Norma Lois Graham

    Norma Lois Graham, age 87, of Turpin Ridge Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020, at her home following a short illness.
    She was born September 13, 1933 in Lee County and was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Opal McKinney Horn. She was a homemaker and member of the Providence Baptist Church.
    Mrs. Graham is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Graham.
    She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Arthur (Bill), Estill County; two sons: Shannon Graham and Doyle (Connie) Graham, both of Estill County; seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
    Mrs. Graham was preceded in death by two sons, Bobby Darrell and Billy Paul Graham.
    Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, October 7, 1:00 p.m., at the Turpin Cemetery by Bro. Tim Roberts.
    Pallbearers will be Robert Graham, Scott Graham, Michael Arthur, Andy Graham, Robby Graham and Bradley Graham.
    In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Providence Baptist Church Building Fund.

Bettye Ann Edwards

    Bettye Ann Edwards, age 85, of Gum Bottom Road in Waco, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020, at Morning Pointe in Richmond following a short illness.
    She was born May 29, 1935 in Irvine and was the daughter of the late Jordan and Anna Belle Estes Neal. She was a retired school bus driver with the Hoosiers Upland School System and a member of the Rice Station Christian Church.
    Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her husband, Max Edwards.
    She is survived by her daughter, Teresa VanWinkle (Roy), Waco, Kentucky; two stepchildren: Teresa Edwards Sherman and Todd Edwards, both of Indiana; three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; and two nieces and two nephews.
    Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by three siblings, Bonnie Baker, Elmer Neal and Jim Neal.
    Private funeral services will be conducted at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home by Bro. Joe Hall. Burial will be at the Stampers Creek Cemetery in Indiana.

Robert Leon Roberts Sr.

    Robert Leon Roberts Sr., age 85, husband of Ruby Brinegar Roberts, passed away Friday, October 2, 2020 at the Marcum-Wallace Memorial Hospital.
    Leon was born January 6, 1935, and raised in Estill County. He lived in Ohio for 20 years while he worked at the Athena Paper Company, where he served as union steward, and was also vice president of Roberts Furniture.
    He returned to Irvine in 1971. He was elected as mayor of Irvine in 1981. He recently served on the Residents Council at the Irvine Health and Rehab Center. He was very involved and loved his community greatly.
    Leon had many, many friends, and he never met a stranger. He loved politics and was a pure Republican thru and thru. He enjoyed farming, and always gave more away than he kept or sold; he was the best tobacco cutter around.
    He was a champion coon hunter, an avid horseman, who enjoyed trail ridding and horse shows. Leon was a true blue UK basketball fan. No matter where he was or what he was doing, he was always joking, picking and pranking. We will all miss his smile, laugh, visits and phone calls.
    Survivors others than his loving wife of 64 years Ruby, include his daughter, Debra R. Kissick (Roger); his son, Robert "Robbie" Roberts (Shaye); his granddaughters: Rachel Roberts (Nick) and Ratisha Puckett (Jacob); and great grandsons, Brennan, Lukas, Shelby, and Taylor.
    Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his parents, Dudley Grand and Effie Williams Roberts; his brothers, Dudley Jr., Brown, and Herbert; and his sisters, Eula Mae Roberts, Geneva Harris, Euphemia Tipton, Rowena Newton, and Mary Horn.
    Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 6th at Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals, with Jim Bonny and Chris Greene officiating. Burial will follow in the Brinegar Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 11:00 a.m. until service time.
    Pallbearers will be Ken Brinegar, Buddy Horn, Lance Horn, Jamie Bingham, Justin Bingham, and Jacob Puckett.

    Shirley Mae Walters, age 78, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, October 2, 2020 at her residence.
    She was born October 29, 1941 in Irvine to Tolby and Lucille Roberts Horn. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethel Christian Church.
    Mrs. Walters is survived by her husband of 56 years, Steve Walters of Irvine; a son, Jeff Walters (Amy) of Winchester; two daughters: Taresa Barnes (Tim) and Pam Walters, both of Irvine; four grandchildren: Matthew Barnes, Sabrina Perry, Tanner Walters, and Hagan Walters; and two great grandchildren: Arabella Perry and Preston Perry.
    She was preceded in death by her parents.

Lucy McKinney Martin

    Lucy McKinney Martin, the widow of Robert Samuel Martin, and the daughter of the late Harvey and Anne Powell McKinney, was born in Fayette County, Kentucky on January 14, 1944 and departed this life in Beattyville, Kentucky on October 2, 2020 at the age of 76 years, 8 months and 18 days. She was a homemaker and a member of the Riverview Baptist Church in Jessamine County, Kentucky.
    She is survived by seven children: Lydia Rucker of Kilgore, Texas; Sam Flinchum Jr. of Irvine; George Flinchum, Anna Slone, William Flinchum Jr. and Jeffery Flinchum, all of Lexington; and Lucinda Ross of Winchester; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Virgie Holder and Estill McKinney of Georgetown, Shirley Cook of Richmond, Charles McKinney of Jessamine County, and Susie McKinney of London, Kentucky; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; a son, Robert Lee Martin; a daughter, Betty Ann Couch; and several brothers and sisters.
    Interment will be at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville.

    Randy Lee Rainey, age 63, husband of Pamela Joy Bailey Rainey, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Clark Regional Medical Center.
    A native of Winchester, Kentucky, he was born on March 16, 1957, to the late Roy Lee and Sara Geneva Hatton Rainey. He was a heavy equipment operator.
    In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Shannon Leigh Bailey Poe and Karrie Welch; four grandchildren, Christopher Lee Poe, Damien Scott Poe, Natalie Welch and Colton Stamper; and a brother, Harold "Frosty" Rainey.

    Mark Ansel Watts, 55, husband of Robin Boyd Watts, passed away, Monday, September 28, 2020. He was retired from Clark Energy as foreman, after 26 years of service.
    A native of Clark County, he was born February 6, 1965, the son of Evelyn Hudson Watts and the late John Kenneth Watts.
    In addition to his wife, Mark is survived by his mother, Evelyn Hudson Watts; one son, Justin Mark Watts (Whitley Anne); one daughter, Rebecca Lopez (fiance' Steven Bricknell); a sister, Angie Miller (Jerry), Parrish, Florida; a brother, Mike Watts, Winchester; eight grandchildren: Weylin Mark, Bailey Brooke, Coleman Avery, Coleman Allen, Leland Wyatt, and Skylar Mae Watts; Zane Lopez and Stetson Bricknell; and three special brothers-in-law, Joe, Randy and Steven Boyd; also, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
    He is preceded in death by his father, Bro. John Kenneth Watts; and two brothers, John Stephen and David Anthony "Tony" Watts.

Douglas Edward Shean

    Douglas Edward Shean, age 55, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, after a long illness.
    He was born on May 23, 1965, in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Gordon Edward Shean and Adah Eulaine Gray. While Douglas was the spitting image of Gordon, his personality was much closer to Eulaine’s, and his sense of humor was uniquely his own.
    Doug was preceded in death by his father and one son, Hunter Shean.
    Other than his loving and devoted mother, he is survived by his sister, Wanda Thompson (Bobby), whom he often teased by telling her that her food needed more seasoning; so now, holiday meals will be much more bland.
    Doug is also survived by sons: Cory Shean (Kaitlyn) and Trey Shean (Marlene), both of whom he taught life lessons whether they wanted them or not; by a daughter, Shanna Shean; and by five awesome grandchildren who stole his heart: Jayden, Sophia, Brookelynn, Miya, and Kayden.
    When he wasn’t teasing his nieces (Tiffany Patrick and Dana Thompson), he could be found building model cars or watching TV shows from the 1960s. For extra fun, Doug liked to go fishing and to gossip like two old women with his best friend, Otis Cox.
    He is also survived by his special friend and awesome home health nurse, Rhonda Harrison; and the most amazing GI doctor UK has, Dr. Deborah Flomenhoft, who was not only his doctor and advocate but more importantly, his friend.
    Visitation will be on Saturday,October 3, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals, followed by services at 2:00 p.m. with burial in West Irvine Cemetery.
    Pallbearers will be Greg Henry, Jerame Conrad, David Brezeale, Gary Long, Chris Goosey and Trey Shean.

    Arine Wiseman Henry, age 88, of Newport, Kentucky passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020, at the St. Elizabeth Hospice Center following a long illness.
    She was born October 1, 1932 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Sam and Sally Ann Walling Wiseman. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God. She enjoyed gardening and was very involved with her great grandkids.
    Mrs. Henry was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Henry.
    She is survived by two daughters: Teresa Sue Smith (Hays), Highland Heights; and Anna Marie Grotjan (Tom), Alexandria; a daughter-in-law, Donna Henry, Crescent Springs; five sisters: Opal West, St. Matthews; Aleen Muncie, Deloise Long, Polly Hall, all of Estill County; and Wilma Chaney - Fayette County; one brother, Phillip Wiseman, LaGrange; three grandchildren: Bryan Henry (Amanda), Adam Smith (Rachel) and Tommie Klayman (Micah) and nine great grandchildren.
    Mrs. Henry was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Samuel Henry; and one sister, Linda Lou Abney.

    Della Marie Keller Jacobs, age 92, of Irvine, Kentucky, widow of Leonard Jacobs, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020.
    A native of Winchester, Kentucky, she was born on July 14, 1928, to the late Arthur and Anna Smith Keller. She was a seamstress and a member of Ivory Hill Baptist Church.
    She is survived by her daughters, Diane Jacobs Bates and Phyllis Tipton; eight grandchildren, Austin Tipton (Sherry), Timmy Tipton, Larry Tipton, Karen Brooks (Vernon), Shannon Congleton, Wayne Congleton, Helen Flinchum (Dan) and Kimberly Link (Anthony); several great grandchildren and great, great children, including a special great, great granddaughter, Jaelynn Miles; and brothers and sisters, Harold Keller, Gerald “Bud” Keller, Linda Keller Sparks and Janet Snowden.

    Audrey Jean Caudill, age 83, was born May 7, 1937 in Perry County, Kentucky. She spent most of her life growing up in Blackey, Kentucky. Audrey departed this life on Sunday, September 27, 2020 and went to her heavenly home with her Lord.
    Audrey was a member of the Blackey Missionary Church in Blackey. She loved going to church and singing hymns. She was the daughter of the late Curt and Sarah Logan Caudill.
    She was preceded in death by three brothers, Michael Allen Caudill, Gary Melvin "Pee Wee" Caudill, and Larry Curtis Caudill; and three sisters, Maxine Osman, Anna Mary Caudill, and Geneva Caudill.
    Audrey is survived by three sisters, Marsha Caudill (Charles), Irvine; Sandra Smith, Hazard; and Sadie Tipton, Irvine; and three brothers, John Caudill (Shirley), Letcher; Alonzo Caudill and Charles Caudill (Patty), Ohio; along with a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
    She loved church, listening to and singing gospel music, and being with her family and friends. She was known for her smiles and hugs.

    David Allen West, Sr., age 62, of James West Way in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020, at the Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington following a short illness.
    He was born December 21, 1957 in Estill County and was the son of the late James and Ida B. Puckett West. He was a retired welder and a member of the Church of God.
    Mr. West is survived by his wife, Jo Etta Dawes West; one son, David Allen West, Jr. (Kimberly Renee Tipton), Estill County; one brother, Otis West, Estill County; and one grandchild, Bentley Marie West.
    He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mandy Delois Woolery and Elizabeth Ann Powell.

Ronald O. Miller, 70

    Ronald O. Miller, age 70, of New Lebanon, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020 following an extended illness.
    He was born on February 23, 1950, he was the son of the late Otis and Evelyn (Harrison) Miller. He retired after 35 years from the Delphi Division of General Motors. After retiring from Delphi he went back to work as a maintenance man for apartments in West Alexandria and New Lebanon. His family said “Ron never met anybody who wasn’t his friend.” He was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Loretta Miller.
    Ron is survived by his wife of 50 years, Debbie (Covington) Miller; children: Barbie Dooley (Tim) of West Manchester, Shawn Miller of New Lebanon, and Traci Deneski (Jeremiah) of New Lebanon; grandchildren: Madison Deneski, Nathan Miller; Chris, Corey and Cody Dooley; Dayna and Mark Cocca; great grandchildren: Calvin Grimes and Liara Boze; and Levi and Jack Cocca; sisters: Yolanda Hardy of West Alexandria, Ohio; and Connie Tobias and husband Jack of Eaton, Ohio; and longtime good friend, Gary Allen of Tennessee.
    Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 28, 2020 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center, West Alexandria, Ohio, with Pastor Wallace “Buddy” Barnett, Jr. officiating. Harry Edwin “Bud” Clevenger

    Harry Edwin “Bud” Clevenger, age 85, husband of Betty McCloud Clevenger, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at his home.
    He was born in McClure, Virginia, on June 1, 1935, to the late Galley and Myrtle Carter Clevenger and was one of five siblings. He served in the United States Army Field Artillery and was a medical courier for MD Billing Services.
    In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Harry, Jr. and Joy Clevenger of Lexington; two grandsons, Nicholas and Colin Clevenger; one sister, Patricia Kiser; and several extended family members and friends.
    He was especially proud of his grandsons and their accomplishments: Nicholas (17), who attends The Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science, Bowling Green, Kentucky; and Colin (15), who attends SCAPA Lafayette, Lexington.
    Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Winchester Cemetery.

    She was born June 21, 1991 in Mt. Sterling to Ralph and Sandy Crowe. She was of the Pentecostal faith and an employee of Hardee’s.
    Ms. Crowe is survived by her father, Ralph Crowe of Irvine; her mother, Sandy Coffey Crowe of Irvine; two sons: Trenton Neal of Irvine and Elijah Puckett of Richmond; her grandparents: Gertrude Stepp and Bruce Coffey; and two sisters: Kelly Embree (Jason) and Teresa Crowe, both of Irvine.
    She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Willie and Clara Crowe.

    Norma Jean Nunnelley, age 77, a resident of the Irvine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center passed away Monday, September 21, 2020, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky, following a long illness.
    She was born January 24, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Carlos McCormick, Sr. and Virginia Brown Abney. She was a homemaker and member of the Irvine First Church of God.
    Mrs. Nunnelley was preceded in death by her husband, Parker Nunnelley.
    She is survived by one daughter, Mary McIntosh, Irvine; four sons: John Nunnelley, Irvine; Mark Nunnelley, Stanton; Matthew Nunnelley (Geneva), and Steve Nunnelley, both of Irvine; one sister, Carol Barnes, Irvine; five brothers: Tim Abney; Ronnie Abney; Michael Abney; Robert Abney; and Johnny Abney, all of Irvine; four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by four siblings: Mona Watson, Carlos McCormick, Jr., Danny Abney and Jim Abney.

    He was born November 26, 1948 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, the son of the late James William and Lottie Norris Wyatt. He was a retired car salesman.

    Dorothy L. Richardson, age 93, of Miamisburg, Ohio, loving mother and grandmother, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Oak Creek Terrace in Kettering, Ohio.
    She was born in Irvine, Kentucky on January 1, 1927 to Mary and Charles Homer Flynn.
    Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Ansel Winkle and Wade Richardson; a daughter Brenda Winkle Fields; four sisters, Josephine, Martha, Flo and Eula; and six brothers, Fred, Bill, Orville, Hart, Ed and Gaylord.
    She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Devonne (Winkle) Denman of Centerville, Ohio; one son, Jeffrey W. Richardson of Indianapolis, Indiana; four grandchildren, Rodney S. Glass of Kettering, Ohio; Isabella J. Richardson of Indianapolis, Indiana; Christopher T. Fields of Lawrenceville, Georgia; and Yvette E. (Fields) Moy of Seattle, Washington; six great grandchildren: Brandon Glass; Desmond, Daylen and Trinity Fields; and Corrado and Ansel Moy; a sister, Retha of Orlando, Florida; and a host of nieces and nephews.
    Dorothy retired from Karolton Envelope (Kimberly Clark) and enjoyed her retirement years spending time with her family. She also enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was loved and cherished by all who knew her. She leaves a legacy of faith, generosity, compassion, laughter, kindness, honesty, and unconditional love. She will be sorely missed and forever remembered by her loved ones. We know she went home to be with the Lord and receive her eternal reward and we will see her again.
    A private service was held at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, 508 East Linden Avenue, Miamisburg, Ohio.
    In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer Association or the American Cancer Society.
