    Cathy Jean Isaacs, age 60, of Greathouse Road in Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, following a long illness.
    She was born November 13, 1957, in Estill County, a daughter of Happy Isaacs and Frances Rose Caldwell.
    Ms. Isaacs is survived by her mother, Frances Rose Caldwell; one daughter, Tonya Beard (Chad), Estill County; a grandchild, Addison Beard; one nephew, Dwight Durbin (Jennifer); and two great nephews: Carter and Mason Durbin.
    She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Kenneth Caldwell Sr.; one sister, Sharon Durbin; and a brother, Kenneth Caldwell Jr.
    Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 25, at 6:00 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Jason Brooks with burial following in the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends may call between 3 and 6 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
    Pallbearers will be Dwight Durbin, Carter Durbin, Chad Beard, Chris Beard, Shaun Beard, and Bill Beard.
    Honorary pallbearer will be Mason Durbin.

James Earl Muncy Sr., 62

    James Earl Muncy Sr., age 62, of Kirkland Avenue in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Baptist Health Lexington Hospital following a long illness.
    He was born May 2, 1955, in Madison County, a son of the late Bobby Gene Sr. and Annabell Marcum Muncy. He was a pool installer with Baker Pool Supply and had lived in Estill County all his life. He was a Veteran of the National Guard.
    Mr. Muncy is survived by two sons: Joseph E. Muncy (Mary) and James Earl Muncy Jr (Dasha), both of Estill County; a brother, Bobby Gene Muncy Jr. (Pat), Estill County; one grandchild, James Earl Muncy III; and a nephew, Chad Muncy.
    He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Glen Muncy.
    Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 25, at 11:00 a.m. at the Gray Cemetery by Bro. Scott Rogers.
    Pallbearers will be Gary Boyken, Bobby Muncy, Chad Muncy, Joseph Muncy, James Muncy Jr., and Dale Baker.

Edyth Lee Sparks Puckett, 79

    Edyth Lee Sparks Puckett, age 79, of Broadway in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018, at the Compassionate Care Center, Richmond, following a long illness.
    She was born August 30, 1938, in Estill County, a daughter of the late James Daniel “J.D.” and Lilyrene Neal Sparks. She retired from the Ravenna Greenhouse and was a member of the Ravenna Church of God. She had lived in Estill County most of her life.
    Mrs. Puckett is survived by one son, Tony Puckett, Greenville, South Carolina; six siblings: Cathalene Puckett, Ravenna; Ray Sparks (Donna), Mursfreesboro, Tennessee; Sterling Sparks, Woody Sparks (Darlene), Phil Sparks (Alma), all of Dayton, Ohio; and Joe Sparks (Debbie), Venice, Florida; 13 nieces and nephews: Barry Puckett (Lynda), Shurla Cooper (Raymond), Jeff Sparks, Todd Sparks (Melissa), Terri Blankenship, Gwenna Winegarner (Rob), Candy Sparks, Carrie Sparks, Jaime Copeland (Randy), Bobby Sparks, Heather Dryer (Bobby), James Sparks (Melissa), and Rachel Sparks; several great nieces and nephews; and one great, great nephew and two great, great nieces that she considered grandchildren: Reid Turner, Maci Turner, and Cooper Rogers.
    She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Puckett.
    Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 23, 11:00 a.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Willie Hargus Gordon with burial following in the Oakdale Cemetery. Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m., Sunday, April 22nd at the funeral home.

Billy Bradford Mansfield, 65

    Billy Bradford Mansfield, age 65, of Red Lick Road, Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Lakeview Villas, after a long illness.
    Billy was a native of Estill County, born July 15, 1952, a son of the late Billy Earl and Louise Johnson Mansfield. He was a retired police officer and truck driver.
    Survivors include his son, Steven Earl Mansfield (Melinda) of Irvine; his daughter, Ginger Lynn Powell (Chris Becraft); his grandchildren: Virgina Renea Mansfield, Misty Dawn Mansfield, Ashley Davis, Hayley Powell, and Ryan Bradford Becraft; and his great grandchildren: Abigail LeAnn Hands, Sara Virgina Lynn Davis, Isabella Lois Mansfield, Michael Eli Powell, and Shady Cheslee Rose.
    Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 23, at Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals. Burial followed in the Johnson Cemetery. Friends called Monday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Michael Edward Sexton

    Michael Edward Sexton, age 65, of Richmond, Kentucky, passed away peacefully, the evening of Thursday, April 19, 2018.
    He was born February 17, 1953, and was an avid motorcyclist, maintaining numerous relationships with many clubs across the country. He held active membership status with the American Legion Riders Post #79 and The Brotherhood of the Grey Bearded Bikers, as well as participated heavily with the Patriot Guard Riders and many other organizations. A true patriot, he held a retired status with the United States Army National Guard, and loved his country with a passion. However, his family held status as his true pride and joy.
    He is preceded in death by his parents, William Edward and Helen Ruddell Sexton; and is survived by his wife, Jane Olds Sexton of Richmond; a brother, Gregory Sexton (Catherine) of Columbia, South Carolina; three children: Ashley Neff (Jeremy) of Irvine, William “Billy” Sexton (Kim), and Robert “Bobby” Sexton, both of Richmond; as well as eight grandchildren, Sabastian and Seth Henry, Michael and William Neff, Logan, Aubrey, Austin, and Allison Sexton; and numerous friends.
    Visitation was held in Richmond, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home on Sunday, April 22, from 4:00-8:00 p.m., with funeral services at the funeral home on Monday, April 23, at 11:00 a.m. with burial immediately following in the Richmond Cemetery.

James Parrigan Martin II, 67

    James Parrigan Martin, II, age 67, of Kirkland Avenue in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at Baptist Health Lexington, following a long illness.
    He was born August 13, 1950 in Madison County and was the son of the late James Parrigan and Rebecca Jean Sparks Martin. He was a retired engineer with CSX and attended the Calvary Baptist Church. He had served in the United States Army Reserve and was a member of the American Legion. He was also a member of the Madison County Beekeepers Association and the Estill County Beekeepers Asssociation . He was a Kentucky Colonel and had lived in Estill County most of his life.
    Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, Peggy Ann Newton Martin; two sons: Steven Tyler Martin (Laurie) and Seth Tucker Martin, both of Estill County; two sisters: Rebecca Dice (Jack) and Jamie Ballard (Gary), both of Estill County; one brother, Ralph Martin (Darlia), Estill County; and two grandchildren: Samantha Jane Martin and James Tyler Martin.
    He was preceded in death by one brother, Monty Edward Martin.

    Austin Nathaniel Hughes, age 21, of Queensborough Drive in Berea, Kentucky, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018.
    He was born February 16, 1997 in Bessemer, Alabama and was the son of Jeremy Hughes and Kelly Henderson. He was a Hitachi employee and a member of the Off-Roading Club. He had lived in Alabama most of his life.
    Mr. Hughes is survived by his mother, Kelly Henderson, Estill County; his father, Jeremy Hughes (Gina), Alabama; his grandparents: Mary Sheets, Estill County; J.C. and Ginger Shew, Alabama; and Paul and Tammy Henderson, Madison County; two sisters: Peyton Henderson, Estill County; and Jasmine Hughes, Alabama; and one brother, Caleb Henderson Madison County.

Richard Lee Isaacs

    Richard Lee Isaacs, age 57, of Little Doe Creek Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 10:45 a.m. at his home, following a long illness.
    He was born August 23, 1960 in Estill County and was the son of the late Delores Ann Hines Moore of Irvine, and Charlie Isaacs (Mae) of Irvine.
    Mr. Isaacs is survived by two daughters, Melissa and Astrid Yarnell; a very special aunt, Betty Taylor; several special nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and cousins; four sisters: Linda Isaacs (Danny) of Florida, Tina Henry (Larry) of Irvine, Lois Moore (Tim) of Georgia, and Becky Isaacs of Irvine; and three brothers, including Kenneth Isaacs and Mark Moore of Irvine.
    He is preceded in death by his brother, Dobin Isaacs of Irvine.

Christopher Stanley Estes

    Christopher Stanley Estes, age 41, a native of Winchester, Kentucky, who lived the past 12 years in Irvine, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 6, 2018.
    He was the husband of Flora Estes; the son of the late John and Ida Estes, born December 13, 1975; and the son-in-law of Allen and Margie Ramey.
    In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Christopher Stanley "C.J." Estes Jr. of Irvine; one sister, Nancy Brookshire (Jeff), Winchester; four brothers: Danny Estes (Stella) of Alabama; Dewey Estes (Paula) of Clay City; and Delbert Estes of Winchester; two half-brothers: Henry Estes and John Estes, both of Clay City; several special nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; and special friends that he considered family.
    Mr. Estes is preceded in death by three children: Wesley Allen Ramey Estes, Destiny Grace Estes, and Christain Charles Estes.
    Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 28th at Winchester Community Church, 123 Franklin Avenue in Winchester, with Bro. Jackie Stamper officiating.

    Mary Jo Gould, age 95, of Punta Gorda, Florida, formerly of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017.
    She was born September 19, 1922 in Irvine, to Edward and Joanna Strong. She was a homemaker and had also worked as a bookkeeper. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Irvine, and a Kentucky Colonel.
    Mrs. Gould is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Drilling (Joe) of Milford, Ohio; Priscilla Williams of Lexington, and Patrice Deaton (Maco) of Punta Gorda; six granddaughters, three great grandchildren; a brother, Guy Strong of Winchester; a host of nieces and nephews; and four very special nieces; as well as extended family.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Hugh Gould, her parents, her brother, Charles Edward "Speck" Strong; and her sister, Sarah Florence Strong.
    A graveside service was held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Irvine.

    Regina Lynn Adams Robinson, age 51, of Tipton Ridge Road in Ravenna, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018, at the Baptist Health Lexington Hospital following a short illness.
    She was born March 29, 1967, in Estill County, a daughter of James and Eldora Wise Adams. She was a relationship banker with BB&T bank for 33 years and had lived in Estill County all her life. She was a member of the Mt. Carmel Christian Church.
    Regina was preceded in death by her husband, Todd Randall Robinson.
    In addition to her parents, she is survived by a son, Zachary Todd Robinson, Ravenna; a sister, Rhonda Hardy (William), Irvine; her mother-in-law, Julia Tuggle Robinson; two nieces: Elizabeth Park Hardy and Ella Franklyn Hardy; one nephew, William Elliott Hardy; and several aunts and uncles.
    Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by her grandparents: Lenny and Bertha Adams, and George and Bessie Wise.
    Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, April 18, at 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. Carmel Christian Church by Bro. Mark Pearson with burial following in the Gray Cemetery. Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m., Tuesday, April 17th at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home and after 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, at the church.

    Zackie Glenn Warner Sr., age 64, of Warner Lane in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, following a short illness.
    He was born May 25, 1953 in Estill County and was the son of Mary Joyce Miller Warner and the late Harold E. Warner. He was a farmer and a member of the Bethel Christian Church. He had lived in Estill County all his life.
    Survivors, in addition to his mother, include two daughters: Peggy Sue Warner, Estill County; and Tabitha Marie Sparks, Georgetown; four sons: Zackie Glenn Warner Jr., Samuel Keith Warner, Daniel Ross Warner, and Jason Matthew Warner, all of Estill County; two sisters: Pamela Warner and Ruby Johnson, both of Estill County; two brothers: Harold Wayne Warner and Ronnie Warner (Charlene), both of Estill County; 11 grandchildren; and his loving companion, Carolyn Barnett, Clark County.
    He was preceded in death by one sister, Brenda Puckett.

Etta Della McIntosh Woosley, age 83

    Etta Della McIntosh Woosley, age 83, of Irvine, Kentucky was called home to our Lord on Friday, April 13, 2018, after a short illness.
    Etta was born in Estill County to Simpson Greene and Florence McIntosh on February 16, 1935. She was the only girl amongst brothers Leroy, Greene, (late) Frank, and (late) Miles. She also had several half- and step-siblings.
    She was retired from Carhartt after 28 years of service. She was a long-time member of the Kentucky Friends of Bluegrass Music, having served on the board for many years. Etta lived her life to the fullest through music, camping/festivals, friends and family, reading, and many other simple pleasures. She was a caring person and truly touched the lives of all that knew her.
    She married the late Vetra Woosley on November 25, 1954.
    Mrs. Woosley is survived by their five children: Linda Woolery (William), Mary Sheets (the late William), Fava Hoover, Randall Woosley, and Wallace Woosley. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren along with two grandchildren and five great grandchildren by marriage. Grandchildren include: Chris, Dennis (Kristen), Denise (Harry), Kelly, Bridgett, Josh (Melissa), Emily (James), Tyler, and Alex. Great grandchildren are Austin, Brittany, Paige, Megan, Caleb, Lucas, Makenzie, Reagan, Peyton, Olivia, and Aubrey. She also had a special fur baby, Sassy, the dog.
    There was a gathering of family and friends on Friday, April 20, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals.

    Sallie Annette Bell, age 62, of Meadowlark Drive in Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018, at the Madison Health & Rehabilitation Center, following a short illness.
    She was born December 11, 1955 in Wauchula, Florida and was the daughter of the late Norwood and Lalie Davis Durrance. She was a retired McDonald’s employee and had lived in Florida most of her life.
    Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her husband, Rolland Bell.
    She is survived by one daughter, Denise Darcey, Estill County; and two sons: Dexter Bell, Estill County; and Dennis Bell, Florida; and several grandchildren.

Clara Mae Rawlins Pitts

    Clara Mae Rawlins Pitts of Havre de Grace, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Harford Memorial Hospital. She was 88 years old. She was the devoted wife of the late Leonard E. Pitts.
    Mrs. Pitts was born in Kentucky to the late Travis and Mamie "Henry" Rawlins. She was the beloved mother to: Leonard Pitts (Margaret), Edward Leon Pitts, Gary Pitts, and Larry Pitts (Theresa). She was the adoring grandmother to: Melissa Rogers, Edward Pitts, Jr., and Leighann M. Hewitt; and great grandmother to: Richard Meehan, Farren Hillard, Hailey Rogers, Jaden Hewitt and Chelsea Pitts. She was the great, great grandmother of Jerimiah Hillard, Jackson Hillard and Aubrey Grace Pitts. She was the sister to Linda King and Doris Adams; and was predeceased by seven siblings.
    Mrs. Pitts enjoyed crocheting, quilting, walking and working with her hands. She loved to dance and enjoyed spending time with the Young at Heart Club.
    A viewing was held on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington Street, Havre de Grace, Maryland, where a service was held at 12:00 Noon. Officiating was Pastor Ron Tabor. Interment was at Harford Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen.

Kenneth Joe Griffin

    Kenneth Joe Griffin, age 48, of Pineway Avenue in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital, following a massive heart attack.
    He was born October 27, 1969 in Estill County and was the son of Judy Lynn Dozier Abney and the late Kenneth Griffin. He was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a degree in Geology and was a valued member of Abacus Engineering. He attended Calvary Baptist Church and was a member of the Grateful Dead Club. His great passion was hiking through the Red River Gorge with his buddy, Riley.
    Mr. Griffin is survived by his mother, Judy Abney and best friend and step-father, Donald R. Abney; his aunts: Sandy Williams (Paul) and Libby Sipple (Harry); two nieces: Jessica and Hannah Abney; and special cousins: Mark Williams, Karen Dozier and Katie Sipple Williams.
    He leaves behind his very special buddy, Riley, his dog.
    Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his step-brother, Donald G. Abney.

    Mary Frances Calmes, age 89, of Carhartt Avenue in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at the Irvine Health & Rehabilitation Center following a short illness.
    She was born November 12, 1928 in Bourbon County and was the daughter of the late Charles and Mattie Frederick White. She was a retired Carhartt, Inc. employee and a member of the River Drive Christian Church. She had lived in Estill County most of her life.
    Mrs. Calmes was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Calmes, Jr.
    She is survived by one daughter, Linda J. Talley (Everett), Richmond, Virginia; one son, Gerald Sageser, Harrison County; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
    Mrs. Calmes was preceded in death by two sisters: Jo Patterson and Bobbie Stockard; and two brothers: Everett White and Chester Frederick White.
    Funeral services was conducted Friday, April 13, 3:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Paul Groves. Burial was at the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends called after 1:30 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.

    Dexter Goosey, age 70, of Bertha Court in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.
    He was born May 18, 1947 in Lee County and was the son of the late James and Rhoda Spencer Goosey. He was a retired Allen Company employee and attended the Pine Grove Pentecostal Assembly.
    Mr. Goosey is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue Flinchum Goosey; two daughters: Amy L. Rettburg (Darryl) and Vickie S. Spivey (Stephen), both of Irvine; three sisters: Betty S. Harrod, Frankfort; Lea Heagy, Dunedin, Florida; and Barbara Bicknell, Versailles; two brothers: Arvel Douglas Goosey and James Mosley, both of Beattyville; four grandchildren: Jeremiah Spivey, Alicia Arnold, Noah Rettburg and Kara Rettburg; and one great grandchild, Amelia Spivey.
    He was preceded in death by two brothers: Edward Goosey and Lenny Mosley.

    Morlin “Oakie” Curtis, age 64, of Winchester, Kentucky, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Saint Joseph Hospital. He was retired from Rockwell.
    He is survived by two daughters: Melanie Meadows (James) of Stanton and Jessica Curtis of Winchester; three grandchildren, two brothers: Danny Curtis (Jean) of Irvine and Dennis Curtis of Stanton.
    A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Lowell Douglas Flanary

    Lowell Douglas Flanary, age 74, of Shelton Lane in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital.
    He was born February 9, 1944 in Wise, Virginia and was the son of the late James Earl and Beulah Fleenor Flanary. He was a retired school teacher with the Estill County School System and a member of the Wisemantown Methodist Church. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Stafford 562 Masonic Lodge.
    Mr. Flanary is survived by his wife, Lucy Arthur Flanary; one daughter, Karen Flanary, Fayette County; one son, Doug Flanary (Katrina), Estill County; one grandchild, Makenzie Flanary; five nieces and nephews; and a Brother in Spirit, Larry Phoenix.
    He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Ann Stewart.
    Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 13, 11:00 a.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Greg McClellan. Friends may call between 6 and 9 p.m., Thursday, April 12th at the funeral home.
