Tommy Larrison

    Tommy Larrison, husband of Lora Faye Spencer Larrison and the son of the late Farris and Marie Thompson Hayes was born in Lee County, Kentucky, April 23, 1950 and departed this life in Hazard, Kentucky on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at the age of 70 years, 11 months, and 29 days.
    He was a former foreman and factory worker for Leggett & Platt, a member of the Heidelberg Pentecostal Church of God, as well as a member of several biker clubs: Hell’s Angels, Southern Brothers, Rolling Thunder, and Eastern Kentucky Ridge Riders. He was also a musician and an avid pool player.
    In addition to his wife, Lora of Beattyville, Tommy is survived by one daughter, Ann Rose, also of Beattyville; three sons, Austin Spencer (Mayleesa) of Irvine; Charles Reed and Carl Reed Jr., both of Ashtabula, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Jazmyne and Serenity Rose of Beattyville; Arianna, Caitlyn, Chelsea, and Austin Reed of Ashtabula, Ohio; and Jackson and Bentley Spencer of Irvine; an expected granddaughter, Maylee Spencer; a son-in-law, Danny Rose, Jr. of Beattyville; his mother-in-law, Ruth Spencer of Beattyville; and a host of other relatives and friends.
    In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by one son, Matthew Larrison; and one granddaughter, Ashlynn Reed.
    Private funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. by Rev. Chuck Calvert at Smyth Cemetery (Big Andy), Fincastle Road, Beattyville. Burial will follow.

Elmer George Lane

    Elmer George Lane, age 89, of Irvine Road in Winchester, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital following a short illness.
    He was born June 25, 1931 in Powell County and was the son of the late Mitchell Crittendon Lane and Minnie Bellamy Lane. He was a retired construction worker and member of the Carpenter’s Union. He was also a Kentucky Colonel and had lived in Estill County most of his life.
    Mr. Lane was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Gould Lane, and is survived by two daughters: Wanda Sue Barnett (Bud), Estill County; and Donna Jean Estes (Ricky), Clark County; two sons: Larry Dale Lane and Tommy Glenn Lane (Bernita), both of Estill County; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.
    Visitation for the public will be held Wednesday, April 28, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Private funeral services will be conducted with burial at the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
    Pallbearers will be his grandsons and great grandsons.

Sylvia Joan Riddell

    Sylvia Joan Riddell, age 74, of Bertha Wallace Drive in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, April 23, 2021, at the Irvine Nursing & Rehabilitation Center following a long illness.
    She was born July 24, 1946 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late William Price and Victoria Horn Riddell. She was a retired Nextel employee, a Kentucky Colonel and attended the Church of God.
    Sylvia Joan is survived by her son, Barry Joseph Riddell (Renee), Herndon, Virginia; one brother, Sidney Jackson Riddell, Irvine; and two grandchildren, Luke and Harper Riddell.
    She was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy O. and Richard Wayne Riddell.
    Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Debra Ann Johnson

    Debra Ann Johnson, age 80, of Nolan Road in Stanton, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021, at her home following a long illness.
    She was born July 8, 1940 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Floyd and Mabel Watson Rogers. She was a homemaker and attended the Cobb Hill Church of Christ. She had lived in Estill County most of her life.
    Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, James Avery Johnson.
    She is survived by two daughters: Tammy Sue Congleton - Powell County; and Marilyn Kay Johnson, Estill County; one son, Michael Scott Johnson, Estill County; one brother, John “Sonny” Rogers, Estill County; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
    Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by five siblings, Margie Schaffer, Betty Jean Jones, Sherry McIntosh, Jerald Arthur; and her twin, Wayne Rogers.
    Graveside services will be conducted Monday, April 26, 2021, 12 Noon, at the Mountain Springs Cemetery by Bro. Kenny Wasson.
    Pallbearers are Zachary Schoolar, Joshua Congleton, Michael Johnson, Doug Rogers, Greg Johnson and Bobby Johnson.
    Honorary pallbearers are Stephanie Townsend, Seth Schoolar, Chris Moore and her nieces and nephews.

Buell Howard Stamper

    Buell Howard Stamper, age 92, of South Lebanon, Ohio, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021 at his home under the care of Compassus Hospice.
    He was born at Millers Creek in Irvine, Kentucky on December 16, 1928 to Leonard and Fannie Johnson Stamper. He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked for Edgecomb Metals, where he retired after 30 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman. Hunting, fishing, trapping and gardening were his life.
    Mr. Stamper was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Leona and Cassie; and two brothers, Dowd and Eldon.
    He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy Sparks Stamper; three daughters: Nancy Helen Bee of Lebanon, Ohio; Jennifer Colwell (Tim) of Morrow, Ohio; and Sherry Center (Jason) of South Lebanon, Ohio; five grandchildren, Sarah, Adam, Lauren, Audrey, and Jared; ten great grandchildren, Lyla, Greyson, Madison, Vivienne, Evelyn, Brynna, Chase, Haylee, Chloe, and Mia, plus one on the way; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
    The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 12:00 Noon, all at the First Baptist Church of South Lebanon, with Pastor Dave Frasure officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Deerfield Cemetery in South Lebanon, Ohio.

    Willard J. Baker, 94, the husband of Margie Ann Gentry Baker, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at his home.
    Willard was born on January 16, 1927 in Madison County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late George W. and China Rose Baker. He was a retired employee of Westinghouse as well as a retired farmer. Willard was a United States Army veteran and was a member of Viney Fork Baptist Church.
    Survivors include his wife of over 69 years, Margie; four sons: Wendell Dean Baker (Linda Sue), David Ashley Baker (Janet), Willard Brent Baker (Angela) and Eric Lyn Baker (Karen); nine grandchildren: Marlena Baker, Jason Baker, Ashton Isaacs (Aaron), Tonya Baker, Megan Baker, Allen Baker, Gentry Baker, Ethan Baker and Riley Baker; two great grandchildren, Hayden and Hayley Isaacs; one brother, Ellis Eugene Baker (Faye); one sister, Naomi Brandenburg; and several nieces and nephews.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Lester Baker, Nelson Baker and Arlus Baker; and three sisters: Beulah Moberly, Nora Johnson and Nancy Bradley.
    Funeral Services were conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 23, 2021 at the Combs, Parsons and Collins Funeral Home, 328 West Main Street, Richmond, with Rev. Jason Eades and Rev. Ralph Shepperson officiating. Burial followed in the Gentry Family Cemetery. Visitation began at 11:00 a.m., Friday morning at the funeral home.
    Family members served as pallbearers.

    Brandon Tommy Ellis Woolery, age 38, of Lee Acres Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021.
    He was born May 1, 1982, in Madison County, the son of William Ellis Woolery and the late Earlene Gross Woolery. He was a former Pieratt’s employee and had lived in Estill County all his life. He was of the Baptist faith.
    Mr. Woolery is survived by his parents, William Ellis and Linda Woolery; a sister, Billie Melissa Foster (Billy), Madison County; and three nieces and nephews: Jamie Catelyn Sparks, Skye Meadow Foster, and Gabriel Ray Foster.
    Visitation for the public was held Friday, April 23, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church Home. Private funeral services will be conducted by Bro. Lloyd Woolery with burial in the Alexander Cemetery.
    Pallbearers were Sam Woolery, Jason Woolery, Joe Woolery, Tommy Gross, Howard Gross, and Chris Davidson.

Hubert Earlie Watkins

    Hubert Earlie Watkins, age 74, of Sable Avenue in Versailles, Kentucky, passed away Monday, April 19, 2021, at the Bluegrass Hospice Care Center following a short illness.
    He was born November 18, 1946 in Estill County and was the son of the late Chestel and Mary Hensley Watkins. He was a retired horse groomer and had lived in Estill County most of his life.
    Mr. Watkins was preceded in death by his wife, Vickie Stanfield Watkins.
    He is survived by two daughters: Lorene Mulder (Rick Gentry), Corbin; and Tonya Hurt (Kenneth Black), Versailles; one son, Robert Watkins (Crissy Pollitt), Fayette County; a son-in-law, Calvin Beatty, Versailles; two sisters: Ines Lindsey, Tennessee; and Sadie Watkins, Richmond; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his daughter, Catherine Beatty; and three siblings, Stella Watkins, Jean Jones and Daniel Damer Watkins.
    Visitation for the public was held Thursday, April 22, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Private funeral services were conducted by Bro. Ray Ammons with burial at the Watkins Cemetery.

    Tina Marie Marcum Neal, age 46, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021.
    She was born in Winchester, Kentucky, on February 16, 1975, to the late Onley Earl and Alweena Ratliff Marcum.
    Survivors include siblings, Eddie Marcum, Phyllis Jean Marcum, Patricia Guth, Helen Perkins, David Marcum, Roger Marcum, Donna Clasen, Loretta Marcum, Chris Marcum, and Johnny Marcum.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Steve, Lisa, Tonya, and Rachel Marcum.
    Memorial services will be from 3:00-5:00 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2021 at Eastside Baptist Church, 148 East Broadway, Winchester, Kentucky 40391 by Pastor Joe Price.

    Etta Jennel Tipton, age 53, of South Irvine Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021.
    She was born November 3, 1967 in Madison County and was the daughter of the late Jerry “Stack” and Phyllis Abshear Tipton. She was a homemaker and had lived in Estill County most of her life.
    Etta Jennel is survived by her step-mother, Linda Isaacs, Irvine; three daughters: Theresa Parsons (Nick), Mt. Vernon; Jeri Sneed, and Brandy Crim (Brian), both of Estill County; two sisters, Debra Dunaway, Clay City; and Jasmine Tipton, Irvine; one brother, Jerry Sparks, Florida; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by one brother, Brian Keith Tipton; and one grandchild, James Sneed.

    Tommie DeWayne Conrad, age 36, of Eli Sparks Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, following a long illness.
    He was born June 9, 1984 in Madison County and was the son of Gary DeWayne and Leasa Chrisman Conrad. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Library Science Management from the University of Kentucky and was a published author and former employee of the University of Kentucky Medical Library. He was of the Christian faith and had lived in Estill County all his life.
    Survivors, in addition to his father and mother, include his grandfather, Charles Chrisman, Estill County; special grandparents, Van and Sharon Johnson, Tennessee; aunts and uncles: Nathan & Shelia McIntosh; Verlin, Jenny Conrad; Orvin & Judy Conrad, Calvin Conrad, Mickie Conrad and Elaine Angel; cousins: Jolene & Ricky Fox, Sonya Sutton, Showna Angel, Jody Conrad, Michele Riddell, Traci Conrad, Melessa Fields, Autumn Fox, Jalia McIntosh, Bonnie Spottek and Tina Turner; special aunt & uncle, Johnny & Susan Johnson; and several other cousins.
    Visitation for the public will be held Friday, April 16, 2021, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Private funeral services will be conducted by Bro. Randall Calico with burial at the Conrad Cemetery.

    Opal Gavin, age 79, of Ravenna, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2021 at her residence.
    She was born March 2, 1942 in Big Rock, Virginia to Harless "Harv" and Eva Lester Dotson. She was a homemaker.
    Mrs. Gavin is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Teresa Lietzke (Milton) of Bristol, Tennessee; eleven grandchildren, and a special nephew and niece, Randy and Mary Arthur.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rev. George Gavin; a daughter, Elizabeth Johnson; two brothers: Roy Dotson and Hassell Dotson; and a sister, Christine Bullock.
    She will be missed by her many friends and family.
    No services are planned at this time.

    She was born December 12, 1982 in Wayne, Michigan.
    Angelina owned and operated Mom's Cleaning Service.
    She is survived by her mother, Annette Marie Raad; a daughter, Arealynne Brooks; four sons: Shane, Kalib, and Ethon Haskins, and Arthur Haskins III; and a brother, Charles Raad.
    Visitation will be held Sunday, April 18, 2021, from 2-5 p.m. at Rolan G.Taylor Funeral Home, 289 South Main Street in Winchester. There will be no memorial service.

    Sylvia Ann Mullins, age 69, of Bertha Wallace Drive in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at the Baptist Health Lexington Hospital.
    She was born December 30, 1951 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Alphus Rogers and Eldena Hall Martin. She was a retired Carhartt, Inc. employee and was a member of the New Vision Full Gospel Church. She had lived in Estill County most of her life.
    Mrs. Mullins is survived by her husband, Elmer Dale Mullins; two daughters: Veronica Lay (Ronald) and Cassie Roberts (Steven), both of Irvine; three stepchildren: Melinda Crawford (Bill), Tommy Mullins (Robin), both of Northern Kentucky; and Darrin Mullins - Clay City; three sisters: Geneva Townsend, Beattyville; Imogene Shepherd, Northern Kentucky; and Judy Lovely, Mt. Sterling; two brothers: Gerald Rogers, Clay City; and Lonnie Rogers, Mt. Sterling; three grandchildren: Nicholas Lay, Jacob Roberts and Nathan Lay; three step-grandchildren: Tommy Dale Mullins, Nicole Hudson and Jeremy Crawford; four honorary children: Julie Estes Vires, Rebecca Turner, Betsy Moreland and Mike Estes; seven honorary grandchildren: Lilyann “Gracie” Estes, Ethan Estes, Isaiah Estes, Blake Turner, Austin Lay, Austin McIntosh and Cameron Combs; and many nieces and nephews.
    A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
    In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the building fund at the New Vision Full Gospel Church, 300 5th Street, Ravenna, KY 40472.

    Burchnel Rose Jr., age 54, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville.
    He was born in McKee January 16, 1967 to Burchnel Sr. and Bessie McKinney Rose. He was a member of the Full Gospel Evangelistic Ministries Church.
    Mr. Rose is survived by his father, Burchnel Rose Sr. of McKee; his wife, Debbie Logsdon Rose of Irvine; two sons: Snowden Rose (Morgan) and Travis Rose (Trisha), both of Irvine; a daughter, Tina Rose of Corbin; nine grandchildren, two brothers: L. D. Harrison of Irvine, and C. V. Rose of McKee; and three sisters: Jean Licklighter of Lawrenceburg, Judy Rose of Richmond, and Linda Crabtree of McKee.
    He was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie McKinney Rose.
    Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the Full Gospel Evangelistic Ministries Church, 1972 Winchester Road in Irvine with Bro. Orval Hisle officiating. Friends may visit Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. 'till time of the service. Burial will be in the Logsdon Cemetery.

Linda Beth Crowe Meers

    Linda Beth Crowe Meers, 89, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at The Willows at Fritz Farm in Lexington, Kentucky.
    She was born in Estill County, on December 7, 1931, to the late Claude "Buddy" And Lena Clem Crowe.
    After moving with her family to their farm in Trapp, Linda excelled in school and became the senior class treasurer of Clark County High School. She moved to Winchester immediately after graduation to begin what became her 54-year long career of administrative work, bookkeeping and office management, 25 of which she worked at Pearce Phelps Roofing. She was known for being a diligent worker, avid volunteer, generous cook, enthusiastic Nana, and a wicked croquet opponent. She was a lifelong member of Dunaway Methodist Church.
    The widow of Stanley Meers, Jr., Linda is survived by her children, Debra Harris (Mark) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Stanley Meers III (Donna) of Lexington; three grandchildren, Seth, Allyson, and Abigail; and a great granddaughter, Chloe; a brother, Alva (Jack) Crowe, two sisters, Odean McKenzie and Mary Evelyn Morguson; and lots of much-loved nieces and nephews.
    In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Crowe, Woodrow Crowe, Harvie "Marvie" Crowe, L. C. Crowe, and Shelby Crowe; and sisters, Alta Elkin, Ora Palmer, and Emma Spry.
    Though Linda moved away from Winchester well over 60 years ago, she frequently returned to Clark County, often with a car full of casseroles, ham biscuits and butterscotch pies, and remained very close to her beloved family and lifelong friends. She has returned home one more time to Clark County and will be buried beside her husband in The Winchester Cemetery.
    Visitation will be from 1:00-1:45 p.m., Friday, April 16, 2021 at Scobee Funeral Home, 219 West Lexington Avenue. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 16, 2021 at Winchester Cemetery White Shelter.
    In honor of nurses, first responders, and essential personnel, Linda's family kindly requests masks be worn during visitation. Also, please consider donating to Shriners Hospitals for Children or the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers. The family appreciates all the love and support Linda's many relatives and dear friends generously gave to her throughout her well-lived life.
