Norris Wayne Sparks, 74

Norris Wayne Sparks, age 74, of 2nd Street in Midway, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022, at his home.
He was born February 15, 1948 in Fayette County and was the son of the late Hargus and Ina McKinney Sparks. He retired from A-1 Insulation and was a Midway Volunteer Fireman. He had lived in Woodford County most his life.
Mr. Sparks is survived by one daughter, Keisha Woodrum; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Sparks and Hargus Victor Sparks.
Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, August 18, 2022, 12:00 Noon at the Estes Cemetery.

Paul “Anthony” Blevins, 46

Paul “Anthony” Blevins, age 46, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Anthony was born on May 6, 1976 in Lexington, to Brenda Blevins and the late Bobby Hardy. He was raised in Irvine and attended Estill County High School. Paul was formerly employed at Cumberland Truss Co. He enjoyed playing video games and fishing.
He is survived by his loving mother, Brenda Kay Blevins of Somerset; one brother, Jackie Lee Blevins of Somerset; a half-sister, Keisha Hardy of Irvine; three aunts, Debbie Larkin of Somerset, Lois Boyer (Steve) of Seymour, Tennessee; and Lisa Rose of Sevierville, Tennessee; two uncles, Gary Blevins of Berea and Michael Rose of Somerset; and several special cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Hardy.
The family will have a Memorial service at a later date.

James Bentley Scrivner, 85

James Bentley Scrivner, age 85, of South Winn Avenue in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at his home following a long illness.
He was born August 13, 1936 in Estill County and was the son of the late Cora Scrivner Noland. He was a former employee of Bunt Gross Chevrolet & Oldsmobile and later worked for Meade’s. He was a member of the Pine Grove Pentecostal Holiness Assembly where he served as a Deacon for 25 years.
Mr. Scrivner was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Stepp Scrivner; and he is survived by two daughters: Deborah K. Watson (James) and Patrina G. Stidham (Tony), both of Estill County; four sisters: Anna Brock (Jack) of Tennessee; Nancy Purlee (Mike); Molenda Pennington and Judy Thompson, all of Indiana; two brothers: Billy Noland (Marva) and Jessy Noland, both of Indiana; four grandchildren: Miranda Conner, Brandon Watson, Erica White and Leah Stidham; nine great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Melinda Scrivner; one brother, Dan Noland; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 15, 2022, 7:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Sidney Sparks and Bro. Tony Stidham officiating. Burial will be at the West Irvine Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Brandon Watson, Brad Conner, Mark White, James Logan Conner, Logan Dean Conner, and Landon Conner.
Honorary pallbearers are Bryan Watson, Judah White, and Bentley Conner.
Linda Regina Raider, 65

Linda Regina Raider, age 65, of Bertha Wallace Drive in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Monday, August 8, 2022, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, following a short illness.
She was born October 22, 1956, in Madison County and was the daughter of the late Allen and Lois Jean Noe Barnes. She was a caregiver and was of the Pentecostal faith. She was involved in many different clubs at the Irvine Health and Rehab Center, and she had lived in Estill County all her life.
Linda is survived by three sons: Jeremy Allen Barnes,
Thomas Dewayne Raider II, and Eric Lee Raider, all of Estill County; two sisters: Anita Osborne of Estill County; and Deborah Ewen of Clark County; and several grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Dewayne Raider.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 12, 2022, 12:00 Noon, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Terry Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at the Raider Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 10:00 a.m. to service time at 12:00 Noon at the Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were David Wasson, Stanley Merrell, Steve Osborne, Gary Robertson, Jeff Noe, Kaleb Haling, and Andrew Sharp.
Tracy Benton Tipton, 80

Tracy Benton Tipton, age 80, of Scott Hill Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, following a long illness.
He was born March 17, 1942, in Estill County, a son of the late Bill Dardy and Beulah Trimble Tipton. He was a conductor with the CSX Railroad and attended the Ravenna Nazarene Church. He had lived in Estill County all his life.
Mr. Tipton is survived by his wife, Sharon Kay Noland Tipton; two daughters: Cathy Witt Pyle (Rick), Madison County; and Connie Lois Owens (Ray), Ohio; a son, Tracy Benton Tipton Jr., Madison County; two sisters: Wavelene Embs, Florida; and Sherry Kinnard, Fayette County; one brother, Jim Tipton, Salvisa, Kentucky; six grandchildren: Seth Witt, Amber Witt, Josh Williams, Brandon Williams, Tracy Logan Tipton, and Cody Boian; and several great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Lane.
Memorial services will be held on a later date.

Laura Faye Means, 84

Laura Faye Means, age 84, passed away Monday, August 8, 2022 in Clay City, Kentucky.
She was born December 25, 1937 in Estill County, Kentucky to the late Sam Todd Snowden and Rosa Belle Crowe Snowden.
Survivors include one son, Herbert Harold Means; four daughters, Pamula Hollon (Roger), Delilah King (Darrel), Vickie Gail Lettis, and Rhonda Louise Means; as well has 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Harold Means; a son, James Alvin Means; a daughter, Marcia Lynne Buckland; and two grandchildren, James Michael Todd Means and Brian Scott Buckland.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home,777 West College Avenue, Stanton, with services Sunday, August 14th with James Stewart officiating and grandsons Michael Means, Brandon Means, Ryan Means, Jeffrey Robinson, Christopher Robinson, and James Todd serving as pallbearers; and Charles Vancleve, Jamie Buckland and Kayla Harvey serving as honorary pallbearers. She will be buried in Means Brooks Cemetery in Estill County, Kentucky.
Bobbie Jean Samples, 89

Bobbie Jean Samples, age 89, of Reims Road in Lexington, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022, at the Harlan, Kentucky, ARH Hospital following a short illness.
She was born October 16, 1932 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Marcum and Lilly L. Tipton Covey. Bobbie worked for many years at Parker Seal and later retired from employment at Saint Joseph Hospital.
Known for her quick wit and willingness to care for others she was beloved by all who knew her. She will be missed and most certainly never forgotten.
She is survived by two daughters: Diane Kelly Robellard and Jessica Carmickle, both of Lexington; one son, Walter Randall Samples of South Carolina; nine grandchildren: Nathan Clowers, Dana Mills, Richard Kelly, Garit Samples, William Samples, Morgan Samples, Nicole Snow, Dax Carmickle and Derrick Carmickle; and six great grandchildren: David Allen, James Harris, Rachel Clowers, Ashley Walters, Ryley Kelly and Dax Carmickle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Roscoe Samples; and a daughter, Merletta Lunsford.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, August 13, 2022, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Milton Blane Dixon, 76

Milton Blane Dixon, age 76, of Lafayette Circle in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022, at the Baptist Health in Lexington following a long illness.
He was born April 1, 1946, in Fayette County and was the son of the late Roy and Myrtle McQueen Dixon. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was retired from Kentucky Utilities and was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church. He had lived in Estill County all his life.
Mr. Dixon is survived by his wife, Sandra Richardson Dixon; his daughter, Charlotte O’Bryan of Estill County; one sister, Carolyn Miller of Madison County; two brothers: Linville Dixon and Roy “Dink” Dixon, Jr., both of Estill County; and one grandchild, Carson O’Bryan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Doug Dixon and Jeff Dixon.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 10, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Sherl Thomas officiating. Burial will be at the South Irvine Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Donald Richardson, Larry Miller, Kevin Miller, Carson O’Bryan, Grant Miller, Josh Dixon and Marvin Dixon.
Honorary pallbearers are Dale King, Terry White and Bo King.

Larry Rose, age 37, of Irvine, Kentucky, departed this life on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at his home.
Larry was born on May 13, 1985, in Irvine, to the late Willie Rose and Lorene Willis Rose.
In addition to his father, Mr. Rose also preceded in death by his fianceé’, Tiffany Alexander; his daughter, Brooklyn Sierra Joe Rose; three brothers, Cecil Rose, Mitchell Rose, and Bill William Rose; a sister, Janet Rose; and a sister-in-law, Mindy Rose.
Survivors include his mother, Lorene Willis Rose; six brothers, Michael Rose (Gina Neal), Donnie Rose (Nancy), Kenneth Rose (Florence), Finley Rose (Lizzie), Paul Rose (Nellie), and Donald Rose; four sisters, Michelle Jenkins (Ricky), Bonnie Rose (Donnie), Christine Rose (R.C.), and Katherine Willis (Hympsel); numerous nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends to miss him and mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Larry Rose will be conducted on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Lewis Home for Funerals with Brother Jerry Rose officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Family Cemetery in Irvine. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 6th from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be, Ricky Jenkins, Gary Rose, Matthew Logsdon, Eddie Frazier, Herman Willis, and Cash Willis.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to his memorial fund.
Donna F. Allen, 72

Donna F. Allen, 72, wife of Beverly Quinton "Bev" Allen, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
Born in Winchester, Kentucky, on December 16, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Boone and Dorothy Abney Faulkner. She was a retired clerk and a member of First Baptist Church of Winchester. Donna was also a member of Life Changers Mission Group at Central Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, playing games on her phone, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her loving husband of 51 years, she is survived by two daughters, Susan Michelson (Kurt) of Windham, New Hampshire; and Joy Capra (Stephen) of Winchester; four grandchildren, Skye Michelson; Quinton, Savannah, and Tanner Rivers; a sister, Sue Bishop (Dick); a sister-in-law, Lee Faulkner; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Barbara and Ralph Boone “Butch” Faulkner, Jr.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at the Leon Pace Memorial Chapel beside Scobee Funeral Home. Pastor John McCallum of First Baptist Church of Hot Springs, Arkansas, where they were members for 27 years, will be officiating. Burial will follow in Clarmont Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Kurt Michelson, Stephen Capra, Quinton Rivers, Tom Fouts, Whitney Thompson, Tanner Rivers, Mike Johnson, and Frank Howard.
Family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until time of service.

Wesley Franklin Williams, age 89, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, following a long illness.
He was born December 26, 1932, in Estill County and was the son of the late Lewis and Ethel Young Williams. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and worked for 35 years at General Motors in Ohio. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Phyllis Brown Williams; two daughters: Jenny Williams of Whitley City, and Crystal Williams Iranmanesh (Ayra) of Carmel, Indiana; one son, Mike Williams (Sandi) of Nashville, Tennessee; two half-sisters: Tuffy Davenport of Somerset, and Imogene Marshall of Richmond; two half-brothers: Douglas Williams and Jimmy Lee Williams, both of Irvine; and three grandchildren: Michel Williams, Matthew Williams and Kamron Wesley Iranmanesh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Barbara Johnson Williams; his sister, Mayfra Isaacs; and his brother, Robert Samuel Williams.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 9, 2022 12:00 Noon, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home with Bro. Lloyd Woolery officiating. Burial will be at the Young and Dunn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home.

David Todd Harrison, age 32, of Eades Drive in Irvine, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022, at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville following sudden illness.
He was born May 4, 1990, in Madison County and was the son of David Timothy Harrison and the late Wendy Ann Maher Harrison. He was a construction worker and had lived in Estill County most of his life. He was an Organ Donor.
Mr. Harrison is survived by his father, David Timothy Harrison; his grandparents, David and Joyce Harrison; two brothers: Bergin Tuttle, IV (Shavonna) and Michael Scott Tuttle; his uncle, Wes Harrison (Sherry); his aunt, Lisa Harrison; one niece, Micah La-Shaye Tuttle; one nephew, Bergin Tuttle, V; and his girlfriend, Aleah Smith.
No memorial services are scheduled at this time.

Mary Edna Richardson, age 87, of Ravenna, Kentucky, departed this life on Monday, August 1, 2022, at her home.
Born on March 5, 1935, in Irvine, Kentucky, Mary was the daughter of the late Omer and Fannie Colter Charles.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Richardson is preceded in death by two husbands, Homer Goosey and Lloyd Richardson; two sons, Stevie Goosey and Dwayne Goosey; two grandsons, Jeramy Goosey and David Hoover; three stepsons, one step-grandson; three sisters, Claudia Issacs, Betty Ann Hall, and Louise Charles; and one brother, Beverly Gene Charles.
Mrs. Richardson is survived by four daughters and three #1 sons-in-law, Teresa Sparks, Marcia Hoover and Howard, Kimberly McKinney and Dayton, and Ellen Reece and Todd; four stepdaughters, Norma Stone, Charlotte Gamble, Donna Sowder, and Patty Riddell; one stepson, Jason Richardson; five sisters, Juanita McKinney, Zoba Campbell, Barbara Dykes, Linda Goosey, and Glyndenna Morefield; and one brother, Wendell Muncie.
Also surviving are two grandchildren that she raised, Shannon Goosey and Penny Goosey; and several other grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren; along with many other relatives and friends to miss and mourn her passing.
Graveside funeral services for Mary Edna Richardson were conducted on Friday, August 5, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Goosey and Richardson Cemetery in Ravenna, Kentucky. Brother Jerry Rose officiated.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
