Catherine Jones, age 89, of Bertha Court in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021, at home following a long illness.
She was born September 6, 1931 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late William Achilles and Katie Frances Flannery Kelley. She was a retired employee of North American Phillips and a member of the Easter Valley Baptist Church.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Jones.
She is survived by three sisters: Cleta Cox, Indiana; Ella Arvin, Irvine; and Margaret Grandstaff, Richmond; and one brother: G. B. Kelley, Irvine.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her children, Yvonne Jones and David Jones; and nine siblings, Ireen Noon, Treva Margison, Nannie Florence, Janet Marshall, Clara Kelley, Claudia Kelley, Russell Kelley, Raymond Kelley and Billy Kelley.
Visitation for the public will be held Monday, March 15, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Private funeral services will be held with burial at the Madison Memorial Gardens.

Robert Lee Flynn, age 58, beloved husband of Jeana Tuggle Flynn, lost his hard-fought battle with cancer on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. He was a former employee of Hitachi Automotives, an avid hunter and a wonderful family man.
Mr. Flynn was preceded in death by his biological parents, Banty and Eula Flynn; and three sisters, Charlotte Butler, Isabell Watkins and Connie Flynn.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Robert Michael Flynn (Laura), Katrina Patrick (Jamey), and Ashley Flynn; his foster parents, Robert and Nevedda Canter; five brothers: Lillard, Leslie and James Flynn; and Robbie and Richie Canter; a very special aunt and uncle, Margie and David Canter; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation for the public was held Friday, March 12, 2021, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Private funeral services were conducted by Bro. Ricky Isaacs and Bro. William Durbin with burial at the Tuggle Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mike Stepp, Donnie Lambert, Chad Canter, Matt Canter, Shawn Canter, David Canter, Geof Canter and Charlie Canter.
Honorary pallbearers were his brothers.

Mary Etta Neal Shannon, age 64, of Red Bud Court in Paris, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at the Coopers Trace Nursing Home, following a short illness.
She was born December 7, 1956 in Madison County and was the daughter of the late Mid and Pearline Neal. She was a homemaker and had lived in Paris most of her life.
She is survived by two sons: Jason Wells (Erica) and Bradley Shannon, both of Paris; one granddaughter, Grace Wells; one sister, Rebecca Staton (Paul) Estill County; and four brothers: Hubert Reece (Judy), Tennessee; Larry Neal, Florida; Kenny Neal (Donna), Powell County; and Darrell Neal, Florida.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Neal.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Roy Mills, age 97, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Sayre Christian Village in Lexington, Kentucky.
He was born in Barbourville, Kentucky, on January 24, 1924, to the late Ben and Martha Jones Mills, also of Barbourville. He was a retired independent contractor as well as a foreman for Melco Construction Company.
Survivors include two granddaughters, Susann Curtis Hardin (Doug) and Tammy Curtis Marsh (Rick), both of Georgetown; a grandson, Harold G. Jones II (Stephanie) of Winchester; and six great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Marsh, Lauren Jones, Kyle Keefe, Nathan Keefe, Paxten Shell, and Taytum Hardin.
He was preceded in death by spouses, Mary Patrick Mills and Carrie Mills; two daughters, Virgie Curtis and Wanda White, and a grandson, Ronnie W. Jones.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Winchester Cemetery White Shelter by Pastor Allan Hutchinson.

Henrietta Abney Cain, 88, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, Kentucky. She was the widow of Troy Cain.
She was born on May 24, 1932 in Madison County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of Cecil and Ella Tackett Abney, both of whom preceded her in death. Mrs. Cain was retired from Brown and Williams Tobacco Company and was of the Holiness faith. She enjoyed crocheting, bingo, doing puzzles, and coloring. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, James Harold Cain, William “Bill” Cain, and Edgar Reed Cain; three brothers, James Abney, Cecil Abney Jr., and Roscoe Abney; and four sisters, Ellen Bowen, Effie Mason, Margaret Rose, and Judy Morgan.
Survivors include: three sons, Earnest Lee Cain (Deanie), Danny Glenn Cain (Debbie), both of Richmond, and Donald Wayne Cain (Paula) of Nicholasville; four daughters, Frances Ann Hall (Voyd Rose) of Richmond, Nerva Jean Powell (Ronnie) of Irvine, Dora Mae Thomas (Randy) and Mary Betty Kirby (Phillip), both of Richmond; one daughter-in-law, Pat Cain; one brother, Wayne Abney (Louise); three sisters, Lottie Stocker (Carlton), Elizabeth Adams (Delbert), and Aleen Keesley (Jo); several grandchildren; many great grandchildren; great, great, grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Bowen officiating. Burial will follow at Flatwoods Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Troy Lee Cain, Howard Farthing Jr., John Powell, Earl Powell, Jason Parker, Josh Cain, James Rose, Michael Cain, Branden Cain, Billy Cain, and Josh Kirby. Billy Riddell will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

Frances Elizabeth Johnson Day, age 74, of Grindstone Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away from cancer on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at her home.
She was born September 17, 1946 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Virginia Grace Willis Johnson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Rice Station Christian Church. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
Mrs. Day was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Day.
She is survived by her daughter, Opal Elizabeth “Beth” Day Spradlin (Stanley), Estill County; two sisters: Carolyn Gray and
Nellie Farthing, both of Estill County; one grandchild, Logan Spradlin, Louisville; and six nieces.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel Johnson and Ray Johnson; and an infant sister and brother.
Visitation for the public was held Monday, March 8, 2021, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Private funeral services were conducted by Bro. Joe Hall with burial at the West Irvine Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Stanley Spradlin, Logan Spradlin, Paul Bridewell, Matthew Hall, April Shuler and Daniel Shuler.

James Michael Chapman, age 68, of Nancy, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.
Born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Almus Chapman and the late Ella Jean Smith Chapman and a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Jamie Chapman; a brother, Damon Ray Chapman; and a sister, Paula Combs.
Mr. Chapman is survived by four sons: Lloyd Chapman (Whitney Ann) of Nancy, Michael Latham (Kacie) of Science Hill, Brian Chapman of Owingsville, and Kevin Butler (Tracie) of Somerset; one daughter, Crystal Chapman of Somerset; one brother, Almus Clinton "A. C." Chapman of Irvine; one sister, Vada Barnes of Irvine; and eight grandchildren: Emily Jean Shrout, Harley Shrout, Skyler Garcia, Javier Garcia, Michael Latham, Jr., Olivia Latham, Victoria Strong and Samantha Strong.
Funeral services officiated by Bro. Ben Liston will be conducted at 5:00 p.m., Friday, March 5, 2021 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton. Visitation is 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
Burial with military honors will be in Donnie G. Randall Memorial Veterans Cemetery with Jamie Young, Lloyd Chapman, Michael Latham, Brian Chapman and Kevin Butler serving as pallbearers.

John Edward Arvin, age 50, of Kirkland Avenue in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021.
He was born May 23, 1970 in Estill County and was the son of the late Dwight and Diane Smithers Arvin. He worked as a farmer and at Arvin’s Meat Processing. He had lived in Estill County all his life.
Mr. Arvin is survived by two sisters: Jackie Thacker and Kyle McIntosh (Randy), both of Estill County; one brother, Buddy Arvin (Charlotte), Estill County; five nieces: Meghan Mills (Jimmy), Tessla Dixon (Clinton), Lyda Rae Fauste (Charlie), Pauline Thacker and Kate Thacker; three nephews: JP Thacker, Elijah McIntosh and Kyran McIntosh; two great nieces: Heidi Dixon and Caroline Dixon; and three great nephews: Jace Mills, Rocky Mills and Beau Dixon.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Dale Arvin; and a nephew, Aaron Arvin.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.

Ruth Evelyn Blanton Rison, age 65, of Eades Drive in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021, at her home, following a short illness.
She was born March 6, 1955 in Clark County and was the daughter of the late Noah and Bertha Oliver Blanton. She was a long-time health care worker and a member of the Irvine First Church of God on Broadway. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Christy May Moore (Tim), Lee County; two grandsons: Adam Blanton (Alicia) and
Steven Coffey; two great grandchildren, Mason and Myla Blanton; two brothers: Walsa Blanton (Gladys) and Benny Blanton, both of Estill County; and six sisters: Blanche Lawson, Ohio; Mabel Winkler, Estill County; Betty Erkenbrecher, Ohio; Gladys Osborne, Clark County; Frances Riddell (John), Ohio; and Clara Christensen (Bruce), Scott County.
She was preceded in death by her great grandson, Avery Matthew Blanton; and three sisters, Mary Lawson, Annie Banks and Gertrude Blanton.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 4, 2021, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Pine Grove Pentecostal Church. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 5th at 11:00 a.m. at the Church by Bro. Eric Patrick and Bro. Sidney Sparks. Burial will be at the Hall Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Adam Blanton, Steven Coffey, Eric Banks, Walsa Blanton, John Riddell and Edward Erkenbrecher.
Honorary pallbearers are Jon Covey and Kevin Winkler.

Gerald Hoskins, age 83, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Irvine Nursing and Rehab.
He was born April 14, 1937 in Manchester, Kentucky. He was a retired Crane Operator.
Mr. Hoskins is survived by three sons: Jacob Hoskins, Timothy Hoskins and Daniel Hoskins, all of Irvine; and a daughter, Nora Bowles (Christopher) of Jeffersonville.
No services are planned at this time.
