Melissa Renee Arvin Lovin, age 50, of Irvine, Kentucky, departed this life on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington.
She was born on January 13, 1971 in Irvine, Kentucky to the late Danny Berl Kidd and Alma “Cricket” Kidd. She was a patient care tech. for Baptist Health in Richmond.
In addition to her father, Melissa was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Kidd; and her grandfather, Raleigh Arvin.
Survivors include her husband, Randy Lovin; her mother, Alma “Cricket” Lovin; two daughters: Ciara Arvin and Haley McIntosh (Austin); one grandson, Mason McIntosh; a very special aunt, Lucy Arvin; and many other relatives and friends to miss her and mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Melissa Renee Arvin Lovin will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals with Brother Todd Blevins officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 19th from 6 until 10 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Shellie Hays, Jeff Lamb, Mike Arvin, Roger Arvin, Cody Lovin and Steve Hardy.

Richard Neal, age 60, passed away Friday, October 15, 2021, at the Baptist Health Hospital in Richmond, Kentucky.
He was born November 23, 1960, in Irvine to Hazel Mae Neal. He was a carpenter.
Mr. Neal is survived by his mother, Hazel Mae Neal; two sons: Jeremy Neal (Emma) and Richie Neal; three grandchildren; four brothers: Joe Townsend, Tom Townsend, John Townsend (Amy), and David White; two sisters: Dorothy Knight (Henry) and Connie Estes (Jake); and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Neal Jr., a daughter, Keira Neal; and a brother, James “Murdock” Townsend.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel in Irvine with Sister Sheila Neal officiating. Friends may visit Tuesday from 10 a.m. till time of the service. Burial will be in the Hunt Cemetery in Irvine.
Douglas Wayne “Big Doug” Newman, 58

Douglas Wayne “Big Doug” Newman, age 58, of Moore Cemetery Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021, in Beattyville.
He was born May 7, 1963 in Madison County and was the son of the late Vernon and Dollie Patton Newman. He was a logger and he loved his family, his dogs, hunting and being in the woods.
Mr. Newman is survived by his wife, Lori Fae Wilson Newman; four sons: D.J. Newman, Ethan Shane Newman, Shane Michael Davis, and Darryl Ray Davis; five daughters: Ashley Newman, Sarah Mohon, Dixie Hall, Glenna Davis, and Mollie Wilson; two sisters: Fonda Kelley (G.B.) and Wilma Kelley; 15 grandchildren; and special friends: Jason Young and Curt Young.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Kenneth Newman.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, October 20, 2021, 1:00 p.m., at the Roberts Cemetery.

James M. Nunnelley, age 71, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2021 at the Marcum and Wallace Hospital in Irvine.
He was born July 8, 1950 in Cincinnati, Ohio to James and Donna Nunnelley.
Mr. Nunnelley is survived by his mother, Donna Nunnelley; two daughters: Jeanette Tiemeyer and Jessica Winchester; a granddaughter, Lynn Smith Cole; four great grandchildren; two brothers: Paul Nunnelley and Alan Nunnelley; and four sisters: Kathy Blankenship, Effie Halfpenny, Betty Kelley and Phyllis Eldridge.
He is preceded in death by his father, James Nunnelley; and a brother, Kenny Nunnelley.
A memorial service will be held 12 PM Monday, October 25, 2021 at the Restoration Community Church in Irvine with Bro. Jim Bonny officiating.

Sherry Jean Stamper, age 64, of Irvine, Kentucky, departed this life on Thursday, October 14, 2021, peacefully at her home surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Sherry was born on July 15, 1957, in Oxford, Ohio to the late Kenneth Ray Woosley and Barbara Jean Woosley. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for 22 years and a retired home health care aid provider with MEPCO Home Health.
In addition to her father, Mrs. Stamper is preceded in death by a daughter; Andrea Stamper.
She is survived by her loving husband, Charles Thomas Stamper; one daughter, Tamara Flynn (Windle); a son, Steven Stamper; a stepdaughter, Renea McKinney (Thomas); and a step-son, Mardy Stamper; eight grandchildren: Breanna, Brooklynn, Bethany, Thomas Jr., Trevor, Noah, Corey, and Kaylee; three great grandchildren: Kenadee, Loraianna, and Jolean; one brother, Jeffrey Ray Woosley; two sisters, Judy Carol Anderson (Glen) and Angela Dawn Miller; and many other relatives and friends to miss her and mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Sherry Jean Stamper will be conducted on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Brother Sherl Thomas officiating. Internment will follow in the Horn Cemetery in the Beattyville community. Mrs. Stamper will lie in state at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be Saturday, October 16th from 6 until 8 p.m. at Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals.

Bobby Eugene Estes, 79, husband of Sharon Tipton Estes, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at his home in Stanton, Kentucky.
He was born July 14, 1942 in Irvine, to the late James G. and Ora Rea McIntosh Estes. A lifelong resident of Powell County, he is remembered for his immeasurable contributions to his community as a retired educator who taught auto mechanics at Powell County High School, an accomplished real estate agent, and as the former owner of Estes Sunoco in Stanton. In addition to his professional achievements, he was a devout Christian, a devoted family man, and an honorable veteran of the United States Army, having served with great valor during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his wife Sharon, Mr. Estes is survived by: son Dewayne Estes (Felicia); a daughter, Bridget Marcum (Brian); five grandchildren: Jacob Estes, Luke Marcum, Claire Estes, Noah Marcum, and Julia Estes; and a nephew, Richard White, Jr.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Davis & Davis Funeral Home, 777 West College Avenue, Stanton, and will be officiated by Bro. Steven Donithan. Visitation will be held Friday, October 15th beginning at 5:00 p.m. for family and at 6:00 p.m. for friends. Burial will follow the funeral on Saturday in Stanton Cemetery with Jacob Estes, Luke Marcum, Noah Marcum, Rob Little, Richard Boone, Brian Marcum, Poss White, and Damon Hughes serving as pallbearers.

Misty Spring Riddell Newby, age 40, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at her home.
She was born on November 17, 1980, to Billy DeWayne Riddell and Patty Sue Richardson Riddell in Richmond, Kentucky.
Misty is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Mandy Faye Richardson; and her paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Opal Riddell.
In addition to her parents, Miss Newby is survived by three brothers: Kevin Riddell (Karen), Dustin Riddle (Leslie) and John Riddle; and two sisters, Savannah Riddle and Araya Riddle.
Visitation will be at the Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals, Saturday October 16, 2021 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 p.m., with a private service to be held at a later date.

Raymond J. Hale, age 78, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the St Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
He was born in Estill County January 9, 1943 to James and Mable Noland Hale. He was retired from the V R Wasson Factory.
Mr. Hale is survived by his daughter, Donna Brinegar (Glenn) of Irvine; a granddaughter, Jessica Abell (Jeremy) of Berea; two step grandchildren: Cheyenne Brinegar and Russell Brinegar; and two sisters: Lorena Pearl Shofner and Carrie Mae Benson, both of Nicholasville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mable Noland Hale; a brother, Lewis Hale; and a sister, Barbara Jean Hale.
Funeral services were held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the New Vision Full Gospel Church in Ravenna with Bro. Buford Powell officiating. Friends visited Friday, October 8th from 5 p.m. till 7 p.m. at the church. Burial was in the West Irvine Cemetery.

Amelia Generose Beard, age 93, of Suncrest Cove in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at her home following a long illness.
She was born July 17, 1928 in Daviess County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Ellen Generose Sapp Armond. She was a homemaker and a member of the River Drive Christian Church.
Mrs. Beard is survived by her husband, Arthur William Beard, Jr.; a daughter, Cheryl Truax (Tim), Louisville; three sons: Bill Beard (Shirley), Irvine; Gary Beard (Jackie), Charlestown, Indiana; and Tom Beard (Debbie), Fairdale; ten grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings.
Graveside services will be conducted Friday, October 15, 2021, 10:00 a.m., at the Louisville Memorial Gardens West with Bro. Randy Beard officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. The family requests that everyone wear a mask.

Ronald Patrick, age 75, of Hamilton, Ohio, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.
He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on March 6, 1946 to Leonard and Dorothy Scheidt Patrick. Ronald retired from Pease Company after more than thirty years of service.
Ronald is survived by two sons, Scott Patrick (Melissa) and Tim Patrick (Kathy); his stepdaughter, Holly Burg (Bill); three siblings, Michael R. Patrick (Betty), Sherry Hammock (William), and Terry Patrick; numerous grandchildren, including Elijah Messer, and great grandchildren; devoted friend, Kenny; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Patrick; his mother, Dorothy Dees; and two children, Emily Rose Messer and Kevin Patrick.
Visitation was held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio, on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:00 PM. Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 13th at Cobb Hill Cemetery, Irvine, Kentucky.

She was born in Irvine, July 22, 1961 to Almassa and Florence Gray Covey. She was a housewife and a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Mrs. Berger is survived by her husband, James Berger; a son, Josh Adkins; two grandchildren, three brothers: Al Covey, Gary Covey, and Coleman Covey; four sisters: Diana Frymyer, Sherry Covey, Carolyn Covey, and Mickey Embs; and her faithful fur baby, Snowball.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Almassa and Florence Gray Covey; two brothers: Leon Covey and Pete Covey; and a sister, Pam Brandenburg.
Funeral services were held 12:00 Noon, Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Irvine with Bro. Tim Stidham and Bro. George Stidham officiating. Friends visited Thursday from 10:00 a.m. till time of the service.

Roy Elgan Cox, age 57, of Cherry Street in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021, at his home, following a short battle with cancer.
He was born July 29, 1964 in Fayette County and was the son of Rita Yvonne Richardson Cox and the late Marvin Cox. He worked in auto body repair and was a member of the First Christian Church. He had lived in Estill County all his life.
Survivors in addition to his mother include one sister: Earline Arvin, Estill County; one brother, Glenn Cox (Lisa), Estill County; his dear companion, Susan Pendleton; a nephew, Trent Arvin; two nieces: Loren Arvin Chaney (Steve), Kaitlyn Arvin Weekley (Mitchell); great nephews: Andrew Chaney, Kyser Chaney and Ian Weekley; and great nieces: Sophia Weekley and Kenslie Weekley.
Private graveside services were held Wednesday, October 13, at the West Irvine Cemetery with Bro. Tim Floyd officiating.

Michael Shelly Helton, age 59, widower of Pamela Sue Helton of Stanton, Kentucky died Saturday, October 9, 2021 from injuries received in an accident on Highway 82 in Estill County, Kentucky.
Born January 7, 1962 in Barbourville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Shelly Coy Helton and the late Alpha “Jean” Marshall Burgess and was an United States Army veteran. Mike Helton was the operator of Bruen’s Restaurant in Stanton.
He was a member of Southern Brothers Motorcycle Club, Task Force Omega, Amvets Post 67 and Owingsville VFW.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, Austin Dean Helton; and abrother, Richard Eugene Helton.
He is survived by his sons, Michael Coy Helton of Bowen and Trinity Joseph Michael Crump of Owingsville; a daughter, Kayla Ledford (Ryland) of Bowen; four sisters: Matilda Purvis of Mt. Sterling, Katherine Skaggs (Robert) of Jeffersonville, Janice Banks of Mt. Sterling, and Melissa Helton of Mt. Sterling; and four grandchildren, Noah Ledford, Corbin Crump, Harley Ledford and Daniel Willoughby.

Virginia Faye Stevens, age 61, of Leighton Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021, at the Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester, following a short illness.
She was born January 4, 1960 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Joyce Puckett Stevens. She was a homemaker and a member of the Barnes Mountain Church. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
Virginia Faye is survived by one sister, Wilma Jean Stevens, Estill County; two brothers: Lander Stevens and Darrell Lee Stevens, both of Estill County; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four siblings, Glenna Dean Stevens, Carol McKinney, Charles Stevens, Jr. and Dale Stevens.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 14, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Adrian McKinney officiating. Burial will be at the Stevens Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Thelma June Hensley, age 49, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the Baptist Health Hospital in Richmond.
She was born in Irvine, January 3, 1972 to Franklin and Yvonne Neal Draggoo. She was a homemaker.
Thelma is survived by a son, Lloyd Hensley (Robin); two daughters, Destiny Hensley and Brooklyn Spicer; four grandchildren; three brothers: Frank Draggoo, Jimmy Draggoo, and Charles Draggoo; and four sisters: Ethel Lynch (Danny), Nancy Ballard, Minnie Sowers (Robbie) and Lucy Walters (Roger).
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 11, 2021 at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel in Irvine. Friends may visit Monday from 11:00 a.m. till time of the service. Burial will be in the Draggoo Cemetery in Irvine.

Russell James Hunt, 83

Russell James Hunt, age 83, of Watson Ridge Road in Ravenna, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021, at the University of Kentucky Hospice Care Center in Lexington.
He was born April 28, 1938 in Estill County and was the son of the late Harlan and Rachel Arnold Hunt. He moved to Ohio at the age of three and came back to Estill County 18 years ago. He lived most of his married life in Monroe, Ohio. He was a charter member of the Monroe Church of the Nazarene. He worked in drafting and tool design and retired from GE in Cincinnati.
Russell was a lifelong artist painting mostly landscapes and places of local history. His painting of the Fitchburg Furnace is at the Estill County Historical and Genealogy Society. Clay City’s Red River Historical Society and Museum also has two of his paintings. Glady Visitor Center in Red River Gorge has had several of his paintings on display since 2008.
He married his wife, Patti Downing Hunt, on October 5, 1963.
Survivors in addition to his wife include: his daughter, Debbie Hafley (Matthew), Union, Kentucky; his son, Jon Hunt (Ginger), Grand Rapids, Ohio; five grandchildren: Jessie Hunt, Adrienne Hafley, Cassie Hafley, James Hunt and Lily Hafley; one sister, Lavada Hunt Hursell, Fairfield, Ohio; three sisters-in-law: Inez Williams Hunt, Hamilton, Ohio; Dee Downing Birkholz and June Downing Deaton, Miamisburg, Ohio; hisis lifelong friends, David and Carolyn Lee, Irvine; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest Hunt, Harlan Hunt, Jr. and Lee Hunt.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Barnes and Bro. John Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 1:00 p.m. on the same Saturday at the funeral home.

Stella Clay Cox Hall Crowe, 84, of Lancaster, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at her home.
She was born in Estill County on August 6, 1937, the daughter of the late Reubin and Ila Mae Durbin Cox. Stella was a former employee of Certified Breaks and loved to read, work on search puzzles and color. She also enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
Survivors include one daughter, Pamela Leber; one step-daughter, Sheryl Moody; one brother, Johnny Cox (Lois); five sisters, Alverta White, Etta Carpenter, Jewell Jones (Lewis), Brenda Cadman (Richard), and Linda Bloss (Ronnie Colbenson); five grandchildren, Shawn Sinkhorn (Karen), Roger Sinkhorn, Tara Leber (Phillip), Lindsey Leber, and Matt Kelly; three step-grandchildren, Amy Webb (Mark), Chris Crowe, and Melody Stanelle (Tim); one great grandchild, Brooklyn Sinkhorn; and a special friend, Dianne Wall; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Crowe; three brothers, Perry Cox, Paul Cox, and Jimmy Cox; and two sisters, Mable Lewis and Isabelle Roberts.

Carrie Genean Ramey Blanton White, age 62, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at her home in Lancaster, Kentucky.
Carrie was born on April 1, 1959 in in Johnson County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of Green and Carrie Osborne Ramey, both of whom preceded her in death. She was of the Baptist faith, a full time Granny and had worked for Holiday Inn Express as the assistant head housekeeper. She was a member of Old Time Southern Baptist who loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing, UK Basketball, was a "True Blue" fan and a Pioneer Woman enthusiast.
Survivors include her partner, Ricky LaVaughn White; two sons, Hubert White (Stefanie) of Irvine, and Bryan Blanton of Paintsville,; one daughter, Sabrina Blanton of Radcliff; one brother, Dolphis Ramey; and five sisters, Nora Curtis, Ruby Blanton, Mary Ramey, Roberta Ramey and Ines Boggs. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Ethan Blanton, Gabriel Blanton, Zackery Ray, Jerimah Ray, Sophia White, Blaze Blanton, Danika Baker and Westley Baker; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Carrie was preceded in death by a daughter, Samantha Blanton; and five brothers, James Ramey, Willard Ramey, Johnny Ramey, Roy Ramey and Procter Ramey.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home in Richmond, with Josh Ramey and Harold Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Gill Cemetery on Long Branch Road. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until service time at Noon the funeral home.

Garry Lee Holton, age 69, of Rice Station Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021 after a long illness.
He was born December 8, 1951 in Hamlin, West Virginia to Dewey Ray and Norma Lee Lawson Holton. He was retired from CSX Railroad and was an avid fisherman. He was known to most as "The Muskee Man" and in his home town as "Tiger."
Mr. Holton is survived by four sons, David Allen Holton, Travis Aaron Holton (Jessica), Matthew Perry Holton, and Robert Joe Grigsby (Angela); one grandson, Jacob Danial Holton; eight granddaughters: Brittany Paige Holton, Sydney Faith Riddle, MaKenna Raye Plowman (Ben), Bethany Loren Holton, Lilli Ann Holton, Evy Jane Holton, Kelsey NiKole Grigsby, Morgan Christine Grigsby; nieces and nephews; and four great grandsons, Oakland Ray Plowman, Kaison Lohren Holton, Julain Pagen, and Aiden Pagen.
He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Lee Holton; one grandson, Lucas Aaron Holton; a sister, Kathy Holton Reynolds; and a brother, Dewey Ray Holton Jr.
A private graveside service was held.

Danny Wayne Webb, age 69, of Waco, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Baptist Health – Richmond.
He was born in Richmond, Kentucky on August 24, 1952, the son of Janet Alcorn Webb, and the late James Wayne Webb. Danny was a 1970 graduate of Madison Central and shortly after went to work for Uncle Charlie’s Meats where he was still working in the sales & delivery department. He liked fishing, hunting, attending Gospel singings, but his greatest “job” was his family, especially his grandson, whom he enjoyed pushing on the swing and taking rides on the riding mower. Danny was a faithful member of the Pine Grove Pentecostal Holiness Assembly.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Pauline Oliver Webb; his son, Daniel Matthew Webb (Jessica); his grandson, Grayson Matthew Webb; his mother, Janet Webb; his brothers, John Clayton Webb (Judy), Jimmy Douglas Webb (Elleen), and Darrel Keith Webb (Teresa); one sister, Patricia Gail Roberts (William); two nephews, Brian Clay Webb (Kristy), and Clayton Enoch Webb; and one niece, NancyAnna Webb; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 8, 2021, at the Pine Grove Pentecostal Holiness Assembly, 105 Pine Grove Road, Richmond, with Rev. Sidney Sparks and Rev. Mitchell Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m., Thursday, October 7th at the church.
Pallbearers will be Brian Webb, Clayton Webb, NancyAnna Webb, John Webb, Jimmy Webb, and Harold Oliver.
Honorary pallbearers will be Walsa Blanton, Mason Woolery, Sidney Oliver, Jr., George Oliver and Tim Marshall.
