Wayne Wiseman

    Wayne Wiseman, age 81, of Winchester Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2020, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
    He was born December 20, 1938 in Estill County and was the son of the late Charlie and Annie Powell Wiseman. He was a retired mason and attended the Stacy Lane Pentecostal Church. He had lived in Estill County all his life.
    Mr. Wiseman was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Belle Gross Wiseman.
    He is survived by five daughters: Orpha Jo Oliver (Sidney Jr.), Doris Ann Edmonson (Larry), both of Estill County; Reva Darlene Robinson (Mike), Greenup County; Sandra Sue Chaney, Estill County; and Mary Kay Agee (Rick), Madison County; eight grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and four great, great grandchildren.
    Mr. Wiseman was preceded in death by one grandson, one great grandson, five sisters and four brothers.
    Friends may call between 6 and 9 p.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Private funeral services will be held with burial at the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
    Pallbearers will be Jeff Oliver, Greg Pell, Glen Johnson, John McKinney, Darrell Estes and Jayden Estes.
    Honorary pallbearer is Dalton Estes.

JoNell “Jane” Barnes

    JoNell “Jane” Barnes, age 76, of Cynthiana, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2020 at her residence.
    She was born in Estill County on November 19, 1943 to the late Jesse Benjamin and Bessie McCoy Watson.
    Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Barnes; two sons: Jeff Barnes and Mike Barnes; one daughter, Darlene Jones; three brothers: Gaylord Watson, Benjamin “Benny” Watson, and Eddie Watson; and two grandchildren: Kimberly Barnes and Vanessa Jones.
    She is survived by one daughter, Peggy S. Taylor (Jason); two brothers: Jimmy Watson and Duwayne Watson; two sisters: Patsy Powell (Buddy) and Barbara Cole; five grandchildren: Dylan, Matthew, and Makayla Taylor; Sarah Jo Barnes and Rebecca Jones Warner (Anthony); four great grandchildren: Mackenzie Fightmaster, Bayler Warner, Owen Warner, and Addilynn Marsh; and a special friend, Glen Thacker.
    A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Beard Cemetery, KY-32 North at Renaker in Harrison County, with Bro. Kevin Strausbaugh officiating.
    Pallbearers will be Anthony Warner, Dylan Taylor, Jason Taylor, Matthew Taylor, Brandon Dees, and Sandy Barnes.

    Nathaniel Ryan Brezeale, 29, Nicholasville, Kentucky, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020.
    He was born in Richmond, Kentucky on December 19, 1990 to Gail Nevil Rawlins and Grady Brezeale.
    In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Luke Ryan Brezeale; brothers, Steven Brezeale (Holly), David Brezeale, and Daniel Brezeale; and the mother of his son, Steffany Dodson.
    Private family services will be held at Clark Legacy Center.

Sherman David Alcorn

    Sherman David Alcorn, age 59, of Mountain Crest in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, after a short illness.
    He was born October 20, 1960 in Dayton, Ohio and was the son of the late Sherman and Blanche Rawlins Alcorn. He served in the United States Army and United States Marine Corps. He was a former employee of the Estill County Road Department.
    Mr. Alcorn was preceded in death by his wife, Angela Jean Tussey Alcorn.
    He is survived by three daughters: Ashley Townsend (Jason), McKee; Cortney Mitchell (Ronald), Irvine; and Tiffany Alcorn, Florida; one son, Jeramie Alcorn, Irvine; two brothers: Floyd Alcorn, Irvine; and Ronnie Alcorn (Kris), Illinois; and eight grandchildren.
    Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Israel Shane Mills

    Israel Shane Mills, age 38, of Old Landing Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2020, at the University of Louisville Hospital.
    He was born March 8, 1982 in Fayette County and was the son of Langford Ray Mills and Janie Carol Martin Mosley. He was a construction worker and a member of the Rice Station Christian Church. He had lived in Estill County most of his life.
    Survivors in addition to his father and mother include two daughters: Brooklyn Mills and Bridget Mills, both of Lancaster; one sister, Amanda Beth Gerber, Georgetown; and his girlfriend, Sara Reed, Louisville.
    He was preceded in death by one daughter, Brianna Mills.
    Friends called between 6 and 9 p.m., Saturday, August 8, 2020, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Private funeral services were conducted Sunday, August 9th by Bro. Larry McIntosh at the funeral home. Burial was at the West Irvine Cemetery.
    Pallbearers were Steven Stamper, Anthony Martin, Dustin Gerber, Taylor Gerber, Jason Davis, Billy Chaney and Billy Eldridge.

Doris Marie Hardy

    Doris Marie Hardy, age 96, of Mockingbird Lane in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2020, at her home following a short illness.
    She was born October 3, 1923 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Sherman Lee and Cordelia Doutaz Crawford. She was a retired Postmaster and a member of the Rice Station Christian Church. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
    Mrs. Hardy was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Thomas Hardy, Jr.
    She is survived by two sons: Butch Hardy (Brenda) and Pepper Hardy (Joyce), both of Estill County; one sister, Jean Whitaker, Madison County; four grandchildren: Michelle H. Osborne (Greg), Michael T. Hardy (Anissa), Jennifer Hall (Matthew) and Mark Hardy (Leslie); and 13 great grandchildren.
    Mrs. Hardy was preceded in death by her brothers, William S. and Walter Crawford.
    Friends may call between 6 and 9 p.m., Friday, August 7, 2020 at the Rice Station Christian Church. Due to Covid-19, private funeral services were held on Saturday at the church with Bro. Joe Hall officiating. Burial was at the West Irvine Cemetery.
    Pallbearers were Hudson Hardy, Mark Hardy, Gabe Hall, Matthew Hall, Will Sharp, Brandon Osborne, Greg Osborne, Berkley Hardy, and Michael Hardy.

    Brenda Kay Bailey, 55, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at her home.
    Brenda was born on July 7, 1965 in Estill County. She was the daughter of Rosie Marie Conner and the late Foister Duke Brinegar. She worked in housekeeping at Telford Terrace and was of the Christian faith. She loved being with her family and friends.
    Survivors include her mother, Rosie Marie Brinegar; four sons, Robert Todd Brinegar (Tiffany Whitaker), Herbert Gary Bailey III, both of Richmond, Jonathan Bailey of Illinois, and Jeffrey Duke Brinegar of Richmond; four daughters, Ashley Brinegar (Jerry Hamilton), Carrie Houck (Tyler Houck), Gerrie Bailey, and Chassity Brinegar, all of Richmond; eight grandchildren, Hailie, Jordan, Taylen, Caylee, June, Calie Kay, Chloe, and Kingston; one brother, Anthony Brinegar; two sisters, Tonya Sue Abrams and Crystal Luster; and four special friends, Cindy Hollins, Kim Johnson, Betty Henry, and Connie Abaunza.
    In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her fiancé, Lonnie Charles Lewis.
    A funeral service for Brenda will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, 1110 Barnes Mill Road, Richmond. Burial will follow in the McIntosh Cemetery at Green’s Crossing.
    Pallbearers will be Robert Brinegar, Herbert Bailey, Jeff Brinegar, Jerry Hamilton, Jordan Bailey, and Taylen Brinegar.
    Visitation will be from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at the funeral home.

    Edith Hall, age 95, of Dayton, Ohio, formerly of Cobb Hill, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2020, while surrounded by her loving family.
    She was born the daughter of Lemon V. & Mary Ellen Hall Stamper on October 22, 1924 in Estill County, Kentucky.
    Edith is preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Ray Hall; parents; sisters: Lodena Sowder, Ovalene Pendergast, and Jewel Johnson; and brothers: Glenn, Shirley, and Ray Stamper.
    She is survived by her daughters: Vera Fields (Jack), Rita Kelly, both of Fairborn, Ohio; Sherry Walters of Vandalia, Ohio; and Theresa Fields (David) of Dayton, Ohio; sons: Timothy R. Hall of Eaton, Ohio and Kerry M. Hall of Michigan; 17 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 16 great, great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
    Edith was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be missed by all of those who love her. Edith was a faithful follower of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a long-time member of New Life Apostolic Church in Irvine.
    Friends may call on Thursday, August 6, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals, 224 Main Street, Irvine, Kentucky where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 .m. with Pastor Ken Majors officiating. Interment will follow in the Cobb Hill Cemetery.

Clayton Timothy Caudill

    Clayton Timothy Caudill, son of Nannie Kate Caudill and the late Arthur Lee Caudill was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 23, 1980 and departed this life on August 1, 2020 in Richmond, Kentucky at the age of 40 years, 1 month, and 8 days. He was a carpenter by trade and a member of Faith Baptist Church.
    In addition to his mother, Katie; Clayton is survived by his very special lady, Amanda Tackett of Richmond; four children, Chase Ross, Selena Willis, Kristen Caudill, and Shane Tackett Caudill; four brothers and sisters, Arthur Caudill, Jr. of Beattyville, Cynthia Jean Willis (Mike), Outer Banks, North Carolina; William Charles Caudill (Crystal) of Dayton, Ohio; and Sherry Burton (Mark) Ironton, Ohio; two granddaughters and a host of other relatives and friends.
    Clayton was preceded in death by his father.
    Funeral services were private.

    Ida Mae Mansfield, age 96, of Kirksville Road in Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at the Compassionate Care Center following a long illness.
    She was born May 25, 1924 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Joe Mack and Jenetta Rawlins Rader. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ravenna Church of God. She had lived in Estill County most of her life.
    Mrs. Mansfield is survived by five daughters: Phyllis Adair (Johny), Florida; Von Joy Norris (Tom), Richmond; Colleen Thomas (Randall) Vydra Kirby (Jerry), and Cheryl Arvin, all of Irvine; three sons: Dwight Mansfield (Rhonda), Irvine; Dolphus Mansfield (Kathy), Georgia; and Anthony Mansfield, Irvine; one sister, Jenette Washburn, Ohio; 18 grandchildren: Tammy Tipton, Trina Reffett, Kristy Tackett, Ransom Adair, Candace Adair, Vanessa Payne, Nicole Mansfield, Randi Slusser, Ralden Mansfield, Suzanne Dziegiel, Colin Thomas, Kelly Thomas, Erica Thomas, Billie Neil, Matthew Kirby, Lance Hager, Krystal McNally, Rachel Mansfield, and Nivra Lainhart; several great grandchildren and several great, great grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by two sons, Darrell Cox and Dexter Mansfield; and several brothers and sisters.
    Funeral services were conducted Monday, August 10, 2020 at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Willie Gordon. Burial was at the Oakdale Cemetery. Friends called from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home
    Pallbearers were Nivra Lainhart, Matthew Kirby, Ransom Adair, Casey Tipton, Cody Means, Stephen Conrad, Jacob Conrad, and Chris Tipton.

Richard Darren Kelley

    Richard Darren Kelley, age 54, of Dry Ridge Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2020, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital following a short illness.
    He was born July 20, 1966 in Lee County and was the son of Jessie Mae Lamb Kelley Neal and the late Robert Stanley Kelley. He was an employee of the Lexington Quarry and was a member of the Shriners. He had lived in Estill County all his life. At his death, he gave the gift of life through organ donation.
    Mr. Kelley is survived by his wife, Wilma Lee Sparks Kelley; two daughters: April Harrison and Clarissa Harrison, both of Estill County; three sisters: Agnes Faye Ross (Donald), Rhonda Riley, both of Estill County; and Jennifer Brewer (Brian), Wolfe County; three brothers: Billy Kelley (Loretta), Jimmy Brown Kelley and Stanley Ray Kelley (Sharon), all of Estill County; three grandchildren: Brooklyn Crowe, Charlee Crowe and Taylor Williams; several nieces and nephews and a host of special cousins and friends

    Freeda Marie Lucas, age 91, passed away Monday, July 27, 2020 at the Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center in Pikeville, Kentucky.
    She was born on January 28, 1929 to her parents the late John Sergent and Norma Mullins Sergent. She was the wife of the late John L. Lucas, a retired school teacher for Letcher County Schools, and a member of White Shrine Neon Chapter. Freeda was a member of Pikeville First Baptist Church and was prior a member of Haymond Freewill Baptist for 47 years.
    Along with her husband and parents, Freeda was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Alan Lucas; two brothers, Claude and Danny Sergent; and two sisters, Jeanie Coots and Shirley Fellure.
    Freeda is survived by one daughter, Sharon Brewer (Steve), one son, Phillip Lucas (Susan); two brothers, John Ed Sergent and William Sergent; two sisters, Mary Francis Fairchild and Laura Jane Vanderheyden; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends.
    Visitation was held on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home in Pikeville. The funeral was held following at 12:00 Noon at the funeral home with John Lucas officiating. Burial followed in the Lucas Cemetery at Shelby Gap.

    Donald Norton, Sr., age 52, of Red Lick Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020, at the Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, following a short illness.
    He was born February 10, 1968 in Estill County and was the son of Christine Kirby and the late Bill Norton. He was an employee of Bluegrass Plating and had lived in Estill County all his life.
    Survivors, in addition to his mother include his wife, Melissa Pearl Hines Norton; three daughters: Amanda Wireman (Brad), Madison County; Kaylee Powell-Norton, and Kayla Hines (Holden), both of Estill County; two sons: Donald Norton, Jr. (Jennifer), Madison County; and Chris Norton (Ashley), Estill County; five grandchildren, and a special nephew, Elijah Murphy, Estill County.
    Friends called between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 30, 2020 at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Private graveside services were conducted afterwards at the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
    Pallbearers were Bradley Wireman, Holden Hardy, Terry Melton, Marvin Hunt, Wade Barger, and Phillip Kirby.
    Honorary pallbearers were Elijah Murphy, Keighley Wireman and Lian Norton.
