Charles Thomas Williams,71
Barbara Kate Williams, 69
Charles Thomas Williams, age 71, and his wife, Barbara Kate Williams, age 69, of Hood Avenue in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018.
Charles was born May 14, 1946 in Clark County and was the son of the late Charles Jr. and Alma Berry Williams. He was a retired Trane Company employee and had lived in Estill County most of his life. He attended the White Oak Church of God and formerly served as pastor of the Chavis First Church of God and Flemingsburg First Church of God.
He is survived by a sister, Nancy Held (Mike).
Barbara was born April 13, 1949 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Charlie and Scottie Riddell Neal. She was a homemaker and had lived in Estill County all her life.
She is survived by four sisters: Clara Donahue, Hester White, Essie Gordon and Roetta Hackworth.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by three siblings: Edith Hall, Myrtle Miller and Norman Neal.
Charles and Barbara were preceded in death by their daughter, Rebecca Mae Williams; and are survived by their son, Anthony Thomas Williams (Tonya) and one grandchild, Hannah Mae Williams.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 21, 11:00 a.m., at the White Oak Church of God by Bro. Glennis Sizemore, Bro. Glyndon Woosley and Bro. David Watson. Burial will be at the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m., Tuesday, February 20th at the church.
Arrangements were entrusted to Warren F. Toler Funeral Home.
Daniel Boone Ball Sr., 81

Daniel Boone Ball Sr., age 81 of New Tazewell, Tennessee, formerly of Harlan, Kentucky, went to Heaven on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at his home with family by his bedside.
Dan was born April 6, 1936 in Harlan County, Kentucky, to the late Hayward and Edna L. Ball. He was lifelong carpenter who did work all over Harlan County and surrounding areas for years. He was a saved man and was a member of the Elcomb Baptist Church and enjoyed singing Gospel Music.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Patsy L. Ball; two sisters, Betty Wingo and Barbara Jones; and a grandson, Aaron D. Hensley Ball.
Surviving is his sister, Margaret Hammonds of New Tazewell, Tennessee; children, Daniel Boone Ball Jr. (Cindy) of Irvine, Terrie Lynn Ward of Rockfield, Bill Duane Ball and James Michael Ball, both of New Tazewell, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends are left to mourn his passing.
Visitation was after 11:00 a.m. Sunday, February, February 18, until the funeral hour at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home, 111 South 3rd Street, Harlan, followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m., in the Chapel with Pastor George Henard officiating.
Burial followed in the Ball Family Cemetery in New Tazewell, Tennessee, with Jerry Hall, Steve Hendrickson, Jim Wilhoit, Christopher Greene, Koda Jones, and Sheldon Cassetty serving as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers were Ken Bowling and Michael Ball.

Pauline Clayton, age 85, of New Lebanon, Ohio, sister of Alvin Pitts of Irvine, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018.
Born April 22, 1932, she was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Steven and Lula Profitt Pitts; a brother, Harold Pitts; and a son-in-law, Hank Kettler.
Pauline is survived by her husband, William T. Clayton; three sons, James William Clayton, Thomas Lee Clayton, and Bobby Eugene Clayton (Jenny); two daughters, Nancy Back (Donald) and Madonna Sue Kettler; nine grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; three siblings, Alvin Pitts (Margaret), Leona Vickers (Andrew), and Betsie Simkins (Howard).
A visitation was on Wednesday, February 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rogers' Funeral Home, 324 West Main Street, New Lebanon, Ohio. The funeral service began at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 22 at the funeral home with Pastor Kelly Scott Moler officiating. Burial followed at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens, Brookville.

Mary Neal Wilson Davis, age 87, widow of Billy White Davis, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
She was a native of Neon, Kentucky, born September 18, 1930, a daughter of the late Henry Evan an Emma Elizabeth Johnson Wilson. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Providence Baptist Church. Mary enjoyed sewing, and knitting, and being active in her church.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in by her brother, J.P. Wilson.
Survivors include her daughter, Terry Edwards; her son, Roy E. Davis (Laura); her grandchildren: Billy Edwards (Monica), Becky Timberlake (Ricky), Andrea Davis, and Evan Davis; her great grandchildren: Will Edwards, Emily Edwards, Bradley Timberlake, and Marie Timberlake; her sister, Alice Honchell; her brother, Jim Wilson, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation began at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, at Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals. Services were held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 14th at the funeral home. Burial was in Oakdale Cemetery.
Albert Dewayne Hawkins, 41
Albert Dewayne Hawkins, age 41, of Tipton Ridge in Ravenna, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital, following a short illness.
He was born April 26, 1976 in Estill County and was the son of the late Albert Hawkins and Peggy Lee Bowles Murphy. He was an employee of Leggett & Platt and attended the The Well in Richmond. He had lived in Estill County all his life.
Mr. Hawkins is survived by his girlfriend of 15 years, Renae Hudson; four sisters: April Merrell (Stanley), Winchester; Lisa Kilburn (Jeff), Chasity Roe (Stevie), both of Irvine; and Keshia Murphy-Higgins, Ravenna; four nieces, three nephews and two step-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Wayne Hawkins.
Memorial services were conducted Thursday, February 15, 1 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Terry Barnes. Friends called after 11:00 a.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
Suette Morguson, 77

Suette Morguson, age 77, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018 at University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
She was born in Estill County on February 3, 1941, to the late Bergin and Dovie Woods Tuttle. She was retired from Square D. Company where she worked for more than 23 years. She was a Cincinnati Reds and University of Kentucky Basketball fan. Mrs. Morguson enjoyed puzzles, front porch sitting, time spent talking with neighbors, and gardening.
Survivors include her daughter, Anna Ruth Morguson; six grandchildren: David Morguson, Brett Morguson, Kayla Ellis (Justice), Whitney Tipton, Riley Morguson and Austin Tipton; and three great grandchildren: Haven Morguson, Bentley Holder and Knox Ellis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Allen Morguson.
Services were at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 14, at Scobee Funeral Home, 219 West Lexington Avenue, Winchester, by Pastor Ron Ingram. Burial was at the Tuttle and Woods Cemetery in Irvine. Visitation was from 1:00 p.m. until time of service, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Brett Morguson, David Morguson, Austin Tipton, Riley Morguson, Rich Jenks, Leonard Beltz, Don Chaplin and Gerald Patrick.
Betty Hovermale Haynes, 89

Betty Hovermale Haynes, age 89, wife of Robert Haynes Jr., died Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
Born November 13, 1928 in Morgan County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Al Y. and May Cecil Carter Hovermale. Mrs. Haynes was a University of Kentucky graduate, a retired appeals officer for the Internal Revenue Service, and a CPA. She formerly attended Beaumont Presbyterian Church.
Survivors, other than her husband, include a daughter, Patricia Arthur Miller, Lexington; three grandchildren, Leigh Galloway, Louisville; Samantha Arthur, Alabama; and Daniel Arthur, Texas; two stepsons, Joel Haynes, Montana; and Mark Haynes, Las Vegas, Nevada; a step-grandson, Jesse Webster, Frankfort; three step-granddaughters, Annalise Haynes, Oregon; Kaitlin Haynes and Courtney Haynes, both of Montana; two sisters, Peggy Wilson and Janis Wiseman, both of Irvine; a special niece, Peggy Lou Frazeur; and three special caregivers, Tammy Horton, Beverly Reed and Tom Berryman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Dale Alan Arthur; a stepdaughter, Melissa Haynes; and a brother, Bobby Hovermale.
She was loved by all.
A graveside service was held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, January 27, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Irvine. Visitation was 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 27th at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, prior to the graveside service.

Stephanie Lynn Walters, age 44, of Old Fox Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018, at her home following a long illness.
She was born March 7, 1973 in Estill County and was the daughter of Harold Gene and Linda Lou Warner Johnson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethel Christian Church and the Estill County Lions Club. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
Survivors, in addition to her father and mother, include her husband, Thomas Edward Walters; two daughters: Michaela Walters Cole (Jared) and Anna Marie Walters, both of Estill County; one son, Robbie Walters, Estill County; one sister: Beth Isaacs (Kurt), Estill County; two grandchildren: Easton Clay Cole and Baby Cole; and a sister of the heart, Connie Curtis.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, February 14, 11:00 a.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Bill Curtis. Burial was at the Steve Walters Cemetery. Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m., Tuesday, February 13th at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Robbie Walters, Jared Cole, Billy Walters, Dustin Moore, Eddie Walters and Jeremy Miller.
Honorary pallbearers were Easton Cole, Baby Cole, the Ladies Group of Bethel Christian Church and the Estill County Lions Club members

Blake Edward Waugh, age 31, of Clay City, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018 in Clay City.
He was born July 19, 1986 in Floyd County, Kentucky to Donald "Ticker" Waugh & the late Sherry Sparkman.
Along with his father, he is survived by his sons: Joshua Gossett of Somerset and Blake Edward Waugh II of Irvine; a daughter, Lamieria Faith Lee Waugh of Irvine; four brothers: Brent Sparkman, Dewey Paul Hall, Bradley Waugh, all of Hindman; and Meredith Waugh of Clay City two sisters: Christie Browning of Clay City and Makayla Jacobs of Knott County; and a special friend, Cassandra Brandenburg.
Along with his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Johnathan Sparkman.
He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 12, at 12 Noon at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, 7 Clinic Drive, Martin, Kentucky. Visitation was on Saturday, February 10th at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and all day Sunday. Officiating will be Old Regular Baptist Ministers. Burial was in the Hicks Cemetery, Dema, Kentucky.

Ronald Benjamin McKinney, age 69

Ronald Benjamin McKinney, age 69, went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2018 at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
Ron was born on Barnes Mountain, March 29, 1948 in Irvine, to Benjamin and Lucy Mae McKinney.
He is survived by a sister, Shirley McKinney Brandt of Riverside, California; and two brothers: Dannie McKinney (Debbie and grandson Cameron Hoke) of Irvine; and James McKinney (Joyce) of Vancouver, Washington.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Martillie Jayne Rich and one grandson, Zachary Scott McKinney Grensavitch.
Survivors include his wife, Linda McKinney, his mother-in-law, Dolores Brown; one daughter, Kim McKinney and Todd Mattingly; two sons: Ronald McKinney Jr. (Genia) and Scott McKinney (and friend Chad Wootly); three grandchildren: Kori Rison (Josh), Ronni McKinney (Braeden Brooks), and Savannah Sparks (Tyler); three great grandchildren: Rylee Jayne Hoke, Braelynn Sarai Hoke and Noah Carter Rison.
Ron loved his family and loved living in Kentucky. He had a dream of always coming back to Kentucky from California. He has many friends and relatives here and loved every one of them.
There was a Celebration of Life on Thursday, the 15th of February, at Christian Worship Center at 6:00 p.m. with a dinner following.
He was a man of many talents owning several businesses in California. He also enjoyed the opportunity of farming in Kentucky. He loved the Lord and had unconditional love for everyone. His family will miss him very much, but, know he is in a much better place.
Barbara Ann Gray, 72
Barbara Ann Gray, age 72, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018, at the Irvine, Kentucky, Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was a native of Estill County, born July 25, 1945, a daughter of the late Robert and Mattie Gross Gray. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church.
Ms. Gray was preceded in death by her siblings: Columbus Gray, Hersel Gray, Buford Odell Gray, Bertha Hoover, Gracie Gilbert, Nancy Rose, Minnie Combs, Agnes Means, and Katherine Henry.
Survivors include her sisters, Maggie Brinegar and Lillie Hoover; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Tuesday, February 13, at 2:00 p.m., at Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals. Friends called anytime after 6:00 p.m., Monday, February 12th at the funeral home. Burial was in the Hoover Cemetery at Barnes Mountain.
William R. "Bill" Lane, 93

William R. "Bill" Lane, age 93, died Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at his home in Lexington, Kentucky, after a short illness.
A long-time Lexington resident, Bill was born near Fitchburg, Kentucky on July 15, 1924 to Mitchell Clay and Minnie Lou Lane (Bellamy). He enlisted in the US Army at the age of 17 and served in the 281th Field Artillery Battalion during World War II as a component of the Third Army. Upon his return to Kentucky in 1946, he started working as a carpenter-foreman in the construction industry eventually managing several large building projects. He founded Lane, White, & Congleton, Co., and later, Lane-Hargett Construction Company and TRACO Construction Co. where he served as President for many years. Some of his most notable construction projects include: Hemlock Lodge at Natural Bridge State Park, Ft. Boonesboro State Park and Campground, and several others on the campuses of UK and EKU. He served on the Board of the Department of Housing, Buildings, and Construction from 1981 to 1985 and was a founding member of the Associated General Contractors of Kentucky. An avid fisherman and gardener, he always enjoyed spending time outdoors and watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren at school and sporting events.
Married over 71 years, he is survived by his wife, Mary Arlie; a brother, Elmer George Lane; a daughter, Brenda Sue Williams (Mark Huston); a daughter-in-law, Debbie Lane, two grandsons, Robert Huston Williams (Courtney) and William Robert "Trey" Lane III (Jodie); a granddaughter, Megan Elane Brown, (Matthew); and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, William Robert "Billy" Lane Jr., and a granddaughter, Trista Lane Hail.
Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 8, with a funeral service at 10 a.m. Friday, both at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home located at 463 East Main Street in Lexington, with burial following in Lexington Cemetery.
Donations suggested to Bluegrass Care Navigators (formerly Hospice) or the ALS Chapter of Kentucky.
Agnes Moore, 92
Agnes Moore, age 92, of Sandhill Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, following a long illness.
She was born October 18, 1925 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Charlie and Gussie Winkler Thomas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sandhill Christian Church. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Moore.
She is survived by one daughter, Sherron Pace (Phillip), Estill County; one son, Doug Moore, Estill County; two grandchildren: Gina Akers (Rudy) and James Dwayne Neal (Cheryl), and three great grandchildren: Zack Neal, Addison Akers and Dylan Neal.
Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by one brother, Chester Thomas.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, February 9, 1:00 p.m., at the Sandhill Christian Church by Bro. Ronald Lutes and Bro. Matt Vaught. Burial was at the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m., Thursday, February 8th at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home and after 12 Noon, Friday, at the Church.
Pallbearers were Zack Neal, Dylan Neal, Dwayne Neal, Donnie Webb, Lonnie Webb and Junior Riddell.
Honorary pallbearers were Rudy Akers, Phillip Pace and Kenneth Winkler.
Peggy Lynn Walling, 71

Peggy Lynn Walling, age 71, wife of the late Glenn Walling, died on Monday, February 5, 2018.
She was the daughter of the late Hugh and Elena Reese and sister of the late Joe Reese and Dwight "Ike" Reese. She was a member of Northview Baptist Church.
Mrs. Walling is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Ann Walling; her grandchildren, Zachary G. Walling, Jacob M. Walling and Tiffany Parsons; her great grandchildren, Eden, Isla, and Truett Parsons; and her sister, Barbara Hunt.
Visitation was Saturday, February 10, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with funeral at 1:00 p.m. at Milward-Broadway, 159 North Broadway, Lexington. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Vesteen Holliman, age 86, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 at her residence. Vesteen was born July 7, 1931, the daughter of the late Steve and Verna Lee Caudill Adams. She was the widow of Ernest Holliman.
Surviving are six sons: Danny Holliman of Irvine, Bill Holliman of Harlan, Mike Holliman of Irvine, Johnny Holliman of Winchester, Phillip Holliman of Mckee, Dwayne Holliman of Mooresburg Tennessee; one daughter, Verna Lee Green of Georgia; one brother, Ronnie Adams of Johnson City, Tennessee; along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Ernest Holliman Jr.
Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m., Sunday February 4, at the Mt. Olivet Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating. Visitation began at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, February 3rd at the church. Burial followed in the Horsemill Point Cemetery.

Donald Lewis 'Don' Spicer, 77

Donald Lewis 'Don' Spicer, 77, of Miamisburg, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018.
He was born December 15, 1940 in Ravenna, Kentucky, the son of Lewis and Meldavine (Sparks) Spicer.
Don graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He then went on to graduate from the University of New Hampshire in Durham, New Hampshire with a Masters in Chemistry and Math. Don worked for Centerville City Schools for many years teaching chemistry and for Miamisburg City Schools teaching science. He also worked for several years at Monsanto as a chemist. Don was a member of the Ravenna Church of God in Kentucky and the Irvine Masonic Lodge #137 F. & A.M. He enjoyed golf, tennis, fishing, swimming, and his rock collection from many travels around the world. Don loved to hunt and enjoyed his traditional hunting trip to Montana.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Wilma Jean Spicer; daughter, Connie Hetzler (Kevin) ; granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth DeBlock (Ryan); siblings, Opal Clouse and Beulah Mays; a brother-in-law, A.J. Phillips (Barbara); and numerous nieces and nephews; as well as a host of friends.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Arthur James, Anthony Wayne, Harold Glenn, Johnny Walker, and Benjamin Spicer.
A funeral service was held at 12 Noon on Saturday, February 3, at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg with Michael Holland officiating. The family received friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m.to service time at 12 Noon. Burial followed at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville.
