Arcie Lee Willoughby

    Arcie Lee Willoughby, age 92, husband of Sarah Willoughby of Clay City, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Clark Regional Medical Center, Winchester.
    Born October 11, 1926 in Clay City, Kentucky, he was the son of the late John Willoughby and the late Bessie Hon Willoughby. Arcie was a retired truck driver for Leggett and Platt, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Clay City Volunteer Fire Department.
    He is survived by his wife, Sarah Elizabeth Townsend Willoughby; one son, Jeffrey Lee Willoughby (Janie) of Clay City; four daughters: Faith Oberg (Glenn) of Stanton, Hope Scott (Kenny) of Clay City, Patiance Justice (Kirby) of Stanton and Charity Parks (David) of Clay City; ten grandchildren: Colin Faulkner (Amanda), Lauren Faulkner (Robbie Dunn), Candace Hampton (K. J.), Rex Lucas Scott, Elizabeth Grace Scott, Lindsey Brooke Willoughby, Zachary Garrison, Owen Parks, Cameron Justice and Kristen Justice; five great grandchildren: Hayden Faulkner, Graham Faulkner, Elliott Faulkner, Lillian Dunn, and Kennedy Hampton; and one sister, Waveline White.
    In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers: Dewey Willoughby, Cecil Willoughby, Henry Willoughby and Raymond Willoughby and five sisters: Mina Muncie, Etha Muncie, Ella Muncie, Jewel Barnes and Alice Barnes.
    Funeral services officiated by Bro. Sammy Faulkner will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 17, at Hearne Funeral Home Inc. 125 West College Avenue, Stanton. Visitation began at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 16th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Townsend Family Cemetery with Colin Faulkner, Rex Lucas Scott, Zachary Garrison, Owen Parks, Cameron Justice and Jeffrey Willoughby serving as active pallbearers.
    Honorary pallbearers are Dick Townsend, Ernie Faulkner, members of the Clay City Volunteer Fire Department, Danny Rogers and the Powell County Sheriff Department and former employees of the Burke, Parsons, Bowlby Plant.

Ralph Tackett, 69

    Ralph Tackett, age 69, of Picnic Hill Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018, at his home after a sudden illness.
    He was born October 5, 1949 in Lake City, Tennessee and was the son of Maudie Ann Disney Tackett and the late Arvil Tackett. He was the owner of the Tackett Commercial Interiors and was a member of the Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. He was a former member of the United States Marine Corps Reserves. He had lived in Estill County for the past 22 years.
    Mr. Tackett is survived by his wife, Susan Jane Flinchum Tackett, Estill County; one stepdaughter, Michelle Jones (Claren), Fayette County; one sister, Linda Suddarth (Randy), Tennessee; and three grandchildren: Matthew Snowden, Jacob Jones, and Emma Clare Jones.
    Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 18, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Greg McClellan. Burial will follow in the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends may call between 6 and 9 p.m., Wednesday, October 17th at the funeral home.

Carl Dillard Fox, 56

    Carl Dillard Fox, age 56, of Roberts Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, October 12, 2018 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond after a long illness.
    He was born June 19, 1962 in St. Clemons, Michigan and was the son of the late Carl and Janice Runyon Fox. He was an employee of Isaacs Lumber and he attended Irvine 1st Church of God. He had lived in Estill County most of his life.
    Mr. Fox is survived by one daughter, Tiffany Allen (Robert), Clark County; one stepdaughter, Tracy Prince, Madison County; two sisters: Ella Marie Spicer (Charles Jr.) and Cyndi Jones (Charlie), both of Estill County; two brothers: Ron Fox (Rhonda) and Jim Hart (Maggie), both of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was proceeded in death by one brother, Jeffrey Fox.
    Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 17, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Scott Rogers. Burial will follow in the Campbell Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m., Wednesday morning, at the funeral home.

Wanda Jean Clark, 69

    Wanda Jean Clark, age 69, of Cantrill Street in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Clark Regional Hospital in Winchester after a long illness.
    She was born July 26, 1949 in Madison County and was the daughter of Carrie Fox Clark and the late Glendon Clark. She was a homemaker and was of the Christian faith. She lived in Estill County most of her life.
    Ms. Clark is survived by her mother, Carrie Fox Clark, Estill County; two daughters: Regina Miller (Tom) and Anita Murphy, both of Estill County; one sister, Lisa Clark, Jackson County; two brothers, Glenn Clark, Estill County; and Jeff Clark, Madison County; five grandchildren: Rachel Stone (Allen), J.T. Miller, Josh Woosley (Corinne), Trevor Murphy, and Travis Bunch; and two great grandchildren: Landon and London Woosley.
    Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, October 16, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Darrell Isaacs. Burial followed in the Oakdale Cemetery. Friends called after 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Glenn Ray McKinney, 70

    Glenn Ray McKinney, age 70, of Cottonwood Drive in Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond following a short illness.
    He was born August 24, 1948 in Harveysburg, Ohio, was the son of the late Ralph and Hazel McKinney. He was an employee of General Motors Company. He had lived in Richmond for the past 16 years.
    Mr. McKinney is survived by his companion, Gladys Cox, Madison County; two daughters: Connie Berryman (James), Estill County; and Bernice Skeens (James), Madison County; one son, Russel Edward Rogers (Pam), Estill County; one brother, Darrel McKinney, Ohio; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by one son, Anthony Cleveland Rogers; one sister, Brenda Foley; and one brother, Roger McKinney.
    Funeral Services were conducted Monday, October 15, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Donnie Watson. Burial followed in the Madison County Memorial Gardens. Friends called after 11:00 a.m., Monday, at the funeral home.

Robert Daniel Terry

    Robert Daniel Terry, age 57, died Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, Kentucky.
    Mr. Terry was born February 20, 1961 in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Robert Barnett and Velma Combs Terry. He was an accomplished florist and loved to play the piano and sing. He attended Athol Community Church of God.
    Mr. Terry is survived by his wife, Juliet Terry; two sisters: Amy Salmon (Carl) of Liberty and Rebecca Hockett of Warren, Ohio; his mother-in-law, Teddy Spicer of Irvine; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
    Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m., Monday October 15, at Davis & Powell Funeral Home, 616 Chestnut Street, Berea, with Rev. Jerry Hatton officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Booneville. Visitation was 6-9 p.m., Sunday, October 14th at the funeral home.

    Della Faye Clem Taulbee, age 78, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at her home.
    She was born on February 29, 1940 in Irvine, Kentucky, to the late Levi and Viola Abner Clem. She was a retired budget analyst from the Bluegrass Army Depot.
    Mrs. Taulbee is survived by four daughters: Bonita Johnson, Connie Bube, Marcia Arthur and Mary Jane Hammack; three sisters: Fannie Lutes, Martha Spurlock and Molly Hampton; twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Overholser ;and a brother, Eugene Clem.
    Services were at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 13, at Scobee Funeral Home, 219 West Lexington Avenue, Winchester, by Brother Billy Keller Jr. Burial followed in the Jackson Chapel Cemetery in Estill County. Visitation was 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 12, at the funeral home.

    Christopher Abner, age 40, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018.
    He was born May 15, 1978 in Fayette County, Kentucky, the son of Jerry and Edna Holder Abner.
    He is survived by parents, Jerry and Edna Abner; his wife, Sharon Dean of Goshen, Ohio; a son, Christopher Abner Jr.; two daughters: Jolene Abner and Casey Abner, both of Ohio; a brother, William “Jay” Abner of Irvine; and a sister, Geneva Nunnelley of Irvine.
    Funeral services were held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, October 13, at the Grayson Funeral Home, 201 7th Avenue in Clay City, with Bro. Marvin Hatton officiating. Friends visited Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.

    Mr. Gordon was born April 1, 1978, the son of Melvin Gordon and Roxie Hines. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and horses.
    Survivors, other than his parents, include his sons, Cody and Jacob; and his sisters, Patricia Rogers and Connie Dennis.

    Lillian Herald, age 89, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at the Compassionate Care Center, located in Richmond, Kentucky.
    Lillian was born May 27, 1929, in Booneville, a daughter to the late Joe and Fannie (Angel) Evans. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed cooking. She was a member of the Means Community Miracle Church.
    She is survived by two sons: Ronnie Herald (Teresa) and Toby Herald (Rose), both of Beattyville; three daughters: Phyllis Steele (Darrell), Mildred Herald, both of Beattyville; and Berneace Herald of Booneville; five brothers: Bill Evans of Beattyville, James Evans of Booneville, Kendall Evans of Beattyville, Tommy Evans of Means, and Gary Evans of Lexington; four sisters: Lucy Grimette of Michigan, Thelma Couch of Beattyville, Ruby Holton of Richmond, and Ann Rowland of Beattyville; 12 grandchildren: Angie Murrell, Patrick Sturgill, Amanda Deaton, Renita Herald, Mike Steele, Darren Steele, Casey Herald, Jessica Herald, Kevin Herald, Amy Mayabb, Jason Jewell, and Cassandra Morris; 22 great grandchildren, and one on the way, six great, great grandchildren, and many other loving family members and friends.
    Mrs. Herald was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Fannie Evans; her husband, Harlan Herald; a sister, Hazel Morgan, five brothers: Lee, John, Wayne, Joe Jr., and Charles Evans; four grandchildren: Debi Herald Reece, Ronnie Paul Herald, Scottie Jewell, and Greg Herald; and two great grandchildren: Patrick Herald and Destiny Jewell.
    Visitation was held Friday, October 5, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., at the Booneville Funeral Home, 3450 Ky. Hwy. 11 North, Booneville. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 6, at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Tommy Evans officiating. She was laid to rest beside her husband in the Pendergrass Cemetery, located in Booneville.

    Claud Jones, age 94, of South Irvine Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at the Marcum & Wallace Hospital after a short illness.
    He was born January 25, 1924 in Breathitt County and was the son of the late Thomas Jones and Ella Bach Jones. He retired from the Bluegrass Army Depot in Richmond and was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was a member the Irvine Masonic Lodge 137 F & AM, 32 Scottish Rite and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was a United States Army veteran and served during World War II.
    Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 71 years, Janet Marcum Jones, Estill County; one daughter, Carol Hunter (George), Madison County; one son, Fred Jones (Gail), Estill County; three grandchildren: Bennie Lay (Susan), Richard Jones, and Elizabeth Templeman (Chip); five great grandchildren: Bennie Adam Lay, Emilee Grace Lay, Addie and Gracie Templeman, and Jessica Garrison (Billy); one great, great grandchild, Taya Garrison; a special niece: Eloise Mullins (Gary) and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by one sister, Laura Fox; and five brothers: James, Omar, Oscar, Fred, and A.J.
    Funeral services were conducted Friday, October 5, 11:00 a.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Sherl Thomas. Burial was at Campbell Cemetery. Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m., Thursday, October 4th at the funeral home.

    Adren Sparks, age 75 of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.
    He was born February 16, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio; to Arthur and Deliah Sparks He was a farmer and truck driver.
    Mr. Sparks is survived by his wife, Linda Sparks of Irvine: four sons: Billy Joe Poole, Eddie Poole, Henry Sparks (Tabitha), and Bobby Sparks; five daughters: Mary Mae Sparks, Lori Muncie, Linda Jean Alexander, Carrie Purcell, and Michelle Castell; and three sisters: Irene Stewart, Carrie Tincher and Jean Barker.
    Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 5, at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel, 201 7th Avenue in Clay City with Bro. Anthony May officiating. Friends visited Thursday from 6 till 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial was in the Sparks Cemetery.

    Thomas Lee Goosey, age 33, of John Rawlins Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital.
    He was born February 28, 1985 in Dayton, Ohio and was the son of Dale Burdette Goosey and Tamara Leigh Spurlock. He was a self-employed construction worker and he lived in Estill County for the past 18 years.
    Mr. Goosey is survived by his parents: Dale Burdette Goosey and Tamara Leigh Spurlock, both of Estill County; one sister, Amanda Goosey (fiancé Jimmy Crabtree), Estill County; one brother, Jacob Goosey (Christen), Estill County; and his special friend, Tanya Dore, Estill County.
    Funeral services were conducted Thursday, October 4, 12 Noon at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Keith Carr. Burial was at the Marcum Cemetery. Visitation was after 11:00 a.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
