Russell Hurley, 73

    Russell Hurley, 73, husband of Donna Gross Hurley, died Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Marcum Wallace Hospital in Irvine, Kentucky.
    Mr. Hurley was a native of Estill County, born October 30, 1945, a son of the late Willie and Beatrice Plowman Hurley. He was Mason, and retired employee of Bundy Tubing.
    Russell was preceded in death by his siblings Kathryn, Dale, Bradley and Matthew Hurley.
    Survivors, other than his wife of 56 years, Donna, include his daughter, Debbie Callahan (Wayne); his sister, Mary Karen Johnson (Horace); his brother, Mitchell Hurley; his special family members, Calvin and Ellar; his grandsons: Christopher West, Joshua Callahan, and Christian Callahan; his granddaughter, Emaleigh Bowman; and several great grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals. Burial will follow in the South Irvine Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 6:00 p.m., Monday, April 1st, with Masonic rites to be held that evening.
    Pallbearers will be Calvin Conrad, Verlin Conrad, Jigs Kelley, Andy Newton, Roger Burns, and Derrick Burns.

Shelia Evanoff

    Shelia Evanoff, age 63, of Clay City, Kentucky, passed away Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Marcum and Wallace Hospital in Irvine.
    She was born in Lee County, Kentucky, March 23, 1956 to Clarence and Emmaline Hogan. She was a member of the Living Water Church in Clay City and a homemaker.
    Mrs. Evanoff is survived by five sons: Timothy Evanoff (Stacy) of Irvine, Nicholas Evanoff, Mark Evanoff, William Evanoff (Chrissy), and John Evanoff (Bobby Jo), all of Clay City; two daughters: Robin Huff (Billy) of Booneville, and Angel Smith (Charles) of Clay City; 11 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; four brothers: Curtis Hogan, Ernest Hogan, Vernon Hogan, and Cephus Hogan; and six sisters: Brenda Begley, Mattie Taylor, Ann Winkleman, Mary Buchanan, Joan Bryant and Judy Ball.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; Clarence and Emmaline Barrett Hogan, her husband, Amos Evanoff; three brothers: Roy Hogan, Ronnie Hogan, and Jeff Hogan; and two sisters: Linda Johnson and Rosalee Hogan.
    Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel, 201 7th Avenue in Clay City with Bro. Ralph Farmer officiating. Friends may visit Tuesday from 11:00 a.m., until time of the service at the funeral home.

Tina Lou Ann Gabbard

    Tina Lou Ann Gabbard was born November 4, 1973 in Manchester, Kentucky, and departed this life Monday, March 25, 2019 at the Wayne County Hospital in Monticello, being 45 years of age. She was daughter of Sally Hacker Gabbard Fields of McKee and of the late Isaac Burnis Gabbard.
    In addition to her mother, Lou Ann is survived by three sons, David Ray Eversole of Annville, Delbert Ball Jr. and Jonathan Ball both of Tyner; and by her boyfriend, Bill Rednour of Monticello. She is also survived by the following siblings, Jason Gabbard (Lyn) of McKee, Burnis Ray Gabbard of Annville, Julie Deaton (Jackie) of McKee, Ruthie Abney (Robert) of Irvine and Brenda Deaton (Shelby) of Manchester. She was blessed with one grandchild, Braelynne Ball.
    Other than her father, Lou Ann was preceded in death by a nephew, Clarence Culton; and by two brothers, Isaac “Ike” Gabbard and Gary Gabbard.
    Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Lakes McKee Funeral Home, 1181 Main Street South, McKee, with Bro. Jason Moore officiating. Burial to follow in the Medlock & Annville Cemetery.

Carolyn Denise Riddell-Taylor

    Carolyn Denise Riddell-Taylor, age 27, of Sub Station Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019.
    She was born January 7, 1992 in Montgomery County and was the daughter of Samuel David Riddell and Donna Denise Horn Roberts. She was an employee of Toyota Manufacturing and attended the Pentecostal Fellowship Church. She had lived in Estill County most of her life.
    Carolyn is survived by her husband, Michael Bradley Taylor; her father, Samuel David Riddell, Madison County; her mother and dad, Donna Denise (Michael Ray) Roberts, Estill County; her grandmother, Phyllis Horn, Estill County; four stepchildren: Addison, Ava, Arden and Aiden Taylor; three sisters, Samantha Riddell, Estill County; Chandra Riddell, Carter County; and Chelsea Riddell, Madison County; nephews: Billy Brown, Brennon Brown, Brayden Brown and Waylon Noland; and her fur baby, Sophie.
    She was preceded in death by her sister and best friend, Ashley Jo Breinna Horn Brown.
    Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, March 27, 6 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home by Bro. Charles Elliott. Friends may call after 4 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Alsie Jean Merritt

    Alsie Jean Merritt, 88, wife of Hollis Thomas Merritt, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2019 at her home.
    She was born in Estill County, Kentucky, on April 28, 1930, to the late Millard and Myrtle Modell Short Mansfield. She was a homemaker, a member of First Church of God Colby Road and previously worked as a seamstress at Curlee Clothing.
    In addition to her loving husband of 70 years, she is survived by two children, Rhonda Ann Merritt and Patricia Jean Bowling; five grandchildren, Angela Mansfield Cambron (Mark), Ashley Lynn Bowling, Brandon Thomas Bowling (Heather), Monte Dain Everman and Randall Brooke Everman; ten great grandchildren, Elizabeth Jaelyn Cambron, Olivia Ann Cambron, Joseph Gabriel Cambron, Lily Marie Cambron, Mark Samuel Cambron, Asher Charles Cambron, Morgan Elizabeth Payne, Kaila Lynn Payne, Jasper Clay Everman and Jason Edward Blevins II.
    Services were at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Scobee Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Winchester Cemetery.

Jasper Clay Snowden, 79

    Jasper Clay Snowden, age 79, of Winchester Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, March 22, 2019 at Saint Joseph East Hospital in Lexington, following a long illness.
    He was born April 5, 1939 in Estill County to the late Sam and Rosie Crowe Snowden. He retired from Leggett & Platt and was a veteran of the United States Army. He lived in Estill County all his life.
    Mr. Snowden is survived by his wife, Jeweldine Wiseman Snowden, Estill County; one daughter, Sheila Travis (Billy), Estill County; one sister, Faye Means, Powell County; and one grandchild, Dylan Travis.
    He was preceded in death by two brothers, Hubert and Elva Snowden.
    Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 25, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., at the Irvine Nazarene Church by Bro. Merle Travis and Bro. Matt Marshall. Burial followed in the Jackson Chapel Cemetery. Friends called between 6-9 p.m., Sunday night, March 24th at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home and after 12 Noon, Monday, at the church.
    Pallbearers were Paul Estes, Dale Wise, Christopher Wise, Gary Embs, Robbie Robinson, and Stevie Tipton.

Reva Dixon Toler, 81

    Reva Dixon Toler, age 81, of Hollyhill Drive in Lexington, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Wagersville Pentecostal Church of God. She had lived in Estill County most of her life.
    She was born July 5, 1937 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late George P. and Thelma Hymer Dixon.
    Mrs. Toler was preceded in death by her husband, John Toler.
    She is survived by one daughter, Fay Isaacs, Lexington; two sons: William Gayle Smith, Lexington; and Ronnie P. Smith, Winchester; ten grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
    Funeral services were conducted Saturday, March 23, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Jerry Rose and Bro. Phillip Smith. Burial followed in the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends called after 11:00 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
    Pallbearers were Dayton Hatcher, Daniel Hatcher, William Smith, Roger Marcum, Danny Calloway and Jack Woolwine.
