Edward Lee McIntosh, 71


Edward Lee McIntosh

    Edward Lee McIntosh, age 71, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022.
    He was born at Millers Creek, Estill County, Kentucky, on Sunday, April 9, 1950, to Leroy McIntosh and Jean Warner McIntosh.
    Edward resided in Kentucky and Pennsylvania before moving and finally retiring in Hendersonville. He was a member of the United States Navy, where he served in the Vietnam War. Edward was a member of Veterans of Foreign War and the American Legion. He loved working on model cars.
    Edward was preceded in death by his grandparents, Simpson and Florence Walters McIntosh; and Edward and Maude Rison Warner.
    He is survived by his wife, Robin Speed McIntosh; daughters, Shannon Aubin (Rich), Christine Coletti (Anthony), Meghan McIntosh, and Rebecka McIntosh (Ed Ritz), all of Pennsylvania; parents, Leroy McIntosh and Jean Warner McIntosh; and brothers, Kenneth Darrell McIntosh (Tonya) of Kentucky and Paul McIntosh Audrey of North Carolina. Edward is also survived by ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
    A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.

Bertha Wiseman

    Bertha Wiseman, 89, widow of Lyndsey Wiseman, Jr., passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at her home in Winchester, Kentucky.
    Born in Perry County, Kentucky, on February 21, 1933, to the late Floyd and Mallory Jones, she was a seamstress.
    Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Wiseman; a granddaughter, Renee Wallace; a great granddaughter, Aidrianna Southard; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
    In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Larry Wiseman; and grandsons, Daryl Wiseman and Larramy Crouch.
    Services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Scobee Funeral Home by Pastor Warren Rogers. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of services. Burial will follow in Stone Family Cemetery.
    Pallbearers will be Marshall Devary, Rodney Wiseman, Gary Bradshaw, and Kenneth Bradshaw.
    Honorary pallbearers will be Dorvin Bush, Ronald Gene Embs, Herman Wiseman, and Charles Noble.

John Riddell

    John Riddell, age 73, of Bainum Road, New Richmond, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at home following a short illness.
    He was born on March 13, 1949, in Estill County and was the son of the late James "Junebug" Riddell, Jr. and Eva Mae Farthing Riddell. He was a drywall worker all his life.
    Mr. Riddell is survived by his wife, Geneva Frances Blanton Riddell, one daughter, Melisa (Ruhstaller Lisa), one son, Gregory Arthur Riddell, and a daughter-in-law, Tandy Renee Lay Riddell, all of Clermont County, Ohio; one sister, JoAnn Riddell Bernard of Estill County; two brothers: Eddie Wayne Riddell of Estill County and Jimmy Allen Riddell of Berea; a sister-in-law, Linda Riddell of Berea; nine grandchildren: Heather Lindsey (William), Brandon Ruhstaller, Kourtney Riddell, Kendra Riddell, Gavin Riddell, Gracie Riddell, Caitlyn Riddell, Lilly Riddell and Oliver Riddell; eight great grandchildren: Todd Lindsey, Kyeleigh Lindsey, Easton Ruhstaller, Olivia Latham, Korra Latham, Ayden Liming, Asher Liming and Ellie Mae Riddell; and a special friend, Dave Nichols.
    He was preceded in death by his son, John Allen Riddell; and his sister, Glenna Faye Riddell Carroll.
    Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, April 4, 2022, 11:00 a.m., at Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Sydney Sparks officiating. Burial services will be at the Pea Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2022, from 6 to 9 p.m., at Warren F. Toler Funeral Home.
    Dinner will be served immediately following the burial service at Calvary Baptist Church at 21 Glory Street, West Irvine.
    Pallbearers are Greg Riddell, Gavin Riddell, Brandon Ruhstaller, Jim Riddell, William Lindsey and Dave Nichols.
    Honorary pallbearers are Eddie Wayne Riddell, Walsa Blanton, Edward (Dude) Erkenbrecher and Eric Banks.

Mildred Babb Farthing

    Mildred Babb Farthing, age 88, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022.
    Born December 30th, 1933, she is preceded in death by her parents, Laura Dixon Babb and Virgil Babb; sisters, Arzella Kirby, and Louise Carroll; and brothers, Thurman, Hargis, and Bobby Gene.
    Mildred is survived by her baby brother, Glendon Babb.
    She was born in Irvine, Kentucky and met her husband of 34 years, Edward Farthing, there. They had four children, Michael Edward Farthing (Dana), Randall Lee Farthing, Pattie Farthing Stubblefield (David), and Timothy Ray Farthing (Colette).
    All were involved with her care and appreciate the mother that she was. Mildred, prided in her family and made sure they were cared for always.
    Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years.
    She valued her friends and her grandchildren: Alison Campbell (Allen), Sarah Ingersoll (Matt), Ryan Benjamin Farthing, and Amanda Burton (Luke); and great grandchildren: Reagan Campbell, Emmett Ingersoll, and Eliza Ingersoll).
    Mildred enjoyed her family most of all things in her life.
    She worked for Sylvania and Roses Department Store where she made many good friends and truly enjoyed her work there. Mildred enjoyed shopping and eating out with her family and always liked being surrounded by them. She was always there for her family and that is what will be missed most, her steadfastness.
    The funeral will be at Scobee Funeral Home at the Leon Pace Memorial Chapel; visitation will be Friday April 1st, from 10-11 a.m. with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at the Winchester Cemetery where Mildred will be laid to rest next to her husband Edward Farthing.
    Pallbearers are Ryan Farthing, David Stubblefield, Allen Campbell, Matt Ingersoll, Luke Burton, and Steve Craycraft.

Helen Louise Woolery

    Helen Louise Woolery, age 91, of Mockingbird Lane in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Monday, March 28, 2022, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital, following a short illness.
    She was born June 25, 1930, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Daw Miller, Sr. and Mary Kate Edmonson Miller. She was a homemaker and a member of the Rice Station Christian Church. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
    Mrs. Woolery is survived by three daughters: Inet Riddell (Estill), Coreen Woolery, and Wanda Woolery, all of Estill County; one son, Wayne Woolery (JoAnn) of Estill County; a daughter-in-law, Mary Crouch (Alfred) of Estill County; three sisters: Mary Logston, Judy Lynch, and Loretta Crowe, all of Estill County; four grandchildren: Amy Townsend (John), April Ann Bebout (Bill), Janet Riddell, and Jessica Cockrell (Jack); five great grandchildren: Logan Aaron Townsend, Emily Baker, Victoria Grace Townsend, Shawn Norton, and Tabitha Goins; and one great, great grandchild, Leyna Faye Norton.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jerry Lee Woolery; seven sisters, Cleo Bishop, Joyce Riddell, Viola Bishop, Ruth Norton, Bonnie Riddell, Dolly Crowe, Curlean Riddell; one brother, Daw Miller, Jr.; and an infant brother, Herchel B. Miller.
    Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 30, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Joe Hall officiating. Burial will be at the West Irvine Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 29th from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
    Pallbearers were Pepper Hardy, Mark Hardy, Butch Hardy, Michael Hardy, Alfred Couch, Shawn Norton and Logan Townsend.

Dottie Swords

    Dottie Swords, age 69, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022, at her residence.
    She was born April 2, 1952, in Kenton County to David and Norma Monk. She was a homemaker and a member of the Irvine Apostolic Church.
    Mrs. Swords is survived by her husband, Herman Swords; a son, Herman Swords II; a daughter, Crystle Smith (David); three grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Wright (Jerry) and Linda Glass.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Tiffany Swords; and a brother, Michael Monk.
    Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 28, 2022, at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel in Irvine, with Bro. Ivan Smith officiating. Friends visited Monday from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial followed in the Swords Cemetery in Irvine.

    Jimmy Ray Snowden, age 60, of Irvine, Kentucky, departed this life on Friday, March 18, 2022, at the Norton Hospital in Louisville.
    Born on April 12, 1961, in Hamilton, Ohio, Jimmy was the son of the late Ray Douglas and Margaret Woolery Snowden. He was a member of the White Oak Church of God
    Survivors include his loving wife Royetta "Etta" Ratliff Snowden; two sons, Steven Ray Bertotto (Mary) of Richmond, and Jimmy Lee Bertotto of Pikeville; two grandchildren, Kaleb and Kadence Bertotto; one sister, Cynthia Ann Snowden of Beattyville; two aunts, Louise Wiseman (Raymond) of Irvine, and Ernestein McQuinn (Finley) of Richmond; along with two cousins, Anthony Snowden of Georgia and Angela Snowden of Richmond.
    Funeral services for Jimmy Ray Snowden will be conducted on Saturday, March 26,2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lewis Home for Funerals with Reverend Jerry Rose officiating. Interment will follow in the White Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m., Saturday, until the time of services at 2:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
    Pallbearers will be Joey Ashcraft, Ricky Ashcraft Jr., Gregory Dean Ratliff, Lester Ratliff, Jimmy Issacs, and Tim Charleton.

    Patsy Lewis Samples, 91, wife of Charles W. Samples, died Friday, March 18, 2022 at her home in Lexington, Kentucky.
    She was born in Irvine, on March 17, 1931, the daughter of Thomas E. and Cornelia Wilson Lewis. She was a graduate of Irvine High School and Transylvania University. Patsy was a member of Providence Christian Church in Nicholasville and a former member of Irvine First Christian Church where she served as choir director and organist for many years. Patsy enjoyed the time she spent teaching music at the Estill County High School. She was a former partner in the Lewis Funeral Home, where she was also the organist. Most recently Patsy lived in Lexington to be close to her family where she enjoyed the activities of her grandchildren.
    Survivors in addition to her husband are her daughter, Cindy and husband Dr. Michael McKinney of Lexington; a granddaughter Elise and husband Dr. Parker Craig of Lexington; a grandson, Michael Lewis McKinney of Lexington, nephews, Tom Huckleberry (Rosemary) of Danville and Ed Huckelberry of Louisville. She is also survived by one sister-in-law whom she loved dearly, Brenda Hardy (Butch) of Irvine.
    Private funeral services will be held with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Irvine.
    Pallbearers are Tom Huckleberry, Ed Huckleberry, Mark Birchfield, Michael Hardy, Junior Estes, and William Park Hardy.
    In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Providence Christian Church, 101 Providence Way, Nicholasville, KY 40356.

Ronald Lee Neal

    Ronald Lee Neal, age 59, of Collins Avenue in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at his home following a long illness.
    He was born September 19, 1962, in Hamilton, Ohio and was the son of the late Jesse Neal, Jr. and Betty Tipton Neal. He was a carpet layer and had lived in Estill County for the past 25 years.
    Mr. Neal is survived by three sisters: Peggy Frazier, Carolyn Farley, both of Estill County; and Edna Kay Shuler of Lee County.
    Memorial services are not scheduled.
