Linda Carol Estes Riley

    Linda Carol Estes Riley, age 69, Beattyville, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019 at the Marcum and Wallace Hospital in Irvine.
    Linda was born February 10, 1950, in Oneida, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Virgil and Ola Mae Farler Estes. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ida May Bible Church and had a close personal relationship with God. She adored her family; she loved spending time with her children and grandbabies. She loved cooking for them and especially laughing with them.
    Mrs. Riley is survived by two sons: Allen Burton Riley and Chopper Riley (Mary Lou), both of Beattyville; a daughter, Kimberly Charles (Tim) of Irvine; two brothers: Bobby Joe Estes (Pearl) and Sammy Lee Estes (Gladys), both of Beattyville; one sister, Patty Ann Combs (AJ) of Beattyville; severn grandchildren: Trevor, Dylan, Tory, Matthew, Boone, Shelbi and Aaliegha; one great grandchild, Ava; and many other loving family members and friends.
    Along with her parents, Virgil and Ola Mae, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Burton Riley.
    Visitation will be held Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Booneville Funeral Home, 3450 Ky Hwy 11 North, Booneville, followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Colburn officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Riley Cemetery, located in the Delvinta Community of Lee County.

Franklin Douglas Brown

    Franklin Douglas Brown, age 77, husband of Lillian Marsh Brown, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at University of Kentucky Hospice Center in Lexington.
    He was born in Dayton, Ohio on September 19, 1942 to the late Roscoe and Gladys Walters Brown. The family later lived at Cressy in Estill County. He was a former employee of Clark Rural Electric and was a real estate broker, appraiser, auctioneer and owner of Frank Brown Realty. He was a past Master of Masonic Lodge 20/943 with 50 years of membership. He was a veteran of the Kentucky National Guard, serving six years in the guard.
    In addition to his loving wife of 54 years he is survived by one daughter, Carol Parker (Carl); one son, James Brown (Anga); six grandchildren: Chris Parker (Katie), Claire Abshire (Brenton), Ryder Brown, Turner Brown, Baylor Brown and Major Brown; six great grandchildren: Lily Parker, Delaney Parker, Ellis Parker, Jackson Parker, Asher Abshire and Maxwell Abshire; two sisters: Wanda Shindeldecker and Sharon Haynes; two brothers-in-law: Harry Marsh (Rita) and Richard Marsh (Linda); one sister-in-law, Naomi Horn; and several nieces and nephews.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Brown; his sister, Janet Witt Elliott; and his brothers-in-law, Ervon Gregory, Dan Shindeldecker, Earl Haynes, Harold Horn and Tom Marsh.
    Services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 31, 2019 in the Winchester Cemetery at the Glen White Shelter by Reverend Ryan Bradney. Visitation will be Tuesday, 10:00 AM until the service.
    Pallbearers will be Chris Parker, Brenton Abshire, Ryder Brown, Turner Brown, Baylor Brown and Major Brown.

    Rev. Forest Harrison, age 89 of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, formerly of Stanton, went to be with his Lord, Friday, December 27, 2019 at his residence with his family by his side
    He was born February 11, 1930 in Irvine, Kentucky, to Vannie and Julia Stevens Harrison.
    Mr. Harrison is survived by his wife, Mildred Napier of Stanton; three sons: James Harrison (Vilma) of Mt. Sterling, Stephen Harrison (Betty) of Stanton, and Lewis Harrison of Falmouth; a daughter, Wanda Carol Hill (Charles), Falmouth; 16 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 24 great, great grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanette Lee Harrison; a granddaughter, Brandy Rocklin; a great grandson, Brandon Roach; five brothers: Roy, Cegal, Cecil, Weldon and Wayne Harrison; and a sister, Lillian Withers.
    Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon, Monday, December 30, 2019 at the Camargo Unity Freewill Baptist Church, 4122 Camargo Road, Mount Sterling, with Bro. Chris Colley officiating. Friends may visit Sunday, December 29, 2019 from 6 'till 9 p.m. at the Church. Burial will follow in the Stanton Cemetery.

Toledo Glenn Newman

    Toledo Glenn Newman, age 64, of Dixie Plaza in Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019, at Baptist Health Lexington following a long illness.
    He was born June 6, 1955 in Madison County and was the son of the late Claude and Mary Elizabeth Bailey Newman. He served in the United States Marines and was a retired RV repairman. He had lived in Madison County most of his life.
    Mr. Newton is survived by two sisters, Helen Martin, Madison County; and Martha Horn, Estill County; and two brothers: Johnny Ray Newman, Estill County; and Ronald Newman, Laurel County.
    He was preceded in death by three sisters: Dorothy Faye Cole, Freide Mae Vanderpool, and Margie Ann Ramey; and three brothers: Ernest Gene Newman, James Paul Newman and Claude Newman, Jr.
    No services are scheduled.

    Roxand Walton, age 61, of Crooked Creek Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
    She was born March 12, 1958 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Colletties and Lou Ellen Horn Walton. She was a homemaker and had lived in Estill County all her life.
    Ms. Walton is survived by her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Walton, Estill County; one brother, Ricky Walton, Estill County; and one grandchild, Alexander Creed Herald.
    She was preceded in death by three brothers: Colletties Walton, Jr., Mark Walton and Daniel Walton.

Daniel Hunter Webster

    Daniel Hunter Webster, age 72, of Shirdell Drive in Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Lexington following a long illness.
    He was born September 28, 1947 in Whittier, California and was the son of the late John F. and Anne Terhune Webster. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era and was a retired Computrex employee. He was a member of the Ravenna Church of God.
    Mr. Webster is survived by his wife, Lois Brinegar Webster; two daughters: Holly Morris, Anderson County and Kelly Webster, Powell County; one son, Mark Webster, Powell County; two stepsons: Douglas Gerald, Estill County; and Aaron Gerald - Madison County; three sisters: Cindi Nave, Russell County; Melanie Burton, Florida; and Emily Hall, Fayette County; one brother, John Webster, Fayette County; and nine grandchildren.
    A memorial service will be held Monday, December 30, 2019, 11:00 a.m., at the Ravenna Church of God.

    Frances Talbott Kirkwood, age 85, passed away Wednesday, December 25. 2019.
    She was born June 10, 1934 in Clark County, Kentucky, to J. Scott and Mable Brooks Talbott, Sr.
    Ms. Kirkwood is survived by a daughter Cheri Black (David); two granddaughters: Brooks Ann Ecton and Sarah Frances Taylor, both of Irvine; a grandson, David Kirkwood I (Alex), Winchester; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
    Visitation will be Saturday, December 28, 2019, 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, 209 South Main Street, Winchester, with the graveside service at 1:00 p.m. at Winchester Cemetery.

William Allen Eckler

    William Allen Eckler, age 84, of North Madison in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at the Irvine Health and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness.
    He was born December 29, 1934 in Estill County and was the son of the late Francis Blaine Eckler and Alice Marie Shearer Eckler. He retired from Puckett Ford Garage and he was a member and deacon of the Calvary Baptist Church. He was the founder of the Calvary Heirs Quartet. He was an Irvine City Councilman for 38 years and served in the National Guard. He lived in Estill County all his life.
    Mr. Eckler is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Edra Murphy Eckler.
    He is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Blevins (Todd), Irvine; one son, Bill Eckler, II (Bonnie), Berea; one brother, John Eckler (Donna), Harrodsburg; four grandchildren: Adam Benton (Amber), Brett Benton (Dana), Evan Eckler (Lindsey), Emily Ecker, Chelsea Duff, and Cody Duff (Jessica); and six great grandchildren: Bekka Brooks, Sullivan and Adalyne Benton, Ellie and Asher Eckler, and Kayson Duff.
    He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene and Bob Eckler.
    Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 28, 2019, 1:00 p.m., at the Calvary Baptist Church by Todd Blevins, Evan Eckler, and Brett Benton. Burial will follow in the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m., Saturday, until service time at the church.

Sandra Sue Clark

    Sandra Sue Clark, age 74, passed away Monday, December 23, 2019 at her home in Frankfort, Kentucky.
    She was a native of Hamilton, Ohio, born September 29, 1945, the daughter of the late Ada House.
    Ms. Clark was preceded in death by a brother, James House.
    Survivors include her daughters: Sandra Pearson, Ada Young, and Renaye Merrill (Mark Kirby); her grandchildren: Savanna Butcher, James Butcher, Jesse Butcher, Johnathon Kirby, Kourtney Kirby, Steven Ross, Patricia Young, and Todd Clark; nine great grandchildren; her brother, Fred House (Lois); and her sister, Juanita Combs.
    Services will be held Friday, December 27, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals. Burial will follow in the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, Friday, anytime after 11:00 a.m. until service time.

Gladys Shuler Bellamy

    Gladys Shuler Bellamy, daughter of the late Walter and Molly McIntosh Shuler was born in Lee County, Kentucky on March 25, 1940 and departed this life in Beattyville, Kentucky on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the age of 79 years, 8 months, and 26 days.
    She is survived by her three children, Kathy Moreland of Beattyville, Susan Rogers of Stanton and Canas Rueben Bellamy (Krystal) of Hamilton, Ohio; several grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Wofford of Peru, Indiana; Irene York of Beattyville; and Edna Shuler of Irvine; and a host of other relatives and friends.
    Gladys was preceded in death by one son, Paul Douglas Bellamy; and two brothers, Lonnie and James Shuler.
    Services will be scheduled at at later date.

Billie Wayne “B. W.” Luster

    Billie Wayne “B. W.” Luster, age 75, of Waco, Kentucky, passed away Friday, December 20, 2019 at St. Joseph Hospital – Main in Lexington.
    Mr. Luster, the son of Luther Luster and Lillie Mae Dozier Peters, was born in Madison County on April 15, 1944. He was a brakeman for CSX Transportation. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to drive and frequent yard sales. Few people know that he was a big fan of the Swedish pop band ABBA. As to his comical side, after the death of his beloved Pomeranian, Missy, he went on to name his next two dogs, Missy 2 and Missy 3. He was also very proud to have served as a United States Army veteran.
    Mr. Luster united in marriage to Stella Cross who preceded him in death.
    Survivors include: his son: John Luster (Crystal) of Irvine; four daughters: Sherry Carrasco of Richmond, Pamela Parsons of Lexington, Tasha Spurlock of Berea and Ashley Luster of Richmond; three brothers: Paul Luster (Brenda), Doug Luster (Agnes) and Charles Luster (Beverly); two sisters: Goldie Hiten and Debbie Luster; his sister-in-law, Brenda Luster; and eight grandchildren: Trevor Jenkins, Kaleigh Carrasco, Sasha Carrasco, Brooklyn Luster, Kelsey Luster, Ashton Luster, Eli Spurlock and Molly Spurlock.
    In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his infant son, Brian Luster; two infant twin sons: Robert and Franklin Luster; three brothers: James Luster, Donald Luster and an infant brother who died at birth; and his sister, Joyce Peters.
    Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 23, 2019 at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, 328 West Main Street, Richmond. Visitation begins at 11:00 a.m., Monday at the funeral home.

    Rev. Cova Estill Duvall passed away at the age of 95.
    He is survived by his beautiful wife of 70 years, Constance “Connie” Bush Duvall; his daughter, Rebecca June Abney (Terry); one step-granddaughter, Aleathea LaTerah Abney and her fiancé Michael Wells; his God-granddaughter, Madisyn Bailie Rae Green; his son, David Estill Duvall (Ladonna Sue); a grandson, Timothy Estill Duvall (Adrienne Cates); two great granddaughters: Josephine and Neallie Duvall; a granddaughter, Samantha Sue Cox (Cody); and a great granddaughter, Adeline Sue Cox.
    Visitation will be at Corinth Baptist Church, 1405 Trapp Goffs Corner Road, Winchester, on Friday evening, December 20, 2019 between 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A worship service is scheduled at the Church for Saturday, December 21st at 1:00 p.m.

Deborah Lou “Star” Johnson

    Deborah Lou “Star” Johnson, age 67, passed peacefully in her home on Monday, December 16, 2019 with her daughter Hannah by her side.
    She was born in Wilmington, Ohio on September 18, 1952 to the late Bill Mullen and Janice Law Mullen Manley.
    Star was a musician at heart, with a love for singing, songwriting, and bluegrass music, producing one album of her own. She was a Christian woman and was a nurse for 47 years, working in many settings, including hospitals, homes health, nursing homes and private duty.
    Survivors include one daughter, Hannah Roberts (Kyle); two grandsons, Dakota and Carson Roberts; and two brothers, David Mullen (Susan) and Tommy Mullen. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike and Scott Mullen.
    Star enjoyed singing and playing guitar, cooking, camping, and traveling. She always had a song for any situation, and wouldn’t hesitate to sing at any moment. One of her favorite phrases was “Let’s Play Some Music.”
    She was a flower child, living life to the fullest. She spent several of her younger years living in Juneau, Alaska, in a tent, making her living singing; then hitchhiking home in the winter months.
    She loved to spend time with her grandsons, who were always excited to see their “GiGi.”
    A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2019 at 12:00 Noon by Pastor Lee Cruse at Scobee Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 Noon at the funeral home. At her request, visitation will also have a “jam session,” open to anyone who has picked and grinned with her. Bring your instruments and your voices to pay tribute to her.
