Bobby Couch

    Bobby Couch of Irvine, Kentucky, departed this life Monday, February 8, 2021 at the age of 74 years.
    He was a son of the late Sam Couch and Marie Mullins Bailey, born in Hazard, Kentucky on April 17, 1946. He was a construction worker by trade.
    Mr. Couch is survived by his wife, Misty Campbell Couch of Irvine, Kentucky; two sons, Bobby G. Couch and Bradley Couch both of Jeffersonville, Indiana; one step-son, David Campbell of Irvine; two daughters, Teresa Bottoms (Gary Thompson) of Louisville, and Darlisa Shouse of Jeffersonville, Indiana; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one sister, Rosie Stratton of Sellersburg, Indiana.
    He also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
    He was preceded in death by parents, Sam Couch and Marie Mullins Bailey; and three brothers, Sam Couch, Homer Couch and James Couch.
    Visititation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at Porter and Son Funeral Directors, 769 East Main Street in Campton, followed by a Celebration of Life at 7:00 p.m.

Vickie Lane Watkins

    Vickie Lane Watkins, age 67, of Versailles, Kentucky, (formerly of Estill County), passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, following a short illness.
    She was born February 23, 1953 in Fleming County and was the daughter of the late Robert and Lorene Fearin Stanfield.
    Mrs. Watkins was a homemaker and is survived by her husband, Hubert Watkins; two daughters: Tonya Rena Hurt (Kenneth Black), Woodford County; and Lorene Mulder (Richard Gentry), Laurel County; one son, Robert Watkins (Crissy Pollitt), Fayette County; one sister, Wanda Stanfield, Madison County; one brother, Terry Stanfield, Montgomery County; a son-in-law, Calvin Beatty, Woodford County; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her daughter, Catherine Louise Beatty; and several brothers and sisters.
    Visitation for the public will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Private funeral services will be conducted by Bro. Ray Ammons with burial at the Watkins Cemetery.
    Pallbearers will be Robert Watkins, Kenneth Black, Calvin Beatty, Robert Watkins, Jr., Charles Davis and Kevin Riddell.
    Honorary pallbearers are Jaden Hurt and Jayce Black.

Audrey Abney Charles

    Audrey Abney Charles, age 95, of Winchester, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021 at her residence.
    She was born June 27, 1925 in Powell County to Millard and Myrtle Tuggle Abney. She was a housewife and attended Vaughn’s Mill Church of God and Mt. Zion Methodist Church.
    Mrs. Charles is survived by her husband of 69 years, Albert “Frenchie” Charles; a son, Carl Charles; a daughter, Donna Roe; two granddaughters that she raised, Melissa Holland and Amy Barnes; five great grandchildren; a brother, Bill Abney (Lois); and two sisters: Connie Haddix and Hazel Watkins.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Myrtle Tuggle Abney and several brothers and sisters.
    Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel in Clay City. Friends may visit Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in the Powell’s Valley Cemetery.
    Pallbearers are Brennan Barnes, Andrew Prewitt, Ernie Barnes, William Prewitt, Carl Charles and Joe Parker.
    Honorary pallbearers are Shirley Parido, Arnold and Maxine Vice, John Bradly and Shorty Howard.

    Shawna Estes, age 38, of Cynthiana, Kentucky, formerly of Irvine, passed away at her residence, Thursday, February 4, 2021.
    She was born August 12, 1982 in Irvine to Beverly and Amy Jenkins. She was a member of the First Church of God in Cynthiana.
    Shawna is survived by her mother, Amy Jenkins; a son, Dalton Comley; a daughter, Haley Estes; a brother, Michael Murphy; a sister, April Spivey; and two half-sisters: Michelle Jenkins and Rebecca Henry.
    She was preceded in death by her father, Beverly Jenkins; a daughter, Angel Estes; and two brothers, Timmy and Phillip Jenkins.
    Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 8, 2021 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Irvine with Bro. Buford Powell officiating. Friends may visit Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in the Campbell Cemetery in Irvine.
    Pallbearers are Albert Hall, Lee Hall, Franklin Hall, Chris Hall, Landon Coomer and Keaton Henry.

Ronald Charles Newlin

    Ronald Charles Newlin, age 76, of Peyton Avenue in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at his home.
    He was born May 6, 1944 in Lee County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Virgil Gross and Myrtle Pierson Newlin. He served in the United States Army and was a real estate broker and owner of Ron Newlin Realty. He attended the New Direction Spiritual Center and Hope Worship Center.
    Mr. Newlin is survived by his wife, Sherry Rice Newlin; two sons: Ronald C. Newlin, II, Irvine; and Dustin Wagers Newlin (Stephanie), Fort Worth, Texas; one brother, Danny Newlin, Nicholasville; two grandchildren: Joelle Hayden and Katelyn Jones; two nephews: Chris and Eric Newlin; and many extended family members and friends.
    Visitation for the public was held Sunday, February 7, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Private funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Harlen Gilbert with burial at the West Irvine Cemetery.
    Pallbearers were Sam Watson, Terry Barnes, Lyle Bobrowski, Eric Newlin, Chris Newlin, Timmy Joe Clowers and David Rhodes.
    Honorary pallbearers were Pastor David Adams, Richard Snowden and Sam Sparks.

Teresa Ann Amis

    Teresa Ann Amis, age 60, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital in Irvine, Kentucky.
    Born November 30, 1960, in Owsley County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Edd and Opal Gray Amis. She grew up in Booneville, Kentucky, and attended Owsley County High School.
    Along with her beloved companion, Joe Gross, she is survived by one daughter, Olivia Paige Gross; one son, Roger Michael Amis; and two sisters: Virginia Hensley (Rolfes), Crescent Springs, Kentucky; and Wanda Wilder, Booneville.
    She is predeceased by one brother, Eugene Amis, Booneville.
    She leaves behind two grandchildren, Hunter Michael Amis and Oaklyn Rayne Hurd; one niece, Kathy Miller; and one nephew, Eric Cooper.
    Teresa’s beautiful smile and loving spirit will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
    We would especially like to recognize the wonderful caregivers of the Irvine Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
    Visitation for the public was held Saturday, February 6, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Private funeral services were conducted by Bro. Buford Powell with burial at the West Irvine Cemetery.
    Pallbearers were T.J. Hurd, Chadd Moore, Richard Johnson, Zack Handshoe, Keith Hensley and Mark Hensley.

    Lewis D. Willis, age 55, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Monday, February 1, 2021 at his residence.
    He was born in Irvine, January 13, 1965 to Beverly and Bernice Townsend Willis. He was a mechanic.
    Mr. Willis is survived by his mother, Bernice Townsend Willis; two sons: Nicholas Willis and David Willis; three brothers: Beverly K. Willis, Earl Willis, and A. J. Willis; and a sister, Georgia Hardy (Rick).
    He was preceded in death by his father, Beverly Willis.
    Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Irvine with Bro. Jerry Rose officiating. Friends may visit Tuesday, February 2nd from 6 till 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hardy Cemetery in Irvine.

    Raymond Goosey, age 73, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021 at his residence.
    He was born August 12, 1947 to Elmer and Pearl Conner Goosey. He was a roofer.
    Mr. Goosey is survived by his wife, Linda Goosey; a son, Raymond Christopher Goosey; five daughters: Lina Puckett, Glenna Shean, Kathy Hull (Michael), Dani Goosey, and Kayla Crabtree (Chris); eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren; two brothers: Bill Goosey and Joe Goosey; and three sisters: Barbara Richardson, Brenda Logsdon and Geraldine Chaney (Steve).
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Pearl Conner Goosey.
    Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at the Grayson Funeral Home in Irvine with Bro. Jerry Rose officiating. Friends may visit Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in the West Irvine Cemetery.

Tommie Speagle

    Tommie Speagle, age 96, of Waco, Kentucky, passed away at Baptist Health on Saturday, January 30, 2021. Tommie was the widow John Speagle.
    Born September 9, 1924 in Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Alexander and Nettie Jones. Tommie was a quality control inspector at VCA for several years. She had a deep caring for others such as donating blood any time that she could. She sang praises in the church choir and lived her life accordingly. She was a member at the Rice Station Christian Church in Irvine.
    Mrs. Speagle is survived by two sons, Paul Edward Bridewell and William Harvey Bridewell, both of Waco, Kentucky; one step-son, JC Speagle of Louisville; one daughter, Beverley Morefield of Waco, Kentucky; one step-daughter, Sandy Curl of Louisville; one sister, Nettie Omega Phelps of California; six grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
    In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Newel Bridewell; and several brothers and sisters.
    Funeral services officiated by Brother Joe Hall and Ed Berry will be conducted on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Rice Station Christian Church. Visitation will be held on Wednesday as well from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in New Castle Cemetery in New Castle, Kentucky with Mike Brumfield, Clinton Bridewell, Nathaniel Toeller, Ethan Toeller, Vic Morefield and Russ Toeller serving as active pallbearers.

    Eddie L. Brandenburg, age 65, of Brodhead, Kentucky, husband of Patricia Brandenburg, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.
    He was born November 17, 1955 in Estill County to Arlie and Fannie Crowe Brandenburg. He was a retired house painter and artist.
    Mr. Brandenburg is survived by his wife, Patricia Brandenburg; his mother, Fannie Crowe Brandenburg; four sons: Kelly Shawn Brandenburg (Sebrina), William Charlton (Debbie), Anthony Charlton, and Doug Brandenburg (Jessica); two daughters: Tonya Charlton and Rebecca Rogers (Jackie); 18 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; and two brothers, Anthony Brandenburg and Kevin Brandenburg.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Arlie Brandenburg; a brother, Dale Brandenburg; and three grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon, Sunday, January 31, 2021 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Irvine with Bro. Doyle Keaton officiating. Friends may visit Saturday, January 30th from 5 till 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the McIntosh Cemetery in Irvine. His children will serve as pallbearers.

Bobby Wayne Horn

    Bobby Wayne Horn, a resident of Monroe Township, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at the age of 70.
    He was the husband of 48 years to Belinda Cyrus Horn, father of Andrea Senters (Billy) and Chasity Deavers (Joseph), grandfather of Alex, Elleah, Tyler, Kyle, Cole, Carly, and Callee, brother of Wilgus Horn Jr., Rhonda Gould, Fay Bloyd, Jackie Horn, and the late Janet Parrett, and son of Mattie Stamper Horn and the late Wilgus Horn Sr.
    Bobby was a veteran of the United States Navy and a devoted member of the Boilermakers Union Local 105. He had a love for NASCAR and John Deere Equipment.
    Services for Bobby will be held graveside at Tate Township Cemetery, on Friday January 29, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. Tate Township Cemetery is located on South East Street in Bethel, Ohio. Coming from 275, you will turn right off of St. Rt. 125 (Plane Street) onto East Street. Cemetery is approximately 1/4 mile down on the left.

    Zula Walling Brock, age 68, of Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 11:40 a.m. at St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington, following a short illness.
    She was born February 4, 1952, in Lee County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Jeff Walling and Nettie Stacey Bowles of Beattyville.
    Survivors include one daughter, Kelly Jones (Leon); and two grandsons, Charles Leon Todd Jones and Noah Brady Jones.
    She was preceded in death by one son, Charles Bradley Crowe; a daughter-in-law, Clarissa Harrison; four brothers: Elmer Bowles, Bobby Joe Slone, Michael Dean Burgen and James Shouse; and a sister, Aida Begley.
    Zula is survived by one sister, Margaret Lemaster, and one brother, Donald Walling, both of Irvine.
    She is also survived by two granddaughters: Brooklyn Dakota Crowe and Charlee Elizabeth Crowe; and several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
    Zula was the rock of our family in so many ways; the fun, yet serious, part of all our upbringing. She enjoyed pictures of her children and grandkids, (placed) throughout her house. Absolutely no limit to extent of love she had to give. Certainly miss all she was for many.
    Visitation begins Friday, January 22, 2021 at 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the Lewis-Abner Funeral Home. Funeral services officiated by Tony Marshall will be held Saturday January 23, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in South Irvine Cemetery.
