James Wayne "Jimmy" Cole, 73
James Wayne "Jimmy" Cole, age 73, Stump Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond following a long illness.
He was born January 25, 1946 in Estill County to the late Burton and Alice Raider Cole. He was a retired carpenter for Denham and Blythe Company. He was a member of the Outreach Church and former member of the Estill County Golf Club. He had lived in Estill County most of his life.
Mr. Cole is survived by his loving wife, Glenda Faye McDonald Cole, Estill County; one daughter, Jamie Cole, Madison County; two sons: Jody Cole (Ginetta), Indiana; and Jason Cole, Madison County; four sisters: Jewell Sons, Sue Manious, both of Estill County; Ruby Reagan, Tennessee; and Wanda Ingram, Louisville; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Burton Cole Jr.; and one sister, Nettie Jo Sternson.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 12, 1:00 p.m., at the Outreach Church by Bro. Jerry Rose. Burial will follow in the Pea Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call between 6-9 p.m., Monday night, March 11, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home and after 12 Noon, Tuesday, at the church.
Brenda Ann Rogers, 74
Brenda Ann Rogers, age 74, of Stanton, Kentucky, wife of Cebert S. Rogers, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019 surrounded by her family at her home.
She was born September 14, 1944 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Lemray J. and Ruth Whisman Martin.
Survivors include, husband, Cebert S. Rogers; brother, Daniel W. Martin (Barbara); and a sister, Freda Shoemaker, Richmond.
Services Sunday, March 10, 2:00 p.m., at Davis & Davis Funeral Home, 777 W. College Avenue, Stanton, by Rev. Mac Rice, Rev. George Sparks, and Rev. Dave Rogers. Visitation Saturday, March 9th, 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Martin Family Cemetery with Doug Johnson, Austin Johnson, John Martin, David Rogers, Christopher Rogers, Keith Rogers, Darrell Rogers, Dewayne Rogers, Kevin Rogers, Dean Rogers, Josh Rogers, and Craig Rogers serving as pallbearers.
Judith Ann Finney Adams, 77
Judith Ann Finney Adams, age 77, widow of David Jennings Adams, passed away after a long illness on Monday, March 4, 2019 in Georgetown, Kentucky. She was born January 25, 1942, and was retired from Westinghouse Phillips Lighting in Richmond.
Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her father and mother, Chester and Hazel Finney; her daughters: Sherry Lynn Adams and Lisa Beth Adams Glasson; her sister, Nancy Carol Lester; and her brothers: Gerald Lewis Finney and Gregory Lynn Finney.
Survivors include her daughters: Amanda Lynn Adams and Carolyn Ann Adams, both of Georgetown; her sons: Mark Anthony Adams and Matthew Adams (Ashley), both of Irvine; her sisters: Marilyn Bryant (Lloyd) of Georgia, Deborah Jordan (Donald), and Lola Finney, both of Irvine; her brother, Robert Finney (Kathy) of Ohio; her grandchildren: David Adams (Rebecca), Andrew Adams, Jon Adams, Robbie Glasson (Monica), Katie Glasson, Aadin Mullins; Dylan, Allison, and Ava Parker Adams; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2019 at Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals. Friends may call anytime after 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 7th at the funeral home..
Pallbearers will be David Adams, Robbie Glasson, Roger Hall, Eric Glassford, Rodney Hall, G.T. Embry, Harold Hall, Jon Adams, and Andrew Adams.
Beverly Moore, 74

It is with great sadness that the family of Beverly Moore announces his home going on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the age of 74, at his home in Nicholasville, Kentucky. Formerly a resident of South Irvine, Kentucky, he was born November 29,1944 in Estill County, the son of Hood and Vera Miller Moore. He retired from the United Parcel Service.
Bev will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 28 years, Hilda; and his step-son, David Minor (Michelle). He will be fondly remembered by his seven grandchildren, Joey (Krista), Candice, Christina (David), William, Richard, Makayla, and Logan; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Eva Mae and Mary Edith; one brother, Troy; and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hood and Vera Moore and one step-daughter, Debbie Samples.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 1, 2019, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 3421 Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, by Pastor Tommy Morrow of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Nicholasville. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Lexington. Visitation was 5-8 p.m., Thursday, February 28th at the funeral home.

Noah Tracy Farmer, 71
|
Noah Tracy Farmer, age 71, husband of Brenda Farmer of Paris, Kentucky, died Friday, March 1, 2019 at Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Born in Beattyville, he was the son of the late Earl and Ruthie McQueen Farmer and he was a United States Army veteran. Tracy was a former machinist at Arvain Meritor, a farm manager for JJJ Farms and a Kentucky Colonel.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Rufford Farmer and Charles Farmer.
Tracy is survived by his wife, Brenda Brewer Farmer; two sons, Letcher Farmer (Elaine) of Clay City and Allen Farmer of Paris; two brothers: Ralph Farmer (Millie) of Irvine and Paul Farmer of Clay City; three sisters: Rebecca Rolf (Don) of Crescent Springs, Rachel Sizemore of Cincinnati, and Nancy Farmer of Clay City; a sister-in-law, Mary Farmer of Stanton; seven grandchildren: Christopher Farmer, Bryce Farmer, Hadley Grace Farmer, Kassi Knox, Tessa Farmer, Moreka Farmer and Kabrina Farmer, along with several great grandchildren.
Funeral services officiated by Bro. Ted Linkous will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at Hearne Funeral Home Inc., 125 West College Avenue, Stanton. Visitation begins at 6:00 p.m.,Tuesday, March 5th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in Stanton with Cody Perry, Dustin Knox, Jordan Howard, Freddie Moore, Justin Spencer and Logan Faulkner serving as pallbearers.
Rickey Howard, 54
Rickey Howard, age 54, of Stacy Lane Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, March 1, 2019, at Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital following a short illness.
He was born July 17, 1964 in Cincinnati, Ohio and was the son of Catherine Crabtree Howard and the late Lloyd Howard. He was a retired custodian at the Estill County Middle School. He had lived in Estill County most of his life.
Mr. Howard is survived by his mother, Catherine Crabtree Howard, Estill County; one daughter, Hannah Parker Howard, Estill County; three sisters: Annette Nicholason (Pat), Owen County; Patricia Anderson, Estill County; and Betty Sue Riddell (Tim), Estill County; and two brothers: Ronald Howard (Laura) and Robert Howard (Sue), both of Owen County.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Randal Howard.
Memorial services will be at a later date.

Charles William Webb, 44
Charles William Webb, age 44, husband of Sharon Snowden Webb, passed away Friday, March 1, 2019, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.
He was a native of Estill County, born July 3, 1974, a son of Aelliene Richardson and the late Walter Webb. He enjoyed collecting jars and bottles.
Survivors, other than his wife Sharon, include his sons: Cody Webb (Alysha Cornett) and Dakota Harvey; his daughter, Angel Barrett (Jonathon); his brother, Robert Webb (Amanda); his sisters: Sharon Hardy (Tom), Brenda Tipton, and Tammy Riddell (Jessie); and his grandchildren: Wendell Barrett, Olivia Barrett, Alaina Cornett, Emily Webb, and Damon Webb.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals. Friends may call anytime after 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m. service time.
Pallbearers will be Damian Moore, Troy Moore, Cody Webb, Chris Wright, John Barrett, and Angel Webb.
Cecil Ramsey, 89
On February 27, 2019, Cecil Ramsey, age 89, our beloved daddy, poppy and father in law joined his angel in heaven. He loved God, his family and friends. Even during difficult times in life, he relied on his faith in God to help him through. He was a living testament for anyone that had an opportunity to spend time with him.

He was born June 4, 1929 in Madison County, the son of Henry and Nellie Smith Ramsey. He moved with his family to Estill County in 1969 and had lived here since.
Mr. Ramsey is preceded in death by his angel Josephine; his mother and father, Henry and Nellie Ramsey; his brothers, Arlie, Charlie, Millard, and Willard; his sister, Sara; a son-in-law, Harvey, and his special cousin, John Earl.
He has two daughters Eva (Randy) and Bonnie (Terry) both of whom were the apple of his eye. Mr. Ramsey has six grandchildren. April (Tom), Melissa (Chris), Cecil (Jennifer), Joseph (Annette “Sweetie”), Robert, and Samantha (David). He has 13 great grandchildren whom he affectionately referred to as flower pots, Wesley, Carlie, Benjamin, Dilan, Calvin, Travis, Aubrey, Sarah, Zoey, Cameron, Jacob, Joshua, and Olivia.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, March 3, 2:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Danny Neal. Burial followed in the South Irvine Cemetery. Friends called between 6-9 p.m., Saturday, March 2nd at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Cecil Greenwood, Joseph Greenwood, Thomas Wilkerson, Dale Sparks, Dilan Greenwood, and Aaron Tipton.
Honorary pallbearers were great grandchildren.
Farrell Willis, 67
Farrell Willis, age 67, of Blackburn Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the Marcum and Wallace Hospital following a long illness.
He was born March 31, 1951 in Estill County to the late Marion and Bessie Hardy Willis. He was a retired mechanic and lived in Estill County all his life.
Mr. Willis is survived by his wife, Wanda Lee Townsend Willis, Estill County; four daughters: Sherry Willis, Paris; Amy Shearer, Madison, County; Farrah Willis and Cassandra Willis, both of Estill County; three sons: Glen Townsend, Shawn Willis, and Jeremiah Willis, all of Estill County; four sisters: Nannie Hunt, Myrtle Neal, both of Estill County; Sharrion Anderson, Clark County; and Judy Oaks, Estill County; two brothers: Herman Willis and Cash Willis, both of Estill County; 11 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Sue Riddell and Joyce Riddell; and four brothers: Charles Willis, Bill Willis, Beverly Willis, and Paul Willis.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, March 1 at 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Jerry Rose. Burial followed in the Willis Family Cemetery. Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m., Thursday night, February 28th at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Samuel Travis, Keith Purdue, Mike Charlton, B.J. Anderson, Jason Abney, and Shawn Willis.
Honorary pallbearer was Tim Purdue.
Amanda Renee Rogers, 35

Amanda Renee Rogers,the daughter of Mrs. Paula Harris of Beattyville, Kentucky and the late Charles Douglas Rogers, was born in Irvine, Kentucky on February 24, 1984 and departed this life in Hazard, Kentucky on Monday, February 25, 2019 at the age of 35 years and 1 day.
In addition to her mother, Amanda is survived by three children, Franklin Drake IV, Jesse James Drake, and Evelyn Edith Louise Drake, all of Beattyville; her sister, Ashley Wade (Justin) of Beattyville; her brother, W.D. Rogers of Beattyville; three nephews, Dominic, Ashton and Bentley, all of Beattyville; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and family along with an abundance of special friends.
Amanda was preceded in death by her father, Charles Douglas Rogers; and her maternal grandmother, Glenna Maupin.
Visitation was 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Newnam Funeral Home, 108 Center Street in Beattyville, followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Greg Farler officiating. Interment was in Drake Family Cemetery on Mill Creek Road in Beattyville.
Stella Mae (Arvin) Sparks, 87

Stella Mae (Arvin) Sparks was born July 12, 1931 in Jackson County, Kentucky and departed this life Monday, February 25, 2019 at her residence in McKee, being 87 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Newton Murrell Arvin and Maude (Mays) Arvin.
Stella is survived by the following children, David Sparks of Centerville, Indiana; Boyd Sparks (Kim), Wayne Sparks (Judy), Kenny Sparks (Audrey), Jean Gray (Lonzo), Darlene Gray (Donald), Faye Baldwin (Harold), all of McKee; and Diane Flynn of Irvine. She was blessed with 35 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Stella was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Sparks; four children, Betty Burkhart, Merlin “Bub” Sparks, Earl Sparks and Lucian Sparks; and by five siblings, Murrell Arvin, Allen Arvin, Fannie Powell, Liza Smith and Dovie Lynch.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Lakes Funeral Home, 1181 Main Street South, McKee, with Bro. Shane Gabbard and Bro. Garland Gabbard officiating. Burial will follow in the Huff Cemetery.
Wayne H. Nyffeler, 79

Wayne H. Nyffeler, age 79, of Ashwood Court, Columbus, Indiana, died at 10:34 p.m., Monday, January 28, 2019, at Franciscan Health Indianapolis.
He was born September 28, 1939, in Decatur, Indiana, the son of Earl and Martha Buchanan Nyffeler. He married Henrietta Embs Arthur October 15, 1988, at St. Paul Evangelical Church, Clifty.
Wayne had owned Nyffeler Appliances in Columbus for 26 years, where he created his own clever ads and won many awards for his newspaper advertising. He served in the United States Army. He was past president of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, sang and sat on the board of the Columbus Philharmonic, and was currently on the Board of Zoning and Appeals.
He began running at the age of 35 and was still running up to the day he was hospitalized. He enjoyed music and singing, and attending his grandkids events. Wayne never missed calling family on their birthday and singing Happy Birthday.
The funeral was conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019, at First Christian Church, Columbus, with Milo Smith officiating. Burial was at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Henrietta; sons, Patrick Nyffeler of Columbus and Trent Nyffeler of Dallas; daughter, Melissa Nyffeler of Los Angeles; stepsons, Dwayne Arthur of Bargersville and Joshua Arthur (Jenny) of Columbus; stepdaughters, Lisa Westmark and Lois Bonnell (Scott), both of Columbus; a sister, Marlene Ferguson (Dick) of Kokomo; grandchildren, Ashley Bonnell, Lucy Nyffeler, Colin Bonnell, Joshua Neal Arthur and Ryan Arthur; a great grandchild, Isaaic Arthur; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roy Embs, Scotty and Betty Embs, all of Irvine; Joy Embs, Ohio; and Herby and Wavelene Embs, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Nyffeler; and mother, Martha Murphy; and a brother, Duane Nyffeler.
