Gary Ray Shelton, age 50, husband of Cindy Shelton, passed away Friday, September 17, 2021 at Bourbon Community Hospital, Paris, Kentucky.
He was born May 12, 1971 in Irvine, Kentucky to Cecil Shelton and Judy Farthing Spicer. He was a member of Church on the Rock and a supervisor at Kendall.
Survivors include his father, Cecil Shelton; his mother, Judy Spicer; his wife, Cindy Shelton; a son, Justin "Knothead" Shelton (Alissa); two daughters, Nicky Rowe (Matthew) and Lillian "Pudden" Shelton (Keely); a step-son, Ethan Sword; two step-daughters, Erika Davis and Sierra Perez; two brothers, Ernie Shelton and Brandon Shelton; and eight grandchildren, Kaylynn Rowe, Allison Rowe, Kristyn Rowe, Adalynn Rowe, Easton Flinchum, Jace Perez, Alivia Ball, and Elliott Felter.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Sammy Shelton.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 20, 2021, 1:00 p.m., at Davis & Davis Funeral Home, 777 West College Avenue, Stanton by Diane Harrison and Amy Gullet. Visitation will be Sunday, September 19th, 7-9 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Shelton Family Cemetery with Justin Shelton, Lillian Shelton, Brandon Shelton, Davis Allen, Ethan Sward, and Matthew Rowe.
Honorary pallbearers serving are James Rowe, Raymond Goodwin, and Cindy Goodwin.

Joanne Tiller Elliott, age 87, of Southaven, Mississippi passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at the Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis, Tennessee, following an extended illness.
She was born November 18, 1933 in Berwind, West Virginia, and was the daughter of the late Sherman Grant Tiller and Annie Thurman Davidson Tiller. She had worked as a secretary for the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.
Joanne is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Elliott Horowitz (Robert), Southaven, Mississippi; one sister, Elizabeth C. Gibbs, Lynchburg, Virginia; five grandchildren: Olivia Purifoy (Jake), Abby Tubman, Katie Bazemore (Andrew), Jay Elliott and Emily Horowitz; two great grandchildren: Jade Marie Elliott and Dawson Carter; and countless nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Darrell Elliott; her son, Alan Keith Elliott; an infant son, James Christopher Elliott; and ten siblings: Charles B. Tiller, Walter R. Tiller, William Tiller, Howard R. Tiller, Claude E. Tiller, Katherine Hay, James S. Tiller, Hazel D. Snyder, Marvin E. Tiller and Alvis L. Tiller.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 18, 2021, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Sisk officiating. Burial will be at the West Irvine Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Darrell Elliott, Kyle Elliott, Chris Stone, Brandon Elliott, Jake Purifoy and Tim Scobie.

Phyllis Ann Johnson, age 73, of Cobb Hill Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, following a short illness.
She was born July 6, 1948 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late John Leonard and Hazel Hall Patrick. She was a retired Carhartt, Inc. employee and a member of the Cobb Hill Crossroads Community Church. She had lived in Estill County most of her life.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Johnson; and is survived by four sisters: Opal Covey (Tony),
Leona Abney (Gene), Glenda Abney (Ernie), all of Estill County; and Ruth Fox (Tom), Madison County; five brothers: Bob Oaks (Doris), Indiana; Walter Patrick, Michigan; Elwood Patrick (Debbie), Henry Patrick, and Mark Patrick (Sandy), all of Estill County; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three siblings, Maxine Abney, Leora Rogers and Bill Patrick.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, September 19, 2021, 2:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Elwood Patrick officiating. Burial was at the West Irvine Cemetery. Visitation was held Sunday from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 p.m. at funeral home.
Pallbearers were Woody Patrick, James Abney, Justin Patrick, Tyler Fox, Zach Dennis and Billy Bryant.

Kenova Delbert “K.D.” Miller, age 80, of West Cedar Grove Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021, at the Irvine Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, following a long illness.
He was born May 9, 1941 in Estill County and was the son of the late Ivan and Opal Cox Miller. He was a retired employee of Gulf State and a member of the Irvine Nazarene Church. He had lived in Estill County most of his life.
Mr. Miller is survived by one sister, Shelby Jean Hardy, Clark County; one brother, Lewis Miller, Estill County; and nieces and nephew, Teresa Miller-Ruiz, Robyn Jones and Shannon D. Miller.
No services are planned at this time.

Owen Woolery, age 60, of Woolery Lane in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at his home following a short illness.
He was born January 19, 1961 in Madison County and was the son of the late Owen and Ruby Catherine Griffin Woolery. He was a mechanic and had lived in Estill County all his life.
Mr. Woolery is survived by one brother, Alvin Woolery (Virginia), Estill County; one nephew, Jeremy Woolery (Andrea);
two great nephews, Hayden and Chase Woolery; and one great niece, Maddi Woolery.
He was preceded in death by his nephew, Jamey Woolery.
Graveside services were conducted Friday, September 17, 2021, 3:00 p.m., at the Woolery Cemetery with Bro. Mark Pearson officiating.

Jimmie Cecil Johnson, age 69, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at VA Hospital, Cooper Drive, Lexington, Kentucky, after a long illness.
Jimmie, the son of the late Virgil and Effie Willis Johnson, was born in Estill County on October 31, 1951. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trading. He was a member of Union City Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sister, Betty Brandenburg (David) of Richmond; one brother, Virgil Johnson (Christine) of Versailles; two nephews: Todd Brandenburg (Kelly) and Alan Brandenburg (Kindra); two nieces: Paige Greer (Travis) and Andrea Johnson and two great nieces: Samantha Brandenburg and Addison Brandenburg.
Jimmie is also preceded in death by one brother, Bennie Johnson; and his sister, Margaret Johnson.
A family graveside service will be conducted at the Johnson Cemetery on McSwain Branch Road in Estill County with Rev. Rob Taylor officiating.

Chad Arthur Williams, age 46, of Edgewood Drive in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at his home.
He was born August 25, 1975 in Estill County and was the son of W. T. “Tom” and Nelle Bonny Williams. He was a painter and a member of the Ravenna Nazarene Church. He had lived in Estill County all his life.
Survivors in addition to his father and mother include his sister, C-Ann Williams Forehand (Rob); his brother, Kevin T. Williams; and his nephew, Robert Thomas Forehand.
Private graveside services will be conducted at a later date.

Mary Louise Puckett, age 58, of Furnace Junction Road in Ravenna, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at her home following a short illness.
She was born March 13, 1963 in Montgomery County and was the daughter of the late Irvin and Myrtle Snowden Strange. She was a homemaker and had lived in Estill County most of her life.
Mrs. Puckett is survived by her husband, David Glenn Puckett; one daughter, April Lynn Young, Madison County; one son, Joshua Lewis, Estill County; three sisters: Nancy Puckett, Estill County; Minnie Jordan, Powell County; and Helen Townsend, Clark County; five brothers: James Strange, Fayette County; Charlie Strange, Jerry Strange, and Billy Strange, all of Powell County; and Eugene Strange, Estill County; and multiple furry grandbabies.
She was preceded in death by four siblings: Ethel Tipton, Bethel Barnes, David Strange and Roy Strange.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 17, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Puckett Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 16th from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Hazel Jean Floyd, age 92, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021.
Born to Glyndon and Elizabeth Warner Webb in Madison County June 11, 1929, she was the oldest daughter of 12 children. She was a devoted homemaker all her life, truly a blessing to her family and friends. She was always working with her vegetable and flower gardens, sewing and quilting with great joy and thankfulness.
Hazel Jean was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Floyd; two sons, Sherman and Larry Floyd; two sons-in-law, Sheryl Griffin and Billy Kelley; five brothers, Robert, Homer, Edward, Glyndon Jr., and James Roy Webb; and three sisters, Daisy Webb, Myrtle Cowan and Wanda Webb.
She is survived by five daughters: Faye Renfro (Joe), Mt. Sterling; Linda Kelley, Richmond; Brenda Fauste (Bob), Clay City; Martha “Jenny” Griffin, Irvine; and Frances Spader (Glenn), Lexington; one daughter-in-law, Sue Floyd, Irvine; two sisters: Catherine Elliott, Connersville, Indiana; and Betty Brookshire (James), Irvine; one brother, Paul Webb (Kathleen), Richmond; 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Betty Brookshire and the Hospice Care Center.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 16, 2021, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eric Patrick and Bro. Glennis Sizemore officiating. Burial will be at the Johnny Richardson Cemetery in the Sandhill community. Visitation will be held Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons: Larry Dean Floyd, Bobby James Fauste, Jeremy Moreland, Derek Kelley, Don Brewer and Marcum Brown.

Russell Lyle Burgess, age 78, widower of Frances Burgess, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at the VA Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
He was born on October 10, 1942, in Clark County to the late Harrison and Mary Davis Burgess. He was a lifelong farmer and owner of Clark County Coins and Antiques. He was veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Burgess is survived three children, Tina Marie Burton (Mike), Lora Lyle Fugate, Tami Gentry; seven grandchildren, James Kendell Barnes (Dana), David Lee Burton (Nora), Lyle Andrew Burton (Lacy), Zachary Lyle Fugate (Megan), Hunter Jolie Robinson, Teresa Crum, Lorraine Gentry and Russell Gentry (Jamie); ten great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and one son, Russell Kelly Burgess.
Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Clarmont Memorial Gardens.

Shirley Kirby, age 73, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021 at the Fountain Circle Nursing Home in Winchester.
She was born July 24, 1948 in Hamilton, Ohio to Rod and Lola Miller.
Shirley is survived by three sons: Marcus Kirby (Renaye Merrill), Rodney Kirby, and Anthony Kirby; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren; four brothers: Carl Miller, Frankie Miller, David Miller, and Gary Miller; and two sisters: Joyce Tinsley and Sarah Tinsley.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel in Irvine. Friends may visit Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in the West Irvine Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Kourtney Kirby, Leighandra Kirby, Christy Nieves, E. J. Nieves and Michael Kirby.

Charles Surfreenious “Freen” Warner, age 62, of Oak Valley Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, September 10, 2021, at the St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington, following a long illness.
He was born March 29, 1959 in Madison County and was the son of Robert “Bobby” Warner and the late Mattie Jones Warner. He had lived in Estill County most of his life. He was an organ and tissue donor.
Survivors in addition to his father include two sons, four siblings, five grandsons, one granddaughter, and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
Graveside services were conducted Wednesday, September 15, 2021, 1:00 p.m., at the Warner Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Steven Hix, Robert Barnes, Madilyn Barnes, Bill Mullins, Gene Jones and Kenneth Jones.
Honorary pallbearers were Adam Warner, Jonathan Thacker, Gene Jones, Ronnie Warner, Phillip Jones and Wayne Warner.

Bessie Ann “Boots” Reed, age 89, the wife of Ira Eugene Reed, passed away at her home on Friday, September 10, 2021.
Boots was born on May 23, 1932 in Estill County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late John Reed Bicknell and Clella Kindred Bicknell. She was a homemaker, a former pediatric nurse for Dr. Robert Rice and a retired associate of Gem-Ray Jewelers. Boots was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved antiques and loved to cook, not only for her family but for friends and neighbors as well. She was a member of the Panola Baptist Church and the Country Square Homemakers.
Survivors include her husband, Gene; one daughter, Kella Reed Miller (Doug); one grandson, Dawson Reed Miller; and one nephew and two nieces: Johnny Mays, Melissa Day and Elizabeth Day and their families.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, LaVern Mays and Janis Day.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Ronk officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be after 12:00 Noon on Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family requests that visitors wear a face mask at the visitation and funeral.

Freida Mae McDowell, age 77, of Brittany Lane in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021, at her home following a long illness.
She was born September 11, 1944 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Luther Fields and Opal Eve Fields. She was a retired employee of the Lonza Chemical Plant and had lived in Estill County most of her life.
Freida is survived by her daughter, Samantha McDowell; one brother, James Doyle Fields; and one grandchild, Davey Smith.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Faye Rose; three brothers, Dennis Fields, Dwayne Fields, and Lloyd Fields; and one grandchild, Cody Smith.
Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday, September 15, 2021, 12:00 Noon at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel.

Rita Mae Isaacs, age 60, of Main Street in Ravenna, Kentucky, passed away Friday, September 10, 2021, at Mercy Health in Fairfield, Ohio, following a short illness.
She was born October 25, 1960 in Estill County and was the daughter Eva Anglin Isaacs and the late Graydon Isaacs. She was an employee of the Estill County Circuit Clerks Office and had lived in Estill County all her life. She was a member of the Crooked Creek Christian Church.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her companion, Kevin Chaney, Estill County; two daughters: Krista Collett and Jessica Cox, both of Estill County; two sons: Robbie Cox and Stevie Cox, both of Estill County; three sisters: Minnie Cruse, Madison County; Charlene Abney, Estill County; and Trena Carrier, Stanford; two brothers: Randall Isaacs and Greg Isaacs, both of Estill County; eleven grandchildren: Kylee Canter, Mason Canter, Sofia Collett, Jacob Smith, Scott Smith, Amber Smith, Megan Sitter, Shae Cox, Joshlyn Cox, Tara Coffey, and Devin Coffey; and four great grandchildren: Krislyn Forjone, Kenzie Coffey, Mckenna Coffey, and Sophia Coffey.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 14, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Walton Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, September 13th from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Peggy Sue Shepherd, 54

Peggy Sue Shepherd, age 54, wife of Alan Shepherd, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester, Kentucky.
A native of Winchester, she was born on September 17, 1966, to the late Otis and Maudie Tipton Crawford. She is the niece of Ray Boy Tipton of Irvine.
Survivors include four children, Shannon Wasson, Latasha Shepherd, Alan Shepherd, and Aaron Shepherd; two siblings, Leighann Harrison and Danny Crawford; several extended family members, friends, and her beloved fur grandbabies.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Lisa Marie Crawford Roland on May 29, 2021.
Peggy’s wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

William Henry “Bill” Gilbert, 84

William Henry “W. H." or "Bill” Gilbert, age 84, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester.
Born on August 29, 1937 on Furnace Mountain in Estill County, he was the son of the late Cebert and Fannie L. Crowe Gilbert.
W. H. “Bill” was a man with many careers, from the age of 16 as a dishwasher for Frisch’s Big Boy Restaurant he moved up to manager for over 25 years with the restaurants. He later managed Jerry’s Restaurants. He owned and operated the Stanton Dry Cleaners and he also served as a supervisor of a fencing company doing horse farms in several states. Bill also owned and operated the Powell County Feed Store in Clay City for several years before working over twenty years as a janitor at Stanton Elementary School where he was affectionately known as “Mr. Bill”. Bill also worked part time for the Bluegrass Stock Yards and worked until his illness at age 83 part time at the Stanton Post Office. Bill was a hard worker who loved his family and his farm on Hardwicks Creek.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Buckler Gilbert.
W. H. Gilbert is survived by his son, Dale Gilbert (Nancy) of Clay City; and stepson, Timothy Pergram (Susan) of Lexington; two grandchildren, Amanda Gilbert and Cory Gilbert; three step grandchildren, Clay Thomas Pergram (Sarah), Cameron McCall Pergram (Lauren) and Zach Hein; three great grandchildren, McKaila Johnson, Ava Johnson and Reese Johnson; two step great grandchildren, Seeley Grace Pergram and Grey Thomas Pergram; one sister, Phyllis Noland (W. J.) of Irvine; three brothers: Earl Gilbert (Doris) of Lexington, Morris Gilbert and Cebert Jr. Gilbert (Karen), both of Stanton; along with several nieces and nephews whom he adored.
Funeral services officiated by Pastor Greg Webb will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Hearne Funeral Home Inc., 125 West College Avenue, Stanton. Visitation begins at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Stanton Cemetery on Main Street.

Louise Tipton McIntosh, 86, of Ravenna, Kentucky, widow of Virgil McIntosh, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at her residence.
She was born in Ravenna, December 13, 1934 to Pearl and Biddie Barnes Tipton. She was a retired factory worker.
Louise is survived by a son, Garry McIntosh of Clay City; a daughter, Kathy McIntosh of Ravenna; two grandchildren, Heather and Tara McIntosh; two great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild; and two brothers: Bradley Tipton (Sheila) of Ravenna, and Paul Tipton of Berea.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Biddie Barnes Tipton; her husband, Virgil McIntosh; three brothers, Neal, Manuel and Melvin Tipton; and six sisters: Golden Mae Johnson, Armilda Frances "Mickie" McKie, Emma Lee Watson, Donna Pack, Dorothy Jean Ballard and Virginia Carol Tipton.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 10, 2021 at the Gray Cemetery on Tipton Ridge with Bro. Larry Frymyer officiating.

Lonnie Denziel Muncie, age 65, of Hood Avenue in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021, at his home following a short illness.
He was born May 20, 1956 in Richmond, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Ernest “Chock” Muncy and Amanda Francis Estes Muncy. He was a member of the VFW and the Peacemakers and had lived in Estill County all his life.
Mr. Muncie is survived by his wife, Betty Adams Muncie; three stepdaughters: Crystal Muncy (Vondal Feltner), Stanton; Amanda Childers (Kenneth), Rogers; and April Hull (Kenneth), Tompkinsville; four grandchildren: Ashley Muncy, James Puckett, Melissa Childers, and Brittany Chaney; one niece, Misty Muncy; and one great nephew, Chandler Raker.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Ray Muncy and Larry Douglas Daniels; and one grandchild, Kenneth Marshall Childers, Jr.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, September 10, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Skip Johnson officiating. Burial was at the Crowe Cemetery. Visitation was held Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
