Edna C. Burns, 84
Edna C. Burns, age 84, of Friend Drive in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016, at The Terrace in Berea, following a long illness.
She was born February 17, 1932, in Estill County, a daughter of the late Kendal and Clista Slone Gamble. She was a convenience store clerk and had lived in Madison County for the past 30 years. She was a member of the River Drive Christian Church.
Ms. Burns is survived by a daughter, Anna Sue Webb, Carrollton, Kentucky; one son, Donnie Burns, Louisville; two brothers: Edward K. Gamble, Richmond; and Gerald W. Gamble, Independence; one grandchild and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters: Elsie Campbell, Thelma Kerry, and Margie Vaughn; three brothers: Thomas, Shiloh, and Marvin Gamble; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, November 21st at 12 Noon at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Warren Toler with burial following in the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends called after 11 a.m., Monday, until service time, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Steve Gamble, Roger Bowles, Jason Bowles, Brian Vaughn, and Robert Vaughn.
Teresa JoAnn Canter, 55
Teresa JoAnn Canter, age 55, of Elm Street in Ravenna, Kentucky, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, following a long illness.
She was born August 9, 1961, in Estill County, the daughter of Lenvil and Lucille Jamison Canter. She was an assembly line worker with Smuckers and had lived in Estill County all of her life. She was a member of the Irvine First Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is also survived by a brother: Rick Canter, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Memorial services will be conducted Monday, November 28th at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church by Bro. Keith Williams.

Ann Ferguson Hollon, age 58, of Goff Profitt Road, Campton, Kentucky, mother of Isaac Hollon of Irvine, departed this earthly life and went to her Heavenly Home on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
She was the County Extension Agent for Wolfe County and a member of the First Church of God in Jackson.
Mrs. Hollon was born April 11, 1958 in Campton and was the daughter of the late Winford and Dorothy (Profitt) Ferguson.
She is survived by her husband, Reverend Bobby Hollon of Campton; one daughter, Rebekah Bush (Nick) of Campton; one son, Isaac Hollon of Irvine; one sister, Elaine Lovatt (Ken) of Columbus, Ohio; one brother, Timothy Ferguson (Gail) of Campton; and one granddaughter, Madison Danielle Bush.
Funeral services were held on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Church of God, 1772 Hwy 30 West, Jackson, with Stephen D. Bowling officiating. Burial was in the Grassy Lick Cemetery, Grassy Creek. Visitation began on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. at the church.
Deaton Funeral Home of Jackson was in charge of arrangements.
Howard Thomas Peters, 78
Howard Thomas Peters, age 78, of Lee Acres Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016, at his home following a long illness.
He was born June 11, 1938, in Lincoln County, a son of the late Walker and Josephine Manuel Peters. He was an assembly line worker at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and attended the Wagersville Pentecostal Church. He had lived in Estill County all of his life.
Mr. Peters is survived by a sister-in-law, Delma Kerby, Estill County; several nieces and nephews; and four special care givers: Cindy Epperson, Selena Hardy, Montana Jones and Sarah Epperson.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Ida Campbell, Geraldine Wilson, and Mabel Peters; and four brothers: Dale, John, Hubert, and Bob Peters.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, November 20th at 2 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Phillip Smith with burial following in the Turpin Cemetery. Friends called after 12 Noon, Sunday, until service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Cindy Epperson, Selena Hardy, Loretta Mackey, Christopher Epperson, Darrell Spicer Jr., and Kevin C. Hardy.
Honorary pallbearers were Cecil Hardy, Chris Epperson and Darrell Spicer.
Bobby Clinton Isaacs, 78
Bobby Clinton Isaacs, age 78, of Cow Creek Road in Ravenna, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at the Baptist Health Richmond Hospital following a long illness.
He was born July 22, 1938, in Estill County, a son of the late Virgil and Mary Marcum Isaacs. He was the owner of Isaacs Lumber and had lived in Estill County all of his life. He attended the Old Time Baptist Church and was a member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church.
Mr. Isaacs is survived by his wife, Judie Ann Watson Isaacs; two daughters: Jennifer Wiseman (Jay) and Carol Ann Isaacs; two sons: Jeff Isaacs (Tonya) and Ricky Isaacs (Shirley); a sister: Betty Taylor; three brothers: Donnie Isaacs, Charlie Isaacs and Billy Isaacs; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Clinton Isaacs II; and three siblings: Ann Isaacs, Ronnie Isaacs, and Ernest Isaacs.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, November 18th at 1 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Jerry Chaney with burial following in the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m., Thursday, November 17th at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Corey Isaacs, Jay Wiseman, Jeffrey Isaacs, Jon Isaacs, Ricky Isaacs Jr. and Ernest Ray Isaacs.

Wanda Dickerson, 73, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016, at the Stanton Nursing Center.

Anna V. Smith, 67
Anna V. Smith, age 67, of Grindstone Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond following a long illness.
She was born July 23, 1949, in Estill County, a daughter of the late Laffayett and Lana Arvin Smith. She was retired from Trane and had lived in Estill County most of her life. She was a member of the Drip Rock Baptist Church.
Ms. Smith is survived by her husband, Buddy Wayne Lairson; a daughter, Leona Sue Griffin, Estill County; a son, Laffayett Dean Rader, Lexington; one stepdaughter, Brenda Gail Wheeler, Massachusetts; a stepson, Buddy Wayne Lairson Jr., Oklahoma; two sisters: Alma Cain Fowler, Estill County; and Wilma Harris, Lexington; two brothers: Curvin Smith, Lexington; and Eldon Smith, Jackson County; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Keith Carr and Bro. Darrell Isaacs with burial following in the West Bend Cemetery. Friends called after 11 a.m., Tuesday, until service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Billy Christopher, Jerry Abner, Jay Abner, Chris Sizemore, William (Mike) Sizemore and Timothy Sizemore.
William Edward “Ozzie” Campbell, 80
William Edward “Ozzie” Campbell, 80, widower of Imelda Barnes, died Friday, November 11, 2016, at the Marcum Wallace Hospital.
He was a native of Perry County, a son of the late Troy & Edna Campbell. He was a member of the Irvine First Baptist Church.
Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his step-children Greg & Kim Barnes; his brothers Earl & Eugene Campbell; and his sisters: Anna Embry and Lula Campbell.
Survivors include his stepdaughter, Jennifer Barnes; his brother, Junior Campbell (Flo); his sisters: Thelma Embry (Arthur), Rhoda East and Martha Lynch; his dear friends: Walter & Barbara Woosley, Walter Scott & Kimberly Woosley, David Russell, family of the late Mildred Hensley; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 14th, 2016 at Lewis Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Rose and Bro. Paul Luster officiating. Burial followed in the Alexander Cemetery. Friends called anytime after 8:30 a.m. until service time, Monday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Michael Embry, Brian Embry, William Lynch, Jason Coffey, Walter Woosley, and Paul Reed.
Jesse Lutes Jr., 88
Jesse Lutes, Jr., age 88, of Winn Avenue in Winchester, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016, at the Clark County Hospital following a long illness.
He was born September 6, 1928 in Bourbon County and was the son of the late Jesse and Cora Mae Hall Lutes. He was a farmer and had lived in Bourbon County most of his life.
Mr. Lutes is survived by his wife, Louwanda Berryman Lutes; two daughters: Peggy Rice (Steven), Florida; and Pam Lockaby (Daniel), Somerset; two sisters: Virgie Wilson, Madison County; and Margie Richardson, Estill County; one brother: Forrest Lutes, Estill County; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Allene Rose, Betty Patrick and Minnie Johnson; and three brothers: Roy, Johnny and Russell Lutes.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, November 14th at 11 a.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Bobby Stone. Burial was at the Richardson & Lutes Family Cemetery. Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m., Sunday, November 13th at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Keaton Bowling, Sonny Snowden, Arnie Snowden, Glenn Rose, Billy Rose and Dwight Richardson.
Mary “Diane” McCall, 56
Mary “Diane” McCall, age 56, of Winchester, Kentucky, wife of Troy D. Jenkins, passed away Monday, November 7, 2016 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
She was born in Winchester on February 11, 1960, to Cecil and Willa “Jean” Wells McCall. She was a graduate of the Eastern Kentucky University, a social worker for the past three years, and volunteer for community based services for over 10 years.
Other survivors include her daughter, Emerald Moore (Tim) of Winchester; a brother Jim McCall (Dana) of Winchester; a sister, Judy Tuttle of Ravenna; nieces, Alice Tuttle, Amber McCall and Emily McCall Hook; and grandchildren, Draven and Scarlett Moore of Winchester.
Funeral services were held Thursday, November 10th at 2:00 p.m. at the Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, 289 South Main Street. Winchester. The family received friends on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. Burial was in the Clarmont Memorial Gardens.
