Regina Carol West, 55

    Regina Carol West, age 55, of Ticky Fork Drive in Ravenna, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness.
    She was the daughter of Brenda Parsons Mays and the late James Ottie Mays and was born on April 18, 1963 in Estill County. She was a retired Enersys employee and had lived in Estill County all her life.
    Survivors in addition to her mother include her husband, Hubert Wayne West; one daughter, Taylor Means, Madison County; one stepson, Chris West (Jessica), Estill County; two sisters: Rhonda Boian (Tim) and Beth Mays (Larry), both of Estill County; three grandchildren: Leander Meyer, Rowan Richmond and Lydia Noland; her mother-in-law, Eva West, Estill County; and several stepsisters and stepbrothers.
    Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 18, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Donnie Watson. Burial will be at the West Family Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Tara Suzanne Cole Tate

    Tara Suzanne Cole Tate, 35, the wife of Richard Lee Tate, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018.
    She was born in Lexington, Kentucky and grew up in Estill County. She was a homemaker and a former hair stylist with Hairport Salon in Lexington. Tara was a loving wife and devoted mother. She was a member of The Olive Branch Church in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky.
    Survivors include her husband, Richard; four children: Brody, Parker, Houston and Rhema Tate; her mother and stepfather: Tammy Cole Smith and David Smith; one brother, Chris Cole; two sisters: Missy Deaton and Kim Hale (Shaun); her maternal grandparents, Charles and Barbara Brandenburg; her mother-in-law, Jackie Tate Stewart (Tom) and father-in-law, Darrell Tate (Rhonda); two special friends: Andrea Smith and Katie Parsons; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
    She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Cole; and her paternal grandparents, Chester and Mary Cole.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 19, at The Church on the Rock, 1049 Richmond Road, Berea, Kentucky, with Pastor Shannon Parkerson, Pastor Mark Sarver and Bro. Buford Parkerson officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery in Irvine. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m., Wednesday, July 18th at The Church on the Rock.
    Serving as pallbearers are: Shaun Hale, Jeremiah Tate, Robert Brinegar, Brandon Brinegar, Scott Coomer and Bill Berryman.

Elmo Quinn Newton, 88

    Elmo Quinn Newton, age 88, of Newton Circle in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, following a short illness.
    He was born March 10, 1930 in Estill County and was the son of the late Wilgus and Addie Witt Newton. He was a farmer and a retired engineer with the Contel Telephone Company. He was a member and elder of the Station Camp Christian Church and had lived in Estill County all his life.
    Mr. Newton is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jewell Frances Doty Newton; three daughters: Teresa Morgan (William), Irvine; Rebecca Sheeks, Indiana; and Charlotte Riggins (David), Tennessee; two sons: Anthony Quinn Newton (Jean Ellen) and David Newton (Marcia), both of Irvine; one sister, Barbara Welch, Irvine; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by one sister, Onnalee Boardman; and two brothers: Alvin Douglas Newton and Nelson Newton.
    Funeral services were conducted Friday, July 13, 11 a.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Scot Beauchamp and Bro. Tom Burbrink. Burial was at the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m., Thursday, July 12th at the funeral home.
    Pallbearers were Nathaniel Newton, Seth Newton, Jonathan Newton, Russell Riggins, Joshua Sheeks and Jedediah Sheeks.
    Honorary pallbearers were Jason Williams, Steven Mainous, Bobby Welch, Ernest Lane Boardman, Oliver Welch, Gary Newton and the men of Station Camp Christian Church.
    In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Gideons or the Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.

Vermia F. McKinney

    Vermia F. McKinney, 90, of Miamisburg, Ohio, passed away Saturday July 7, 2018 in Ohio Hospice of Butler and Warren County.
    She was born August 7, 1927 in Irvine, Kentucky, the daughter of Elva and Mammie (Rawlins) Puckett.
    Mrs. McKinney is survived by her husband of 70 years, Beveley B. McKinney; two daughters, Shelby Ralston (Ed) of Savannah, Georgia; and Brenda S. Davis (Lynn) of Miamisburg; two sons, Everett B. McKinney (Truneah) of Franklin; and Elva B. McKinney (Sharon) of Miamisburg; one brother, R.C. Puckett of Irvine, Kentucky; a sister-in-law, Edna Puckett of Miamisburg; five grandchildren, Sheila Mitchell (David), Lori Hutchinson (TJ), Ryan Ralston (Beth), Heather Oinos (Dave) and Gina Heitzman (Matt); seven great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Michelle Lee McKinney; three brothers, four sisters and two half-sisters.
    A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2018, in the Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, 508 E. Linden Avenue, Miamisburg, Ohio, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 13, with Pastor Ed Ralston officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
    In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice of Butler and Warren County.

Robert Willis Jr.

    Robert Willis, Jr., 87, of Berea, Kentucky, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond.
    He was a born September 16, 1930, in Estill County, to Robert and Sarah (Carpenter) Willis, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby (Anglin) Willis. Robert was a retired maintenance employee of Eastern Kentucky University, a farmer and a member of Bobtown Holiness Church.
    Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie Harrison and Norma Gadd (Bobby), both of Berea; one brother, James Willis of Berea; three grandchildren, Jennifer Clark, Christina Potter and Harold Robert “Robbie” Jones; three great grandchildren, Surena Miller, Racheal Potter, and Cameron Potter, and several nieces and nephews.
    In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Darla Potter; four sisters, Donia Lainhart, Lilla May Logston, Mayfra Lainhart, and Laura Ann Ballinger; and two brothers, Edgar Willis and Raymond Willis.
    Funeral services for Robert were held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Harold Edmonson, Erman Turner and Bobby Hale officiating. Burial followed at Pilot Knob Cemetery. Visitation was from 5 – 9 p.m. on Monday, July 9th at the funeral home.

Johnny Ray Turner, 54

    Johnny Ray Turner, age 54, passed away Monday, July 2, 2018 at Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, Kentucky, after a long illness.
    He was born May 4, 1964 to Betty Ruth Dunn Turner and the late Willie D. Turner. He lived in Estill County most of his life.
    In addition to his mother, he is survived by one brother, David Wayne Turner, Irvine; two daughters: Ydell Veronica Ashcraft and Betty April Turner (Henry Derks), both of Georgetown; eight grandchildren: Madison, Caydon, Kent, Clinton, Braylon, Tristin, Billie and Peyton; his lifetime love and friend, Grace Louise Turner; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by one son, Johnny Ray Turner Jr.; two brothers: Franklin Lee Turner and Kenneth Ray Turner; one sister, Lisa Carol Jenkins; and a special son-in-law, Christopher Lee Kearns.
    Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, July 4, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Curt Napier. Burial was at the New Bethel Cemetery. Friends called between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
    Pallbearers were David Turner, Henry Derks, Brian Henry, Keith Boykin, Garet Horn Jr., Eddie Jordan, and Laura Swartz.
    Honorary pallbearers were Billy Kelley, Robert Kelley, Garet Horn, James Young and Thomas Swartz.

Jeffrey Allen Fox, 49

    Jeffrey Allen Fox, age 49, of Roberts Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018, as the result of a car accident.
    He was born September 18, 1968 in St. Clair, Michigan and was the son of the late Carl and Janice A. Runyon Fox. He was a general laborer and attended the First Church of God. He had lived in Estill County most of his life.
    Mr. Fox is survived by his wife, Wanda Brooks Fox, Irvine; two daughters: Brittany Fox, Irvine; and Dakota Holbrook, Dansville, New York; one son, Andre Fox, Irvine; two sisters: Ella Marie Spicer (Charles, Jr.) and Cyndi Jones (Charlie), both of Irvine; three brothers: Carl Fox, Irvine; Ron Fox (Rhonda), Auburn, Indiana; and Jim Hart (Maggie), Laotto, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by two children: Heather M. and Jeffrey A. Fox.
    Funeral services were conducted Thursday, July 5, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Scott Rogers. Burial was at the Hoover Cemetery. Friends called Thursday, between 10:00 a.m. and service time at the funeral home.
    Pallbearers were Jesse Chaney, Jason Chaney, Jacob Estes, Douglas Mullins, Ron Fox, Charles Spicer, Jr., Charlie Jones, Clay Mays and Jim Hart.
