Oliver “Glenn” Smith, age 60, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Monday, October 24, 2022.
He was born May 20, 1962 in Estill County to Farris Daniel and Mary D. Fox Smith. He was a plumber and a member of the Drip Rock Baptist Church.
Mr. Smith is survived by his mother, Mary Smith of McKee; two sons: Daniel Smith of McKee and Donnie Smith (Phyllissa) of Irvine; a daughter, Donna Richardson (Greg) of McKee; six grandchildren: Hallie, Austin, Katareena, Dalton, Brynleigh, and Brycen; a brother, Anthony Smith (Karen) of McKee; three sisters: Mildred Richardson (Bill) of Irvine, Jewell Isaacs (Lowell) and Bonnie Wilson, both of McKee.
He was preceded in death by his father, Farris Smith; three brothers: Bruce Smith, Cleaborn Smith, and Cecil Smith; and three sisters: Bernice Smith, Deanna Smith and Porshia Smith.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at the Sparkman Cemetery at Drip Rock with Bro. John VanWinkle officiating.
Pallbearers are Austin Smith, Dalton Smith, Tim Osborne, Jeff Mason, Kenneth Townsend, and Charles Mason.

Joshua Franklin Profitt, 37

Joshua Franklin Profitt, age 37, of Irvine, Kentucky, departed this life on Friday, October 21, 2022, at the Compassionate Care Hospice Center in Richmond, Kentucky.
Joshua was born on November 15, 1984, in Richmond, Kentucky to Vonda Tipton Jones and Charles Profitt Jr.
Mr. Profitt was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charlie and Flossie Profitt; and his maternal grandfather, Frank Hurley; along with two uncles, Timothy Jenkins and John Tipton.
Along with his parents, Joshua is survived by his fiancée, Jessica Williams; three children, Gavin Trent Profitt, William Bryce Adams, and Zoe Nikole Adams; one grandson, Jackson Mullins; three sisters, Amberlee Root (Aaron), Tiffany Helton (Josh), and Kellie Barnes (Travis); his grandfather, Pearl Raymond Tipton; and his grandmother, Loretta Hurley; his aunt, Sandy Broadbent; uncle and aunt, David and Tena Pelfrey; uncle and aunt, Brian and Missy Profitt; uncle, Greg Profitt, and a cousin, Alicia Pelfrey; along with numerous other nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends to miss him and mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Joshua Franklin Profitt will be conducted on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lewis Home for Funerals with Reverend Sandy Broadbent and Aaron Root officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family has chosen cremation after the services.
James David Goins, 63

James David Goins, age 63, died at his home Thursday, October 20, 2022.
He was born in Richmond, Kentucky, April 17, 1959, to the late James Browning Goins and Anna Mae Walling Goins Haenschke. James enjoyed fixing things especially cars and was an excellent auto body mechanic. He also loved antiques and horses. James will truly be missed by his children.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sheila King and Teresa Goins.
James is survived by his four children, Taylor Dawn Goins of Richmond; Chandler Lawson Goins, Kennedy Brooke Goins, both of Berea; and Tabitha McKenzie Goins of Irvine; and one brother, Manuel Goins of Richmond.
There are no services scheduled at this time.
Cremation has taken place. Interment will be in the Berea Cemetery.

Louwanda "Kay" Lutes, age 72, widow of Jesse Lutes Jr., passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2022.
She was born April 11, 1950, to the late Dills and Alma Barnes Berryman in Winchester, Kentucky.
Mrs. Lutes is survived by her children, Earnie Snowden (Charity), Jennifer Tingle (Dave), Kenny Snowden (Christina) and Sonny Snowden (Debbie); seven grandchildren, two great grandsons, three sisters and four brothers.
Services will be Monday, October 24, 2022, at the Ark of Mercy Church of God at 1:00 p.m., with Bro. Gene Johns presiding. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. till the hour of service. Burial is in Clarmont Memorial Gardens.

Mary E. Tipton Tincher, age 73, of Clay City, Kentucky, departed this life Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at the Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester, Kentucky.
She was born August 1, 1949 in Irvine to Oliver and Myrtie Neal Tipton.
Mrs. Tincher is survived her husband, James Tincher; one son, James Tincher; one daughter, Peggy Strange; one brother, Ray Tipton; three sisters: Maudie Crawford, Edith Estes, and Ann Proffit; and one grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Myrtie Neal Tipton and one son, George Tincher.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel in Clay City. Friends may visit Saturday from 10:00 a.m. till time of service.
Ethelene Sparks Henry, 72

Ethelene Sparks Henry, age 72, entered her eternal home on Monday, October 17, 2022, following a short illness.
She was born December 4, 1949, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Charlie and Affie Rice Sparks. She was a homemaker and a member of the Crystal Holiness Church. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
Ms. Henry is survived by one daughter, Samantha Ashcraft of Madison County; one son, David Henry of Estill County; two sisters: Suda Sparks and Faye Rose, both of Estill County; five brothers: Don Sparks of Clark County, Sammy Sparks, Arnold Sparks, Charles Sparks, and Raymond Sparks, all of Estill County; four grandchildren: Tamara Ashcraft, BreAnna Ashcraft, Micah Ashcraft and Bryce Henry; and one great grandchild, Presley Reay.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Sparks; and one brother, R.J. Sparks.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 20, 2022, 6:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursday.
Teresa May Tipton Covey, 67

Teresa May Tipton Covey, age 67, of Ravenna, Kentucky, departed this life on Monday, October 17, 2022, at her home.
Teresa was born on September 24, 1955, in Irvine, Kentucky, to the late James and Mary Brinegar Tipton.
Mrs. Covey was a longtime member of the Turning Point Apostolic Church. She was the owner and operator of Companions Corner Pet Grooming Salon.
In addition to her parents, Teresa is preceded in death by her loving husband, Leon Covey; and one sister, Judy Profitt.
Survivors include her four children, James Leon Covey, Chris Covey (Darla), Leonna Covey, and John Michael Covey; one brother, Ricky Tipton (Tammy); one sister, Sheila Fleming (Joe); five grandchildren, Alexander, Ariana, and Adaleigh Covey; and Austin and Brittany Philapy; and two great grandchildren, Evangeline and Stryder Philapy; along with numerous nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends to miss her and mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Teresa May Tipton Covey will be conducted on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Turning Point Apostolic Church. Brother Larry McIntosh will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Covey Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the services from 12:00 Noon until the time of funeral at 2:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be James L., Chris, and John Covey; Stephen and Robert Tipton; Michael McIntosh, Joe Profitt, and William Horn.

Robert-Arve Shade Pearson, died on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at the age of 29 years old.
He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on February 17, 1993. He is the son of Neva Spencer Pearson, Jeffersonville, Indiana and Winchester, Kentucky; and Robert Pearson, Beavercreek, Ohio, the grandson of the late John Shelt and Marge Orvie Toler Spencer, Winchester; and the nephew of Bonnie Sue Spencer, Jeffersonville, Indiana & Winchester; John S. Spencer, Nicholasville; and Marla Brown, Dallas, Texas; brother of Johnna SharlaSue Embry (Adam), New Albany, Indiana; and uncle of his niece, Esme Elvira Embry, New Albany. He also has three cousins: Andrea Michelle Peterson (Travis), (children: Henry and Liam) Papillion, Nebraska; Jonathan W. Spencer, Winchester; and Maxim C. Spencer, Nicholasville. He has two special dogs, Shadow and Benny, and one special crested gecko, Tilly. He also leaves behind on his mother’s side a large family of great aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends.
He graduated from Beavercreek High School, Beavercreek, Ohio, in 2011. He earned two Associate of Arts degrees, one in sociology and the other one in IT networking from the Bluegrass Community and Technical College, Lexington. He was on the Dean’s List every semester and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He earned from Bluegrass Community and Technical College, certificates for Security + Prep, Net + Prep, Computer Tech Basic, Cisco Networking, Computer Technician, and CIT Fundamentals. He participated in the National Cybersecurity League – Cyber Skyline and achieved over 50 percent of the points for his team during the competition. He earned the Software Guild certificate in Web Development Bootcamp – Java language. And, he passed the CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification. He was employed by the Yum! Brands, Inc. of Louisville, Kentucky, as an IT Specialist.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, October 22, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at the Scobee Funeral Home in Winchester, Kentucky with Rev. Warren Toler officiating. Visitation was held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Burial was at Clarmont Cemetery. He was laid to rest beside his Papaw and Mamaw, whom he was named after.
Pallbearers were Brad Clem, Jonathan Spencer, Lynn Toler II, George Johnson, Johnathan Jones, and Richard Aaron Johnson (Louisville, KY).
Although he is no longer physically here, he will live in the hearts of those who loved and cherished him forever.
Wesley Edmonson, 74

Wesley Edmonson, age 74, passed away Friday, October 14, 2022 at his residence.
He was born February 21, 1948 in Irvine, Kentucky, to Price and Dorothy Camden Edmonson. He was a mason.
Mr. Edmonson is survived by his fiancée, Francis Bishop; a son, Wesley Junior Edmonson; two daughters, Melissa Ann Collins and another; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a brother, Floyd Edmonson.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Henry; and a brother, Bidge Edmonson.
A graveside service was held at the Trent Cemetery Wednesday, October 19, 2022.

Darrell Slone, 81

Darrell Slone, age 81, husband of 64 years to Dixie Lou Slone, passed away Friday, October 14, 2022, at The Terrace Nursing & Rehabilitation Facility in Berea, Kentucky.
Darrell was born October 11, 1941, in Jackson County, Kentucky, to the late Lonnie and Jaley Phillips Slone. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish. Darrell was a hard worker, spending 34 years employed at Dresser Industries. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Darrell was of the Baptist faith.
Other than his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by two brothers, Shade Slone and Bill Slone.
In addition to his wife Dixie, Darrell is survived by one son, Darren Slone (Brenda) of Berea; two daughters, Lonna Newman (Danny) of Irvine, and Tammy Carol Slone of Berea; four grandchildren, Rodney Combs, Amanda Combs, Christopher Isaacs, Kallie Isaacs; and three great grandchildren, Marcus Cervantez, Daisy Isaacs, and Easton Blair.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 17, 2022, at Davis & Powell Funeral Home, 616 Chestnut Street, Berea, with Bro. Ralph Shepperson officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Lick Cemetery. Visitation was held 6-9 p.m., Sunday, October 16th at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are John W. Coffey, Marcus Cervantez, Tubby Sowers, Dale Potter, Farley Robinson, Chris Isaacs, and Danny Newman.

Joanna Rose was born November 5, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio and departed this life Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville at the age of 72. She was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Mary Lillie Rose.
She is survived by her children, Robert Joe Grigsby Jr (Angela) of Evansville, Indiana; Travis Holton (Jessica) of Irvine, David Allen Holton of London, and Matthew Perry Holton of Richmond; and by her significant other of many years, Joe Swafford of London. She is also survived by three sisters, Nora Mae McWilliams, Betty Katherine Teater, both of Miamisburg, Ohio; and Deborah Charlene Creech of Beaver Creek, Ohio. She was blessed with one grandson, eight granddaughters and four great grandsons.
In addition to her parents, Joanna was preceded in death by a son, Michael Lee Holton; a grandson, Lucas Aaron Holton; and by her siblings, William Howard Rose, Arnold David Rose, Lillie Frances Stiver, and Marilyn Bernice Mink.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m, Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Lakes Funeral Home in McKee, with Bro. Ronald Rose and Bro. Greg Deaton officiating. Burial followed in the Rose Family Cemetery, Happy Top Road.
Pallbearers were Travis, David, Matthew & Jacob Holton; Robert Grigsby and Ben Plowman.

Michael Shane “Moonshine Mike” Stallings, age 46, of Patsy Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, October 14, 2022, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, following a long illness.
He was born January 5, 1976, in Jasper, Indiana and was the son of Anthony Roger Stallings and the late April Lynn Lyons Brisson. He was a master distiller, tattoo artist, copper worker, musician, and woodworker. He was a United States Army veteran, and he had lived in Estill County for the last 20 years.
Mr. Stallings is survived by his wife, Sondra Gail Stallings; one daughter, Madeline Carey, and one son, Hendrix Briggs, both of Michigan; four stepsons: Corey LeMaster, California; Tyler LeMaster, Steve Goosey, and Zachary Goosey, all of Estill County; one sister, Amanda Dazley, Ohio; two brothers: Patrick Stallings and Scott Stallings, both of Michigan; one step-brother, Joey Brisson, Michigan; his step-father, Joe Brisson, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 20, 2022, 11:00 a.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Scott Rogers officiating. Burial will be at the Cobb Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 19th from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Wallace G. Hatton, 76

Wallace G. Hatton, age 76, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Mount Sterling, Kentucky.
Born in Powell County, Kentucky, on April 1, 1946, he was the son of the late Omer and Hazel Profitt Hatton. He was retired from Link-Belt Cranes.
Survivors include four children, Carolyn Hatton, Sherry Sea, Connie Russell, and Ronnie Hatton; nine grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Huff and Trisha Hailperin; and several extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his brother, Rev. Don Hatton.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 17, 2022, at the Winchester Cemetery Layne Shelter.

William Ray "Billy" Burkhart, 87

William Ray "Billy" Burkhart, age 87, of Irvine, Kentucky, departed this life on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
Mr. Burkhart was born in Winchester, Kentucky on March 23, 1935, to the late Floyd and Bert Carmichael Burkhart. He was a member for over 50 years of the River Drive Christian Church in Irvine and a member of over 60 years of the Winchester Masonic Lodge #20.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby, Gerald, and Wilbert Burkhart; and two sisters-in-law, Mamie and Ada Burkhart.
Survivors include his loving wife, Joy Ann Lee Burkhart; one son, Tim Burkhart (Missy); one grandson, Will Burkhart; and a sister-in-law, Juanita Burkhart; along with several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends to miss him and mourn his passing.
Graveside funeral services for William Ray "Billy" Burkhart will be conducted on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at the Oakdale Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Brother Scott Jones will be officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of departure to the cemetery at 1:45 p.m. at the Lewis Home for Funerals. Masonic graveside services will be conducted at the cemetery by Winchester Lodge #20 and Irvine Lodge #137.
Susie Mae Powell Dixon, 81

Susie Mae Powell Dixon, age 81, of Anne Street, Irvine, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 10, 2022.
Susie was born June 1, 1941 in Duluth, Madison County, Kentucky, to the late Sallie and George Powell. She was a homemaker and had lived in Estill County most of her life.
Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Johnny Dixon; and an infant son, Earl Ray Dixon. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Grace Scenters, Edith Marie Goosey, and Ruby Powell.
She is survived by her daughter, Johna Michelle Dixon; two sisters, Ethel Willis and Lullie Dixon; and a sister-in-law, Francis Dixon. Many nieces and nephews survive her as well, including two special nieces, Patricia Henry and Agnes Dixon who were always there for her day or night. Susie also leaves behind her beloved cat Bandit.
Susie was an exceptional homemaker who loved to sew, cook and can. She made beautiful quilts and delicious candy and pies; especially fried apple pies. She loved cooking for family and friends, and there wasn’t anything she couldn’t cook.
Graveside services will be conducted by Rev. Jerry Rose on Thursday, October 13, 2022, 12:00 Noon, at the Alexander Cemetery in Ravenna, Kentucky. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Johnny, and baby son.
Pallbearers will be Paul Goosey, Jerry Ray Dixon, Franklin Dixon, Jr., Gene Dixon, Jr. Spicer, and Josh Jones.
Honorary pallbearers are Glenn Tipton and Joey Hicks.
