Jonathan David Frazier, 36

    Jonathan David Frazier, age 36, of Ticky Fork Road in Ravenna, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018, at his home.
    He was born April 1, 1982 in Madison County and was the son of Richard David and Shirley Marie Walters Frazier. He was a Trane employee and a member of the Mt. Carmel Christian Church. He had lived in Estill County all his life.
    Survivors, in addition to his father and mother, includeone daughter, Allison Faith Frazier, Estill County; one stepdaughter, Mahailee Catherine Combs, Estill County; one sister, Carla Marie Macaluso, Powell County; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
    Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 23, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Mark Pearson. Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, until service time at the funeral home.

Ila Marie Barnett Crain

    Ila Marie Barnett Crain,age 66, of the Pecks Ridge Community in Fleming County, Kentucky, passed away Thursday evening, May 17, 2018, in the Ridgeway Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Owingsville, after an extended illness.
    She was born in Powell County, on November 17, 1951 to the late Wayne Edward Barnett and Ivia Holder Barnett.
    Mrs. Crain was a homemaker and enjoyed collecting antiques, glassware and dolls. She enjoyed spending time with her family, working in her flowers, sewing, crocheting and quilting.
    Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Darrell Crain; one son, Mickey Shrout; and three brothers, Larry Barnett, Gene Barnett and Billy Barnett.
    Survivors include one son, Mike Shrout of Flemingsburg; two daughters: Amy Goodman of Flemingsburg and Angela Gray (Jeff) of Mt. Sterling; three brothers: Jerry Barnett of Montgomery County, Carl Barnett of Clark County and James Barnett of Powell County; three sisters: Judy Barnett, Marlene Jones, both of Clark County; and Diane Stamper of Irvine; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 21, in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Roy Stacy officiating. Burial followed in the Olive Branch Cemetery in Fleming County. Visitation was after 12 Noon, Monday, at the funeral home.
    Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Gregory Wayne Horn, 48

    Gregory Wayne Horn, age 48, of Scott Court in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018, at his home following a sudden illness.
    He was born April 18, 1970 in Estill County and was the son of Wanda L. Tipton Horn and the late Earl Horn. He was an employee of Dunaway Trucking and had lived in Estill County all his life.
    Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife, Brandy Kay Farmer Horn; two daughters, Taylor Renee Horn; and Ashley Nicole “Nikki” Horn; one sister, Marilyn Cornett, Georgetown; two brothers: Randy Glen Horn and Christopher Earl Horn, both of Ravenna; eight nieces and nephews: Virginia L. Horn, Zachary Lemmon, Kaley Treadway, Dakota Morgan, Lydia Morgan, Joshua Thomas, Craig Morgan and Phillip Treadway; and a host of other family and friends.
    Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 21, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Terry Barnes. Burial was at the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends called from 11:00 a.m. until funeral time at the funeral home.
    Pallbearers were Nathan Stewart, Zachary Lemmon, Kevin Bryant, John Tipton, Craig Morgan, and Phillip Treadway.
    Honorary pallbearers were Larry Morgan, Joshua Thomas, and Chris “Tweety” Smyth.

Bradford “Shorty” Doyle

    Bradford “Shorty” Doyle, age 74, of Little Doe Creek Road in Irvine, Kentucky, went to his eternal rest on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, after a long illness.
    He was born March 31, 1944 in Jessamine County and was the son of the late Granville Pearl and Lilly Mae Alcorn Doyle. He was a former South East Coal Company employee and a veteran of the United States Army. He was a charter member and Deacon of the Old Time Baptist Church. He had lived in Estill County most of his life.
    Mr. Doyle is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janice Tuggle Doyle; two daughters, Bambi Doyle and Jennifer Noland (Chris), both of Estill County; two sons: Allen Doyle (Tammy) and Scotty Doyle (Ruth), both of Estill County; one brother, Bobby Doyle (Gay), Georgia; seven grandchildren: Jacob Doyle (Chelsey), Kristian Doyle, Dakota Doyle, Rebecca Doyle, Raven Curtis (Michael), Levi Kerby and Brayden Noland; and two great grandchildren: Paisley Doyle and Cass Curtis.
    He was preceded in death by two brothers: Clay and Leroy Doyl eand two grandchildren: Jessica Doyle and Solomon Doyle.
    Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 12, 2:00 p.m., at the Old Time Baptist Church by Bro. Jerry Chaney. Burial was at the Campbell Cemetery. Friends called from 11 a.m. until 1:45 p.m., Saturday at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home.
    Pallbearers were Bambi Doyle, Jennifer Noland, Allen Doyle, Scotty Doyle, Levi Kerby, and Jacob Doyle.

Jerry Glynn Rice

    Jerry Glynn Rice, age 68, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, May 11, 2018, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center following a long illness.
    He was born May 23, 1949 in Richmond and was the son of the late Donald and Aileen Owen Rice. He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam Era and had worked at Bundy Tubing, Bluegrass Army Depot, Diebold, Inc. and was the owner of Steel Restoration. He was a member and elder of the South Irvine Christian Church. He was a member of the Mischief Band for 31 years. He had lived in Estill County most of his life.
    Mr. Rice is survived by his wife, Rebecca Vaughn Rice; one son, Jeremy Rice, Lexington; one daughter, Whitney Rice, Irvine; one sister, Sherry Newlin (Ron), Irvine; two nephews: Ron Newlin, Irvine; and Dustin Newlin, Texas; one niece, Kelly Rice Cecil (Jimmy); his beloved mother-in-law, Barbara Vaughn, Irvine; and two "Brothers of the Heart": Marvin Patrick (Pam) and Buddy Joe Smyth (Christine).
    He was preceded in death by his brother, Donnie Scott Rice.
    Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, May 15, 2:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Michael Chism and Bro. Glendon Mays. Burial was at the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends called after 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Darrell Earlie Stamper

    Darrell Earlie Stamper, 57, of Interlachen, Florida, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Putnam Community Medical Center, following a brief illness.
    Born in Irvine, Kentucky, on Thursday, July 7, 1960, he resided in Interlachen since 1994, coming from Irvine. Darrell worked 23 years in the Maintenance Department with the Town of Interlachen. He was an avid Gator fan and enjoyed riding motorcycles, restoring cars, Western movies, Gunsmoke (Matt Dillon), drinking coffee and hanging out with his grandchildren. Darrell was also a fanatic of the Walking Dead television series.
    He was preceded in death by his mother, Cordia Jean Stamper; and his siblings, Kelly Stamper, Duck Stamper and China Jones.
    Darrell is survived by his wife of 31 years, Tina R. Stamper of Interlachen; his father, William Stamper of Interlachen; four daughters: Tracy Stamper of Hollister, Mary Richardson of Hollister, Cassie Richardson and Rachel Snowden, both of Kentucky; four sons: Darrell Stamper Jr. of Kentucky, Michael Hamlin of Green Cove Springs, Jonathan Stamper of Kentucky, and Eric Hamlin of Interlachen; four brothers: William David Stamper Jr., Jerry Stamper, William Stamper, and Robert Jones; two sisters: Teresa Harris and Doris Green; and 21 grandchildren.
    Services celebrating Darrell’s life were at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home Chapel, 1230 Highway 20 West, in Interlachen with Bro. Ricky Bybee officiating. Burial followed at Pineview Cemetery in Interlachen. Visitation was Tuesday, May 15th from 5-7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Joyce Mae Hall, 85

    Joyce Mae Hall, age 85, of Tipton Ridge in Ravenna, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital following a short illness.
    She was born April 3, 1933 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Marshall and Barbara Moreland Tipton. She was a homemaker, a member of the First Church of God and enjoyed watching WLJC. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
    Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husband, Hobert Hall Sr.
    She is survived by two daughters: Brenda Neal and Glenda Baber (Kendall), both of Estill County; three sons: Hobert Hall Jr. (Shelia K.), Dwight Hall and Michael Hall, all of Estill County; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren.
    Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by six sisters: Magalene Tipton, Frances Henry, Stella Tipton, Marie Eaton, Lula Arthur and Lilly Grey; and four brothers: Marshall Tipton Jr., Ollie Tipton, Dick Ashcraft and Gentry Tipton; two grandchildren: Hillary Karen Hall and Lilly Paige Hall; one daughter-in-law, Connie Hall; and one son-in-law, Charles Ray Neal.
    Funeral services were conducted Sunday, May 13, 2:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Terry Barnes. Burial was at the Cobb Hill Cemetery. Friends called between 6:30 and 9 p.m., Saturday, May 12th at the funeral home.
    Pallbearers were Jake Hall, Jeremy Baber, Josh Neal, Chad Hall, John Dwight Hall, and Kendall Baber.

Jeanette McClure

    Jeanette McClure, age 65, wife of James K. McClure, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at her home.
    She was born August 7, 1952 to the late Marshall and Ora Lee Powell.
    Mrs. McClure was preceded in death by a son, James C. McClure; a daughter, Marsha L. Puckett; a granddaughter, Kathryn McClure; and a sister, Debra J. Powell.
    She is survived by two sons: Kenny McClure (Becky) and Josh McClure; and a brother, Marshall Powell (Teresa). Also surviving are four granddaughters: Chelsea R. McClure (Andrew Morguson), Heather L. Puckett (Zac Bach), Brooklyn P. Puckett, and Julia Potts; six grandsons: Brandon K McClure (Madison), James N. McClure, Jaden J. McClure, Skyler McClure, Tyler D. Puckett, and Gavin M. Puckett; a great granddaughter, Elora Mae Parker; and a great grandson, Branson Alexander McClure.
    Services were Saturday, May 12, at 12 Noon at Rolan G Taylor Funeral Home, 289 South Main Street, Winchester, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Burial was in Clarmont Memorial Gardens.

    Bertha Senters Riddell, age 75, widow of Paul Riddell, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Baptist Health in Richmond.
    Mrs. Riddell was a native of Estill County, born November 2, 1942, a daughter of the late Willie and Eva Hisle Senters.
    She was preceded in death by her daughters: Lois Estes and Wanda Riddell; her brothers: Wesley, Clyde, and Cloyd Senters; and her sisters: Gladys Still, Mamie Gordon, and Emily Stone.
    Survivors include her sons: Tim Riddell (Vonda), Robin Riddell (April), Gary Riddell (Patty), Paul Riddell Jr. (Gina), Ernest Riddell (Deesha), and Matthew Riddell (Amanda); her daughters: Tammy Samantha Cole (Shannon), Rhonda Willis, Paula Hopkins (David), and Jennifer Larrison (Willie); her brother, Chester Senters; her sisters: Opal Riddell, Naomi Walling, and Gracie Estes; 24 grandchildren, 28 great grand-children, and one great, great grandchild.
    Services were held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 14, at Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals. Burial followed in the Gary Riddell Memorial Cemetery. Friends called anytime after 6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 13th at the funeral home.

James Wayne Moninger, age 85

    James Wayne Moninger, age 85, of Ashwood Place in Frankfort, Kentucky, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, following a short illness.
    He was born September 20, 1932 in New Freeport, Pennsylvania and was the son of the late Russell and Mary Smith Moninger. He was retired from the Dakota Gasification Plant and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Nazarene Church, the Irvine Masonic Lodge 137 F&AM and was a Kentucky Colonel.
    Mr. Moninger was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Hall Moninger.
    He is survived by one daughter, Sandy Toler (Warren Jr.), Irvine; two sons: Wally Moninger (Vicki), Grandview, Indiana; and Randy Moninger (Stephanie), Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren: Warren Toler III, Nicholas Moninger, Cassie Toler, Kara Moninger, James Moninger, Kristin Moninger and Casey Moninger; and six great grandchildren: Gretchyn Rawlins, Carson Moninger, Ryder Rawlins, Cade Toler, Ava Toler and Dean Moninger.
    He was preceded in death by one sister, Thelma Watson; and two brothers: Harold and Charles Moninger.
    Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Pamela Kay Brandenburg

    On the morning of Monday, May 7, 2018, Pamela Kay Brandenburg, age 61, of Worrells Road in Irvine, fell asleep on this earth and awoke in eternal paradise.
    She was greeted by her husband, Jerry David Brandenburg, by her parents, Almassa Covey and Florence Gray Covey, by her two brothers, Pete and Leon Covey, and by other family and friends who had gone on before her. Together, they welcomed her through the pearly gates and took her on a tour of her new home. Then they brought her before her Maker, whom she loved above all and who showed her to her place at his table.
    Born on October 16, 1956, in Urbana, Ohio, Pamela ended up in Irvine where she met and married her beloved Jerry in 1977. While a full-time mother of three, she also earned her associates degree from Sullivan College and went on to spend 29 years in administration at Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government from where she recently retired. Prior to her departure for Heaven, she was a much loved member and wisdom sharer of Lancaster Church of God. Her church family held a special place in her heart.
    Back on earth, Pamela left to recount her (frequent) good works and (occasional) misadventures of her three children: Jeremy Brandenburg (Patricia), Candace Tate (Michael), and Bethany Brooke Brandenburg Mahmoud (Mohamed); five sisters: Diana Covey Frymyer, Sherry Covey, Carolyn Covey, Mickey Covey Embs, and Leatha Covey Berger; three brothers: Coleman, Al, and Gary Covey; five grandchildren (who were her pride and joy): Deondre Tate, Tionna Tate, Ciara Bishop, Adam Farag, and Sofia Farag; and a wealth of family and friends including her longtime friend and honorary sister, Beverly Reynolds, and her roommate and beloved sister-in-law, Rene Brandenburg West, all who loved her very much.
    Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 12, 11:00 a.m., at the Lancaster Church of God by Pastor Butch Payne and Bro. Richard Ussery with burial following in the Brandenburg Family Cemetery. Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m., Friday, May 11th at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home.
    Pallbearers were Michael Tate, Deondre Tate, Mohamed Farag, Tim Witt, Bryan Wilson and Dwyane Covey.
