Jimmy Wayne McCreary

    Jimmy Wayne McCreary, age 75, of Twin Creek Road in Irvine passed away Saturday, February 15, 2020, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, following a long illness.
    He was born December 6, 1944 in Madison County and was the son of the late Fred and Nancy Gilliam McCreary. He was owner of McCreary Builders and a member of the Irvine First Baptist Church. He was a former member of the National Guards.
    Mr. McCreary is survived by his wife, Bertha Lynn “Bo” Reynolds McCreary; two sons: Jimmy Douglas McCreary (June), Estill County; and Jeffrey Wayne McCreary (Teresa), Midway; two sisters: Betty Jean Becknell and Lois Jones (Kenneth), both of Madison County; one brother, Gale McCreary (Nettie), Madison County; and five grandchildren: Parker Douglas McCreary, Allie Madden McCreary, Jesse McCreary, Cody Bowles and Tanner Williams.
    He was preceded in death by two brothers, Freddie and William Douglas McCreary.
    Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 20, 2020, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Merle Travis. Friends may call between 6 and 9 p.m., Wednesday, February 19th at the funeral home.

Ronald C. Isfort

    Ronald C. Isfort, age 76, of Crooked Creek Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, after a short illness.
    He was born July 8, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio and was the son of the late Karl and Betty Mueller Isfort. He was a graduate of Lindsey Wilson University and Eastern Kentucky University with associate and bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration. He retired from a 40-year career in the restaurant food service industry. Post-retirement he enjoyed working as a cashier at Redi-Mart in Richmond, and umpiring softball for the Richmond Parks and Recreation Department. He enjoyed his grandkids and watching them play sports and was also a fan of University of Kentucky basketball, Cincinnati Reds and the Bengals. He was a member of the Crooked Creek Christian Church.
    Mr. Isfort is survived by his wife, Kay Dixon Isfort; one son, John Isfort (Donna), Estill County; one daughter, Karley Holcombe (Maynard) Cincinnati; one brother, Richard “Dick” Isfort, Cincinnati; six grandchildren: Taylor Anne Isfort, Kaylee Ray Isfort, Lindsey Morgan Isfort, Will “Little Man” Isfort, Kristina Long and Elizabeth Holcombe; and two great grandchildren: Carter and Carson Bryant.
    He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Mary Anne Isfort.
    Funeral services were conducted Monday, February 17, 2020, 11:00 a.m., at the Crooked Creek Christian Church. Burial was at the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m, Sunday, February 16th at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home and after 10:00 a.m., Monday, at the Church.
    Pallbearers were Will “Little Man” Isfort, Robert Smith, Randall Christopher, Jimmy Combs, Dylan Fugate and Taylor O’Hair.
    Honorary pallbearers were Maynard Holcombe, Donnie Arvin, Leonard Stone, Tom Blackburn and members of the Crooked Creek Christian Church.

Samantha Jean Smith

    Samantha Jean Smith, 53, wife of Cyle Smith, died on Saturday, February 8, 2020 in Richmond, Kentucky at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center.
    Born on September 20, 1966, she was the daughter of Deloris Jean Maupin Pearson and the late Shirley Ray Pearson. Samantha was a housewife and she enjoyed reading, cleaning, going to her church, spending time with her family and her two special dogs. She attended church at the New Life Apostolic Church in Irvine, Kentucky.
    Other than her husband Cyle, she is survived by one son, Kyle Ray Smith of Richmond; one daughter, Sherrie Lynn Smith (Justin Cody Miller) of Richmond; her mother, Deloris Jean Maupin Pearson; two brothers, Buford Ray Pearson and Shelby Pearson; two sisters, Joanne Willis and Annette Davis; a special nephew, Cory Lee Wilson; as well as a host of other nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 14, 2020 at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, 1110 Barnes Mill Road in Richmond. Burial will follow in the Old Wallace Cemetery in Paint Lick, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until funeral time Friday at the funeral home.

Dale Burdette Goosey

    Dale Burdette Goosey, age 60, of John Rawlins Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020, at his home following a short illness. He was born July 4, 1959 in Dayton, Ohio and was the son of Alma Marcum Jenkins and the late Blondell Goosey. He was a carpenter and had lived in Estill County the past 20 years.
    Mr. Goosey is survived by his wife, Tamara Spurlock; one daughter, Amanda Goosey, Estill County; one son, Jacob Goosey (Christen) Estill County; four sisters: Ann Fields, Sue Goosey, both of Estill County; Teresa Sparks, Clark County; and Sharon Caldwell, Ohio; and four grandchildren: Haleigh Goosey, Ricky Goosey, Adason Goosey and Oaklee Crabtree.
    He was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Goosey; and two siblings: Janice Murphy and Cecil Frank Goosey.
    Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday, February 12, 2020, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home by Bro. Mark B. Patrick. Friends may call from 12:00 Noon to service time at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday.

Teresa Carol Hamm

    Teresa Carol Hamm, age 55, of New Fox Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2020, at her home following a long illness.
    She was born June 23, 1964 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Scotty Ray and Helen Anglin Hamm. She was a homemaker and attended the Holiness Church. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
    Teresa is survived by one daughter, Audrey Helen Burchfield, Estill County; one son, Scotty Daniel Murphy, Estill County; two sisters: Joyce Walter and Sandy Flynn, Estill County; three brothers: Billy Ray Hamm, Gregory Lamar Hamm, and Jamie Scott Hamm, all of Estill County; and three grandchildren: Nathaniel Scott Murphy, Karmen Blue Burchfield and Hosea Gene Burchfield.
    She was preceded in death by a brother, Christopher Todd Hamm.
    Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Janet Estes Sidwell

    Janet Estes Sidwell, age 79, widow of Ronald Clay Sidwell, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2020 at the Lexington Country Place in Lexington, Kentucky.
    She was born on October 16, 1940 in Estill County to the late Virgil and Beatrice Hall Estes. She was homemaker and a member of Athens Christian Church.
    She is survived by three sons: Larry Sidwell (Wendi), David Sidwell (Angie) and Steven Sidwell (Lisha); four grandchildren: Tamara Forsyth (Ben), Kade Sidwell, Morgan Garrett (Micheal) and Chad Adams; three great grandchildren: Boone Forsyth, Sawyer Garrett and Paxton Garrett; one sister, Karen Abney (Greg); one brother, Douglas Estes (Omie); and several nieces and nephews.
    Services were at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Scobee Funeral Home, 219 West Lexington Avenue, Winchester, by Pastor Mike McCormick. Visitation was Tuesday, 1:00 p.m., until the time of the service. Burial followed in the Winchester Cemetery.
    Pallbearers were Chad Adams, Morgan Garrett, Kade Sidwell, Tamara Forsyth, Micheal Garrett, and Ben Forsyth.

Wade Skinner

    Wade Skinner was born December 15, 1932 in Jackson County, Kentucky and departed this life Friday, February 7, 2020 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, being 87 years of age. He was the son of the late Jackson and Ida Mae Turner Oldham Skinner.
    Wade is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Skinner of Lexington; by one brother, Oldham Skinner of Irvine; and one sister Carolyn Sue Collins of Franklin County. He was a member of the West End Baptist Church.
    Funeral services were at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at the Lakes McKee Funeral Home, 1181 Main Street South, McKee, with Bro. Wesley Shephard officiating with burial following in the Pilot Knob Cemetery in Berea.

    Joyce Darlene Kincaid, age 60, of Duckers Road in Midway, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2020 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, following a short illness.
    She was born September 26, 1959 in Fayette County to the late Roosevelt Soard and Betty Hood Lay. She was a homemaker and lived in Versailles most of her life.
    Kincaid is survived by two daughters: Jessica Hall and Keitha LaPaige Estes, both of Estill County; one son, Frank Ryan Curtis Rayburn, Clark County; one sister, Lee Ann Dyer, Madison County; six brothers: Matthew Halton, Powell County; Frank Soard, Franklin County; Michael Soard, Albert Roberts, both of Woodford County; Glenn Soard, Texas; and Henry Lay, Woodford County; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
    She was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Nicole Reed; one son, Jamie Lee Kincaid; one sister, Sonia Gail Soard; and two brothers, Gary Roberts and Walter Soard.
    Funeral services were conducted Sunday, February 9, 2020, 2:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends called after 12:00 Noon, Sunday, until service time at the funeral home.
    Pallbearers were Patrick Dyer, Frankie Dyer, Michael Dyer, Morgan Dyer, Frank Dyer, and Steve Dyer.
