Thomas Paine Knecht, 65
Thomas Paine Knecht, 65, passed away Friday, January 25, 2019, at Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky.
Thomas was a native of Oneida, New York, born December 3, 1953, a son of the late Louis F. and Helen Smith Knecht, and was a graduate of Lafayette High School. He formerly worked in the security industry. Thomas enjoyed music, and collecting music memorabilia. He donated some of his collection to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. He had a lifetime subscription to Rolling Stone Magazine. He enjoyed watching Jeopardy. He was a loving son, and assumed the role of caretaker for his mother in her later years.
Survivors include his brothers: Phil (Jude) of Lexington, and Louis Jr. (Carol) of Jericho, New York; his sister, Peggy Sue Minton; and his nieces and nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 30th at Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals with Bro. Scott Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the Fielder Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Harold Dean Stoll, 84
Harold Dean Stoll, age 84, of Moberly Road in Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019, at the Irvine Nursing & Rehabilitation Center following a short illness.
He was born June 4, 1934 in Hillsdale, Michigan and was the son of the late Marvin and Viola Reader Stoll. He was a retired Petty Officer with the United States Navy and a former United States Postal worker. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Richmond.
Mr. Stoll is survived by his wife, Judith Hall Stoll; one daughter, Shawna Leiva (Tim), Madison County; one son, Stephen Stoll, Florida; two step-daughters: Deborah Anderson (Brian), Florida; and Ronda Raines (Tom); one step-son: Ric Randolph (Sharon); one sister: Ladonna Ferdon, Michigan; and two step-grandchildren: Abigail and Jameson Raines.
He was preceded in death by one step-son, David Dettmer; and three siblings: Betty Shaver, Paul Stoll and Dallas Stoll.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Marvin Scott Owens, 53
Marvin Scott Owens, age 53, Irvine Road, Winchester, Kentucky, husband of Sandra Gibson Owens, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Clark Regional Medical Center.
He was born on October 1, 1965 in Vallejo, California to Deloras Cummings Owens and the late Theron Owens Sr. He was a retired IT Support for Onstar operations. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of the Epperson First Church of God.
In addition to his loving wife and mother, he is survived by one son, Jeff Overton (Sarah); two brothers: Theron Kay Owens Jr. and Michael Owens; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of His Life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 2, at the Epperson First Church of God, 14475 Irvine Road, Winchester, by Pastor Chris Williams.
Visitation will be Saturday, 12:00 Noon until the time of the service at the church.

Betty Louise Wilson, 89

Betty Louise Wilson, age 89, of Drowning Creek Ridge Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at the Irvine Health & Rehabilitation Center following a long illness.
She was born October 28, 1929 in Estill County to the late Jim and Dovie Marcum Stone. She was a homemaker and was the oldest living member of the Providence Baptist Church. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by one daughter, Judy Chrisman (Jimmy), Estill County; one son, Jimmy Wilson (Betty), Estill County; six grandchildren: Greg Chrisman (Lisa), Chad Chrisman (Chrystal), Jamie Witt (Brenda), Rhonda Turner, Keith Turner (RaNae); and her name sake, Jessica Louise Wilson (Joe); 12 great grandchildren: Douglas Chrisman, Casey Covey, Derrick Chrisman, Destiny Chrisman, Zack Chrisman, Alyssa Chrisman, Joy Hamilton, Brittany, Ryan, Cody, Eric, and Destiny; six great, great grandchildren: Jaxon, Cloe, Kinsley, Lainey, Waylon, and Sadie Jane; and a very special nephew, Larry McMaine (Chris).
She was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Wilson; one sister, Bernice McMaine; and one grandchild, Jeff Chrisman.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, January 26, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Bill VanWinkle and Bro. Tim Roberts. Burial followed in the Turpin Cemetery. Friends called after 11:00 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home
Pallbearers were her grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers were her granddaughters.
Gloria F. Spicer Wiseman, 90
Gloria F. Spicer Wiseman, 90, wife of the late James L. Wiseman, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at her home.
She was born in Lee County, Kentucky, on August 1, 1928 to the late Chester A. and Bruce Flynn Spicer. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Irvine, and Covenant Church of Winchester.
Survivors include four children, Bill Wiseman, Bonny Barker (Kenneth), Jim Wiseman and Mary Brashear; six grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; one sister, Wanda Robbins; two brothers, Chester Spicer, Jr. and William “Bud” Spicer; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Billy Lloyd Wiseman.
Services were at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 29, at Scobee Funeral Home, 219 West Lexington Avenue, by Pastor Steve Humble. Burial was in Winchester Cemetery. Visitation was Monday, January 28, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Hospice East, 407 Shoppers Drive, Winchester, KY 40391.
Buford Ray Reed, 59
Buford Ray Reed, age 59, of Jeffersonville, Kentucky, passed away at his residence Tuesday, January 22, 2019. He was a construction worker.
He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Wada of Virginia; three brothers: William Reed (Kathy), Donald Reed (Iva), both of Winchester; and Daniel Reed (Tonia) of Clay City; and a sister, Johnnetta Hunt of Lexington.
Mr. Reed was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mildred Reed; and a brother, Bencil Reed.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

William Franklin “Bill” Baber, 93
William Franklin “Bill” Baber, age 93, of Hudson Avenue in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019, at his home.
He was born September 10, 1925 in Estill County and was the son of the late J. W. “Bill” and Cora Wise Baber. He was a retired Kroger employee and a member of the Irvine Nazarene Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for 53 years. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy and Army Air Corp. He was a charter member of the VFW Post 8019 and a lifetime member of the American Legion.
Mr. Baber was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Robertson Baber.
He is survived by one daughter, Nancy Sullivan (John), Anderson, South Carolina; one son: Bruce Baber (Lisa), Estill County; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Baber, Estill County; a son-in-law, Mike Richardson, Madison County; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a close friend, Paul Taylor.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jeanette Marie “Jan” Richardson; two sons: James Franklin “Jim” Baber and Phillip Scott “Frankie” Baber; two sisters: Eva Lou Dawes and Beulah Baber; and three brothers: Alonzo “Buddy” Baber, L.J. Baber and Jessie Baber.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, January 22, 2:00 p.m., at the Irvine Nazarene Church by Bro. Curt Napier and Bro. Matthew Marshall. Burial was at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m., Monday, January 21, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home and after 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, at the Irvine Nazarene Church.
Pallbearers were his grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers were his great grandsons; Scott Beckler, David Beckler, Jeff Beckler, and the men of the Irvine Nazarene Church.
Benjamin C. Stigall, M.D., 93

Benjamin C. Stigall, M.D., age 93, of Danville, Kentucky, and widower of Betty Fern Williams Stigall passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019.
The son of the late Lawrence Ingersol Stigall and Rose Elizabeth Jasper Stigall, he was born May 3, 1925 in Irvine, Kentucky. A resident of Lexington from 1964-2011, he was a member of Trinity Hill United Methodist Church. He was a United States Navy veteran.
Dr. Stigall was an alumnus of the University of Louisville, from which he graduated with an undergraduate degree and his Doctorate in Medicine. After residency and 8 years of general practice, he received training in Dallas, Texas, to become an Ear, Nose, & Throat specialist (Otolaryngology). He practiced medicine in Livermore/Owensboro and in Lexington/Central KY and retired in 1999. Dr. Stigall was an active member of the American Medical Association, the Kentucky and Lexington Medical Societies, and Meals on Wheels at Trinity Hill United Methodist Church.
Surviving family includes his four children: Thomas Stigall (Karen) of Lawrenceburg, Beth Marcum (John) of Nicholasville, James Stigall, and June (Brian) Baker of Stanford; five grandchildren: Yancey Marcum (Allison), Erin Ferguson (Scott), Coleman Marcum, Ben J. Baker (Karina), and Emily Beth Ludovissy (Connor); and six great grandchildren.
Among his many interests were Bluegrass music, including playing mandolin with friends in the band Country Grass and several other groups in Central Kentucky. He was an avid golfer, liked to travel, and enjoyed playing bridge. Most of all, he loved his family. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Services will take place Friday, January 25th at Milward-Southland, 391 Southland Drive in Lexington. Visitation will be held 12 Noon-2 p.m., followed immediately by the funeral at 2 p.m. Burial will take place at Lexington Cemetery.
Bessie Kay Tate, 64
Bessie Kay Tate, age 64, of John Rawlins Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019, at her home following a long illness.
She was born March 21, 1954 in Springfield, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Murvel and Olive Yates Hogge. She was a real estate agent with Liz Campbell Associates and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Tate is survived by her husband, Bobby Joe Tate; three sons: Robert Tate (April), New Mexico; Joey Tate, Estill County; and Michael Tate (Candace), Madison County; two sisters: Peggy Cravens, Estill County; and Cheryl Correll, Colorado; one brother, David Hogge, Colorado; and seven grandchildren: Taylor Tate, Deondre Tate, Tionna Tate, Haley Hall, Dylan Tate, Alexander Tate and Autumn Tate.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Moulton; and two brothers: Richard Sharpe and Jack Hogge.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, January 23, 11:00 a.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Tony Horn. Burial was at the Madison Memorial Gardens. Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m., Tuesday, January 22nd at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Jason Kay, Robert Tate, Michael Tate, Joey Tate, Taylor Tate, and Deandre Tate.
Edwin C. Fowler, 60

Edwin C. Fowler, age 60, of Berea, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Born in Richmond, he was the son of Lucille Isaacs Fowler Rice and the late Edwin Fowler, Sr. He was an United States Army veteran and a welder with Link-Belt Construction Equipment.
Mr. Fowler is survived by his mother, Lucille Isaacs Fowler Rice of Irvine; one son, Anthony Fowler of Clay City; two daughters, Jessica Fowler-Abrams of Lexington and Ashleigh Baber (Stephen) of Berea; three brothers: Jesse Rice (Loretta), Dale Rice (Vanessa), both of Irvine, and Steven Fowler of Nicholasville; three sisters: Bobbie Rice of Irvine, Nywanda Patrick (Michael) and Jane Dixon (Greg) of Nicholasville; and nine grandchildren: Ireland Fowler, Ethan Fowler, Gracie Fowler, Katelyn Fowler, Kelsey Madden, Aubrey Baber, Austin Elkins, Caleb Rowland and Canaan Rowland.
Visitation began at 4:00 p.m. with funeral services held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Hearne Funeral Home, Inc., 125 West College Avenue, Stanton.
Billy Isaacs, 75

Billy Isaacs, age 75, widower of Claudette Muncie Isaacs, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky.
He was a native of Estill County, a son of the late Virgil and Mary Marcum Isaacs.
Mr. Isaacs was preceded in death by his brothers: Earnest, Bobby, and Ronnie Isaacs; and his sister, Ann Isaacs.
He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, and fishing, talking and watching Westerns. He was a member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church. He was a retired brick and block layer, former employee of Beck and Harris Greenhouse, and former owner of Billy Bob's Family Restaurant. Mr. Isaacs spent a lot of his time talking with friends and customers at Cox Recycling. He enjoyed spending time with his family, his church family and friends. He spend most evenings eating supper and watching TV with wonderful Juanita. One of his favorite things to do was to go fishing with his best friend Mike Bicknell.
Survivors include children: Billie Richelle Cox (Sam), Wendell Scott Isaacs (Sherrie), Gregory Allen Isaacs (Carolyn), and Kevin Shane Isaacs (Chelle); his grandchildren: Samuel Lucas Cox, Stephanie Palmer (Dustin) Moore, Tessney Isaacs Merritt (Michael), and Kane Isaacs; great grandchildren: Caidyn Riddell, Carly Riddell, Jace Moore, and Macy Moore; and a special furbaby Lillie.
Services were held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 21st at Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals with Harold Hays officiating. Friends called anytime after 6:00 p.m., Sunday evening, January 20th at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Shane Isaacs, Greg Isaacs, Scott Isaacs, Lucas Cox, Kane Isaacs and Caidyn Riddell.

Grace Della Puckett, age 79, of Furnace Junction in Ravenna, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
She was born April 7, 1939 in Estill County to the late Cornelius and Ora Lee West Adams. She was a homemaker and attended the Roadside Mission Church. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
Mrs. Puckett is survived by her husband, Bobby Gene Puckett, Estill County;
two daughters: Sandra Tuggle, Estill County; and Connie Haggard, Powell County; three sons: Dwight Puckett, Greg Puckett and Bobby Puckett Jr., all of Estill County; one sister, Shirley Lancaster, Estill County; two brothers: Doug Adams and Cleveland Adams, both of Estill County; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, John Adams.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, January 18, 11:00 a.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Gainus Rogers. Burial followed in the Crowe Cemetery. Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m., Thursday, January 17th at the funeral home.

Raymond Shawn Reinhardt, 39

Raymond Shawn Reinhardt, age 39, of Green Street in Nicholasville, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, following a long illness.
He was born November 5, 1979 in Estill County and was the son of Raymond and Willa Johnson Barnes. He was an animal rescuer and an ordained minister in the Universal Unitarian Church. He was a member of the Kentucky Funco League of Awesomeness. He had lived in Powell County most of his life.
Survivors, in addition to his father and mother, include his spouse, Kevin Mattias Reinhardt.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, January 22, 12:00 Noon, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at the Gray Cemetery. Friends called after 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Mark Barnes, Marc Crase, Frank Ward, Isaac Hickman, Justin Adams, and Courtney McPherson.
Honorary pallbearers were the nurses from the Markey Cancer Center BMT.
Dorothy Brackett Lucas, 88

Dorothy Brackett Lucas, 88, widow of Bernard Lucas, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the Irvine Heath and Rehab Center after a long illness.
She was a native of Irvine, Kentucky, born July 12, 1930, a daughter of the late John and Ora Lee Breedlove Brackett. She was a retired bookkeeper, and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.
Mrs. Lucas was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathryn Lee "Katie" Lucas Brinegar; her brothers: Charles, E.P., and J.W. Brackett; and her sisters: Ruby Sien, Margaret Moody, and Sylvia Moody.
Survivors include her grandchildren: John Brinegar and Kim Richardson (Ray); and her great grandchild, Kathryn Sue Richardson.
Services were held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 22nd at Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals with Bro. Scott Rogers and Bro. Owen Moody officiating. Burial followed at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Jessamine County at 2:30 p.m. Friends called anytime after 10:00 a.m. until service time, Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Brinegar, Lonnie Gross, John Brinegar, and Ray Richardson.
Deacons of Friendship Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers.

Ashley Nicole Philapy, age 29, a resident of Especially Kidz Health & Rehabilitation in Shelbyville, Indiana, passed away, Wednesday, January 2, 2019, following a long illness.
She was born December 9, 1989 in Kokomo, Indiana and was the daughter of James Philapy and Darla Sutton Covey.
Ashley is survived by her mother & step-father: Darla and Chris Covey of Ravenna, Kentucky; her father, James Philapy, Kokomo, Indiana; her grandparents, Harry & Ollie Sutton, Monticello; two sisters: Brittney Philapy, Irvine; and Jacqueline Philapy (Amron), Kokomo, Indiana; four brothers: Austin Philapy (Megan), Irvine; Jimmy Philapy, Josh Philapy (Amanda), and Jesse Philapy, all of Kokomo, Indiana; uncles: Nathan Sutton, Jason Sutton (Sarah), Dustin Sutton and Brandon Cooper (Jennifer); and many more aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents; Minter & Blanche Turner and one uncle, Chris Sutton.
