Kenny Ray Kelly, 55
|
Kenny Ray Kelly, age 55, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022 at the Baptist Health Hospital in Richmond.
He was born November 21, 1966 in Irvine to Raymond and Margaret Kelly. He worked in construction.
Mr. Kelly is survived by a daughter, Summer Kelly of Lancaster; two grandchildren: Brooklyn and Jaylen Moore; two brothers: Wayne Kelly and Raymond Gene Kelly, both of Irvine; and two sisters: Lisa Kelly and Jacqueline Coffey, both of Irvine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Margaret Kelly.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel in Irvine. Friends may visit Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m.. Burial will be in the Pea Ridge Cemetery.
Sharon Lois Tuttle, 75

Sharon Lois Tuttle, age 75, of Noland Creek Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022, at the Baptist Health in Richmond, following a short illness.
She was born February 19, 1947 in Clark County and was the daughter of the late Avery and Loreen Spencer. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethel Christian Church. She had lived in Estill County most of her life.
Mrs. Tuttle is survived by her husband, Benjamin Franklin Tuttle; two sons: Glenn Franklin Tuttle of Estill County; and James Daniel Tuttle (Rebecca) of Madison County; one brother, Jerry Dale Spencer of Clark County; and four grandchildren: McKenna Ellen Tuttle, Tayla Lily Tuttle, Avery Elizabeth Tuttle and Sarah Hope Tuttle.
She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Dale Tuttle; her sister, Sue Salyer; and two brothers, Eddie and Donnie Spencer.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 2, 2022, 11:00 a.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Curtis officiating. Burial will be at the Rose-Freeman Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 1st from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Deron Tuttle, Rick Tuttle, Jeff Freeman, Dewey Freeman, Paul Tuttle and Lee Freeman.
Edgar Rice McGee, 90

Edgar Rice McGee, age 90, of Bradbury Point Drive in Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022, at his home following a short illness.
He was born September 26, 1931 in Estill County and was the son of the late Millard and Bessie Noland McGee. He was retired from the Ford Motor Company and had owned a lawn service. He was a member of the Waco Baptist Church.
Mr. McGee is survived by his wife, Gracie Rogers McGee; one daughter, Joyce Ann Gay of Monroe, Michigan; two sons: Brian McGee of Monroe, Michigan; and Steven McGee of Silver Spring, Florida; one sister, Bertha Peters of Estill County; one grandchild, Melissa Slater; and two great grandchildren: Davin Slater and Brylee Slater.
He was preceded in death by one grandchild, Matthew McGee; four sisters, Shirley Taylor, Dorothy Lainhart, Mayfree Richmond, and Naoma Tribbey; and seven brothers, Estill, Roy, Gilbert, Joe, Chaney, Bruce and James McGee.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 3, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at the Waco Baptist Church with Bro. David Johnson officiating. Burial will be at the South Irvine Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the Waco Baptist Church.
Pallbearers are Hershell Sparks, Toby Honacker, Billy Ray Hughes, Jay Gross, Kenny Sewell.

Gregory Trent of Campton, Kentucky, husband of Marcella Tharp Trent, departed this life Saturday, May 28, 2022 at the age of 54 years.
He was a son of the late Ray and Ethel Johnson Trent, born in Lexington, Kentucky on December 9, 1967. He was in the lawncare service industry and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Trent is survived by his wife, Marcella Tharp Trent of Campton; two daughters, Danielle Trent (Allan Combs) of Stanton and Laura Plowman of Irvine; six grandchildren; one brother, Jeff Trent (Crystal Trent) of Trent; and four sisters, Sharon Ritchie of Beattyville, Charlene Brewer (Gary) of Pine Ridge, Nancy Young and Nellie Rose (Paul), both of Irvine, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Ethel Johnson Trent; and one brother, Jimmy Trent.
He also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Porter and Son Funeral Directors in Campton, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Nikki Horn officiating. Burial will be in the Trent Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers; Jim Trent, Samuel Ritchie, Jeff Trent, Allan Combs, Cynthia Ritchie and Doug Bellamy.

Margie Rea Cahal, age 88, of Elm Street in Ravenna, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the Baptist Health in Lexington, following a long illness.
She was born May 31, 1933 in Irvine and was the daughter of the late Jake and Lillie Neal Wiseman. She was a homemaker and a former employee of the Estill County School System. She was a member of the Mt. Carmel Christian Church, the Estill County Homemakers and the Estill County Garden Club. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
Mrs. Cahal was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Burke Cahal; and is survived by two daughters: Madonna Sue Cahal of Winchester and Mona Cahal Henry of Ravenna; one son, Jackie Burke Cahal, Jr.(Marisa) of North Carolina; one sister, Norma Hall (Gayle) of Richmond; two brothers: J. B. Wiseman (Janice) of Irvine and Donald Wiseman of Berea; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Philip Cahal; and two sisters, Betty Jean Tipton and Patricia Henry.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 1, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Chris Winkler officiating. Burial will be at the Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to service time at 1:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Wilma Lois Young, 76

Wilma Lois Young, age 76, of Barnes Mountain in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, following a long illness.
She was born March 2, 1946, and was the daughter of the late Robert and Lillie Angel Cox. She retired from Kroger where she worked in the deli, and she had lived in Estill County all her life.
Wilma is survived by two sons: Jason Young (Rebecca) and
Jackie Young (Heather), both of Estill County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Cox Jr.; and her grandchild, Dustin Young.
Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday at 12:00 Noon at the Estes Cemetery.

Robert “Bob” Palmer Jr., 91

Robert “Bob” Palmer Jr., 91, finished his journey on this earth on Friday, May 27, 2022.
He was born in Estill Co. on October 15, 1930, to the late Robert and Bessie Vaughn Palmer Sr. He was retired from Palmer Engineering where he was the Marketing Director and was a member of the Winchester First Church of God on Colby Road. He also proudly served in the United States Army during World War II.
Mr. Palmer was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Crowe Palmer of 62 years.
He is going to be missed by his children, Diana Bealert (Eddie), David H. Palmer, and Ramona Cundiff (Jerry); grandchildren, Matt Bealert (Michelle), Michelle Patterson (Shannon), Dale Bealert (Leigh Ann), Sherri Kennedy, Kevin McCord (Cara), Emily Cundiff, and Lauren Cundiff; eleven great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild, Ava June Stearns; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by one infant son, Randal Robert Palmer; brothers, Cecil, Ray, JT, Edgar, Shelton, and Linville Palmer; and one sister, Della Mae Hampton.
Services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at the Leon Pace Memorial Chapel at Scobee Funeral Home by Pastor Allan Hutchinson. Burial will follow in the Fielder Cemetery in Estill County. Pallbearers will be grandsons and Willie Palmer.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at the Funeral Home.

Gene Allen Charlton, age 56, of Estill County, Kentucky, born August 15, 1965, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022, after a short illness.
He is survived by a daughter, Ashley Applegate; two sons: Jacob Charlton and Tyler Charlton; one brother, Michael Charlton (Cindy); four sisters: Jenny Hedges, Sandra Reed, Darlene Young (Earl Jr.), and Lori Johnson (Harold); several nieces and nephews; and one special niece, Charlena Hardy.
Gene was preceded death by his mother, Irene Wolfinbarger Charlton; three brothers, Donald, Frank, and Jackie Charlton; and two sisters, Patricia and Debra Charlton.
He was laid to rest at the Fox Cemetery on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.

Elmer Venice Bicknell, age 79, of Locust Branch School Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at his home following a short illness.
He was born July 5, 1942 in Estill County and was the son of the late Leonard and Addie Mae Richardson Bicknell. He was a retired farmer and had lived in Estill County all his life.
Mr. Bicknell is survived by his wife, Grethel Isaacs Bicknell; two daughters, Peggy Young of Estill County; and Jennifer Stephenson (Eddie) of Madison County; one son: Robin Bicknell (Lisa) of Estill County; two sisters, Eva Ramsey and
Joyce Webb, both of Madison County; five brothers: Ernie Bicknell of Ohio; Kenneth Bicknell, Carl Bicknell, both of Madison County; Randol Bicknell of Pulaski County; and Gary Bicknell of Estill County; four grandchildren: Hannah Eaton, Matthew Young, Chelsea Bicknell and Leonard Young; and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Faye Day; and his brother, Darrell Bicknell.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 27, 2022, 11:00 a.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Kindred Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 26th from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Victor Logan Whitaker, 87, widower of Minnie Jo Horton Whitaker, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at his home in Wilmore, Kentucky.
He was born in Jessamine County on May 27, 1934, to the late Virgil May Whitaker and Harriett Pearl Sharpe Whitaker. He was a heavy equipment operator, a veteran of the United States Army, as well as an elder and trustee at High Bridge Union Church.
Mr. Whitaker is survived by two sons, Billy Whitaker (Shannon) and Morris Whitaker; daughters, Victoria Puckett (Jeff), Angela Waldrop, and Melissa Bright; fiancée, Beulah Horton; brother, Ray Whitaker; sisters, Doris Adams and Mary Lyle Cartwright; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Victor is preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Jo Whitaker; brother, James Whitaker; and sister, Virgie Hager. Services were at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 23, 2022, at Betts & West Funeral Home in Nicholasville with Dr. Glenn Spann officiating. Burial followed at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.
Casket bearers were Lucas Puckett, Clay Baber, Shane Brothers, Josh Lay, Lee Estepp, and Robert Houp.
Honorary bearers were Bert Walker, Clyde Carson, Richard Horton, and Leonard Edwards Jr.
Visitation will be from 1–5 p.m., Sunday, May 22nd at the funeral home.

Christine S. Newton, age 97, of Wisemantown Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022, at her home following a long illness.
She was born December 22, 1924 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Ruford and Grace Alcorn Sparks. She retired from Phillips Lighting and was a volunteer in her community. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She was a quilter and an avid reader. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
Mrs. Newton was preceded in death by her husband, Allen G. Newton Jr., and she is survived by two sons: Michael Newton (Rebecca) and Gary Newton (Lisa) both of Estill County; one daughter-in-law, Delores Newton of Estill County; five grandchildren: Joshua Newton, Justin Newton, Christopher Newton, Donald Keith Noble and Karen Dozier; two great grandchildren: Bethany Noble and Ashleigh Dozier; and two great, great grandchildren: Hadleigh Noble and Kallen Noble.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Ruford Newton; one daughter, Carol Newton; three sisters, Catherine Flynn, Armeda Newton and Eugenia Vere; and two brothers, Gordon and Delmas Sparks.
Private funeral services will be conducted at a later date.

Roger William Guidinger, 83

Roger William Guidinger, age 83, of Wildflower Ridge in Ravenna, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at his home following a long illness.
He was born December 15, 1938 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was the son of the late Sylvester John and Mildred Mudler Guidinger. He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam Era and was the former owner of the Bumper to Bumper Auto Center.
Mr. Guidinger is survived by his wife, Mary Quosig Guidinger; two daughters: Sherry Eldridge (Bill) of Ravenna; and
Dorothy Guidinger of Florida; three sons: William Guidinger (Tracey) of South Carolina; Scott Guidinger (Susan) of Tennessee; and Frank Guidinger of Ravenna; eleven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Curtis and Keith Guidinger.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Doris Wilson Fraley, 88

Doris Wilson Fraley entered into her heavenly reward with her Savior on Monday, May 16, 2022, at the age of 88. She was born August 22, 1933 in Irvine, Kentucky and retired as an executive secretary of General Electric Company in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Doris saw the good in everyone and was always quick to help those in need. She loved her family fiercely and often bragged about her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Pryse Leon Wilson; her mother, N. Pearl Wilson; brothers, William Earl Wilson and Wayne Leon Wilson; and a great grandson, Charles W. Oakes IV.
Those left to remember her and her heartwarming smile are her children, Chuck Oakes (Carol), Rick Oakes (Annette), and Mary Jane Lindahl (Dave); grandchildren, Richel Whisenhunt (Matthew), Melissa Ferrante (Ben), Chuck Oakes (Katie), Katie Kersey (Ryan), and Richard Oakes (Meagan); and her dear friend and caregiver, Rachel Johnson.
Her memory will also live on in the lives of Granny’s great grandchildren: Mason, Tanner, Natalie, Marcus, Mia, and River, along with step-great grandchildren, Brayden, Leeanna, and Briella. She is also treasured by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 22, 2022, at the Combs, Parsons, and Collins Funeral Home, 328 West Main Street, Richmond, with Bro. Chip Denief officiating. Burial followed at the Flatwoods Cemetery at Waco, Kentucky.
Visitation began at 2:00 p.m., Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
