Leonard Michael Holland

    Leonard Michael Holland, age 73, passed away Friday, July 29, 2022, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
    He was born on February 17, 1949, in Clark County to the late Leonard and Elva Calmes Holland. He was a retired contractor and was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in Vietnam.
    Mr. Holland is survived by his son, Chris Holland; his daughter; Kendra Hamilton (Steven); two grandchildren, Ava Marie Hamilton and Graham Douglas Hamilton; a brother, Harold Wayne “Hal” Holland (Marilyn); and two sisters; Camella “Millie” Evans (Carl) and Doris “Jeanie” Frazier (Paul).
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ernie Holland (Shirley).
    Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at the Winchester Cemetery (Layne Shelter).

Roger Clay Baker

    Roger Clay Baker passed away Monday, July 25, 2022 in Lexington, Kentucky, after a short illness.
    He was born in Powell County, Kentucky, on April 9, 1931 to the late James and Edna Combs Baker. He was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Roger was recognized for his military service through Honor Flight Kentucky in 2017. He attended Bowen First Church of God.
    Roger spent the last 27 years of his career working with Bluegrass RECC in Nicholasville. He was a Kentucky Colonel; a member of the Red River Museum and Genealogical Society, AmVets, and Senior Citizens Center.
    In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Frances Spencer Baker; and his siblings: Virginia Boyd, Ruth Morton, Glenn Ray Baker and Earl Baker.
    He is survived by his wife, Bettye Mastin Baker; and sons, Sherwin Clay and Sheldon David Baker.
    Roger's favorite title was Papaw. He leaves behind his pride and joys, grandchildren, Christina "Tina" Epperson (Brinton), Travis Baker (Heather), and Morgan David (Michael); great-grandchildren, Ethan Epperson (Sara Jane), Cherokee Baker (Keenan), Delaney Epperson, Curtis David, Kennedy McAlister, Haylee Baker, Garrett Clay Baker, Wade David, and Abigail Baker; and great, great grandchildren, Jackson Epperson and Waylon Baker.
    He is also survived by one sister, Betty Gentry; and special nieces, Glenna Gentry-Blythe and Janice Trent; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
    Funeral services were held Sunday, July 31, 2022, 2:00 p.m., at Davis & Davis Funeral Home in Stanton, with Bro. Brad Epperson, Bro. Bill Carpenter, and Bro. James Harold Combs officiating. Visitation was held Saturday 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial was in Stanton Cemetery with Travis Baker, Michael David, Ethan Epperson, Delaney Epperson, Garrett Clay Baker, Wade David, Shade Blythe, and Eddie Baker serving as pallbearers.
    Honorary pallbearers were Kennedy McAlister, Haylee Baker, Abigail Baker, Darren Baker, Marilyn Stutzenberger, Lewis Mastin, Lee and Norma Gossett, and Anna Marie Baker.

Wanda Marie Hamm

    Wanda Marie Hamm, age 75, a resident of the Irvine Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at the Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester, following a long illness.
    She was born September 12, 1946, in Irvine and was the daughter of the late Manford and Annie Johnson Overbay. Wanda was a homemaker and a former truck driver. She attended the Thomas Baptist Church and had lived in Estill County most of her life.
    Mrs. Hamm was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Hamm, and is survived by one daughter, Donna Boshers (Roger) of Berea; one son, Jeff Hamm (Molly) of Irvine; six grandchildren: Rusty, Kayla, Cory, Sarah, Kristi and Trevor; and 12 great grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Peggy Hamm; three sisters, Janie Nicely, Mildie Faulkner and Katharine Dennis; and four brothers, Doug, Ronald, Roy and Raymond Overbay.
    Funeral services were conducted Thursday, July 28, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rick Kirby officiating. Burial was at the Walton Cemetery. Visitation was held Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
    Pallbearers were Gene Murphy, Trevor Abney, Raymond Coffee, Dean Overbay, Robert Carrier, and Greg Hamm.

Charles Millard Turner

    Charles Millard Turner was born January 30, 1979, in Madison County, Kentucky, and departed this life Sunday, July 24, 2022, at his residence in McKee at the age of 43. He was the son of Leona Hampton Thomas of McKee and the late Charles Ambrouse Turner.
    In addition to his mother, Charles is survived by his wife, Rebecca McQueen Turner of McKee; and by his children, James Turner, Jonathan Turner, LeeAnna Turner, all of Irvine; Blake Holt and Logan Holt, both of McKee. He was blessed with a grandson, Asher Holt.
    Other survivors include his siblings, Erick Keith Turner (Ranae) of Bronston, Will Fox of Lexington, Shawn Callicoat of London, Amanda Gail Turner of Sand Gap, Laura Conrad (Danny) of Richmond, Jeannetta Stanley of Equador (Eric), Rhonda Gail Turner, and Joyce Rifenbark (Karl), both of Irvine; and his step-mother, Juanita Turner of Waco.
    Other than his father, Charles Ambrouse Turner, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Patience Hardy.
    Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at Lakes Funeral Home in McKee with Bro. Dudley Lynch officiating. Burial followed in the Ed Durham Cemetery.
    Pallbearers were Jonathan Turner, James Turner, Dillon Cromer, Shawn Hardy, Blake Holt, Logan Holt, Will Fox and Ivan McQueen.
    Honorary pallbearer was Eric Turner.

Elizabeth Ann Cooper

    Elizabeth Ann Cooper, age 82, wife of Ray Cooper, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022, at her home.
    A native of Clark County, Kentucky, she was born on September 17, 1939, to the late Taylor and Nannie Raker Rainey. She was a member of First Baptist Church and retired from the United States Forest Service, where she worked for over 40 years. Elizabeth was previously very active in the community, serving as chairman for Clark County Farm Bureau District 9, on the Clark County 4 H Council, the Extension Council and the Fair Board. She was also a lifetime member of the Clark County Saddle Club.
    In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, David Cooper (Malinda); grandsons, Taylor Cooper (Michelle) and Travis Cooper; great grandchildren, Trevor, Trinity, and Treyden Cooper; a sister, Brenda Freeman (Roy); a sister-in-law, Pat Rainey Gatewood; and several extended family members and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Garland Rainey.
    Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 25, 2022, at Scobee Funeral Home by Pastor Tony Stang. Burial will follow in Winchester Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until time of service.
    Pallbearers will be Taylor Cooper, Travis Cooper, Ed Logsdon, Roy Freeman, Belvin Brandenburg, Larry Muncie, Raymond Cooper, Marvin Cooper, and Michelle Turner.

Marcella Thomas Saylor

    Marcella Thomas Saylor, age 99, of Crittenden, Kentucky, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022, from complications from a stroke.
    She was born to the late Vernon and Nannie Dunaway Thomas on March 3rd/4th, 1923 in a log cabin on the family farm in Estill County, Kentucky.
    After retiring from the Hewitt Soap Factory in Dayton, Ohio, Marcella settled in Northern Kentucky where she designed beautiful flower beds, focused her artistic talents on making award-winning quilts, enjoyed Bluegrass gospel music, and spent time with family and friends laughing, traveling, and swapping stories. For the last nine years, she had the joy of living with her granddaughter’s family in Castle Rock, Colorado.
    Marcella is preceded in death by her daughter, Bonnie Schafer (Stewart); and siblings, Dorothy Massie, Raymond Thomas, Harry Thomas, Eugene Thomas, Jennings Thomas, Elwanda Pearson, and Vernon Thomas, Jr.
    She is survived by grandchildren, Kelli Eagle (Rick) and Kevin Langford (Jenny); great grandchildren, Cade Eagle, Ellie Eagle, and John Langford; sisters, Joyce Chambers and Sue Johnson (Richard); a son-in-law, Lee Schafer (Deanna); a step-daughter, Bobbie Jean Thompson and family; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
    The funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 24, at the Warren F Toler Funeral Home, Interment followed at the Turpin Cemetery, Winston. Visitation was held Sunday from 1-2 p.m.
    Pallbearers were Rick Eagle, Kevin Langford, Cade Eagle, David Brewer, Dennis Johnson, and Harry Thomas.

Jimmy Lynn Hall

    Jimmy Lynn Hall, age 60, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at the Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, Kentucky.
    He was born October 13, 1961 to Claude and Jessie Hall.
    Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Mary Hall of Irvine; five brothers: Timmy Hall, Billy Hall, Bryan Hall, Kelley Hall, Kenny Hall and a half-brother, Scotty Hall.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Jessie Hall; and a sister, Rebecca Hall.
    Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 24, 2022 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Irvine with Bro. Bill White officiating. Friends visited Sunday from 12:00 Noon till 2:00 p.m. Burial followed in the Griffin Cemetery in Irvine.
    In lieu of flowers, family asks that donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.

Raymond Gene Webb

    Raymond Gene Webb, age 91, of Nicholasville, Kentucky, formerly of Irvine, Kentucky, departed this life on Friday, July 22, 2022, at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
    Born on October 31, 1930, in Irvine, Kentucky to the late Leslie C. and Nannie Spicer Webb, Mr. Webb was retired from Sargent Greenleaf Inc. and from the Kroger Company. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. Raymond was of the Christian Faith.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gary Lee Webb; and four brothers, Leslie Webb Jr., Alben Webb, Winston Webb, and James Howard Webb.
    Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Wanda F. Gentry Webb; three children, Larry Ray Webb (Diane) of Jacksonville, Florida; Darrell Gene Webb (Joan) of Lancaster; and Barbara Faye Ayres (Bryan) of Marshall, Virginia; one brother, Paul D. Webb (Marbeth) of Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister, Virginia Kidwell (Donald) of Springboro, Ohio; five grandchildren, Darrell Gene Webb II, Amanda Marie Webb, Marie Nicole Kratzer (Kyle), Bryan Lee Ayres Jr. (Kyrsten), and Mason Grant Ayres; four great grandchildren, Adriyana Marina Ayres, Asher Talon Ayres, Tessa May Kratzer, and Kameron Ford Kidwell; along with many other relatives and friends to miss him and mourn his passing.
    Funeral services for Raymond Gene Webb will be conducted on Monday, July 25, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lewis Home for Funerals with Rev. Darrell Gentry officiating. Interment will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friend from 12:00 Noon until the time of services at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
    Pallbearers will be Bryan Lee Ayres Jr., Mason Grant Ayres, Kyle Gerick Kratzer, Darrell Gene Webb II, David Gentry, and Arlis Taylor.

    Dewey Bryne Stamper, age 86, of Dayton, Ohio; formerly of Irvine, Kentucky; departed this life on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at the Miami Valley Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio.
    Born on January 20, 1936, in Irvine, Kentucky to the late Roy and Zetta Hall Stamper, Dewey was a retired wire cutter for C & M Products.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Stamper and Roy Stamper Jr.; and one grandson, Anthony "Tony" Stamper.
    Survivors include three sons, Ronnie Stamper (Runa), Roger Stamper (Donelle), and Darrell Stamper (Wanda), all of Dayton, Ohio; seventeen grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren; three sisters, Delores McCullah, Judy Stamper, both of Irvine; and Charlene Rogers (James) of Stanton; and one brother, Ellis Stamper of Dayton, Ohio; along with many other relatives and friends to miss him and mourn his passing.
    Funeral services for Dewey Bryne Stamper were conducted on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the Cobb Hill Community Church with Rev. Mark Pearson officiating. Interment followed in the Cobb Hill Cemetery. The family received friends from 10:00 a.m., Saturday, until 12:00 Noon at Lewis Home for Funerals before leaving in procession to Cobb Hill Community Church.

    Ryder Isaiah James Durham, age 1, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022, at the Rockcastle Regional Medical Center in Mount Vernon.
    He was born May 18, 2021, in Lexington, to Cody Hollis McKinley Durham and Ciara Maleigha Gail Estes Durham. Ryder loved his sister and his puppies. He had a beautiful smile and loved to tease everyone with it.
    Ryder is preceded in death by maternal great grandfathers, James Miller and Glendon Estes; paternal great grandparents, Hollis and Sadie Durham, Bill and Betty Frary, and Shirley Caldwell.
    In addition to his parents, Ryder is survived by one sister, Emmalyn; maternal grandparents, Tony and Marie Estes of Irvine; paternal grandparents, Tommy and Andrea Durham of Brodhead; maternal great grandparents, Gail Miller and Dolly Estes; maternal aunts and uncles, Kaitlyn Estes of Irvine, Courtney Damrell of Berea, and Patrick Damrell (Cortney) of Berea; and paternal aunts and uncles, Thomas Durham (Star) of Stanford, Ashley Taylor of Brodhead, and Travis Durham of Brodhead. A host of cousins and friends also survive.
    Visitation was heald 5-9 p.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at Davis & Powell Funeral Home in Berea with funeral services at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday July 20th with Bro. Dale Smith officiating. Burial followed in the Estes Family Cemetery, 750 Round Mountain Road, Irvine. Pallbearers were Cody Durham, Tony Estes, Tommy Durham, and Tommy Emery.

Willie May Horn

    Willie May Horn, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at his home. He was the husband of the late Betty Lou Forbes Horn.
    Willie was born on March 15, 1934 in Estill County, Kentucky, and was the son of Sylvester and Cynthia Plowman Horn, both of whom preceded him in death.
    He first worked as a butcher at Uncle Charlie’s for seventeen years and later retired as a butcher from Thornberry’s Super Valu. Willie was a faithful member of Full Gospel Tabernacle where his son Rickey pastors. Willie enjoyed fishing, squirrel hunting, gardening, and watching westerns. He loved reading his Bible and teaching his children and grandchildren God’s Word, listening to gospel music, and driving the bus for his sons’ gospel singing group, The Gospel Troops.
    Survivors include four sons, Stevie Ray Horn (Betty Jean), Rickey Samuel Horn (Tina), both of Richmond; Gregory Scott Horn (Valta) of St. Joseph, Missouri; and Darren Keith Horn (Jennifer Leigh) of Richmond; two daughters, Kathy Marie Warner and Tabitha Ann Smyly (Bradley Scott), both of Concord, North Carolina; and one sister, Bernice Marcum. He was blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and has a great, great, grandchild on the way.
    In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Willie Alan Horn; seven brothers and four sisters.
    A funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the Full Gospel Tabernacle with Bro. Rickey S. Horn and Bro. Frankie Foster officiating. Burial followed in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church.
    Pallbearers were William Randy Dozier, Steve Alan Horn, Larry Chad Miller, David Jordan Horn, Christopher Scott Smyly, Chandler Shaun Horn, Charles “Jr” Horn, and Paul David Horn.
    The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to his great-nephew, Charles “Jr” Horn, for the love and support he showed to his uncle and the entire family, and to his nephew, David Horn for the love he showed his uncle.
