    Linda Conner, age 66, of Stanton, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
    She was born Wednesday, May 26, 1954 in Oneida, Tennessee, to the late Seay and Louise England Patrick.
    Ms. Conner's survivors include a daughter, Susan Conner; a brother David Patrick (Bernice); two sisters: Mary Abney (Wayne) and Carolyn Campbell; five grandchildren: Sierra Thomas, Angelica Hensley, Skyler Hensley, Dakota Sheffield, and Luke Herald; and several nephews & nieces.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Angela Darlene Conner and Amanda Gail Conner.
    Graveside service was at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the Wireman Cemetery at Furnace in Ravenna, Kentucky.

    Sally J. Cheeks, age 83, of Newby in Madison County, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Baptist Health-Richmond.
    She was born on October 13, 1937 at Barnes Mountain in Estill County, and was the daughter of Conley and Flora Horn Gray. She was a homemaker and also worked on the farm with her husband. Sally loved raising a garden, growing flowers, and fishing.
    In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Cheeks.
    Survivors include three daughters: Ruth Ann Combs (Paul), Amelia Stapp, and Flora Lynn Howard (Sam); three sons: Ricky Cheeks (Linda), Thomas Wayne Cheeks (Leah), and James Mark Cheeks (Beverly); one brother, Broaddus Gray; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
    Visitation will be from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, 1110 Barnes Mill Road in Richmond. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 14th at the funeral home with Bro. Scott Guiley officiating. Private family burial will be in the Combs Family Cemetery at Newby.
    Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.

Shonna Denal Brandenburg Rogers

    Shonna Denal Brandenburg Rogers, age 47, of Garrett Avenue in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021, at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
    She was born January 6, 1974 in Madison County and was the daughter of Rebecca Neal Staton and the late Jerry David Brandenburg. She attended the Turning Point Apostolic Church and had lived in Estill County most of her life.
    Survivors in addition to her mother include two daughters: Kiesha Reeder, Frankfort; and Shelby Adams, Madison County; two sons: Johnathan Barrett, Estill County; and Jacob Rogers, Frankfort; one sister, Tina Schureck, Estill County; and three grandchildren, Wendell, Olivia and Charlie Barrett.
    She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Pearline Neal; and her half-sister, Jamie Snowden.
    Memorial services are not scheduled at this time.

    Keeirrarha Kayianna “Roo” Hurley Smith, age 22, of Booneville, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021, at her home.
    She was born May 13, 1998 in Lexington and was the daughter of Diane Griffin Burton and the late Matthew Hurley. She was loved by many and will be missed. She was a very strong-willed woman and was taken way too soon. She had lived in Estill County most of her life.
    Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Andy Burt Smith; her mother, Diane Burton (Jackie Horn); her sister, Brittney Burton (Robert Baker); her niece and nephew, Lillianna and Roman Miranda; her grandparents, uncles and aunts
    She was preceded in death by her brother, Chris Burton.
    Graveside services were conducted Friday, January 8, 2:00 p.m., at the Burton-Hurley Cemetery.
    Pallbearers were Jackie Horn, Robert Baker, Tim Abney, Mark Forrester, Robert Mills, Bub Thompson and Cody Abney.

    Wendy Ann Harrison, age 55, of Eades Drive in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at her home.
    She was born August 24, 1965 in Canton, Ohio and was the daughter of Beverly Santimarino Fowler and the late John Maher. She was a homemaker and had lived in Estill County most of her life.
    Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, David Timothy Harrison; three sons: Bergin Tuttle IV (Sha-Vonna), Hurricane, West Virginia; Michael Scott Tuttle and David Todd Harrison, both of Irvine; one brother, John Fowler, Irvine; and two grandchildren: Micah La-Shaye Tuttle and Bergin Tuttle V.

    Margaret Jane Williams Camic, age 90, widow of Eugene Camic, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.
    Born May 24, 1930 in Estill County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Nellie Gross Williams. She was a secretary at Lexington Henry Clay High School for several years, and she was a member of the United Methodist Christ Church in Lexington.
    In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Geyna Lee Camic; two brothers, Jack Orville Williams (The fallen hero of the Battle of Normandy in World War II) and Roy Williams; and three sisters, Katherine Marie Wheat, Emma L Williams and Sherryl Chaney.
    Margaret is survived by three nephews, Joe Wheat (Susan), Jack Wheat (Candy), and Shawn Chaney (Lynn); and three nieces, Lisa Boyd (Larry), Sonya Smith (Wayde), and Mellisa Burkhart (Tim); and several nieces and nephews.
    Private graveside services will be held at Oakdale Cemetery on Saturday, January 9, 2021.

Wanda June Reece Prescott

    Wanda June Reece Prescott, daughter of the late Floyd and Cora Mae Tackett Reece was born in Lee County, Kentucky on June 16, 1933 and departed this life in Richmond, Kentucky on Monday, January 4, 2021 at the age of 87 years, 6 months and 19 days. She was a member of the Beattyville Baptist Church and a retired hair stylist.
    She leaves behind two daughters, Barbara Begley (John) of Beattyville, and Debbie Smyth (Larry) of Ravenna; eight grandchildren, Theresa Jones, Nicole Begley, Derek Begley, Shanna Kiner, Cretia Mainous, Chris Smyth, Neal Smyth, and Robert Smyth; eight great grandchildren; four great, great grandchildren; and three sisters, Elise Sparks of Richmond, Indiana; Claudetta Redmond, and Joyce Reece, both of Frankfort, Kentucky.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert Smith; two sisters, Letha and Wilma Newman; and one brother, Eugene Reece.
    A private family service will be held with burial in the Sparks Cemetery on Spencer Ridge Road.

    Amanda "Amy" Drake Peterman of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, departed this life Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the age of 47 years.
    She was a daughter of Debra Taulbee Kidd and the late Brion Drake born in Landsthul, Germany on September 2, 1973. She was an employee of the Beaumont Centre Kroger in Lexington, Kentucky and was a loving mother. She was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church in Lexington.
    Amy is survived by one son, Dillon A. Peterman of Georgetown; her mother, Debra Taulbee Kidd and step-father Eugene Kidd of Campton; one sister, Clarice Cable (Ken) of Rome, Georgia; two step-brothers, Ryan Kidd of Campton, and Mark Kidd (Becky) of Irvine; one step-sister, Debra Smith of Beattyville; four aunts, Betty Lee (Paul) of Waynesville, Ohio; Deloris Hiler (Russel) of Mt. Sterling, Mary Drake of Campton, and Rosetta Drake of Stanton; six uncles, Lanny Taulbee (special caregiver Troy Marusek) of Lexington, Bennie Drake (Faith) of Rogers, Robert Drake (Brenda) of Glen, Virginia; Roger Drake (Judy) of Missouri, Ed Drake of Stanton, and Scot Drake of Mt. Sterling, and one great-uncle, Gerald Drake of Salt Lick.
    She was preceded in death by her father, Brion K. Drake; paternal grandparents, Edith and Stanley Drake; and her maternal grandparents, Andrew and Clarice Childers Taulbee. She also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
    Visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Porter and Son Funeral Directors, 769 East Main Street, Campton; followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Evans Cemetery in Campton.

Charles Edward Kidd

    Charles Edward Kidd, of Glasgow, Kentucky, formerly of Beattyville, the son of the late Willis and Mary Johnson Kidd, was born in Brighton, Michigan on February 28, 1944 and departed this life in Glasgow, on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the age of 76 years, 10 months and 2 days. He attended the Widecreek Baptist Church.
    Mr. Kidd is survived by seven brothers and sisters, Glen Kidd of Lexington, Indiana; Irene Johnson of Beattyville, Eugene Kidd of Campton, Margie Long of London, Kentucky; Roger Kidd of Beattyville, Della Mae LaFoe of Harrodsburg, Annetta Blevins of Frenchburg, and Paul Duane Kidd of Irvine; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    In addition to his parents, Mr. Kidd was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Faye Howard.
    Memorial services were performed Wednesday, January 6, 2021 by Bro. Ricky Barker at the Rock of Ages Cemetery in Beattyville.

    Harold Gene Hunt, age 95, of White Oak Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021, at the Veterans Administration Health Care Hospital in Lexington, following a short illness.
    He was born March 6, 1925 in Estill County and was the son of the late John M. and Edith Wilson Hunt. He was a retired employee of the Bluegrass Ordinance and served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Williams Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher. He was a member of the Irvine Lodge 137 F&AM, the Scottish Rites of Free Masonry, a Kentucky Colonel and was the Mayor of Boogertown.
    Mayor Hunt is survived by his wife, Ruby Lily Harrison Hunt; his daughter, Terry Williams, Estill County; two grandchildren: Jeff Pearson (Sharon) and Cindy Garcia (Dr. Joe Ray); two step-grandchildren: Chris Williams and Leah Williams; four great grandchildren: Zaylah Pearson-Good, Juniper Pearson-Good, Caden Pearson and Lily Pearson; and two step-great grandchildren: Jason Williams and Kate Williams.
    He was preceded in death by his son, Harold David Hunt; his sister, Wilma Baber; and his brother, Edward Hunt.
    Visitation for the public was held Wednesday, January 6, 2021, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Private funeral services were held by Bro. Chris Winkler with burial at the West Irvine Cemetery.
    Pallbearers were Jeff Pearson, Caden Pearson, Juniper Pearson-Good, Gene Harrison, Kim Harrison and Chris Williams.

    He was born October 16, 1938 in Estill County and was the son of the late Andrew and Velda Plowman Brinegar. He was a retired employee of Kentucky Processing and a member of the South Irvine Holiness Church.
    Mr. Brinegar was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Frances Osborne Brinegar; and is survived by one daughter, Kathy Smith (Phillip), Estill County; five sons: Jerry Wayne Brinegar (Barbara), Ricky Joe Brinegar (Karen Ann), both of Clark County; Michael Lee Brinegar (Thelma), Roy Lynn Brinegar (Annette), and Jeffery Quienten Brinegar (Trish), all of Estill County; two sisters: Bertha Marville, Madison County; and Pam Brewer, Powell County; three brothers: Paul Brinegar, Estill County; Ollie Brinegar and Tom Brinegar, both of Clark County; ten grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by a sister, Lucy Fraley; and two brothers, Chester and Millard Brinegar.
    Visitation for the public will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2021, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Ravenna Church of God. Private funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 by Bro. Phillip Smith with burial at the Campbell Cemetery.

    Mary Elizabeth Martini, age 97, of Wallace Circle in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021, at her home following a short illness.
    She was born January 7, 1923 in Addyston, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lula Moore Brown. She was a house cleaner and a member of the Clover Nook Christian Church.
    Mrs. Martini was preceded in death by her husband, James Harry Martini; and is survived by one grandchild, Joe Taylor, Ohio; three great grandchildren: Erica Roberts, Matthew Taylor, and T.J. Taylor, all of Arkansas; four great, great grandchildren; her caregivers, Mary McIntosh and Jordyn McCormick; several nieces and nephews; and a special nephew, Justin McCormick.
    She was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Lee Taylor; her sister, Virginia Abney; two brothers, Thomas and Alfred Brown; two grandchildren, Jerry Wayne Taylor and Jimmy Taylor; and one great grandchild, Dawn Taylor.
    Burial will be at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio. There will be no services.

    She was born November 28, 1957 in Beattyville, a daughter to the late James Shackelford and Mable Thompson Shackelford. She was a bundler, working for Lion Apparel in Beattyville.
    Rose is survived by two sons: Johnny Ray Ashcraft Jr. of Beattyville, and Sean J. Davis of Irvine; three daughters: Angela Fox (Chris) of Beattyville, Michelle Napier of Mt. Sterling, and Jessica Ashcraft of Stanton; five grandchildren: LeeShana Brandenburg, Kaitlin Hall, Drew Hall, Austin Hogan, and Jayden Holliday; one great grandchild; Kinsley Davis; and many other loving family members, and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mable Shackelford; and her husband, Johnny Ray Ashcraft.

    She was born October 14, 1941 in Owingsville, Kentucky, to Bob and Abagail Purvis Corey. She was a member of the Winchester Community Church and was a housewife.
    Mrs. Martin is survived by her husband, Andrew Martin; three sons: Thomas Parks (Brenda) of Michigan, Nathan Parks (Teresa Puckett) of Irvine, and Henry Parks (Emily) of Winchester; three daughters: Connie Allen (Phillip) of Irvine, Patricia Borders (Rick) of Clay City; and Juanita Noble (Lee) of Winchester; seven grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild; two brothers: Harold Corey and Hargus Corey, both of Bath County; and two sisters: Bonnie and Margaret.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Frank Parks; a daughter, Beverly Daniels; and a grandson, Ricky Borders.
    Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the Winchester Community Church, 123 Franklin Avenue, Winchester, with Bro. Jackie Stamper and Bro. Cecil Burns officiating. Friends may visit at the Church, Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in the Clarmont Memorial Gardens in Winchester.

    Randall Lynn Johnson Sr., age 41, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.
    He was born June 9, 1979 in Irvine to Randy and Teresa Merrell Johnson. He was a mechanic.
    Mr. Johnson is survived by his parents, Randy and Teresa Johnson; two sons: Randall Johnson Jr. and Waylon Johnson; two daughters: Dedra Johnson and Kendall Johnson; a brother, Craig Johnson; and a sister, Sabrina Faye Lambert (Josh).
    He was preceded in death by a brother, Ryan Johnson.

    Bro. William “Bill” Ross 85 of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the Vanderbilt University Burn Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
    He was born December 30, 1935 in West Liberty, Kentucky, to Garnel Edison and Elsie Wilson Ross. He was an Evangelist who loved the Lord and spread the Gospel everywhere he went.
    Bro. Ross is survived by two sons: David Ross and Greg Ross (Susan); three daughters: Deborah Richardson, Sandra Richardson, and Sheila Isaacs; 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren; a brother, Edison Ross; and five sisters: Lucy Ross, Christine Ross, Deloris Ross, Mary Jane Ross and Brenda Ross.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Sue Shelton Ross; a daughter, Melinda Miles; a son, William Ross Jr.; a brother, Wilburn Ross; and two sisters: Karen Vest and Jean Horn.

James Allen “Jim” Cox

    James Allen “Jim” Cox, age 96, the widower of Edna Long Cox, passed away Thursday evening, December 31, 2020.
    He was born on October 20, 1924 in Estill County, Kentucky, the son of the late John and Emma Garrett Cox. Jim worked for the Honey Crust Bread Company and later the Rainbow Bread Company, a job that he did for over 40 years. Following that, he began another career that spanned a period of 25 years. He served as a Deputy Sheriff for Madison County Sheriff Cecil “Dude” Cochran. During that time he served as District Court Bailiff.
    After retirement Jim continued to stay busy. He loved being around people and could be seen often driving his 1959 Chevrolet through Richmond. He loved NASCAR and UK Basketball. Jim and his late wife Edna, were members of The Whitehall Baptist Church.
    Survivors include his two children: Joyce Chaney (Frank) and Glenn Cox (Emma); four grandchildren: Christopher Cox (Kelly), CynD VanWinkle (Shane), Teresa Haney (Robert) and Lisa Stafford (Mark); nine great grandchildren: Logan, Katelyn and Luke Cox; Cody and Tucker VanWinkle; James Reams, Renee Phillips (Stephen); and Tyler and Hallie Stafford; five great, great grandchildren; one sister, Carolyn Lincoln; as well as several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
    In addition to his wife and parents, Jim was preceded in death by six brothers: Russell Cox, Anderson Cox, Ralph Cox, Ed Cox, Tony Cox, and Garnett Cox; and five sisters, Katherine Agee, Margaret Dickerson, Brillian Cain, Hazel Foster, and Dora Henson.

    She was born June 30, 1951 in Irvine and was the daughter of the late Dennis and Helen Johnston Stacy. She was a former Carhartt, Inc. employee and retired from the Bluegrass Army Depot. She was a member of the Knob Lick Baptist Church and had lived in Estill County most of her life.
    Judy is survived by her daughter, Matricia Earl Striblin (Tim), Estill County; three sisters: Joan Murphy (Kenny), Janey Bishop (Cecil), and Jenny Collins (Mike), all of Estill County; one brother, Joe Stacy (Sue), Madison County; four grandchildren, Thomas, Kiri, Raymond and Billy; and one great grandchild, Malachi.
    She was preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa Paulette Estes; and two brothers, Jerry and Jack Stacy.

    Hobert Osborne, Jr., age 88, of Irvine, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Marcum and Wallace Memorial Hospital.
    Born February 3, 1932 in Estill County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Hobert Osborne and Lillie Johnson Osborne. Hobert was a retired cook of over 35 years with the University of Miami Ohio in Oxford, Ohio.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmo Osborne and David Osborne; and his sister, Julia Osborne.
    Hobert is survived by his wife, Shelby Jean Powell Osborne of Irvine; a daughter, Donna Osborne of Irvine, a granddaughter, Richolle Osborne; three brothers: Cecil Osborne of Hamilton, Ohio; Wilmer Osborne of Winchester; and Bobby Osborne of Irvine; and two sisters: Marie Osborne of Winchester, and Jean Alcorn (Robert) of London, Kentucky.
    Visitation was held on Monday, January 4, 2021 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton. A procession then departed the funeral home for a graveside service at Fielders Cemetery, in Irvine.
    Active pallbearers were Steve Jones, Michael Johnson, Aaron Faulkner, Steve Randall, Donald Miller and Bobby Dale Osborne.
    Honorary pallbearers were Chuck Powell, Michael Osborne, James Miller and Walter Powell.

Charles Franklin “Buster” Clevenger

    Charles Franklin “Buster” Clevenger, age 77, of Wisemantown Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at his home following a short illness.
    He was born December 16, 1943 in Floyd County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late John and Margaret Sellards Clevenger. He served in the United States Air Force and was a retired CSX Railroad employee. He was a member of the Irvine First Church of God and had lived in Estill County most of his life.
    Mr. Clevenger is survived by his son, Todd Clevenger (Margaret), Bowling Green, Kentucky; two sisters: Carolyn Bowman (J.B.), Lee County; and Charolette Jarrell, Floyd County; his nieces and nephews: Mark Robinson, Tony Clevenger, Greg Clevenger, Carol Ann Coffin and Carmen Blackburn; and his caretakers: Christina Clevenger and Chase Clevenger.
    He was preceded in death by his brother, John Fredrick Clevenger.
    Visitation for the public was held Sunday, January 3, 2021, from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home.

    Florine Arthur, age 81, of Sandhill Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at her home following a long illness.
    She was born April 16, 1939 in Powell County and was the daughter of the late Russell and Grace Lucas Gaylord. She was a tax preparer and served as treasurer for the Estill County Historical Society. She belonged to the Estill County Library Book Club and was a volunteer at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital.
    Mrs. Arthur was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Arthur, and is survived by two sons: Barry Arthur (Traci), Estill County; and Gary Arthur (Cheryl), Madison County; one brother, Ralph Gaylord (Judy), Powell County; seven grandchildren: Billy Berryman, Robbie Berryman, Dalton Arthur, Kaden Arthur, Jonathan Arthur, Elizabeth Cheeks and Jacob Arthur; and three great grandchildren: Trevor Berryman, Rebecca Cheeks and Makenna Cheeks.
    She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rita Abel; her son, Jeffery Frank Arthur; and her brother, Wayne Gaylord.
    Visitation was held Friday, January 1, 2021, from 6 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, January 2nd from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Irvine. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, January 2nd at 2:00 p.m. at the Church by Bro. Warren Rogers with burial at the Crowe Cemetery.
    Pallbearers were Billy Berryman, Robbie Berryman, Trevor Berryman, Dalton Arthur, Kaden Arthur, Jonathan Arthur and Jacob Arthur.

    She was born September 4, 1939 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Lemon and Callie Horn Estes. She was a homemaker and member of the Bethel Christian Church. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
    Mrs. Walters was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Walters; and is survived by one daughter, Sandy Moore, Irvine; two sons: Thomas Walters and Billy Walters, both of Irvine; three sisters: Lula Sewell, Emma Dennis, and Carrie Sewell, all of Irvine; two brothers: Bobby Estes, Winchester; and Paul Estes, Irvine; five grandchildren: David Moore (Cassie), Robbie Walters (Shelby), Dustin Moore, Michaela Cole (Jared), and Anna Walters; and five great grandchildren: Khalea Moore, Kruz Moore, Easton Cole, Marlee Cole and Jessup Walters.

    Phyllis Joyce Abshear Spivey, age 82, widow of Ray B. Spivey, passed away Monday, December 28, 2020 at her son’s home.
    She was born in Clark County on September 19, 1938 to the late Frank and Lillie Bush Abshear. She was a member of Epperson First Church of God.
    Mrs. Spivey is survived by three daughters, Connie Haggard (Larry), Sandy Pelfrey, and Tonya Estes (Frank); one son, Jerry Spivey (Regina); one adopted grandson, Tony Spivey (Summer); seven grandchildren, Garland Stanfield, Chastity Ford (Tom), Tommy Stanfield, Todd Spivey (Heather), LaRae Notchie (Joey), BreAnn Spivey, and Frankie Estes; three step grandchildren, David Pelfrey, Mike Pelfrey, and Lisa Craycraft; several great and great great grandchildren; one sister, Lula Mae Puckett; and one brother, John Abshear (Norma).
