Nita passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023 at the age of 70 after a brief illness due to complications from surgery.
She was a native of Estill County, born August 5, 1953, the daughter of the late Cornelius Washington “Neal” and Viola Maureen Moore Bryant, and was preceded in death by a brother, Neal “Butch” Bryant.
She worked as a 911 dispatcher while living in Florida and later as an L3 at the Bluegrass Army Depot at Avon from which she retired.
She is survived by a niece, Emily Orndorff; and a nephew, Matthew Bryant.
Donations were requested to be given to your local animal shelter.
Ricky Lynn Allen, 68

Ricky Lynn Allen, age 68, husband of Mable Allen of Stanton, Kentucky, passed away at the Lee County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Beattyville on Sunday, October 8, 2023.
Ricky was born in Middletown, Ohio, on March 13, 1955, to the late Eugene Allen and the late Imogene Sallie Allen. Ricky loved Bluegrass music, western movies and television shows and old cars, especially 57 Chevys.
Through the years, he worked for Hinkle Contracting Company as a heavy equipment operator, as a Police Dispatcher for Powell County and for three terms as a Powell County Constable. Ricky was a former member of the Kentucky Friends of the Bluegrass.
In addition to his parents, Ricky was preceded in death by three brothers, Gary Allen, Danny Allen, and Emery C. Dunn; and one sister, Brenda Shanks.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Cory Allen and Ricky Allen, both of Stanton; one daughter, Stephanie Allen of Stanton; two granddaughters, Kennedy Allen of Mount Sterling and Zoey Campbell of Stanton; one brother, Larry Allen (Susie) of Stanton; and one sister, Sharon Redmon of Stanton.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton. Funeral services officiated by Anthony Molihan will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12th.
Burial will be held at Resthaven Cemetery with Charlie Parks, Thomas Cook, Robbie Dunn, Wilgus Sallie, Dylian Wilson and Linville Willoughby serving as active pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers are current and former employees of the Hinkle Contracting Company, members of the Kentucky Friends of the Bluegrass and Hondo Hearne.

Robert Stanley Jenks, Jr., age 62, husband of Kimberly Mullin Jenks, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023 at his home.
He was born August 13, 1961 in Fulton, New York to the late Robert Stanley Jenks and the late Margaret Bartlett Gilbo.
Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Lee Jenks; three daughters, Christy Thomas, Jessica Spicer, and Tammy Boyd; two brothers, David Bartlett and Trampis Jenks; four sisters, June Weldin, Roberta Reed, Waneda Jenks, and Pearl Lafave; and five grandchildren, Brianna Boyd, Lillie Boyd, Sadie Spicer, Kenslee Puckett, and Lincoln Spicer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jamie Bartlett; and a granddaughter, Adaliene Spicer.
Services will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2023, 3:00 p.m., Wells Funeral Home, 777 West College Avenue, Stanton, by Bro. Paul Day. Visitation will be held Wednesday 12:00 Noon until service time at 3:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

Damon Mitchell Adams, age 87, of Stanton, Kentucky, passed into the arms of Jesus on Saturday morning, October 7, 2023.
Damon was born in Powell County, Kentucky on May 30, 1936, the eldest son of the late Thomas Otto and the late Beatrice Abner Adams. He was a retired Master Sargeant after 20 years of service in the United States Air Force. He was one of 40 men tasked with the design and development of the B-1 Bomber. After retiring, he moved back to Stanton, and opened Adams HVAC, working for over 40 years in his business. He was a long-time member of the Stanton Christian Church.
In addition to his parents, Damon was preceded in death by his wife, Mavis Hall Adams; and one brother, Karl Adams.
He is survived by his two daughters, Carla Opperman (Jake) and Candie Baker (Doug); his two sons, Bill Adams (Connie) and David Adams (Patty); eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; one sister, Treva Brewer; one brother, Linville Adams (Janet); several nieces and nephews, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and one special adopted dog “Scruffy”.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton. Funeral services officiated by Brother Greg Webb will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday after visitation.
Burial will be held at Kennon Cemetery in Clay City with Kris Adams, Brad Stone, Roger Stone, Brian Billings, Daniel Hall, and Gary Asch III serving as active pallbearers.

James Albert Stokley, 45, husband of Stacey Stokley, passed away Friday, October 6, 2023 at Clark Regional Medical Center, Winchester, Kentucky.
He was born in Lexington, Kentucky October 19, 1977 to Jesse James and Debbie Beagle Stokley.
Survivors include his parents, Jesse and Debbie Stokley; his wife, Stacey Stokley; his children, Jeremiah Lee Stokley, James Albert Stokley Jr., Jordan Isiah Stokley, and Kayla Nicole Stokley; one brother, David Stokley (Amber); four sisters, Nita Buckland (Charles), Merinda Rose (Arnold), Patricia Byrd (Jeff), and Nissa Stokley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at the Redeeming Grace Church of God, 3313 Lexington Road, Winchester.
William “Trevor” Cornett, 37

William “Trevor” Cornett of Ravenna, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the age of 37.
Trevor was born August 8, 1986, to Connie Cornett of Ravenna, and Gary Robinson of Irvine.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his three children, one brother, and one sister.
Trevor was loved by his family and friends and fought hard until the end.
He was preceded in death by his granny, Eva Cornett; and his papaw, Irvin Cornett.
The family will hold a memorial service at South Irvine Cemetery Saturday, October 28th at 2:00 p.m.
Care Cremation and Funeral Service was entrusted with final care.
Thomas Jackson Voils, 86

Thomas Jackson Voils, age 86, of Winchester, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023.
He was born in Lincoln County, Kentucky to the late Benjamin and Elizabeth Kinney Voils on September 11, 1937. He was a long-time resident of Winchester, retired from Bundy Tubing, and was a member of UAW 1937.
Mr. Voils is survived by a daughter, Karen Flack (Jack); a son, Ricky Voils; grandchildren: Jennifer Tussey (Mike), Shawn Oliver, David Voils and Jamie Ballard (Justin); and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Lily Lane Voils.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., at the White Shelter in Winchester Cemetery.

Phyllis Jacobs, 84 of Stanton passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023.
She was born June 4, 1939 in Dresden, Ohio, to Earl Ashcraft and Marilee “Asa” Williams. She was a factory worker and attended the Mill Knob Baptist Church.
Mrs. Jacobs is survived by two daughters, Brenda Cooper (Jeff Marcum) and Nancy Mangold (Ted); 14 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild; a brother, Ronald Ashcraft; and two sisters, Karen Schirtzinger and Judy Graves.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Ashcraft and Marilee “Asa” Williams; her husbands, Robert Farnworth, Kenneth Murray and Harold Jacobs Sr.; a daughter, Terri Shahan; three grandchildren, Krista Tatro, Asa Workman, and Matthew Marcum; and two brothers, James Ashcraft and Gary Ashcraft.
A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice East for all they do.

Janie Carol Mosley, age 67, of Sadieville, Kentucky, passed away at Grandhaven Nursing Home on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.
Janie was born in Beattyville, Kentucky on September 22, 1956, to the late Ralph Martin and the late Trudy Schaefer Martin. Janie loved her grandchildren deeply. She attended Beattyville Christian Church. Through the years she worked for Toyota, as a Dental Hygienist, as a Laboratory Technician for Quest Diagnostics and LabCorp and had her Real Estate License.
In addition to her parents, Janie was preceded in death by her husband, Randy Mosley; her son, Israel Shane Mills; and one grandchild, Brianna Mills.
She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Mills Gerber of Georgetown; her brother, Anthony Martin (Teresa) of Nicholasville; and four grandchildren, Dustin Gerber, Taylor Gerber, Brooke Mills and Bridgette Mills.
Visitation was held from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services officiated by Brother Hartwell Neal were held at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday after visitation.
Honorary pallbearers were Denise Noble, Kay Curtis, Edna Neal, Laura Lee and Mary Burke.

Sabrina Renee Tate, age 2 months, of Copper Creek Road in Berea, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at her home.
She was born July 21, 2023, in Madison County and was the daughter of Tayshawn Douglas Tate and April Renee McIntosh.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her grandparents, Latanya West, Earl Estes Jr., both of Estill County; and Tina Sizemore of Madison County; her great grandmother, Teresa Gordon of Estill County; her great, great grandmother, Emma Mitchell of Estill County; one brother, Treshawn Lee Tate; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, October 7, 2023, 12:00 Noon, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at the Flatwoods Cemetery. Visitation was held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon.

Shannon Dean Miller, age 48, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2023, following a short illness.
He was born December 14, 1974, in Fayette County and was the son of Lewis Dean Miller and Sonia Newton. He worked for 9-Minute Lube as a Mechanic, and he had lived in Jessamine County for most of his life.
Mr. Miller is survived by two daughters, Raven Miller and Jaden Miller, both of Jessamine County; one son, Kolton Gregory Dean Miller; and one sister, Teresa Miller-Ruiz (Anthony) of Estill County.
A memorial service is scheduled for a later date.

Clarence Wallace Sr., age 95, of Winston Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2023, at his home, following a long illness.
He was born March 9, 1928, in Morehead, Kentucky and was the son of the late Elick and Sarah Hicks Wallace. He was a retired Logger, Construction Worker, Farmer, and Sawmill Owner. He was of the Baptist Faith, and he had lived in Estill County for most of his life.
Mr. Wallace is survived by his wife, Emma Jane Mays Wallace; three daughters, Sarah Knoll of Estill County; Patti Alfrey of Fayette County; and Marry Ann Spencer (Norman) of Michigan; four sons, Clarence Wallace Jr. of Fayette County;
Shannon Mays,
Randall “Butch” Wallace (Pauline), both of Estill County; and
Roger Wallace (Delores) of Madison County; one brother, Homer Wallace of Farmers, Kentucky; one stepdaughter, Pauline Riddell of Estill County; and several grand, great, great-great, and great-great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Pauline Ratliff; two sons, Billy Ray Wallace and Gerald Wallace; four sisters, Barbara Black, Margaret Mynhier, Bessie Webb, and Alberta Smith; and five brothers, Sylvon “Pete”, William, Lloyd, Chalmer, and Melvin Wallace.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, October 4, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill VanWinkle officiating. Burial was at the Wallace Cemetery. Visitation was held Tuesday, October 3rd from 6-9 p.m.
Pallbearers were Jason Woolery, Scotty Wallace, Cotie Mays, Joe Wallace, Michael Johnson, and Landon McFarland.

David Allen Ross, age 51, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023 from injuries received in an automobile accident.
He was born November 8, 1972 in Richmond, Kentucky, to William and Shirley Ross.
Mr. Ross is survived by a brother, Greg Ross (Susan); and two sisters, Deborah Richardson and Sandra Richardson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Shirley Ross; a brother, William Joseph Ross; and two sisters, Cecilia Isaacs and Melinda Mills.
A graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday October 1, 2023 at the Bark Road Cemetery in Berea.

Clarence Wallace Sr., age 95, of Winston Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2023, at his home following a long illness.

Alma Frances Hall, age 76, of Irvine, Kentucky, departed this life on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at the Irvine Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Alma was born on February 27, 1947, in Berea, Kentucky to the late Virgil and Mary Lucy Sparks Angel.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her two husbands, Earl James Kelley and Brian Hall; along with three sons, Earl Ray, Ricky, and Ronnie Kelley.
Survivors include her children, Loretta Henry (Terry), Pam Embry and fiancé Russell, and Jerry Kelley; ten grandchildren, Kendra, McKenzie, Gracie, Alivia, Shannon, Ashley, Brandon, Ricky James, Trisha, and Cheyenna; eleven great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends to miss her and mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Alma Frances Hall will be conducted on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lewis Home for Funerals. Brother Sidney Sparks will be officiating. Interment will follow in the South Irvine Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m.

David Young, Jr., 80, of Wooster, Ohio, died on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare.
He was born February 13, 1943 in Yellow Rock, Lee County, Kentucky, to David and Ida Reese Young.
David served his country in the United States Army. He was employed with the Oilwell Division US Steel 1963-1984. In retirement, he started Target Oilfield Pipes and Supplies, then ended his career at Central Pump. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
David is survived by his daughters, Tracey Daugherty (Jim) and Erika Lemmon (Tony); grandchildren: James Daugherty (Chelsey), Samantha Dudte (Cody), Steffani Starkey (Kyle); Adria and Aley Lemmon; great grandchildren, Anthony, Harper, Spencer, Riley, Camden “little buddy”, and Kennedy; siblings, Martha Revel, Shelt Young, Cleve Young, Hubert Young (Betty), Louise Watson, Marie Begley (Charles), Nancy Rose (Jerry), Joe Young (Judy), Clyde Young (Patty), Wanda Manious, Mae Pasley (Scotty), Norma Rogers (Austin), Hazel Worley (Leon) and Ernie Young (Samantha); along with a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters-in-law, Naomi Young and Marie Young; two brothers-in-law, Paul Watson and Jim Revel; the mother of his children, Linda Tipton Young; and former-in-laws, Tracy & Glyndeen “Granny” Tipton.
Friends will be received on Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.
Funeral services in Kentucky will be held at a later date.

Teresa Noland Brinegar, daughter of the late Glendon and Donna Longworth Noland, was born in Lexington, Kentucky on January 31, 1962 and departed this life in Irvine, Kentucky on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at the age of 61 years, 7 months and 28 days. She was a retired school teacher for the Lee County Board of Education and a member of the Beattyville Christian Church.
Teresa leaves behind her daughter, Katherine Paige Brinegar (Edward Brian Bowen); one grandson, Edward Bowen Stinson; special cousins, Eddie Johnson and family, Kathy Johnson, and Matthew Johnson; her best friend, George Chaney, all of Beattyville; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Teresa was preceded in death by her aunt, Wanda Bevel; an uncle, Omer Noland; and cousins, Bill Farmer and Ernie Johnson.

Edna Blevins Cain, 99, of Irvine, Kentucky, the widow of Snowden Cain, passed away Thursday evening, September 28, 2023, at the Marcum-Wallace Hospital in Irvine. Her death was just one month away from her 100th Birthday.
Mrs. Cain was born in Estill County, Kentucky, on October 28, 1923, the daughter of the late Dan and Tilda Babb Blevins. She was a homemaker and a member of The Old Path Holiness Church.
Survivors include three daughters: Frances Dixon, Loraine Campbell (Charles) and Mildred Gray; one son: Julian Cain (Sylvia); eighteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. Cain was preceded in death by three sons, Dan Cain, Willie Cain and Arthur Cain; and five grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 5, 2023, at The Old Path Holiness Church, 3253 Old KY Hwy 52 with Rev. Marvin Marshall and Rev. Bobby Hale officiating. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery at Waco.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday evening at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, 328 West Main Street, Richmond, and from 10:00 a.m. to service time on Thursday at the Church.

John Walter Baker, age 59, husband of Amy Curtis Baker, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at his home in Jackson, Kentucky.
He was born July 21, 1964 in Jackson to the late Walter Baker and to Rebecca Herald Baker. An avid outdoorsman, hunter, & fisherman, John loved being out in the natural world. He spent his career as a longtime educator with Breathitt County Schools.
In addition to his wife, Amy Baker; and mother, Rebecca Baker; he is survived by four sons Tyler Baker, Chandler Baker (Natasha), Zachary Rice, and Sawyer Baker; a daughter Lauren Underwood (Neil); a grandchild, Blake Underwood; and soon-to-arrive granddaughter Underwood coming in October; and a special aunt, Nettie Turner.
In addition to his father, Walter Baker, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Leslie Baker.
Funeral services will be held at Breathitt Funeral Home in Jackson at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 30 with Bryon Spencer, Kenneth Childers, and Bro. Paul Turner officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Burial will follow the service at the Squire-Turner Cemetery in Jackson with Jeremy Hall, Marty Hayes, Doug Gay, Tyler Baker, Zachary Rice, Chandler Baker, & Bobby Howard serving as pallbearers.

Donald Edward Combs, 89, husband of Shirley Dean Combs, passed away on Wednesday evening, September 27, 2023, at the Terrace Nursing & Rehab in Berea.
Don was born in Estill County, Kentucky on August 31, 1934, the son of the late Elbert and Eleanor Riddell Combs. He attended and was a graduate of Estill County High School where he was a member of the basketball team. Don was a long-time cattle farmer and enjoyed spending time on his tractor bailing hay and just being outdoors. He was the former Vice President of Operations for Jerrico Incorporated in Lexington and a member of the Madison Hills Christian Church.
In addition to his wife, Shirley, he is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Elam, Joy Pennington, and Dr. Jennifer Wolfe; one step-daughter, Carol Johnston (Tracey); six grandchildren, Stephanie Jones (Lewis), Chris Chipley, Lindsay Pelfrey (John), David Lybrook, Bramson Wolfe and Michael Wolfe; two step-grandchildren, Austin Taylor and Halle-Morgan Blackwell (Thomas); two great grandchildren, Sydney Pelfrey and Todd Chipley (Megan); one step-great-grandchild, Maxwell Taylor; three great, great, grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Debbie Dean and Sue Oldham (Roy); a special nephew, Larry Combs (Tonda); and a host of other extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: one brother, Buford Combs (Gertrude); and one sister, Ollie Combs; one son-in-law, Daniel Wolfe; and one brother-in-law, Glen Dean.
Funeral services were conducted at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, September 30, 2023, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond, with Bro. Marty Frazer officiating. Burial followed in the Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation was after 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.

George Edward Kissick, Jr., age 76, of Park Avenue in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
He was born April 24, 1947, in Madison County and was the son of the late George Edward and Nellie Burchett Kissick. He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a retired owner of the Estill Ice Company and attended the Catholic Church.
He had lived in Estill County all his life and is survived by his wife, Anne Cox Kissick; his son, Kyle Edward Kissick (Christina) of Loveland, Ohio; two brothers, Roger Kissick of Irvine and Kim Kissick of Indiana; and four grandchildren: Cole Edward Kissick, Erin Kissick, Avery Kissick, and Simon Kissick.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Diana Kissick Henry.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, October 1, 2023, 2:30 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Skip Johnson officiating. Burial was at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation was held on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Larry Gene Brown, age 79, of Irvine, Kentucky, formerly of Macon, Georgia, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023, at his home.
Mr. Brown, the son of the late Buster and Ruby Revels Brown, was born in Macon on August 16, 1944. He retired from the City of Macon and the City of Ft. Valley, Georgia as the Public Works Director. Painting cars, working with stone and doing carpentry work were things he enjoyed doing. He also loved watching Tucker, his grandson, play ball. Larry was a member of Eastside Community Church. He was also a United States Air Force veteran.
Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca Brown (& Mike Sandlin) of Richmond and Shannon Adams (Ronnie) of Georgia; the mother of their children, Martha N. Brown; one sister, Kitty Reid Brown; three grandchildren, Tucker Sandlin, Lynn Sosebee (Eric) and Joshua Brown; his great grandchild, Colton Sosebee; two step-grandchildren, Eric Sandlin (Alyssa) and Leeanna Sandlin; two step-great grandchildren, Arthur Sandlin and Lena-Marie Sadler; and his nieces and nephews.
Mr. Brown was also preceded in death by four sisters: Peggy Roberts, Frankie Perzy, Glenda Bozeman and Betty Goodrich.
Funeral Services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 29, 2023 at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home in Richmond, with Rev. Brandon Bunch officiating. Burial will follow in Flatwoods Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Mike Sandlin, Donnie Winkler, Eric Sandlin, Dakota Fish, Mason Fish and Eric Sosebee.

Anna Lou Harrison, 94

Anna Lou Harrison, age 94, of Dry Branch Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023, at the Marcum and Wallace Hospital following a long illness.
She was born December 22, 1928, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Ben and Florence Spicer Whitener. She was a Civil Service Worker, retiring from the Blue Grass Activity in 1986. She was a member of the Williams Memorial Baptist Church and she had lived in Estill County for most of her life.
Mrs. Harrison was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Harrison; and she is survived by two grandchildren, Larry James “Jamie” Frymyer of Irvine and Deanna Neal (Brian) of Lexington, South Carolina; three great grandchildren, Brandi Michelle Frymyer of Irvine, Shelby Neal and Jacob Neal, both of Lexington, South Carolina; and four nephews, Tommy Abney of Louisville, Michel Abney (Barbara) of Sterling, Colorado; David Whitener and Gary Whitener, both of Indiana.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Debra Ann Witt and Pamela Sue Frymyer; one sister, Betty Dolley; one brother, Logan Whitener; and two grandchildren, Sheila Denise Frymyer and Heather Dawn Witt.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 29, 2023, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Scott Rogers officiating. Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to service time at 1:00 p.m.
Matt Douglas Bickers, 65

Matt Douglas Bickers age 65, of Clay City, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home in Berea, Thursday, September 21, 2023 after a brief illness.
Matt was born in Carrollton, Kentucky, to the late Gilbert and Louella Cheek Bickers. He was a plumber and worked for Neal Brothers and Rapid Plumbing. Matt was also a United States Army Veteran.
He was also preceded by his sister, Martha Ellen Bickers.
Matt is survived by his children, Matt Bickers (Suzie), Haley Reid and Jessica McCoy (Dominic); his brother, Gilbert Lee Bickers; and his grandchildren, Chandler, Cash, Megyn, Benjamin, and Eleanor.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
Lakes Funeral Home of Berea is in charge of arrangements.
