Anna Rose Morehead, 88
|
Anna Rose Morehead, age 88, of Maple Street, Stanton, Kentucky, entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester.
Born in Campton, Kentucky, on August 12, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Forrest Cable and the late Monna Lovelace Cable.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Cable of Campton; her two adored sons: David Bryan Morehead and Anthony Scott Morehead, both of Stanton; and lastly, two brothers-in-law, Rodney Morehead and Marvin Clemons.
A graduate of Wolfe County High School, she went on to become a student at the University of Kentucky acquiring many achievements in her youth such as a Kentucky State Representative to the National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago, Illinois in 1952.
After marrying her loving husband of 57 years, the late Eugene Morehead, they served as faithful members of the Stanton Baptist Church where Anna Rose held many leadership roles such as organist, pianist, Sunday School teacher, choir director and vocalist. She and her husband also worked alongside each other in the Campton, Jackson and Stanton dry cleaners for 43 joyful years.
Anna Rose served as a fluent member of her community as Secretary and Treasurer of Wolfe County Board of Education and a staff member of Hearne Funeral Home in Stanton where she played the piano for funeral services in her retirement years.
Anna Rose was a leader in any endeavor she ever did, she was instrumental in starting the first band at Powell County High School, began working in 1953 for D.I. Hobbs Insurance Agency as an Office Manager, was a former member of the Wolfe County Women’s Club, and was the former co-owner of Boone Forest Shop at Natural Bridge State Park. She was an avid garden and flower garden enthusiast as well as an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed her puppy Bella whom she loved very much; reading, music, UK Sports, Kentucky basketball, and caring for all her family and friends.
She is survived by one cherished son, Gary Morehead of Stanton; two grandsons, Jonathan Morehead (Lori) of Winchester and Nicholas Ross Morehead of Stanton; two great granddaughters: Olivia Donathan and Bianca Morehead; three sisters-in-law: Phyllis Cable, Miriam Smallwood (Talmadge) and Wanda Morehead Clemons; one daughter-in-law, Lana Morehead and family; one niece, Kim Graham of Campton; one nephew, Don W. Clemons of Thomaston, Georgia; several great nieces and nephews; and her loving caretaker, Sharlene Stevenson.
Visitation will be held at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue in Stanton, Kentucky from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2023 with the funeral service officiated by Bro. Bill Boldt immediately following at 7:00 p.m.
Burial will be at Stanton Cemetery, officiated by Bro. Kim Rose with Trevor Faw, Michael Noble, Joey Watson, Don Clemons, Kevin Graham, Hondo Hearne and Tim Blakey serving as active pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers are Darlene and Gordon Bellamy, Ruth Hall, Bob and June Schoae, Sharlene Stevenson, Jenny and Robert Crowe and the members of Stanton Baptist Church.
Pairelee Hardy Angel, 87

Pairelee Hardy Angel, age 87, of Richmond Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
She was born May 7, 1935, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Millard and Hallie Mae Ebson Johnson. She was a homemaker and attended the Holiness Church. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
Mrs. Angel is survived by one daughter, Maggie Oliver of Irvine; three sons: Orville Wayne Hardy, James Lee Hardy (Cheryl), and Cecil Hardy (Celina), all of Irvine; 16 grandchildren: Lois Brinegar, David Oliver, Charlena Hardy, Michelle Bowlin, Sheri Grace, Shannon Hardy, Kevin Hardy, Angela Estes, Lori Hardy, Daniel Rose, Keisha Hardy, Steven Richardson, Scott Plowman, Kim Tipton, Casey Hardy, and Chynna Hardy; and several great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren for a total of 53 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Leon Hardy and Harlan B. Angel; three sons, Donald Ray Hardy, Gary Hardy, and Bobby Hardy; seven brothers and sisters, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 3, 2023, 12:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Sidney Sparks and Bro. Phillip Smith officiating. Burial will be at the Hardy Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 12:00 Noon.
Pallbearers are David Brinegar, Dallas Bowlin, Kevin Hardy, John Buckland, Gary Grace, and Mason Grace.
Timothy Matthew Tipton, 46

Timothy Matthew Tipton departed this life Friday, April 28, 2023 in Winchester, Kentucky at the age of 46.
He was born in Winchester July 21, 1976 to Larry and Phyllis Jacobs Tipton. Mr. Tipton was a custodian for EKU.
He is survived by his mother, Phyllis Jacobs Tipton; two sons, Justin Lee Tipton (Sydney) and Jacob Larry Tipton; one daughter, Teresa Nichole Tipton; one sister, Karen Brooks (Vernon); two brothers, Austin Tipton (Sherry) and Larry Tipton (Pam); four nephews and one niece along with several other family members and friends to mourn his passing.
Mr. Tipton was preceded in death by his father, Larry Tipton; and one son, Eric Austin Tipton.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday May 3, 2023 at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel in Irvine. Friends may visit Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. till time of service. Burial will follow in the Tipton Cemetery.
James David Gumm, 80

James David Gumm, age 80, of Clay City, Kentucky, departed this life on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at his residence.
He was born June 28, 1942 in Booneville, Kentucky, to Crit and Ethel Chaney Gumm.
Mr. Gumm is survived by one son, George Gumm; one step-son, Billy Smith Jr.; two daughters, Katherine Gumm and Lisa Clark; two sisters, Velma Brewer and Susie Fligar; and 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Crit and Ethel Gumm; his wife, Helen Smith Gumm; one son, Jeffery Gumm; two brothers, Herbert Brewer and Louie Brewer; three sisters, Nancy Henderson, and Ruth Blu and Annalee Ott.
There are no services planned at this time.

Terry Lee Raider, age 63, of Irvine, Kentucky, departed this life on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at the VA Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
Terry was born on February 22, 1960, in Irvine, Kentucky, to the late Tommy and Nancy Newton Raider. In addition to his parents, Mr. Raider is preceded in death by his son, Wesley Raider; two brothers, Thomas Raider and Timmy D. Raider; along with one sister-in-law, Linda Raider; and two brothers-in-law, Scotty Hamm and Barry Witt.
Survivors include, his brother, Bradley Scot "Scooter" Raider and fiancée Marie Neal; along with five sisters, Tonya Louise Hamm, Tammy Kay Will, Trina Rena Rawlins, Theresa Reanetta Cornett (Michael), and Tracy Lynn Richardson and fiancé James Tipton. There are numerous nieces and nephews and relatives and friends to miss him and mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Terry Lee Raider will be conducted on Monday, May 1, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Lewis Home for Funerals with Brother Marvin Neal officiating. Interment will follow in the Raider Family Cemetery in Irvine. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. on Monday until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers for Mr. Raider will be Thomas and Eric Raider, Jeremy Barnes, and other family members.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to his memorial fund at the funeral home.

Jacquelyn Denise "Jackie" Keith, 54, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023 at her home.
She was born August 28, 1968 in Winchester, Kentucky, to the late Jack Shepherd and Judy Keith Craycraft. She was a nurse and a member of Ark of Mercy Church of God.
Survivors include two daughters, Kelli Barber (Michael) and Courtney Keith; three brothers, Johnny Pergram, Jeff Pergram, and David Shepherd; a sister, Tammy Pifer; and four grandchildren, Melody Barber, Susie Barber, Dottie Barber, and Aiden Shrout.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents who raised her, Cap and Bertha Keith; parents, and sons, Gregory Dean Ratliff Jr. and Cody Ratliff.
Services will be held at Wells Funeral Home, 777 West College Avenue, Stanton, on Monday, May 1, 2023, 1:00 p.m., by Pastor Janice Claypool and Kenneth Metcalf. Visitation will be held Monday 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in West Bend Cemetery with Michael Barber, Barry Bryant, Johnny Pergram, Jeff Pergram, Jeffrey Pergram Jr., Jay Moore, Carson Pergram, and Elisha Bryant serving as pallbearers.

Danielle Marie Harkins, age 24, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was born June 29, 1998, in Cincinnati and was the daughter of Charity Hall Harkins and the late Bradley Harkins. She was a graduate of the Estill County High School.
Survivors in addition to her mother include her son, Christopher Bennie Epperson, III of Estill County; one sister, Christian Harkins of Madison County; and her grandfather, Roger Dale Harkins.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 2, 1 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 6 to 9 p.m.
Cecil Thomas Turpin, 97

Cecil Thomas Turpin, age 97, of Cedar Grove Road, Irvine, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 27, 2023, after a short illness.
He was born September 19, 1925, to the late James G. Turpin and Della Curtis Turpin. Mr. Turpin was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and a retired IBM employee. He also served in World War II under the leadership of General George S. Patton, in the Company H, 318th Infantry Regiment, 80th Division. During his 2-year tour, he was responsible for loading and firing a 30-caliber machine gun and provided offensive tactics to stop enemy counter attacks. He received an EAME campaign medal with a bronze star, good conduct award, and the prestigious Purple Heart Medal for his heroic efforts after being wounded in France. Mr. Turpin was well-liked and loved by many. He was most humble and kind and always had a way to make you laugh.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Anna Ruth “Tootsie” Eckley Turpin; four sisters, Lois Murphy, Lucille Webb, Claire Portwood, and Betty Witt; three brothers, Harold, James, and Glyndon Turpin; and two grandchildren, Gary Adams, II, and Erin Nicole Turpin.
He is survived by his daughter, Sondra Adams (Gary), a son, Kevin Turpin (Peggy); three grandchildren; April Stone (Jimmy), Miranda Snowden, and Tyler Turpin (Jordan); and four great grandchildren; Ashley and Jenna Stone, and Chandler and Cade Snowden.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 1, 2023, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kevin Turpin officiating. Burial will be at the Winston Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until service tme at 1:00 p.m.

Jeffery Hardy, age 61, of Picnic Hill Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 27, 1961, in Dayton, Ohio and was the son of Leonard David and Elizabeth Dawes Hardy. He was a former member of the National Guard and had lived in Estill County most of his life.
Survivors, in addition to his father and mother, include two daughters, Brandy Hardy and Christy Hardy, both of Estill County; one sister, Debra Rogers of Estill County; one brother, Jerald Hardy of Estill County; and four grandchildren: Christopher Smith, Jeremy Miller, Douglas Wolfinbarger and Bryce Wolfinbarger.
He was preceded in death by his brother, David Hardy.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, April 29, 2023, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenneth Bishop officiating. Burial was at the South Irvine Cemetery. Visitation was held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to service time at 1:00 p.m.

Elnora Louise Bellamy Howell, 77

Elnora Louise Bellamy Howell, devoted wife for 59 years to the late Gene Howell; mother, grandmother, friend and Christian; age 77, of Clay City, Kentucky, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, April 26, 2023.
She was born on April 21,1946, in Barnes Hollow, Estill County, Kentucky, to the late Herman Patrick Bellamy and the late Emma Bernice Harper Bellamy.
In addition to her parents and her beloved husband, she was preceded in death by seven brothers, Morgan Bellamy, Dennis Bellamy, Cecil Bellamy, Russell Bellamy, Kenneth Bellamy, Orvil Bellamy and Alton Bellamy; and one sister, Madeline Bellamy.
Elnora loved her family fiercely and all she ever wanted to be, was a mother. She was the Salutatorian of Powell County High School Class of 1964. She always possessed a very positive attitude and was always thinking of others. She was very strong in her faith; during a 32-year battle with cancer, her faith never wavered.
Elnora was a member of the West Bend First Church of God where she served in the ladies’ club, event hospitality and in children’s church. She was a wonderful gardener and could make anything grow. During her life she worked as a telephone operator, an assembly line operator with OHI America where she had a perfect attendance for 11 years; she cared for children in her home for 12 years, and for a season, was a stay-at-home mom where she sowed her life into her children.
Elnora is survived by one son, Stephen Howell (Faye) of Clay City; three daughters: Lisa Rose Spangler (Michael) of Jeffersonville, Lois Jean “Jeanie” Napier (Ty) of Florence, and LeAnna Sue Lunsford (Jim) of Irvine; three brothers: Carlie Bellamy (Linda) of Mt. Sterling, Gordon Bellamy (Darlene) of Clay City, and Harry Bellamy (Jeannie) of Huntsville, Alabama; one sister, Phyllis Rogers of Stanton; 19 grandchildren: Laura Ralhael Spangler Fraley, Michael Ryan Spangler, Kari Nicole Spangler Lyons, John-Michael Dwain McCormick, Nathan Garrett Howell, Leighton Aaron Jones, Matthew Stephen Howell, Tory Ray Peyton, Ethan James Lunsford, Tiffany Anne Angel, Justin Ray Olinger, Tasha Renee Santiago, Amber Ethel Nicole Olinger, Lilly Mae Olinger, Jeremy Howard Olinger, Justin Andrew Napier, Zachary Aaron Lunsford, Lori Elizabeth McMillin and Jackson Wade Everman and ten great grandchildren.

Earl Lynn Lane Sr., age 74, husband of Regina Roseberry Lane, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at his home.
He was born November 16, 1948 in Sturgis, Michigan to the late Earl M. and Carol Vreeland Lane.
Survivors include his wife, Regina Lane; eight children, Suelyn Lane, Shannan Gregg, Tarena Keeton, Jessica Dickerson, Earl Lynn Lane Jr., Hannah Lane, Rebecca Lane, and Amanda Hackworth; 27 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Liberty Faith Hackworth.
Services were held Saturday, April 29, 2023, 2:00 p.m., at Wells Funeral Home in Stanton by Bro. Sammy Faulkner and Bro. Paul Day. Visitation was held Saturday, 1-2 p.m.

Eliza Jane Dargavell Ashcraft, age 76, of Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023.
Mrs. Ashcraft, the daughter of the late Newland and Stanley Chamberlin Dargavell, was born in Madison County on April 9, 1947. In 1966, she graduated from Madison Central High School. She later married Robert Ashcraft and was a homemaker who dearly loved her family. She enjoyed going to church and had attended Valley View Holiness Church.
Survivors include one son, Junior Samuel Cox II (Pamela Bertram) of Irvine; her daughter, Roxanna Moore of Richmond; one brother, Charles Dargavell; five grandchildren: Bobbie Kelley (Jeff McPhearson), Crystal Flinchum (Thomas), Jordan Cox, Amber Bertram and Carrie Bertram; four great grandchildren: Zachary Wyatt McPhearson, Emma Grace McPhearson, Reanna Elize Mae Flinchum and Jakob Elijah Lee Flinchum; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Eliza was preceded in death by four brothers, Randell Dargavell, Thomas Dargavell, Clarence Dargavell and Billy Dargavell; and one sister, Gertrude Gross.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Cecil Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5–8 p.m., Friday, April 28th at the funeral home.

Edward Allen "Doc" Blakemore, age 99, widower of Eva Witt Blakemore, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023 at his home.
He was born July 22, 1923 to the late Ezra J. and Ella Jones Blakemore in Irvine, Kentucky. He was a former employee of East KY Power and Leggett and Platt in Winchester, Ky.
Mr. Blakemore is survived by his daughter, Nancy Havens; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great, great grandson.
He is preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Allen Blakemore; a brother, June Nevel Blakemore; and two sisters, Stella Margaret Johnson and Georgia Ruth Mears.
Mr. Blakemore's service was held Thursday, April 27 at 2:00 p.m., at Landmark Baptist Church, 1223 Ironworks Rd., Winchester, Kentucky, officiated by Bro. Jimmie Muncie. Visitation was from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m. Burial in Boonesboro Cemetery, Old Boonesboro Road, Winchester.

Richard Charles "Rick" Pesut, age 58, of Stanton, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at the Stanton Nursing Center.
The husband of Jean Sparks Pesut, he was born August 25, 1964 in Dayton, Ohio to Martin and Sherry Pennington Pesut.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by one son, Christopher Pesut; three step-sons, Timothy Pelfrey, Michael Pelfrey, and Bobby Banfield; one daughter, Megan Pesut; a brother, Russell Pesut; a sister, Tamara Meyer; six grandchildren, Madelynn Pesut, Heaven Pelfrey, Haleigh Pelfrey, Sabastian Pelfrey, Bredan Pelfrey, and Chloe Pelfrey; and a dog Bella.

Debra Sue Wallick Stone, age 73, of Twin Creek Road, Irvine, KY passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2023.
She was born November 22, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of the late Louis and Elizabeth Welsh Wallick of Columbus. She was the wife of Larry W. Stone of Irvine.
Mrs. Stone is survived by her husband, Larry; her sister, Connie Wallick Broadwater(Tom); Mike and Rhonda Stone Childers, Kathy Stone, Conor Childers, Kathryn Paul, Jessica Chastain, and Donnie Stone.
Debbie graduated from Mifflin High School in 1967 and attended Ohio State University where she attained her Ph.D. in Early Childhood Education. She began her teaching career in Kentucky and never left. She met her husband, Larry, of 42 years and became a true country girl.
Debbie taught in early education for many years; becoming principal of Irvine Elementary and returning to her first love of teaching before her retirement. She then spent many happy years enjoying her cabin, family history, her hobbies of crafting, antiquing; her horses, and her family. As a teenager, Debbie was very active in 4-H and the Polled Hereford Association. She was an accomplished singer and published author.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 28, 2023, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Turpin officiating. Burial will be at the Flatwoods Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to service time at 1:00 p.m.

Connie Gibson, 68, passed away Friday, April 21, 2023.
She was born July 6, 1954 to the late Chester and Mollie Andrews Richardson in Winchester, Kentucky. She retired from East KY Power after 24 years of service.
Survivors include her daughters, Monica S. Lacy and Jaime Busch; her grandchildren: Jacob Busch, Kayla Busch and Molli Lacy; three sisters, Patricia Wasson, Paula Thomas and Shirley Uresti; and one brother, Gary Richardson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bradley Richardson, Bobby Richardson and Ricky Richardson.
Her services will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Rolan G Taylor Funeral Home, 259 South Main Street, Winchester.

Lisa Renee McQueen was born November 17, 1967, in Laurel County, Kentucky, and departed this life Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at her residence in Annville, at the age of 55. She was the daughter of Ella Dorothy Jones Williams of Berea and of the late Roger McQueen.
In addition to her mother, Lisa is survived by her daughter, April Rice of Annville; by a sister, Kimberly Wynn of Berea; by a brother, Roger Lee McQueen (Judy) of Annville; and by a half-brother, Chris Williams of Irvine. She was blessed with two grandchildren, Taylor Young and Eli Coby Dale Isaacs.
Graveside service were held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 24, 2023, at the McQueen Cemetery with Bro. Brian Gabbard officiating.

Almus Clinton “A.C.” Chapman, age 73, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023.
Born in Bowen, Powell County, Kentucky, on January 31, 1950, he was the son of the late Almus Chapman and the late Ella Jean Smith Chapman.
A.C. was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. Later in his life he worked as a correctional officer for the State of North Carolina Department of Corrections and as a manager for several different gas stations. He was a member of the Estill County VFW Post 8019. He was very funny and a likeable guy who was known to be quite a jokester.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Michael Chapman and Damon Ray Chapman; and one sister, Paula Combs.
He is survived by two sons, Jason Chapman and Jeremy Chapman, both of Irvine; one daughter, Amber Rachford (John) of Berea; one sister, Vada Barnes of Irvine; and 13 grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky from 11:00 a,m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2023 with the funeral service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the Donnie G. Randall Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Stanton with military honors.
Serving as active pallbearers are Jason Chapman, Jeremy Chapman, Daryl Chapman, Derick Norton, Boone Tucker and Dean Tucker.
Danny Boyd, 81

Danny Boyd, 81, husband of Orene Peck Boyd, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Clark Regional Medical Center, Winchester, Kentucky.
He was born August 23, 1941 in Powell County, Kentucky, to Noga and Mintie Kay Hall Boyd.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Orene Boyd; a daughter, Robin Watts; three sons, Joe Boyd, Randy Boyd (Onesia), and Steven Boyd; a brother, Jimmy Boyd (Bonnie); and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Eugene, Noga Jr., Kenneth, and Raymond Boyd; and a sister, Gloria Ledford.
He was a welder and farmer for over forty years, and a member of Queen Street Christian Fellowship. He loved being surround by his close family and friends, and was a loving papaw to all of his grandchildren. Danny especially enjoyed bluegrass music, cooking, and gardening. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Services will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023, 1:00 p.m., Wells Funeral Home, 777 West College Avenue, Stanton, by Pastor Tracy Crouch. Visitation will be held Friday, April 21st, 5-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery with Dawson Boyd, Austin Napier, Kevin Ledford, Terry Boyd, Randy Boyd, Kolby Boyd, Joey Boyd, Steve Boyd, and Bobby Stambaugh.
Honorary pallbearers serving are Teresa Kinser, Wendell Napier, Wayne Boyd, Clyde Peck, Warren Peck, Milton Peck, Melvin Atkinson, Steve Bentley, Lester Kiser, Billy Hall, Charles Boyd, Hoppy Parks, Mike Doyle, Ronnie Halsey, Chris Halsey, Steven Bricknell, Tom Baker, Dr. Sandra McCoy; and Fresenius Kidney Care and Clark Regional Medical Center's doctors and nursing staff.
Elsie King, 81

Elsie King, age 81, of Barnes Mountain Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, following a long illness.
She was born July 22, 1941, in Estill County and was the daughter of Omer and Georgie Mae Gilbert Williams. She retired from Carhartt where she worked as a seamstress. She was a member of the Beattyville Church of the Nazarene and had lived in Estill County all her life.
Mrs. King is survived by two sons: Ricky Allen (Shirley) Isaacs of Lee County; Sammie Glen King (Chasity) of Estill County; one sister, Rosalee Richardson of Estill County; one brother, Gary Wayne Williams of Estill County; four grandchildren: Lynn Griffin, Ricky Allen Isaacs Jr., Brittney King, and Aiden King; and two great grandchildren, Hannah Isaacs and Mackensley Griffin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sammie King; one sister, Dorothy Gabbard; and one brother, Delbert Williams.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, April 23, 2023, 2:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Bowles officiating. Burial was at the West Irvine Cemetery. Visitation was held on Sunday from 12 Noon to service time at 2:00 p.m.
Pallbearers were Ricky Allen Isaacs Jr., Chris Griffin, Aiden King, Justin Riddell, Jeff Crouch, and Jeffrey Crouch.
William Ledford, 65

William Ledford, age 65, of Stanton, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at the Stanton Nursing and Rehab. Center.
He was born March 24, 1958, in Winchester, Kentucky to Marion and Pearlie Mae Helton Ledford.
He is survived by a son, Joey Ledford of Stanton; a daughter, Tiffany Herring of Richmond; two grandchildren, two great grandchildren; and a brother, Dale Ledford (Debbie) of Stanton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Pearl Ledford.
Funeral services were held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 20, 2023 at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel in Clay City with Bro. William Greiser officiating. Friends visited Thursday from 5:00 p.m. till time of the service.
Julia Rae Witt, 93

Julia Rae Witt, age 93, went to be with her Heavenly Father Tuesday, April 18, 2023.
She was born September 26, 1929, in Irvine, Kentucky to Otis Powell and Nanny Wilcox Powell. Julia went to Irvine High School and stayed connected to many of her friends for years.
Julia was married on November 15, 1947 to Frank Glendon Witt of Irvine. Frank and Julia lived in Irvine where they had their first child, Phyllis, born in 1948; and then moved to Richmond, Kentucky in the early 1950’s. Julia had another child, Gina, born in 1961 in Richmond. They lived there for many years where they raised their family together.
Mrs. Witt was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Frank Witt; her parents, and siblings, Sally Wiggins, Ruth Watson, Georgia Powell, Alan Powell, and Jean Reynolds.
Julia was a stay-at-home mother and wife and was a great partner for Frank as he worked as a lineman for Kentucky Utilities for 38 years. She was a member of The First United Methodist Church in Richmond for many years and later became a member of the Rice Station Christian Church in Irvine. She was a wonderful homemaker and cook. She loved holiday traditions, picnicking, and canning and freezing the vegetables that Frank grew.
Home life was made very special for her children, with whom she taught and shared these wonderful traditions. She loved children and loved spending time with her family. She was looking forward to the upcoming birth of another great grandchild this summer.
Julia had a spunky personality, loved to travel and took her first airplane ride when she was 83 to Arizona to visit her sister. She loved shopping and eating out. She loved her purses, shoes and clothes to match. Her caregivers nicknamed her “The Queen” as she still carried her purse everywhere she went. They also referred to her as their “Sunshine.” She was very generous to those she loved and had compassion for others in need.
Survivors include her daughters, Phyllis Ann Brown (Rufus) and Gina Rae McCombs (Jon); two grandchildren, Angela Brown Boyle (Chris) and Christopher McCombs (Lacee); two great grandchildren, Eric Brown and Maison Richey (Reese); one great, great granddaughter, Charlotte Richey; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Julia has lived in Jonesboro, Georgia with her daughter Gina for the past six years and made many friends during her time in Georgia. There will be a visitation in Jonesboro at Legacy Funeral Home, April 19, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m.
The local visitation will be at the Lewis Home for Funerals in Irvine at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 22, 2023, prior to the funeral service to be conducted at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Pearson officiating. The burial will be at West Irvine Cemetery following the service.
Pallbearers are Christopher McCombs, David Witt, Arthur Witt, Chris Boyle, Zachary Boston, Robby Boston, and Austin Warren.
Honorary pallbearers are Rufus Brown and Jon McCombs.
Evelyn Cecile Tackett, 77

Evelyn Cecile Tackett, age 77, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the Marcum and Wallace Hospital in Irvine.
She was born January 10, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Cecil and Evelyn Lucille Mays Fox. She was retired from the Health Department.
Evelyn is survived by a daughter, Teresa Walling Stanfield; three grandchildren; and a sister, Carolyn Gould.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Evelyn Fox; a daughter, Sandra Tackett; and a sister, Margaret Jane Rogers.
No services are planned at this time.
