: Audrey Rodriguez of Nicholasville, Joyce Hurst of Dayton, Ohio; and Sue Trieste of Gainesville, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Verlin and Betty Patrick; one brother Jerry Patrick, and one sister, Carol Sue Patrick.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 30th at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel in Clay City with Bro. Sammy Patrick and Bro. Warren Rogers officiating. Friends visited Tuesday from 11 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.

Terry Glenn Hall, age 57, of Sevierville, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016. Terry was from Powell County and sang in several churches in the Estill County area.
He was born December 7, 1958 in Clark County, the son of Herman and Ruth Carmichael Hall.
A member of Grace Baptist Church in Sevierville, Terry made his living serving God through ministry and song by traveling all over the United States and singing at churches far and wide. He will be remembered as a man of God who loved his family and who put an amazing and unique voice to work for God's glory. His tireless work on Earth touched an untold number of lives, and though he will be missed by many, there is no doubt Heaven's choir gained its best bass singer yet. He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Hall; and a brother, Ernie Jay Hall.
Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Janice Allen Pinkston Hall; three sons: Jonathan Heath Hall (Amanda) and their son Gabriel Heath Hall, Don R. Pinkston, and Keith D. Pinkston and his daughter Virginia Caroline "Ginnie" Pinkston, all of Kentucky; a daughter, Rosanna Lynn Hall Diggs (Nate) and their children, Joel Thomas Diggs, Zachary Herman Brady-Diggs and Talia Grace Diggs; his mother, Ruth Carmichael Hall; and a sister, Linda Butler (Don Butler).
Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 26th at Grace Baptist Church on 2539 Newport Highway, Sevierville; with Rev. Sam Hayes and Rev. Jerry Sawyers officiating. Family received friends 4-8 p.m, Thursday, August 25th at the church.

Missing Boyle County Juvenile Located in New Mexico

The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post, has ended the search for Jenna Oakley, who was reported as missing from Boyle County on Thursday, September 1, 2016.
Oakley, 15 years old of Danville, was located in New Mexico by members of the Tucumcari Police Department and Quay County Sheriff’s Office at approximately 9:00 p.m. MDT, in the Motel 6 parking lot of Tucumcari, New Mexico.
Oakley was found unharmed and positively identified, along with Kenneth R. Nigh, 20 years old of Arlington, Indiana. Both Oakley and Nigh were sitting inside the 2014 Honda Civic passenger car with a Kentucky license plate displaying 2113-BT, that had been reported as stolen this past Thursday, September 1st following the death of her stepmother, Rhonda D. Oakley.
Nigh was arrested by the Tucumcari PD and is lodged in the Quay County Detention Center charged with one count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
Police had been looking for the missing Boyle County girl that did not return home the previous night, following the death of her stepmother, Rhonda D. Oakley.
Jenna Oakley, 15 years old of Danville had been entered as a missing juvenile and possibly in the white 2014 Honda Civic, with a Kentucky ‘Breast Cancer Awareness’ license plate displaying 2113-BT. She was described as a white female approximately 5’4” and 115 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing black framed glasses. She is enrolled as a student at Boyle County High School, and was last seen at her school on Wednesday afternoon.
The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was called by the Boyle County Sheriff's Office just before 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 30th and was requested to respond to a residence on Old Hustonville Road after a deceased female was located.
The initial investigation indicated that a Rhonda D. Oakley, 52 years old of Danville, was killed while inside her residence. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Boyle County Coroner, and the cause of death has not been released.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Detective Monte Owens.

KSP Investigates Theft of Equipment in Madison County
The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is investigating a theft of several items from the KY Fish and Wildlife Facility located at 638 Dreyfus Road, north of Berea.
The initial investigation indicates that between August 19th and 22nd, someone entered the service garage and took two Exmark zero turn lawn mowers, a Kawasaki Mule side by side ATV, Husqvarna chainsaw and weed eater, several Dewalt power tools and a Dell desk top computer. The approximate value of the property that was taken totals over $30,000. Anyone with any information about the person(s) responsible for the theft is asked to contact KSP Post 7 at 859-623-2404.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Trooper Ken Bradley.
