Anthony L. "Tony" Walters, age 61, departed this life on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at the Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester, Kentucky.
Tony was born on August 29, 1960, in Irvine, Kentucky to the late Fred and Lois Estes Walters.
Survivors include three sisters, Phyllis Bullock, Michelle McCarty, and Sharon Brandenburg (Greg); seven nieces, Amber Osborne, Alicia Osborne, Kristen Walters, Jaylyn Call, Katara Mason, Hailee Osborne, and Autumn Osborne; and five nephews, Alexander Osborne, Tucker Bullock, Caleb Walters, Zachary Call, and Landon Osborne.
Funeral services for Anthony L. "Tony" Walters will be conducted on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the Lewis Home for Funerals chapel with Brother Sherl Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Walters Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Gary Woosley, Steve Walters, Vernon Brooks, Derek Brooks, Kenny Joe Woosley, and Tucker Bullock.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to his memorial fund.

Georgia E. Walton Barker, age 90, born August 18, 1931, departed this life for her Heavenly home Monday, February 14, 2022. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
She was a member of the South Irvine Pentecostal Church of God. She loved God and spending time with her family. She was an avid quilter.
Mrs. Barker was the daughter of the late Luther and Viola Robertson Walton and was the wife of the late Silas H. Barker.
She is survived by 13 children: Elizabeth A. Freeman of Beattyville; Cathy Shepherd (James Richardson) of Mt. Vernon;
Frances V. Walsh of Rockledge, Florida;

32 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 16 great, great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, James W. Walton and Charles F. Walton; three stepdaughters, Norma L. Walton (Jim), Provie M. Kirby, and Mary L. Shrader (Rodney); and four sons-in-law, Billy Freeman, Jr., Gerald R. Walsh, Martin Bryant and Ralph Brinegar.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, February 18, 2021, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ethan McKinney and Bro. Greg King officiating. Burial was at the Walton Cemetery. Visitation was held Friday from 11:00 a.m. to service time at 1:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Jason Brinegar, Anthony Tubbs, Hayden Brown, Chad Tubbs, Kyle Embree, John Brinegar, Michael Owen Barker and Hunter Parks.

Theodore Ray Witt, 100

Theodore Ray Witt, age 100, of Louisville, formerly of Irvine, Kentucky, departed this life on Monday, February 14, 2022, at the Forest Springs Health Care Facility in Louisville.
Ray was born on August 18, 1921, in Irvine, to the late Arthur and Stella Witt. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II and served in the Atlantic, North Atlantic, Ireland, Gibraltar, Wales, as well as in the invasion of Sicily. In addition, Ray served in the Central Pacific during the invasion of Iwo Jima and participated in the occupation of Japan. He received the following medals and battle stars for his service: American Theatre Campaign, European-African Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign (1 battle star), Asiatic Pacific Theatre Campaign (3 battle stars), Occupation of Japan, Campaign and Service Victory Medal World War II, and Good Conduct Medal. After his military service he returned to Irvine, married and raised his family. Ray retired after 30 years of service from the Lexington Blue-Grass Army Depot, where he worked as an electronic technician branch supervisor in the Statistical Evaluation Branch, Directorate for Quality. He was a member of River Drive Christian Church, where he served in various capacities, such as Elder, Sunday school teacher, and song leader.
He was previously a member of the First Baptist Church in Irvine, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school superintendent, teacher, and song leader. His passion was music, and he loved singing and playing the harmonica. He was a member of Builders for Christ, a men’s Christian fellowship organization, which he faithfully attended and served as song leader for many years.
Along with his parents Ray was also preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Eunice; a son, Danny R. Witt; a granddaughter, Heather Witt; parents, sisters, Alma and Opal Witt; and brothers, Chester, Kenneth, Estill, Frank and Eugene Witt.
He is survived by his daughter, Janie Stone (Ryan); a granddaughter, DeAnna Neal (Brian); two great grandchildren, Shelby and Jacob Neal; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Witt (Estill) and Julia Witt (Frank); and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Theodore Ray Witt were conducted on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at River Drive Christian Church with Brother Paul Groves officiating. Interment followed at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Family received friends from 12:00 Noon until the time of services at 2:00 p.m. at the Church.

Russell Ely Smith Jr., age 32, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at the University Of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
He was born January 16, 1990, in Mt. Sterling to Russell Smith Sr. and Morena Durham Smith.
Mr. Smith is survived by his grandparents, Charles and Devonda Durham; a son, Billy Estes; two brothers: Trenton Durham and Travon Durham; a sister, Desiree Sharp (Andrew); and his Honey Dog.
He was preceded in death by his parents Russell Sr. and Morena Smith; and a brother, Blake Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 20, 2022 at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel in Irvine. Family will visit Saturday from 5 till 8 p.m., and friends may visit from 6 till 8 p.m.. Burial will be in the Spencer Ridge Cemetery in Lee County.
Pallbearers are Travon Durham, Trenton Durham, Jeffery Riddle, Joe Riddle, Phillip Stevens, Lonnie Brandenburg, Billy Estes and Ethan Adams.

Hubert Chaney, age 86, of Clay City, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022.
He was born in Irvine on December 6, 1935 to Steve and Eliza Walters Chaney. He was self-employed till he retired.
Mr. Chaney is survived by one son, Jesse Chaney; one daughter, Shyra Smith; one daughter-in-law, Tasha Chaney; one sister, Gay Goforth; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Steve and Eliza Walters Chaney, two sons, Criss Chaney and Steve Chollect; three brothers, Ralph Chaney, Chris Chaney, and Chester Chaney; and five sisters, Hoytt Handy, Mary Ruth Howell, Faye Plunkett, Virginia Arthur, and Bessie Bols.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at the Grayson Funeral Chapel in Irvine with Bro. Kenny Wasson officiating. Friends visited Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. till time of service at 1:00 p.m. Burial followed in the McIntosh Cemetery.

Breck Lewis Powell, age 84, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Marcum & Wallace Hospital, Irvine, Kentucky.
He was born April 29, 1937 in Irvine, Kentucky to the late Lawrence and Dorothy Crowe Powell.
Survivors include one son, Gary Powell (Robin); a daughter, Sherrie Powell (Mike); a brother, Tommy Powell; three sisters, Mae Tibbs, Brenda Smith, and Carolyn Powell; and three grandchildren, Courtney Worley (Jonathan), Laura Haydon (Brandon), and Jordan Powell.
Services Monday will be held February 21, 2022, 2:00 p.m., at Irvine First Church of God by Rev. Eric Patrick. Visitation Monday after 10:00 a.m. Burial in Dunaway Cemetery with John Cox, James Ruffin, Rusty Neal, Darrell Sargent, Mike Abney, and Justin Abney serving as pallbearers.

Constance “Connie” Bush Duvall passed away at the age of 95, on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Cova Estill Duvall.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca June Abney (Terry Gale), one step-granddaughter, Aleathea LaTerah Abney-Wells (Michael Wells); a god-granddaughter, Madisyn Bailie Rae Green; her son, David Estill Duvall (Ladonna Sue); a grandson, Timothy Estill Duvall (Adrienne Cates); two great granddaughters, Josephine and Neallie Duvall; a granddaughter, Samantha Sue Cox (Jacob Cody); and great granddaughters, Adeline Sue and Evelyn Lou Cox.
Services were at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 18, 2022, at the Leon Pace Memorial Chapel at Scobee Funeral Home by Pastors Ernest Harris, Jim Rediford, and Gary Willoughby. Burial followed in the Winchester Cemetery.
Visitation was Thursday, February 17, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Leon Pace Memorial Chapel.

Naomi Frances Stamper Rawlins, age 87, of Selma, Alabama, formerly of Irvine, Kentucky, departed this life on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at her home in Alabama.
Born on January 8,1935 in Irvine, to the late Lonnie and Dessie Baker Stamper, Naomi was a retired schoolteacher, artist, basket weaver, and a member of the Irvine Lions Club for several years, as well as a member of the Plantersville Christian Church. She also sang in the Rice Station Christian Church choir and was a member of the Irvine Dulcimer Club.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rawlins is also preceded in death by her husband, David “Doug” Rawlins; one brother, Charles Richard Stamper; and a sister-in-law, Rose Stamper.
Survivors include one sister, Peggy Crowe (Leo) of Opelika, Alabama; three nephews, Berry Leo Crowe (Barbara), Roy Clay Crowe (Susan), and Charles Bryant Crowe (Lori), all of Alabama; one niece, Mary Frances Reid (Dennis) of Georgia; as well as many other relatives and friends to miss her and mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Naomi Frances Stamper Rawlins will be conducted on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lewis Home for Funerals with many of the Crowe family officiating. Interment will follow in the Cobb Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the service time of 1:00 p.m.

Joseph Allen Stacy, 75, of Richmond, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022 at his home.
Joseph was born on November 5, 1946 in Estill County, and was the son of Dennis and Helen Johnston Stacy, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a retired truck driver, having worked for Barger’s Towing. He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of the Harris Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Sue Culton Stacy of Richmond; two sons, Steve Allen Stacy (Teresa) of Richmond, and Justin Scott Stacy, of Berea; one granddaughter, Ava Elizabeth Stacy; three sisters, Joan Murphy, Jen Collins, and Jane Bishop, all of Irvine; and several nieces and nephews.

Etta J. Sparks, age 91, of Irvine, Kentucky, departed this life on Friday, February 11, 2022, at the Baptist Health Facility in Richmond.
Etta was born on October 28, 1930, in Irvine, to the late Park and Louann Henry Johnson. She was a loving mother, homemaker and a member of the Westside Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, Miss Sparks was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sparks Jr.; two sons, Robert Wayne Sparks and William J. Sparks; one brother, J.C. Johnson; a sister, Jean Covey; and a grandson, Steven Sparks.
She is survived by a son, Michael Edward Sparks Sr. (Tabatha); one sister, Irene Gillespie; three grandchildren, Lisa Michelle Sparks, Michael Edward Sparks Jr., and Christopher J. Sparks; three great grandchildren, Ryan and Kannon Sparks; and Jordan Hamm; a daughter-in-law, Norma Sparks; along with several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Etta J. Sparks will be conducted on Monday, February 14, 2022, in the Lewis Home for Funerals chapel with Rev. William P. Covey officiating. Diane Lynn Kash, age 72, of Woolly Ridge in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ralph Kash of Irvine; two sisters, two brothers, and three stepdaughters, all of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
There will be a memorial service and interment at a later date in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

James Edward Vivian, age 75, of Jeffersonville, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022.
He was born in Jeffersonville, November 29, 1946 to Virgil Clay and Susie Vivian. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a truck driver.
Mr. Vivian is survived by his wife, Dorothy Vivian of Jeffersonville; two sons: Marty Vivian (Kristi) of Jeffersonville and Monty Vivian (Teresa) of Irvine; five grandchildren, one great grandchild; a brother, Larry Vivian (Marcelle) of Florida; and a sister, Juanita Vandgrift of Owingsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Susie Vivian; a granddaughter, Becca Vivian; four brothers, Tommy Vivian, Bud Vivian, Gary Vivian, and Carl Vivian; and three sisters, Pauline Hozerland, Francis Combs and Gin Corman.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel in Clay City with Bro. Johnny Hurt officiating and Military Rites. Donald Winkler, age 94 of Estill County, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022, at the Marcum-Wallace Memorial Hospital in Irvine.
Donald was born on June 22, 1927, in Estill County, Kentucky and was the son of the late Greeley and Mattie Warford Winkler. He was a retired brick mason and had previously resided in Ohio, before moving back to Estill County.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandi Postle of Ohio; two sisters: Thelma Weidle of Carlisle, Ohio; and Barbara Crawford of Lexington; one grandson and four great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, A. J. Winkler and Billy Winkler.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home in Irvine, Kentucky. Burial will follow in the Winkler Family Cemetery at Crooked Creek. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday morning, at the funeral home in Irvine.

Eva Dean Collins, age 74, of Stevens Avenue in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022, at her home following a long illness.
She was born August 30, 1948 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Flemon and Nannie Lunsford Dozier. She was homemaker and her hobbies included fishing, yard sales and going for car rides in the country. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman D. Collins; and is survived by one son, Sherman “Wayne” Collins of Irvine; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruth Sparks, Blanch Sparks, Ruby Sparks, and Lillie Mae Luster; and four brothers, John, Claude, Charlie and Lester Barrett.
No services are scheduled at this time.

Roger Keith Marcum, age 59, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022.
Born in Estill County, Kentucky, on December 18, 1962, he was the son of the late Onley and Alweena Ratliff Marcum. He was a mechanic.
Survivors include ex-wife, Desiree Smith; a stepdaughter, Shelly Gilliam; a granddaughter, Makayla Atkins; nine siblings, Edward Earl Marcum, Loretta Lynn Curtis, Helen Perkins, Patricia Guth, Johnny Marcum, Phyllis Jean Rigsby, David Coleman Marcum, Donna Kay Clasen, and Onley Christopher Marcum; and several extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, LaShonda Daniel; and five siblings, Steven Allen Marcum, Lisa Rennae Bittany Marcum, Tonya Gale Marcum, Tina Marie Marcum, and Rachel Marcum.

Carolyn Sue Gross, age 74, of River Drive in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022, following a long illness.
She was born November 1, 1947 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Clyde and Emma Bailey Dixon. She was a graduate of Irvine High School and dedicated her life to caring for others. She will be missed by family and her many friends she considered family.
Carolyn Sue is survived by one sister, Billie Jean Cawood of Madison County; one brother, Howard Donnie Dixon of Estill County; a niece, Stephanna Cawood (Pete Figgis); a nephew, J. C. Cawood (Debbie); a great-niece, Ashley Cawood; a great-nephew, Jed Cawood; and seven great, great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Russell Gross; and her brother, Larry Dixon.

Anthony Wayne Newton, age 72, of North Court Street in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022, at the Baptist Health in Richmond, following a short illness.
He was born October 9, 1949 in Hamilton, Ohio and was the son of the late Tracy Newton and Jessie Stamper Gilbert. He was a mechanic and had lived in Estill County most of his life.
Mr. Newton is survived by his wife, Sandra Horn Newton; four daughters: Ladonna Harrison (Doug), Estill County; Crystal Newton, Georgia Newton, both of Madison County; and Sarah Newton of Laurel County; two sons: Anthony Wayne Newton, Jr. and Matthew Newton, both of Laurel County; one sister, Melanie Miller of Estill County; and one brother, William Gilbert of Estill County;
11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, February 9, 2022, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Danny Neal officiating. Burial was at the West Irvine Cemetery. Visitation was held Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
