Cynthia Kay Henry Puckett, 39

Cynthia Kay Henry Puckett, age 39, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023.
She was born February 27, 1984 in Richmond to Timothy and Kay Henry.
Cynthia is survived by her mother, Kay Henry; three sons, Matthew Plowman, Johnny Ellington, and Christopher Ellington; a daughter, Kaylee Puckett; four brothers, Timothy Estill Henry, Jacob Henry, Dylan Henry, and Joseph Henry; and two sisters, Alivia Henry and Gracie Henry.
She was preceded in death by her father, Timothy Henry; and a sister, Shelly Henry.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, September 18, 2023 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Irvine with Bro. Phillip Smith officiating. Friends may visit Monday from 2:00 p.m. till time of the service. Burial will be in the Chamberlain Cemetery in Irvine.
In lieu of flowers, family asks that donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
Wilma Elaine Everman Denney, 87

Wilma Elaine Everman Denney, age 87, beloved wife of 64 years to Grider Denney, of Stanton, Kentucky passed into the arms of Jesus at home on Friday, September 15, 2023.
Wilma was born in West Bend, Kentucky on August 21, 1936, to the late Ray Everman and the late Nellie Crabtree Ewing. Wilma loved the Lord serving his Kingdom at the West Bend Methodist Church as the church treasurer, later being a member of the Clay City Baptist Church and attending near the conclusion of her life at the Stanton Presbyterian Church.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Gideons International Organization and sang in a trio that performed in many churches. Wilma enjoyed reading, collecting antiques, traveling, constructing wood crafts and was an extremely good cook. She was a secretary with the office of Soil Conservation Services and later in her life at the Powell County High School.
In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, J.C. and Grace Everman; two brothers, Billy Everman and Vernon Everman; a sister-in-law, Audrey Everman; a special cousin, Emilee Morguson; a special aunt, Thelma Ware; and many other beloved uncles, aunts, and cousins.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Denney of Lexington and Susan Ibanez (John) of Danville; three grandchildren, Joshua Raines, Hannah Sanders (Chris) and Katherine Snavely; three great grandchildren, Erik Snavely, Maximus Sanders and Aurora Sanders; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Everman of Boise, Idaho; and Lorene Smith of Knoxville, Tennessee; special cousins: Wayne Everman, Sharon Knox, Diana Elam and Ronnie Everman; and she is also survived by numerous nephews, and nieces, as well as the Everman in-laws that married into the Everman family, Phyllis Everman, Melody Knox, and Ronnie Knox.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services officiated by Rev. Wayne Everman will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday after visitation. Burial will be held at the Stanton Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers are Linda Estepp, Jan Riley, members of the Clay City Baptist Church, and all former and current staff of the Powell County High School.
Timothy Ray Henry, 61

Timothy Ray Henry, age 61, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, September 15, 2023 at his residence.
He was born in Irvine on January 29, 1962 to Ernest Jr. and Elsie Chamberlain Henry.
Mr. Henry is survived by four sons: Timothy Estill Henry, Jacob Henry, Dylan Henry, and Joseph Henry; three daughters: Cynthia Puckett, Gracie Henry, and Alivia Henry; five brothers: Robert Henry, Troy Henry, Edward Henry, Terry Henry, and Larry Henry; and two sisters, Deborah Kohlhorst and Cheryl Hardy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Jr. and Elsie Chamberlain Henry; a daughter, Shelly Henry; and a brother, Jimmy Henry.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, September 18, 2023 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Irvine with Bro. Phillip Smith officiating. Friends may visit Monday from 2:00 p.m. till time of the service. Burial will be in the Chamberlain Cemetery in Irvine.

Marshall Wayne Howard, 65

Marshall Wayne Howard, age 65, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at his residence.
He was born September 21, 1957 in Lexington. He was a retired carpenter.
Mr. Howard is survived by a special companion, Lena Brewer; two sons, Michael Brayman and Devin Howard; a stepson, Cody Williams; two daughters, Michelle Mosley and Dana Long; 16 grandchildren; and a sister, Libby Jo Bowman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Linville and Christine O’Hair; and two brothers, Linville O’Hair Jr. and and John O’Hair.
Funeral services were held Sunday, September 17, 2023 at the O’Hair Cemetery in Irvine. Friends visited at the cabin beside the cemetery from 11:00 a.m. till time of the service.
Grayson Funeral Home of Clay City was in charge of arrangements.
Donnie Howard Kearns, 80

Donnie Howard Kearns, age 80, the husband of Mary Lois McMullin Kearns, passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 13, 2023.
He was born in Richmond, Kentucky on September 22, 1942. He was the son of the late Coleman and Beulah McQueen Kearns. Donnie was a 1962 graduate of Madison Central High School and was a retired employee of Rockwell International in Winchester. He was a faithful member of Red House Baptist Church. Donnie enjoyed being with his family, especially his wife Mary Lois, listening to Bluegrass music, and looked forward to the Madison County Farm Tour each year.
In addition, Donnie was a farmer. He had farmed in Estill and Powell Counties before coming to Madison County in 1993 to manage several large cattle operations. He was also a dedicated member of the Madison County Fair and Horse Show Board of Directors. After he semi-retired, he began playing golf, something he enjoyed very much. Whatever Donnie was involved with, or wherever he was, it was not as much about the event or the occasion as it was about being with people.
Survivors include his wife Mary Lois; his children, Karen Kearns Fritts (Don) and Chris Kearns (Rachel); his stepchildren, Harold R. Ray (Terry), Rona Comley and Robbin Carey (John); two sisters, Bonnie Eltzroth (Jerry) and Connie Reynolds (Lewis Dean); five grandchildren, Devan Doty (Erienne), Lane Doty, Andrew Doty, Owen Kearns and Noah Kearns; four step-grandchildren, Laura Beth Keltner (Jordan), Chandler Ray, Lydia Carey, Gavin Ray and Sara Beth Franz (Thad); seven great grandchildren, Ella Grace Comley, James Doty, Delaney Doty, Taryn Franz, Tait Franz, Teagan Franz and Tyler Franz; as well as several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Donna Doty.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Red House Baptist Church with Pastor Dwayne Abrahamson and Rev. Gene Strange officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Monday evening, September 18th, at the church.
Pallbearers are Devan Doty, Lane Doty, Andrew Doty, Chandler Ray, Gavin Ray, Owen Kearns and Noah Kearns.
Honorary pallbearers are Ritchie Cobb, Tim Brandenburg, Don Martin, Keith Garrett, Jim Carr, John Andrew McCord, Delbert Owsley, Tommy Congleton, members of the Believers Sunday School Class of Red House Baptist Church, the Madison County Fair and Horse Show Board of Directors, the Boone’s Trace morning, afternoon, and white tee Wednesday golf teams, as well as many within the farming community.

Alfred Lynn Webb, age 63, of Leighton Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at the Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, following a short illness.
He was born June 17, 1960, in Lee County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Roy and Mary Frances Sparks Webb. He worked at Advance Auto Parts and he was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church #2. He had lived in Estill County for most of his life.
Mr. Webb is survived by his wife, Charolette McKinney Webb; three sons: Walter McKinney of Estill County,
Walter Blake McKinney of Jefferson County, and
Harley Douglas McKinney of Estill County;
two sisters, Jenny Webb (Verlin) of Estill County and Melissa “Lisa” Bowling of Madison County; three brothers: Ronnie Webb (Pliney) Estill County, Ricky Webb of McCracken County; and Danny Webb of Woodford County; and a sister-in-law, Kathleen Webb of Estill County.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel and David Webb.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, September 18, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Chad Brothers officiating. Burial was at the Cane Springs Macedonia Cemetery. Visitation was held on Sunday from 6-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Walter McKinney, Johnathon Jelley, John Bowling, Shaun Canter, Scott Webb, Phillip Webb, Jerry Isaacs, and Harley Douglas McKinney.

Ethel Jean Hume Turner Gross, age 91, of Georgetown, Kentucky, the widow of Delbert C. Gross, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 13, 1932, on Turner Ridge in Madison County. She was the daughter of the late David and Neva Foley Hume. She was a homemaker, a retired employee of General Electric in Lexington and a member of the Gano Baptist Church in Georgetown. Mrs. Gross was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and wife. She was loved by all that had the honor and privilege to know her. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed family get togethers.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Blakeman (Albert) and Kitty Brown; four sisters, Reba Chamberlain, Barbara Howard, Bertha Meacham (Gary), and Shalimar Christian (Jack); five grandchildren: Jason Brown (Donielle), Courtney Brown, Justin Brown (Whitney), Tyler Blakeman and Jake Turner; seven great grandchildren: Austin Brown, Kyleigh Brown, Kristin Brown, Kenadie Brown, Isabella Turner, Kashlyn Turner and Xander Brown, and one great, great grandchild, Hendrix Brown; as well as several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, William H. Turner; one son, William Harry “Bill” Turner Jr., five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 14, 2023, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Harry Hargis officiating. Burial followed at Madison Memorial Gardens. The family received friends beginning at 11:00 a.m., Thursday morning at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers were Jason Brown, Justin Brown, Tyler Blakeman, Jake Turner, Austin Brown and Albert Blakeman.

Jennifer Ann Pingleton Lewis, age 42, of Leighton Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the Baptist Health in Richmond, following a long illness.
She was born June 15, 1981 in Madison County and was the daughter of Virginia Long.
Survivors in addition to her mother, include her husband, Lonnie David Lewis, Jr.; her son, Alex Dwayne Pingleton of London, Kentucky; and several grandchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted at a later date.

Ora Mae Dennis Bridges, 79

Ora Mae Dennis Bridges, age 79, widow of Lemmie D. Bridges Jr., passed away Monday, September 11, 2023, in Lexington, Kentucky.
Born September 23, 1943 in Clark County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late R.J. and Marie Means Dennis.
Ora was a member of the Bread of Life Assembly of God in Lexington and retired in Housekeeping Supervisor Management.
Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Sandra Bridges, Greta Cole (Keith) and Christy Holloway; two granddaughters and four grandsons; 14 great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren; two brothers and four sisters; a brother-in-law and his wife; and an abundance of nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband of 55 years and parents, she was preceded in death by a child and three siblings.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bridges will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Kerr Brothers 3421 Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, with Pastor David Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens in Nicholasville. Visitation will be 12:00 Noon till the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Margie Miller Alcorn, age 97, of John Elwood Drive in Centerville, Ohio, passed away Monday, September 4, 2023, in Ohio.
She was born December 12, 1925, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Bertha Dozier Miller. She was a member of the Calvery Baptist Church, and she had lived in Estill County all her life.
Mrs. Alcorn was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Alcorn; and she is survived by one sister, Betty Sue Alcorn of Dayton, Ohio; one brother, Troy Miller; and several nieces and nephews
Funeral services was conducted Wednesday, September 13, 2023, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Roberts officiating. Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation was held Wednesday from 12:00 Noon until service time at 1:00 p.m.
Pallbearers were Larry Miller, Tom Shipp, John Stallons, Tyler Dunlap, Eric Miller, and Bart Alcorn.

Sheila Carpenter Masters, age 85, passed away Wednesday September 6, 2023, at Baptist Health in Richmond, Kentucky.
She was born September 4, 1938, in Estill County, Kentucky, to the late Newt and Flossie Bishop Carpenter. Sheila spent her life working on the farm and as a homemaker. She enjoyed playing cards, listening to music, playing Bingo, and loved being with family and friends. Sheila was of the Holiness Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, John B. Masters, Jr.; and three brothers, Giles, Bennett, and Clayton Carpenter.
Sheila is survived by one son, Harold Wayne Carpenter of Burnside; three sisters, Ethel Pigg of Paint Lick, Faye Perkins (Don) of Richmond, and Betty Lakes (Doug) of Brodhead; one brother, Glendon Carpenter (Betty Jo) of Cartersville; four grandchildren, Courtney Alexander (Dale), Jonathan Bascom-Carpenter, Whitney Bascom-Carpenter, and Kayla Bascom; and seven great grandchildren, McKenzie Alexander, Paisley Alexander, Zaiden Alexander, Greyson Alexander, Khloe Bradley, William Bradley, and Elijah Bradley.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday September 9, 2023, at Davis & Powell Funeral Home in Berea with Rev. Jimmy Lakes officiating. Burial followed in Robinson Cemetery. Visitation was held 6-8 p.m., Friday September 8th at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Perry Kirby, Timmy Tuttle, Brent Moore, William Brent Moore, Jonathan Bascom-Carpenter, and Dale Alexander.

Jeffery Allen Chaney, age 64, of Covey Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023, at his home.
He was born February 4, 1959, in Rushville, Indiana and was the son of the late Donald and Shirley Kent Chaney. He worked in Construction and he had lived in Estill County for most of his life.
Mr. Chaney is survived by several nieces and nephews; and a special aunt, Della Alcorn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Michele Fox and Delight Samples; and one brother, David Chaney.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mavis Carol Spencer, age 77, of Clay City, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023 at the Kenwood Nursing Home in Richmond, Kentucky.
She was born November 6, 1945 in Clark County to Ernest and Emerine Townsend Hopper. She was a seamstress.
Mrs. Spencer is survived by a son, Joseph W. Spencer (Vicky); a granddaughter, Ana Spencer; and two brothers, Wayne Hopper (Joyce) and Russell Hopper (Kris).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Spencer; three brothers, Charles Hopper, William Hopper, and Thurlon Hopper; and two sisters, Elizabeth Mansfield and Margaret Griffith.
A Memorial Service was held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, September 8, 2023 at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel in Clay City with Bro. Kim Rose officiating. Friends visited Friday from 5:00 p.m. 'till time of the service.
James Irvin Townsend, 60

James Irvin Townsend, age 60, of Winchester, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at his home. Born in Clark County, Kentucky on July 14, 1963, he was the son of the late Herman and Helen Strange Townsend.
James loved to fish and watch wrestling, and his favorite song was “I Am A Man Of Constant Sorrow”.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Townsend; and his son, Justin Kyle Benningfield.
He is survived by his sister, Evelyn York (Jerry W.) of Winchester.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue in Stanton. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday evening as well.
