Thomas Lee Alcorn, age 85, widower of Cynthia Mae Alcorn, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017, in his home.
He was a native of Estill County, a son of the late Hume and Maude Wells Alcorn. He was loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a gentle man who never said or did anything to hurt anyone. He delighted in serving the Lord. He worked at a sawmill for over forty years, and his expertise was sought after by many, far and wide.
Other than his wife of 58 years Cynthia, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas W. Alcorn; his brothers, Howard and Hume Jr.; and his sisters, Cornelia Hale, Delma Fox, and Mary Sparks.
Survivors include his son, William Alcorn; his daughters, Wilma Alcorn, Donna Alcorn, Sue Watkins (Art), and Debora Fields; his daughter-in-law, Debbie M. Alcorn; his sisters, Mildred Kelly and Juanita Middleton; his grandchildren, Carolyn Boykin (Thomas), Crystal Sieger (Aleksaudr), and Douglas Fields; five great grandchildren; and three great, great grandchildren.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 19th, 2017 at Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals with Bro. Delvin Reece officiating. Burial will follow in the Congelton Cemetery. Friends called from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 18th at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Boykin, Gary Boykin, Lake Townsend, Dougas Fields, Aleksauder Sieger, and Garrett Costantino.
Irene Rose Evans, 89
Irene Rose Evans, age 89, the widow of Albert Evans, passed away Friday morning, April 14, 2017 at Baptist Health in Richmond.
Mrs. Evans was born on September 5, 1927 in Estill County, the daughter of the late David and Cynthia Skinner Rose. She was a homemaker, a retired employee of Gibson Greeting Card in Berea, and was at the time of her death, the oldest living member of The Panola Baptist Church. She loved to quilt, attend church and loved tending to her flowers.
Survivors include one son: Dwight Evans (Rayma Faye); two daughters: Joan Rose (Russell) and Peggy Cox (Larry); one brother: Cledus Rose (Shirley); one sister: Jeanette Oglesby; seven grandchildren: Devonna Halcomb (Brett), Scott Evans, Hope Walton (Eddie), Kim Daugherty (Johnny), Diana Rose, Tina Lynch (James) and Amanda Gibson (Jason); 11 great grandchildren, six great, great grandchildren as well several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son: Michael Evans and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 19, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Ronk and Rev. Marvin Neal officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery at Panola. Visitation was from 5-9 p.m., Tuesday evening, April 18th at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Daugherty, Clint Daugherty, Scott Evans, James Lynch, Rodney Rose, Justin Fritz and Kenneth Richardson.

Danny Birch, age 69, of Winchester, Kentucky, husband to Susan Mobley Birch, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at the Clark Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Winchester, on August 17, 1947, to the late Charlie and Lucille Raney Birch. He was retired from Rockwell International after 25 years of service and attended Christview Christian Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Steve Birch, Chuck Birch (Venessa) and Timothy Mobley (Jessica), brother, Kenneth “Buddy” Birch (Abbie), step-brothers, Doug Christopher (Linda) and Randall Christopher (Joyce), sister-in-law, Teresa Mobley (David), four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 15, at 10 a.m. at the Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, 289 South Main Street, Winchester with Forrest Hahn presiding. The family received friends on Friday, April 14, from 5p-7p at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Danny Hall, James Reed, David Clem, Timothy Mobley and Kevin Birch. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery.
Kelly Renee Flynn Neal, 48
Kelly Renee Flynn Neal, age 48, of Ravenna, Kentucky, died at her residence, Wednesday, April 5, 2017.
She was a Dayton, Ohio native born April 30, 1968, daughter of Verlin and Okra Stamper Flynn.
Survivors include her husband, Jason Leon Neal; and two sons, Joshua Dale Thomas (Katie Grindstaff) and Matthew Wade Neal.
Kelly was cremated and no public service was scheduled.

Jeffery Kirk Harrison, 60
Jeffery Kirk Harrison, 60, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Marcum and Wallace Hospital.
A native of Fort Polk, Louisiana, born November 29, 1956, he was the son of William Jennings and Ailene Woods Harrison. The "Sports Dad," he enjoyed fishing, doing his job, driving his bus and taking care of children.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Elaine Chandler Harrison.
Survivors include his daughters, Shelby Culton (Justin) and Holly Harrison; a son, Matthew Harrison (Meredith); sisters Sherry Dawes (Roger) and Karen Jo Fielder; a grandson, Ethan Harrison; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were private.
Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals was in charge of arrangements.
Danny Lowell Reynolds, 70
Danny Lowell Reynolds, age 70, of Twin Creek Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, following a long illness.
He was born August 3, 1946 in Boyd County, Kentucky, and was the son of Ruth Scott Reynolds and the late Glen L. Reynolds. He was a retired Tokico employee and had lived in Estill County most of his life. He was a member of the Cow Creek Baptist Church and a former Mason.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include one daughter, Lisa Reynolds Edge (Johnathon), Midway; one son, Daniel Scott Reynolds (Rebecca), Bowling Green; two sisters: Carol Ann Haller and Bo McCreary (Jim), both of Irvine; and four grandchildren: Anna Elizabeth Edge, Lucas Cash Edge, Caroline Rose Edge and Elle Marie Reynolds.
He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Steve Haller III.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, April 12, 1 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Greg McClellan. Burial was at the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends called after 12 Noon, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Daniel Scott Reynolds, Johnathon Edge, Steve Haller, IV, Johnny Masters, Jimmy McCreary and Jeff McCreary.
Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren.
In Lieu of Flowers, donations suggested to the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.

Rebecca Ann Hardy Dixon, age 51, of Richmond, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017.
She was born in Irvine, Kentucky, on October 12, 1965, to Glendon Hardy and the late Darlene Norton Hardy. Rebecca worked as a nurse’s aid with home-health, and was known as a compassionate, fun loving individual.
In addition to her father, Rebecca is survived by her two daughters, Emily Dixon-Kays (Cory) and Shelbie Dixon; one brother, Greg Hardy; three sisters, Jennifer Tipton, Kathy Turner, and Robin Turpin. Rebecca was anxiously awaiting the birth of her first grandson, Lincoln Kays, in July.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Hardy, and her long-time partner, Larry Dale Gray Jr.
Funeral Services were conducted at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, 328 West Main Street, Richmond, with Bro. Joey Kays officiating. Visitation was after 4 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Bobby Wayne Sloane was born on December 8, 1958, in Fayette County, Kentucky, the son of the late Johnny Brooks and Lillian Jones and departed this life at his residence on Friday, April 7, 2017, being 58 years, 3 months and 30 days of age. He was a construction backhoe operator and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by seven siblings, Phillip Jones (Claudia Butler) of London, Gene Jones (Audrey), Penny Brooks (Shane), both of Mt. Sterling; Johnny Brooks (Julie), Megan Parks (Tim), Michelle Brooks, all of Irvine; and Brenda Sloane of Covington; one granddaughter, Makala Fergerson of Richmond; his stepmother, Betty Brooks of Irvine; his long-time companion, Joetta Woolery and her children, Joseph and Kimberly Woolery, all of Winchester; plus a host of nieces and nephews and other friends and relatives to mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his daughter, Heather Lynn Fergerson.
Funeral services for Bobby Wayne Sloane were conducted at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, April 9th in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel, London, Kentucky, with Rev. Charlie Hollin officiating. The family received friends at the funeral home after 3:00 p.m., Sunday until the funeral hour.

Bonnie Mae Stone, age 87, of Cressy Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017, at the Markey Cancer Center.
She was born January 1, 1930 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Harry and Florence Embry Riddell. She was a homemaker and a retired employee of the Continental Baking Company. She was a member of the Ivory Hill Baptist Church and formerly a member of the Grace Baptist Church.
Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Jackson Stone.
She is survived by one daughter, Judith Elaine Stone Marwil (David), Lexington; two brothers: David Paul Riddell, Middletown, Ohio; and Larry Jack Riddell, Irvine; four grandchildren: Joseph Marwil, Isaac Marwil, Jacob Marwil and Misha Brown; two great grandchildren three great, great grandchildren.
Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by one son, Michael Lloyd Stone and seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 11, 1 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Terrence Freeman and Rev. Mike Hetrick. Burial was at the Sally Poore Cemetery. Friends called after 12 Noon, Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Jewell Dean Aldridge, age 82, of Meade Drive in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at her home following a long illness.
She was born April 5, 1935 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late William Columbus and Susan Horn Flanery. She was a homemaker and a member of the Christian Assembly of God.
Mrs. Aldridge was preceded in death by her husband, William Chester Aldridge, Jr.
She is survived by two sons: Thomas Lee Aldridge (Mary), Colorado; and William Charles Aldridge (Brenda), Irvine; three sisters: Martha Frisbee, Tennessee; Gloria Newman, Newport; and Norma Flanery, Winchester; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Mrs. Aldridge was preceded in death by one daughter, Leslie Carol Lee; one sister, Betty Flanery; and two brothers, James and Lindburg Flanery.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 10, 1 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Scott Barnes. Burial was at the South Irvine Cemetery. Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m., Sunday, April 9th at the funeral home.

Timothy Joe Henry, age 54, of Timberland Trail in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at his home following a sudden illness.
He was born August 25, 1962 in Estill County and was the son of the late Marvin Allen and Della Mae Puckett Henry. He was owner of Henry Construction Company and had lived in Estill County all his life. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
Mr. Henry is survived by one daughter, Abigail Faith Henry, Estill County; two sons: Brian Joe Henry, Estill County; and Brandon Henry, Madison County; one sister, Debbie Walling (Jack), Estill County; three brothers: Greg Henry (Debbie), Jeff Henry (Della), and Jeff Gould (Robin), all of Estill County; and two grandchildren: Kaden Joe Henry and Braden Joe Henry.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Noe.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, April 8, p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Mason Horn. Burial was at the Puckett Cemetery. Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m., Friday, April 7th at the funeral home.

A native of Richmond, Kentucky, he was a son of the late James P. and Rebecca Sparks Martin. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Mr. Martin is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Martin; special friend, Lisa Riddell; brothers, James P. Martin II (Peggy) and Ralph Martin; sisters, Rebecca Dice (Jack) and Jamie Ballard (Gary); and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass was held at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church on Saturday, April, 8th at 11 a.m. Friends called anytime after 10 a.m., Saturday, at the church.

Arlie Townsend, age 64, passed away Monday, April 3, 2017, at Baptist Health, Lexington, Kentucky.
He was born October 8, 1952 in Lee County and was the son of the late Charlie and Edith Cole Townsend. He had worked in the oil fields and the log woods and lived in Lee County most of his life.
Mr. Townsend is survived by his wife, Mafrey McIntosh Townsend; one son, Michael McIntosh (Lisa), Lee County; and four grandchildren: Mickeal Ambers, Nathaniel Ambers, Jaden Williams and Jocelyn Townsend.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Curtis Jefferson Rose, age 86, of Irvine, Kentucky, died Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.
He was born February 5, 1931 in Berea, Kentucky to the late Albert and Mattie Holland Rose. He served as a safe builder (Hamilton, Ohio), had been a resident of Kentucky for over 30 years, and he attended the Bear Wallow Holiness Church.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Lula Belle Shelton Rose; daughter, Evelyn Lavone Lear; one sister, Evelyn Lear; and brothers, John Allen Rose, Alex Rose and Earl Gene Rose.
He is survived by three children, Searie Hutchins, Della Abrams, and Marvin Rose (Lisa); nine grandchildren, Robin, Renaye, Tasha, Alisha, Mindy, Destiny, Jerry, David and Lindsey, 14 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
The funeral service in honor of Curtis Jefferson Rose was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at Reppert Funeral Home in Berea, with burial at the family cemetery. The famiily received visitors from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.

SBA Offers Disaster Assistance to Residents of Kentucky Affected by Severe Thunderstorms, Tornadoes, Winds and Hail
Kentucky businesses and residents affected by severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, winds and hail from Feb. 28 through March 1, 2017 can apply for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration, SBA Administrator Linda E. McMahon announced today.
McMahon made the loans available in response to a letter on March 16 from Michael E. Dossett, Authorized Representative of Gov. Matthew Bevin, requesting a disaster declaration by the SBA. The declaration covers Estill County and the adjacent counties of Clark, Jackson, Lee, Madison and Powell in Kentucky.
"The SBA is strongly committed to providing the people of Kentucky with the most effective and customer-focused response possible to assist businesses of all sizes, homeowners and renters with federal disaster loans," said McMahon. "Getting businesses and communities up and running after a disaster is our highest priority at SBA."
SBA's customer service representatives will be available at the Disaster Loan Outreach Center to answer questions about the disaster loan program and help individuals complete their applications. The Center is located in the following community and is open as indicated:

Businesses and private nonprofit organizations may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace disaster damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory, and other business assets.
For small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofit organizations, the SBA offers Economic Injury Disaster Loans to help meet working capital needs caused by the disaster. Economic Injury Disaster Loan assistance is available regardless of whether the business suffered any physical property damage.
Loans up to $200,000 are available to homeowners to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate. Homeowners and renters are eligible for loans up to $40,000 to repair or replace damaged or destroyed personal property.
Applicants may be eligible for a loan amount increase up to 20 percent of their physical damages, as verified by the SBA for mitigation purposes. Eligible mitigation improvements may now include a safe room or storm shelter to help protect property and occupants from future damage caused by a similar disaster.
Interest rates are as low as 3.15 percent for businesses, 2.5 percent for nonprofit organizations, and 1.875 percent for homeowners and renters with terms up to 30 years. Loan amount and terms are set by the SBA and are based on each applicant's financial condition.

The filing deadline to submit applications for physical property damage is May 19, 2017. The deadline for economic injury applications is Dec. 20, 2017.
