Burgoyne Richardson

    Burgoyne Richardson was born May 2, 1933 in Jackson County, Kentucky and departed this life December 21, 2017 at the Marcum-Wallace Hospital in Irvine, being 84 years of age. He was the son of the late Levi and Mollie (Bonter) Richardson.
    He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Mays Richardson of McKee; and by the following children: Diana Creech, Tennessee; Betty Stacy (David) of McKee; Troy Richardson (Lisa) of McKee; and Scott Richardson, Dayton, Ohio. He is also survived by one brother, Hume Richardson, Madison County; and by ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great grandchild.
    Burgoyne was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters: Ralph Richardson, BassLee Richardson, Pauline Grigsby, Irene Goodlender and Zella McKinney.
    He was a member of the Old Orchard Baptist Church.
    Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 26, at the Lakes Funeral Home, 1181 Main Street South, McKee, with Brother Vence Mullins officiating, with burial following in Richardson Family Cemetery.

Teddy Ray Rose, 57

    Teddy Ray Rose, age 57, of Grindstone Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, following a long illness.
    He was born September 15, 1960, in Estill County, a son of Anna Ruth Dawes Rose and the late Virgil J. Rose. He was a self-employed railroad contractor working with the Bluegrass Ordinance and had lived in Estill County most of his life. He was a member of the Christian Faith.
    In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Michelle Lynn Conrad Rose; three daughters: Wynena Willis (Lucas), Richmond; DaMeida Rogers (Joey), Irvine; and Ashley Sanderson (Joel), Florida; a son, Steven Smith, Florida; one sister, Tammy Walling (Russell), Irvine; two brothers: Terry Rose (Wilma), Irvine; and Tony Wayne Rose (Donna), Richmond; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 27, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call between 6 and 9 p.m., Tuesday, December 26th at the funeral home.

Richard Darrell Lainhart, 78

    Richard Darrell Lainhart, 78, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017 at his home.
    He was born on December 26, 1938 in Estill County, the son of the late Elmer and Ora Richardson Lainhart. He was a farmer, a retired employee of IBM and was of the Christian faith.
    Survivors include his daughter: Lisa Marie Hines (Kevin); one brother: Teddy Lainhart; two sisters: Judy Parido (Paul) and Sue Eden (Donald); two grandchildren: Max Allen Hines and Katelynn Marie Hines; one great-grandchild: Jayden Wheeler and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
    Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at The Red Hill Cemetery at Panola, Kentucky with Rev. Sherl Thomas officiating. Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Barbara Wade Haggard Mink, 74

    Barbara Wade Haggard Mink, 74, of Irvine, Kentucky, died Monday, December 18, 2017 at the Irvine Nursing Home .
    She was born December 28, 1942 in Estill County. Barbara was an Estill County native and a business women in both Irvine and Richmond. She'll be dearly missed by her family and friends.
    Survivors include: two sons, Shawn Tipton (Jennifer) of Waco and Jeremy Tipton of Irvine; one brother, Sam Scott (Sharon) of Irvine; one sister, Linda Scott of Berea; two grandchildren, Tyler Tipton (Chelsea) of Richmond and Lauren Tipton of Waco.
    She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Embry Lilly; and her stepfather, Milton Lilly.
    Services will be private.

Judy May Hale Hackworth, 76

    Judy May Hale Hackworth, age 76, of Berea, Kentucky, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017, at home.
    Born April 19, 1941, in Estill County, she was the daughter of Bud and Effie Sparks Hale, both of whom preceded her in death. She was the widow of David Allen Hackworth and was also preceded in death by two sons, David Curtis and Owen Golden Hackworth as well as two brothers, Buddy Bob Hale and Gary Hale. She was homemaker and former employee of Big K.
    Survivors include three sons: Allen Hackworth (Shirley), Phillip Wayne Hackworth, and Charles Biggs; two daughters: Tammie Combs (Al) and Judy Brooks (Jim); two brothers: Bev Hale and Phillip Hale; ten grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and one on the way. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and friends to mourn her passing.
    Visitation for Mrs. Hackworth will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 21, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, 1110 Barnes Mill Road, Richmond, followed by a graveside service at the Pearson Cemetery on Dodd Road.

Dave Allen Isaacs

    Dave Allen Isaacs was born November 15, 1976 in Fayette County, Kentucky, and departed this life Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the University of Louisville, being 41 years age. He was the son of Debbie Isaacs of McKee and of the late Johnny Isaacs.
    In addition to his mother, Dave is also survived by his wife, Lisa Isaacs of Irvine; and a daughter, Destini Ray Isaacs of McKee. He is also survived by his grandmother, Lillian Skinner of McKee; aunts, Joannie and Becky Skinner; and uncles, Billy and Kent Skinner.
    The funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 15, at Lakes Funeral Home in McKee, with Bro. Brian Gabbard officiating. Burial followed in the Isaacs Cemetery.

Virgie Mills Curtis

    Virgie Mills Curtis, 71, Winchester, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington.
    A native of Clark County, she was born on February 17, 1946, to Roy and Mary Patrick Mills. She was a retired federal government clerk, a member of Eastern Star and a member of Central Baptist Church, where she signed for many years.
    She is survived by two daughters, Tammy (Richard) Marsh and Susann (Doug) Hardin; five grandchildren, Kyle Keefe, Nathan Keefe, Paxten Shell, Kaitlyn Marsh and Taytum Hardin; one sister, Wanda (Titus) White; two nephews, Harold (Stephanie) Jones and their children and Ronnie Jones.
    Services were at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Scobee Funeral Home by Pastor Kevin Brian. Burial was in Winchester Cemetery. Visitation was from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
    Pallbearers were Kyle Keefe, Nathan Keefe, Harold Jones, Rick Marsh, Billy Joe Wasson and Doug Hardin.
    Honorary pallbearers were Taytum Hardin and Bobby Curtis.

Mrs. Della Mae Coyle Rose

    Della Mae Coyle Rose, age 96, of Irvine, Kentucky, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great, great grandmother, fell asleep in death in the loving arms of her children on Friday, December 15, 2017.
    She was born in Estill County on September 18, 1921 to the late Wilce and Amanda Logston Coyle.
    She was proceeded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Raymond Rose; also brothers, Dewey, Ralph, Albert, Hampton and Esmer Coyle; and sisters, Anna Douglas, Emma Cates, Loraine Rose, and Hazel Rose. She was a lifelong homemaker and a loving wife and mother. Her family, Raymond, and their children, were the most important part of her life. She was an adoring wife, and devoted mother and grandmother. She was admired for her warmth, tenderness, loving gentle spirit and great strength her entire life.
    She is survived by her three children: Phyllis Wyse, Ken Rose (Beverly), and Judie Albrecht (Richard); and two sisters, Verna Hurt and Imogene Richardson (Roy). She was blessed by five grandchildren, Sandra, Teresa, Tina, Kevin and Toyna; 16 great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild and many dear friends.
    She was precious to everyone who was close to her. She was beloved by her children and their spouses and her grandchildren for all of the time she spent with them. She was always happiest when cooking dinner surrounded by her family. She was a devout member of the Beaver Pond Christian Church for most of her life.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 19, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Linville Dunaway and Bro. Glendon Mays officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be after 12:00 noon, Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Lucille Wilson Birch, 92

    Lucille Wilson Birch, 92, of Winchester, Kentucky, widow of Charlie A. Birch, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at the Clark Regional Medical Center.
    A native of Clark County, she was born October 2, 1925, to the late Walter and Florence Hackworth Wilson. She was a member of the Christview Christian Church.
    Mrs. Birch is survived by two sons: Doug Christopher (Linda) of Winchester and Randall Christopher (Joyce) of Irvine, a stepson, Kenneth Birch (Abby) of Somerset; a stepdaughter-in-law, Susan Birch of Winchester; four grandchildren: Angela Schanding (Brent), Stacey Dattilo (Mike), Kyle Christopher (Kelly) and Blake Christopher; and five great grandchildren: Tirzah Grace Schanding, Naomi Faith Schanding, Nathan Christopher Dattilo, Rachel Hope Dattilo and Anna Joy Dattilo.
    She was preceded in death by a stepson, Danny Birch.
    Funeral service will be Monday, December 18, at 1:00 p.m. at the Christview Christian Church, 3133 New Boonesboro Road, Winchester, with Forrest Hahn presiding. Visitation will be Monday from 11a.m. until the hour of service at the church. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery.

Bonnie Jean Ballard Arthur, 83

    Bonnie Jean Ballard Arthur, age 83, widow of Jearl Dean Arthur, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Windsor Care Center in Mount Sterling, Kentucky.
    She was born in Powell County, on August 21, 1934 to the late Elza and Grace Barnes Ballard. She retired from GTE Sylvania and was a KY Colonel. She also was a member of the Powell County and Estill County Historical Societies and a member of First Church of God.
    She is survived by one daughter, Leah Thompson (Kenny); three sons: Micheal Dean Arthur, Glenn Steven Arthur, and Mark Arthur (Marcia); eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three sisters: Pat Rainey, Lois Thares, and Ester Hall; one brother, Lloyd Ballard; and several nieces and nephews.
    Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 15, at Scobee Funeral Home, 219 West Lexington Avenue, Winchester. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 14, at the funeral home.

Loveda Allen Walton Farthing, 77

    Loveda Allen Walton Farthing, age 77, of Wisemantown Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Monday, December 11, 2017, at her home, following a long illness.
    She was born March 27, 1940, in Estill County, a daughter of the late Carroll Allen and Lettie Gambrel Walton. She retired from Westinghouse where she was an inspector and had lived in Estill County all her life. She was a member of the Crooked Creek Christian Church and a former member of the Eastern Star.
    Mrs. Farthing was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Harvey Farthing.
    She is survived by one daughter, Rosemary F. Eveland (Mike Kirby), Estill County; one son, Tommy L. Farthing (Carol), Estill County; two sisters: Irma Abner and Laura McIntosh, both of Montgomery County; a brother, Glendon Walton, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great, great hrandchild.
    Mrs. Farthing was preceded in death by one son, Emmons Dale Farthing Sr., and a brother, Colettis Walton.
    Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 16, 11:00 a.m. at the Crooked Creek Christian Church by Bro. Allen Epperson with burial to follow in the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends may call between 6 and 9 p.m., Friday, December 15th at Warren F. Toler Funeral Home and after 10 a.m., Saturday, at the church.

Billy Boian, 85

    Billy Boian, 85, widower of Elsie Curtis Boian, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2017.
    He was a native of Estill County, born December 27, 1931, a son of the late Earl and Allie Tuttle Boian. He was a pastor at the Dug Hill Pentecostal Church and a Marine Corp veteran.
    He was preceded in death by his sister, Elsie Arvin.
    Survivors include his sons: Wallace Boian and James Boian (Shelia); his daughters: Kimberly St. Savior (Jerry) and Dixie Lea (Carl); and his grandchildren: Jeremiah Boian, Logan Parks, Dakota Lawson, and Dylan Warner.
    Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 15, at the Lewis Abner Home for Funerals with Bruce Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Boian Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 1:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
