    Larry Benton Mayse, age 67, husband of Mary Morris Mayse, departed this life on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
    Larry was born June 23, 1954 in Beattyville, a son to the late Junice and Beulah Mae Johnson Mayse. He was a retired quarry worker for the Kentucky Stone Company in Yellow Rock and was a member of the Little Creek Church on Spencer Ridge of Lee County.
    He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Morris Mayse; three sons: Brian Mayse (Jennifer), Larry Mayse (Cindy), and Tim Johnson (Crystal), all of Beattyville; one brother, Carl Mayse (Floices); three sisters, Jo Thacker, Hopie Thacker, both of Irvine; and Ellis Marie Mayse of Stanton; six grandchildren: Harlan McKinley Mayse, Brian Benton Mayse, Dylan Scott Mayse, River Mayse, Cainie Mayse, and Holly Johnson; along with many other loving family members, and friends.
    Larry was preceded in death his parents, Junice and Beulah Mae Johnson Mayse; one daughter, Marsha Mayse; and four brothers: Junice Jackson Mayse, Randall Mayse, Shannon Mayse, and Leo Mayse.
    Funeral Services were held on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the Booneville Funeral Home with Pastor Garett Thomas officiating. Larry was laid to rest in the Morris-Mayse Family Cemetery located on Spencer Ridge in Lee County.

Carol Ann Reynolds Haller

    Carol Ann Reynolds Haller, age 78, of Harris Ferry Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021, at the Marcum and Wallace Memorial Hospital in Irvine.
    She was born August 30, 1943, in Carter County and was the daughter of the late Glenn and Ruth Scott Reynolds. She was a retired school teacher and a member of the Wisemantown United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Garden Thyme Herb Club and had lived in Estill County for the last 23 years.
    Mrs. Haller was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Haller III.
    She is survived by one son, Steve Haller IV of Virginia and his family, Jean and Garrett; one daughter, April Lee Masters of Estill County and her family, Johnny and Seth; and one sister, Bo McCreary, Estill County.
    In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Reynolds; and a brother-in-law, Jimmy McCreary.
    Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, November 27, 2021, 1:00 p.m., at the Wisemantown United Methodist Church with Sis. Bethany Keith officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church.

    Rex Allen Hardy, age 49, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021 at his residence.
    He was born November 30, 1971 in Irvine to Danny and Linda Riddell Hardy. He worked in construction.
    Mr. Hardy is survived by his mother, Linda Riddell Hardy of Irvine; two daughters: Danielle Hardy of Irvine, and Stephanie Hardy of Richmond; a granddaughter, Melody Collett; and a brother, Danny Wayne Hardy of Irvine. He was preceded in death by his father Danny Hardy.
    Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel in Irvine with Bro. Sherl Thomas officiating. Friends may visit Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. 'till time of the service.

    David Lloyd Lynch, age 46, of Irvine, Kentucky, husband of Wanda Shuler Lynch, passed away Friday, November 19, 2021 at his residence.
    He was born July 7, 1975 in Irvine to David and Judy Miller Lynch. He was a member of the True Vine Ministries.
    Mr. Lynch is survived by his parents, David and Judy Miller Lynch; his wife, Wanda Shuler Lynch; a son, John Lynch (Karassa); a daughter, Mary Lynch (Daniel); two grandsons, Bentley and Chase Lynch; a brother, Mark Lynch; and three sisters: Terri Pyles (Jeff), Tonya Lynch, and Opel Peck (Joey).
    He was preceded in death by a brother, Joey Miller.
    Graveside services were held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, November 21, 2021 at the Crowe Cemetery in Irvine with Bro. Terry Barnes officiating.

    Marilyn Joyce Townsend, age 67, widow of Claude Townsend, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021 in Berea, Kentucky.
    She was born January 2, 1954 in Estill County, Kentucky to the late Lonnie and Ella Rogers Marcum.
    Survivors include two daughters, Angela Renee Williams and Connie Howard; a step-daughter, Teresa Morton (Kenny); two sisters, Carol Ciferri and Lydia Patrick; a brother, Orval Marcum; seven grandchildren, Chelsea Robinson, Logan Watkins, RJ Watkins, Emily Watkins, Ian Morton, Steven Morton, and Hunter Townsend; five great grandchildren, Adrian Smith, Chloe Smith, Kendall Morton, Stella Morton, and Lucas Watkins; and several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Ella Rogers Marcum; her husband, Claude Townsend; a daughter, Rhonda Sparks; a step-son, Glenville Townsend; four sisters, Wandalene Brewer, Juanita Hatton, Georgia Hull, and Velma Powell; and four brothers, Onley Marcum, Dewey Marcum, Delmus "Bill" Marcum, and Lonnie W. Marcum.
    Services will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2021, 1:00 p.m., at Davis & Davis Funeral Home, 777 West College Avenue, Stanton, by Bro. Kenny Wasson.     Sheila Yvonne Murray, age 71, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away at home, Monday, November 8, 2021.
    Sheila was born February 22, 1950 in Belleview, Ohio; grew up in Decatur County, Indiana, lived in Westport as an adult, later in Clay City, Kentucky, and had resided in Seymour since 2010. She was a member of Surprise Christian Church. She has worked at Muscatatuck, Walmart in Seymour, and Lexmark in Kentucky. She loved her family, her dogs and shopping.
    Mrs. Murray is survived by her husband, Claude Robert "Bob" Murray; two sons, Robert Glasson III, Tracy Glasson (Connie) of Irvine, Kentucky; and one stepson, Roger Murray (Monica) of Seymour; five grandchildren, Katie Glasson, Robert Glasson IV (Monica); Tyler Glasson (Sydney), Dakota Glasson, and Jaelynn Miles; and eleven grand children: Mickenna, Huntley, Kiser, Brantley, Athena, Tracy, Joshua, Joseph, Andrew, Blake, Brianna; one great grandchild, Grayson; three siblings, Terry “Butch” Adams (Bert) of Westport, Sherri Adams of Lexington, and Mike Adams (Valerie) of Mt. Sterling; a sister-in-law, Sandra Adams of Westport; and many nieces and nephews.
    Sheila was preceded in death by her mother, Iola Adams; her father, James Winfield Adams; an older brother, Donald Adams (Sandra); an older sister, Sue Corbin, and her former husband, Robert Glasson Jr.
    Funeral services were conducted Friday, November 12, 2021 by Voss Funeral Home at Surprise Christian Church, Rick Grant officiating. Visitation was from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m.

Charles Thomas “Tommy” Stamper


    Charles Thomas “Tommy” Stamper, age 72, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, November 16, 2021.
    He was born on August 23, 1949, in Beattyville, Kentucky to the late Aaron and Ethel Kathrine Estes Stamper. Mr. Stamper was an United States Army Vietnam Veteran and an accomplished Bluegrass musician. He traveled extensively with his group, The New South Wind.
    In addition to his parents, Mr. Stamper is preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Jean Woosley Stamper; one daughter, Andrea Stamper; two brothers, Travis and Curtis Stamper; three sisters, Janice Miller, Mary Tipton, and Julia Tipton; and a granddaughter, Casandra McKinney.
    Tommy is survived by two sons, Mardy Stamper and Steven Stamper; two daughters, Renae McKinney (Tommy) and Tamara Flynn and (Windle); eight grandchildren, Thomas, Trevor, Corey, and Noah McKinney; Breanna, Brooklynn and Bethany Flynn; andnd Kaylee Stamper; three great grandchildren, Kennadee, Lorainna, and Jolean McKinney; two brothers, Willard and Michael Stamper; and three sisters, Jeanetta Ross, Connie Smallwood (Danny), and Katie Caudill.
    Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Emmanuel Baptist Church with Brother Sherl Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Horn Cemetery in Beattyville. Visitation will be Monday, November 22nd from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. at the church.

    Jerry Allen Joseph Wills age 27, of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, departed this life on Monday, November 15, 2021, at his home.
    Jerry was born in Morehead, Kentucky, on June 16, 1994, to Gloria Horn Wills.
    In addition to his mother, Mr. Wills is survived by his wife, Samantha Neace Wills; a daughter, Zoey Arianna Wills; one brother, Allen Wills; and one sister, Monica Wills.

    Elaine Rawlins Babb, born May 23, 1941, to the late Johnnie and Eva Rawlins in Irvine, Kentucky, departed this temporary life for eternal life in Heaven on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, in Austin, Texas.
    Elaine spent most of her life in Irvine on White Oak Road, where she shared many happy memories with her five brothers and sisters. Here she met the love of her life, Fred Babb, and raised her two sons, Larry & Gary. According to Elaine, being a mother is the greatest honor any woman can have. She attended the White Oak Church of God and was an active member, singing in the choir and helping out wherever she could. She was well known for her biscuits and gravy, blackberry jam, and fried apple pies. Elaine also enjoyed flower arranging, crafts, cooking, and canning. However, her favorite way to spend time was visiting with friends, family, and neighbors in the front yard.
    Elaine is survived by her son, Larry, his wife Patty, and her granddaughter, Hailee of Austin, Texas; her brother, Roger Dale Rawlins, and sister, Faye Stepp. Elaine leaves behind many nieces and nephews and their extended families, along with other relatives and friends who will miss her and mourn her passing while celebrating her life. Elaine considered many to be part of her family, including the workers at Sodalis Assisted Living in Buda, Texas.
    Visitation will be held Friday, November 19, 2021, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 20th at White Oak Church of God with Brother Glendon Woosley officiating. Church visitation will be at 11:00 a.m., service will be at 12:00 Noon, followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

    Bobby Joe Tate, age 66, of John Rawlins Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021, at his home.
    He was born December 16, 1954 in Louisville and was the son of the late Henry and Bernice Riddell Tate. He was retired from the United States Army where he served during the Persian Gulf War and was a member of the Baptist Church.
    Mr. Tate was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Kay Hogge Tate; and is survived by three sons: Robert Tate (April), Denver, Colorado; Joey Tate, Spring Hill, Florida; and Michael Tate (Candace), Richmond; two sisters: Brenda Lane and Nancy French; four brothers: Charlie Tate, Johnny Tate, Donald “Cookie” Tate, and Butch Tate; and nine grandchildren.
    Graveside services were conducted in Richmond on Friday, November 19, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at the Madison Memorial Gardens with Bro. Scott Rogers officiating. Military rites were provided by the Richmond Honor Guard. Visitation was held Thursday, November 18th from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home.

    Lanny Dale Rogers, age 75, husband of Linda Shortridge Rogers, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021 at University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington.
    He was born August 25, 1946 in Leeco, Kentucky to the late Leonard D. and Chelsea Hall Rogers. He was a longtime member of Stanton First Church of God, where he served on the board of trustees for many years. He also enjoyed being a DJ at WBFC radio. He loved his church and his family.
    Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Linda Shortridge Rogers; two sons: Tony Rogers (Shelly) and Kevin Rogers (Allyson); two daughters: Melissa Rogers and Daphanie Chapman (Dana); two brothers: Charles Rogers (Joyce), Stanton; and James Darrell Rogers (Nancy), Campton; a sister, LaDonna Pelfrey, Stanton; eight grandchildren, Kolby Boyd, Lauren Chapman, Alyssa Rogers, Kalliegh Rogers, Kory Freeman, Ross Chapman, Chandler Rogers, and Dylan Rogers; and two great grandchildren, Jett Freeman and Penelope Boyd.

    Mr. Quiahua was born on October 18,1978 in Astacinga, Mexico to Julian and Victoria Quiahua.
    In addition to his parents, Domingo is survived by his loving wife, Shannon Branham Quiahua; a daughter, Samantha Neace and fiancé’ Bradley Cash; a son, Justin Neace; two grandchildren, Zoey Wills and Roman Walker; and two brothers, Lidio Quiahua and Elpidio Quiahua.
    Funeral services for Domingo Quiahua will be conducted on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Lewis Home for Funerals with Steve Phillips officiating.     Charles Allen Strange, age 70, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021 at University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, Kentucky.
    Born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Irvin Strange and the late Myrtle Snowden Strange. Charlie was a landscaper who loved drinking his coffee and dancing at the dance halls.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Roy Strange, David Marion Strange, Ethel Tipton, Bethel Dennis and Mary Puckett.
    Charlie is survived by his children, Charlene Strange, Sarah Strange and Rachel Vault, all of Florida; and his siblings, Eugene Strange (Tabitha) of Irvine, Billy Ray Strange, Jerry Strange (Gathala), both of Clay City, James Strange (Brenda) of Lexington, Minnie Pearl Jordan (James Holder) of Clay City, Helen Townsend of Stanton, and Nancy Puckett of Irvine. Ricky Maurice Chaney

    Ricky Maurice Chaney, age 61, of Walton Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021, at the Baptist Health in Richmond following a short illness.
    He was born August 27, 1960 in Estill County and was the son of the late Arthur and Bobbie Walton Chaney. He was truck driver and a member of the Estill County Rescue Squad and the Estill County Fire Department. He had lived in Estill County all his life.
    Mr. Chaney was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Lou Estes Chaney, and is survived by one son, Edmond Chaney; a sister, Michelle Crowe (Ritchie), Estill County; a brother, Kevin L. Chaney, Estill County; and a special nephew and niece: Austin and Macayla Mosley.
    Graveside services were conducted Tuesday, November 16, 2021, 10:00 a.m., at the Walton Cemetery with Bro. John Isfort officiating.

Myra Louise Finney

    Myra Louise Finney, age 77, of Main Street in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021, at her home, following a long illness.
    She was born August 26, 1944 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Myron and Margaret Richardson Thomas. She was a retired teacher with the Estill County School System and was a member of the Rice Station Christian Church. She was also a member of the Teachers Association, the Marcum & Wallace Ladies Auxiliary, the Kiwanis Club, the DAR and Delta Kappa Gama. She served on the Tourism Board, the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital Foundation and worked as a Commissioner with the Housing Authority of Irvine. She was also a founding member of the River City Players.
    Mrs. Finney was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Finney, and is survived by one daughter, Leah Williams, Estill County; one son, Christopher Williams, Estill County; one sister, Marilyn Drake, Mt. Washington; and four grandchildren: Jason Williams, Lona Katherine Williams, Jacob Williams and Mason Williams.
    She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, William Williams.
    Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, November 16, 2021, 1:00 p.m., at the Rice Station Christian Church with Bro. Joe Hall officiating. Burial was at the Thomas Williams Cemetery. Visitation was held Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home and Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Rice Station Christian Church.

    Alice Lucille Lakes Kirby, age 71, died on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Rockcastle Regional Medical Center in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky. She was the widow of David G. Kirby, Sr.
    Alice was born on May 30, 1950 at Bearwallow, Kentucky, and was the daughter of Newtt and Donella Brock Lakes, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and attended Bethlehem Baptist Church.
    Survivors include: two sons, William G. Kirby (Cassie) and David Newton Kirby (Rebecca Asbury); five grandchildren, Ashton Kirby, Jasmine Kirby, Jadelyn Kirby, Marshall Kirby, and Nevaeh Kirby; one brother, William Lester Lakes; and four sisters, Shirley Lunsford, Janet Lakes, Cathy Satterfield, and Lillian Centers.
    A funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Harry Revel officiating. Burial followed in the Pea Ridge Holiness Church Cemetery in Estill County. Visitation was from 5–9 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10th at the funeral home.

    Laura Rose Caudill, 86, wife of Clay Snowden Caudill, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
    Born in Estill County, Kentucky, on October 22, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Bonnie Canter Spivey.
    In addition to her loving husband of 66 years, she is survived by three children: Pam Winebrenner (Kevin), Susan Crowe (Dorsey), and James C. Caudill (Judy); four siblings, Troy Spivey (Polly), Audrey Puckett (Frank), Nancy Basham, and Glenn Spivey (Judy); and seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and a son, Steve Eugene Caudill.
    Mrs. Caudill’s wishes were to be cremated with services at a later date.

    Phillip Jason Puckett, age 41, of Lela Lane in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021.
    He was born March 16, 1980 in Louisville and was the son of Winfred Glenn Puckett and Jo Ellen Calmes Dawson. He was a musician and attended the Tates Creek Christian Church. He had lived in Florida most of his life.
    Survivors, in addition to his father and mother include, one daughter, Stephanie Michelle Puckett, Lexington; one son, Phillip Jason Puckett, Jr., Lexington; and one sister, Stephanie Michelle Puckett, Lexington

Tristan Tomas Cackling

    Tristan Tomas Cackling, age 30, of Dry Branch Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021, in Fleming County.
    He was born January 16, 1991 in Clark County and was the son of Thomas Cackling and Debra Young. He was an employee at the Recovery Center in Nicholasville and had lived in Estill County most his life.
    In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandmother, Wilma Young, Estill County; one daughter, Sophie Scrivner, Estill County; three sons: Braden Cackling, Bentley Cackling, and Karter Cackling, all of Estill County; one sister, Kyra Hatton, Estill County; and one brother, Corey Young, Estill County.
    Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, November 10, 2021, 1:00 p.m., at The Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mikkel Hampton and Coach Lawrence Tiller officiating. Burial was at the Young Cemetery. Visitation was held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
    Pallbearers were Corey Young, Chase Hatton, Steve Young, Jager Young, Taylan Arvin and Josh Haught.

Wilma Jean Calmes

    Wilma Jean Calmes, age 95, of Windermere, Florida, formerly of Irvine, Kentucky, departed this life peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at her home.
    Wilma was born on October 7, 1926, in Ravenna, Kentucky to the late Shade and Maude Landrum Combs.
    In addition to her parents, Mrs. Combs was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Calmes; and a sister, Helen Eacret.
    Wilma was a graduate of Irvine High School. She was employed at the Bluegrass Army Depot for over 20 years until her retirement in 1976.
    Survivors include her daughter, Jo Ellen Dawson (John); two grandchildren, Phillip Jason Puckett and Stephanie Puckett; seven great grandchildren, Claudia Holstein, Ayden Baker, Phillip Jason Puckett Jr., Stephanie Puckett, Layla Bland, Isaiah Duty and Izabelle Puckett; a brother-in-law, Howard Calmes; three nieces, Sarah Estes, Judy Adams and Jane Martin Calmes; along with numerous other extended family members to miss her and mourn her passing.
    A graveside service for Wilma Jean Calmes was conducted on Friday, November 12, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, Kentucky with Brother Paul Groves officiating. The family received friends on Thursday, November 11th from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. at the Lewis Home for Funerals in Irvine.
