Jason Keller, 53

    Jason Keller, the son of Mary Jo Palmer Fugate and JH Keller both of Beattyville, Kentucky, was born in Salem, Indiana on November 11, 1965 and departed this life in Lexington, Kentucky on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at the age of 53 years, 11 months, and 11 days. He worked in masonry construction.
    He is survived by five children, Stephen Keller of Rush, Kentucky; Jason Randal Keller of Lexington, Jeremiah Harold Keller of Nicholasville, Jason Chance Keller of Richmond, and Megan L. Keller of Beattyville; five grandchildren; eight siblings, Jackie Broadwell, Vernon Keller, Ted Palmer, Michelle Smith, Johnny Thorpe, Aaron Thorpe, Chris Keller, and Jessica Whisman; his mother, Mary Jo Fugate; his father, JH Keller;and a host of other relatives and friends.
    Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, 2019, at Newman Funeral Home, 108 Center Street in Beattyville, 6:00 p.m. until service time at 8:00 p.m.

Harold Tracy Sparks

    Harold Tracy Sparks, age 47, passed away Saturday, October 26 after a long illness.
    He was born February 15, 1972 in Campton, Kentucky, to Edward and Judy Sparks. He was a former construction worker.
    Mr. Sparks is survived by his mother and stepfather, Judy and Arnold Taulbee of Campton; his girlfriend, Rebecca Gross of Irvine; two brothers: James Sparks (Kayla) of Stanton, and Darren Sparks (Brittany) of Irvine; a stepbrother, Terry Taulbee of Michigan; three stepsisters: Georgetta Marnelle, Paula Robinson, both of Michigan; and Debbie Taulbee of Tennessee; one niece, Kayla Sparks; and three nephews: Devin Sparks, Zane Sparks and Gauge Arrowood.
    He was preceded by his father, Edward Clay Sparks.
    Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel, 201 7th Avenue in Clay City, with Bro. Bill Birchfield officiating. Friend may visit Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in the Mountain Springs Cemetery.

Alma Jean Stone

    Alma Jean Stone, age 93, of Dayton, Ohio passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at her home.
    She was born July 16, 1926 in Clark County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Buford Ashcraft and Carrie Spicer Ashcraft Richardson. She was retired from the Hewitt Soap Company and was a member of the Old Pathway Pentecostal Church.
    Mrs. Stone is survived by three sons: Tony Dale Stone, Indiana; Gary Wayne Stone, and Jerry Stone, both of Ohio; one sister, Dorothy Griggs, Estill County; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Parker; six sisters: Susan Jane Meadows, Lena Schooler, Ruby Henry, Elizabeth Neal, Irene Huckle, and Florence Wilson; and two brothers: Charles and Edward Ashcraft.
    Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 28, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Albert Schooler. Burial will be at the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to service time at 1:00 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.

Betty Jean Mansfield

    Betty Jean Mansfield, age 88, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019.
    She was born February 26, 1931, in Estill County, Kentucky, the daughter of Harry W. and Nellie Ballard Howe. Betty and her late husband, James, moved to Muncie in 1951. She worked many years as a secretary at the former Muncie Clinic, Prairie Creek Reservoir and the Muncie Eagles Lodge. Betty loved to read, bowl and play bingo. Above all, she loved her family and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many who will miss her smile.
    She is survived by three sons, Jim (Suzy), Jack (Gayle) and Joe (Terry). Also left to cherish her fond memory are five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, a brother, Ralph Howe; a sister, Wilma Vaughn; and special sisters-in-law, Mary Hochadel and Duluth Witt.
    Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 41 years, James; and five siblings, Ed Howe, Frances Hamilton, Jack Howe, Don Howe and Boyd Howe.
    Funeral services for Betty will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Road 3, Muncie, Indiana, at 3:30 p.m.. Family and friends may call from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date.
    The family wishes to thank Southern Care Hospice and the caring staff at Elmcroft of Muncie Assisted Living Center for the wonderful care given to our mother during the past several months.

Harold Henry Rainey

    Harold Henry Rainey, age 78, husband of Edith Mae Sparks Rainey of Winchester, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, October 21, at 9:47 p.m., after a short illness.
    Mr. Rainey was a native of Clark County, born on January 22, 1941 to the late Howard Hampton and Bettie Anderson Rainey. He was retired from Paul Miller Ford in Lexington where he worked for more than 55 years. He was a member of the Church of God Cathedral.
    In addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by one son, Jason Scott Rainey (Renee) and one aunt, Ada Adams.
    Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Scobee Funeral Home, 219 West Lexington Avenue, Winchester. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 25th at Scobee Funeral Home by Rev. David Douglas. Burial will follow at the Winchester Cemetery.
    Pallbearers will be Jason Rainey, Rick Portwood, Randy Harman, Russ Highland, Gary Sparks and Jimmy A. Rainey.

Daniel Stone

    Daniel Stone, age 59, of Isaac Drive in Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Monday, October 21, 2019, at his home following a sudden illness.
    He was born March 29, 1960 in Winchester, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Wynton Gayle and Helen King Stone. He was an employee of the KoKoKu Rubber Company and was of the Catholic faith.
    Mr. Stone is survived by his wife, Traci Lynn Walters Stone; his mother-in-law, Jane Walters, Estill County; two sisters: Theresa Stevens (Ron Douglas), Scott County; and Kathy Stone, Tennessee; three brothers: David Stone (Mary), New York; William Stone (Nancy Brandenburg), and Jimmy Stone (April), both of Estill County; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Marty & Noreletta Wilburn.
    He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Stone; and one nephew, William Brian Stone.
    Memorial services will be conducted Thursday, October 24, 2019, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. John Anderson. Friends may call between 11:00 a.m. and service time at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.

    Nellie Ballard, age 76 of Clay City, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the Stanton Nursing and Rehab.
    She was born February 18, 1943 in Clay City to Willie and Violet Goodwin.
    Mrs. Ballard is survived by three sons: Linville Ballard of Lexington, Fred Ballard and Garland Ballard, both of Winchester; five daughters: Bonnie Hacker (Kevin) of Lexington, Callie Ballard of Winchester, Christina Ballard of Clay City, Linda Ballard and Martha Chandler, both of Georgetown; 13 grandchildren, five great grandchildren; three brothers: Robert Goodwin of Stanton, Roger Goodwin of Oklahoma, and William Goodwin of Clay City; and four sisters: Julia Puckett of Clay City, Bessie Tipton of Ohio, Norma Conner of Clay City and Allie Goodwin.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ballard; her parents, Willie and Violet Goodwin; a son, Clifford Ballard; and two brothers, Floyd and Frank Goodwin.
    Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel, 201 7th Avenue, Clay City, with Bro. Kim Rose officiating. Mae Hollon

    Mae Hollon, age 86, of East College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2019.
    Born January 12, 1933 in Cobb Hill, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Collis Gillispie and the late Margaret O'Conner Gillispie. Mae was a homemaker and member of Full Gospel Lighthouse Church.
    In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Gene Gibson; her son, Randall Osborne; and by several brothers and sisters.
    Mae is survived by her daughter, Sharon Townsend of Georgetown; her son, Anthony Osborne (Sonya Hobbs) of Stanton; five grandchildren: Billy Richardson, Ricky Hollon, Nikki Hollon, Linda (Daniel Clair) Osborne and A. J. Osborne; and seven great grandchildren.
    Memorial services officiated by Bro. Paul Day will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Hearne Funeral Home Inc., 125 West College Avenue, Stanton. Visitation is 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.

Chelsa Turner

    Chelsa Turner, age 85, of Hoys Fork Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019 at his home following a long illness surrounded by his loved ones.
    He was born June 17, 1934 to John and Florence Turner. Chelsa was a retired Second Class Petty Officer in the Navy. He enjoyed being with his family; watching the humming birds outside his window and spending time with his beloved dogs.
    Chelsa is survived by his children: Sally Hickman (Doug), Oregon; Chelsea Ray Turner (Michelle), Oregon; Teresa Eller, Michigan; John Lee Turner (Margaret), Virginia; Margaret Rude (Mike), Virginia; and Sheila Hatchell (Glenn), Vigiinia; 15 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Joseph, Andy, and Raymond Turner; and a sister, Pauline Riddell, as well as his favorite nephew, Marion Riddell.
    A very special thank you to all the people that have helped cared for Chelsa, Ms. Brenda and Misty from the VA; Ms Dana and Stephanie from Hospice; Kiersten Tuttle for shaving his face, and Helen Hall for cutting his hair.
    Services will be held at Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals, 224 Main Street, Irvine, Ky on Tuesday October 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with the burial at Pea Ridge Holiness Church Cemetery.

    Flossie Stepp Profitt, age 79, widow of Charles Vernon Profitt, departed for glory on Friday, October 18, 2019.
    A native of Irvine, Kentucky, she was born on January 15, 1940, to the late Harvey and Sallie Kirby Stepp. She was a Baptist, a longtime stay at home mother and later owned a grill and billiards game room.
    Survivors include four children, Sandy Broadbent, Gregory Scott Profitt, Charles Vernon Profitt Jr. and Brian Profitt (Missy); one sister, Nettie Stepp Stone; six grandchildren, Robert, Lisa, Tasha, Joshua, Shawnee and Josh; and several great grandchildren, family and friends.
    In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Wayne Jenkins; two brothers, Beverly and Chester Stepp; and a brother-in-law, Lowell Clay Stone.
    Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 21, 2019 at Scobee Funeral Home, 219 West Lexington Avneue, Winchester, by Pastor Sandy Broadbent. Burial will be in Winchester Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.

    Pamela Gail Bradley, age 59, of Barnes Mountain Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Health Center in Lexington, following a long illness.
    She was born April 9, 1960 in Estill County and was the daughter of Rosa Lee Gilbert Williams. She was the owner for Taxes in A Flash. She attended the Nazarene Church. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
    Mrs. Bradley is survived by her husband, Donald Keith Bradley, Estill County; her mother, Rosa Lee Gilbert Williams, Estill County; her mother-in-law, Diana Hitchcock, Madison County; one daughter, Bethany Wesley, Madison County; one son, Jeffrey Crouch, Jr., Estill County; and one brother, Howie Lynch, Estill County.
    Funeral services were conducted Sunday, October 20, 2:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Ricky Isaacs. Burial followed in the Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation was held between 6-9 p.m., Saturday, October 19th at the funeral home.
    Pallbearers were Dennis Gilbert, Stephen Gross, Jamie Richardson, Sammie King, Wesley Banks and James Robinson.

    Emma Lee Ballard Neal Bolton, age 79, widow of Travis Neal and George Bolton, passed away Wednesday morning, October 16, 2019 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, after a long illness.
    Mrs. Bolton was a native of Estill County, born February 14, 1940, daughter of the late James and Rosie Henry Ballard. She was a homemaker who enjoyed tending her rose garden, singing and playing her guitar, cooking and reading the bible. In her younger days Emma was known to be very skilled at horseshoes.
    She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Lee Neal; her siblings: Art Ballard, Edith West Spicer, TJ Ballard, Helen Barnes, Martha Ann Roe, and O.W. Ballard.
    Survivors include her children Danny Neal (Tonya), Travis Neal, Rosa Atkinson (William), and Della Ree "Delay" McKinney; her sister, Eva West; her grandchildren; Jeremy Atkinson, Jennifer Wides, Grover McKinney, Jeff McKinney, Cory Neal, and Jacob Neal; and her great grandchildren: Breckyn Atkinson and Elizabeth Wides.
    Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2019, at Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals. Burial will follow in the Sparks Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 10:00 a.m. until service time.

    Nora Cathrine McGee, age 80, of Byron Ridge Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at the Marcum and Wallace Hospital following a long illness.
    She was born June 1, 1940 in Estill County and was the daughter of Forester Brinegar and Ella Jo Richardson Brinegar. She was homemaker and was a member of the Church of God. She lived in Estill County most of her life.
    Mrs. McGee is survived by her husband, James Delmar McGee; three sons: James Randall McGee, Ohio; Timothy Lane McGee, Estill County; and Rodney Eugene McGee, Kenton County; three sisters: Ina Elliott, Phyllis Jo Horn; and Patricia Dean Eades, all of Estill County; and four grandchildren: Cody McGee, Ashton Stephens, Christian McGee, and Sean Michael McGee.
    She is preceded in death by one son, Bradley Scott McGee; and eight brothers: Billy Jewell, Lindburg Jewell, Chuck Brinegar, Don Brinegar, Sonny Brinegar, Jack Brinegar, Duke Brinegar, and Samuel Lambert.
    Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel.

    Betty Larrison, age 76, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at her residence.
    She was born April 5, 1943 in Irvine to Benjamin Franklin and Mary Alice Barnes. She was a housewife and was a faithful watcher of WLJC-TV.
    Mrs. Larrison is survived by four sons: Walter Snowden (Rose) of Stanton, Franklin Larrison (Joyce), William Larrison (Jennifer), and Terry Larrison, all of Irvine; four daughters: Connie Baker (Joe) of Richmond, Jennifer Crase (Joe) of Ohio, Kathren Carroll of Lexington, and Amanda Larrison of Irvine; 20 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; and a sister, Alice Brooks of Irvine.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Mary Barnes; her husband, Phillip Larrison; a grandson, Phillip Michael Larrison; six brothers: Preston Barnes, Richard “Dick” Barnes, Robert Barnes, Samuel Barnes, Glen Barnes, and William Barnes; and six sisters: Geraldine Barnes, Geneva Barnes, Ora Lee Jones, Zela Conner, Hazel Woolsey and Latisha Brooks.
    Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 18, 2019 at the Grayson Funeral Home, 201 7th Avenue in Clay City with Bro. Garry Jones officiating. Carrie Mae Chrisman Frye

    Carrie Mae Chrisman Frye, widow of Earl Frye and the daughter of the late Robert Cecil and Lottie Shelton Chrisman was born in Lee County, Kentucky on March 29, 1932 and departed this life in Irvine, Kentucky on October 14, 2019 at the age of 87 years, 6 months, and 16 days. She was a former employee of the Beattyville Dry Cleaners.
    Carrie is survived by her brother and sister, Charles Chrisman of Irvine, and Betty Spencer of Lee County, a very special nephew, Willard Chrisman (Linda) of Beattyville; and a host of several nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.
    In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her five brothers and sisters, Mary A. Brandenburg, Geneva Chrisman, Robert “Bug” Chrisman, Darlene Hacker, and Troy Chrisman; and her special friend, Oval Gross.
    Visitation was held Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Newnam Funeral Home Chapel, 108 Center Street, Beattyvile, 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. Interment was in Saint Helens Cemetery, 138 Hwy. 2019.
