Bethel Lee Baker

    Bethel Lee Baker, age 72, of Stanton, Kentucky, departed this life on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at the Stanton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
    Bethel was born on January 5, 1951, in Lexington, Kentucky to the late Arnold and Bethel Leek Wasson.
    In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lee Baker; two brothers, Cecil Pendelton and Russell L. Wasson; along with one nephew, Russell Dale Wasson.
    Survivors include her daughter, Penny Louise Wiggins-Caldwell (Frank); her son, William K. Wiggins; three grandchildren, Justin Lee Caldwell (Tracie), Sandra Louise Caldwell, and Dalton Lee Wiggins (Ashley; ten great grandchildren, Jayden, Audrey, Brenton, Justin Jr., Brittlei, Eleanor, Remington, Carter, Jaxtyn, and August; one special cousin, Sandy Newton; a special nephew, Zachary Dale Wasson; and numerous other family and friends to miss her and mourn her passing.
    Funeral services for Bethel Lee Baker were conducted on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lewis Home for Funerals with Brother Brian Cromer officiating. Interment followed in the West Irvine Cemetery. The family received friends on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Glenda “Cheetah” Burns

    Glenda “Cheetah” Burns, age 76, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at her residence.
    She was born September 14, 1947 in Cullman, Alabama to Dolphus and Frances King. She was a housewife and was a member the South Irvine Holiness Church.
    Glenda is survived by two daughters, Frances Scott and Lisa Burns; nine grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, three great, great grandchildren; and two brothers, Charles King and Mickey King.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Dolphus and Frances King; her husband, James Burns; and a son ,John Burns.
    Funeral services were held at 7 p.m., Friday, October 13, 2023 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Irvine with Bro. Phillip Smith officiating. Friends visited Friday from 6 p.m. till time of the service.
    In lieu of flowers, family ask that donations be made to Grayson Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.

Joyce Wilson Cox

    Joyce Wilson Cox, age 86, departed this lifetime on Monday, October 9, 2023, lovingly surrounded by all her children at her Florida home.
    Born on March 7, 1937 in Estill County, Kentucky, to Lewis and Jeanette Winburn Wilson, Joyce spent most of her adult life in Berea and later in Englewood, Florida.
    She was preceded in death by her two husbands; Coleman Cornelison and Levi Cox.
    Joyce was a loving mother to her four children; Beverly Cornelison McChesney (Jim), Ronald Cornelison (Yvonne), Tanya Cornelison Floyd, and Lori Cornelison Terry (Wallace). She is also survived by nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren.
    Joyce loved and found joy in all the children she interacted with in life, whether family or not, and always was a safe haven to the friends of her children.
    Joyce is also survived by three siblings, Doris Gover, Sue Vonderbrink, and Lewis Wilson II.
    The family also wishes to acknowledge Wanda Rush, for the wonderful care she provided Joyce in her last years.
    A kind person to everyone she encountered, Joyce enriched the lives of her family, neighbors and friends. She was a long-time employee of Dresser Industries, a Kentucky Colonel, and a charitable member of several Baptist church locations.
    Funeral services were held Monday October 16, 2023 at Lakes Funeral Home in Berea at 1 p.m, Burial was in the Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation was from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
    Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were Wallace Terry, Jim McChesney, Dustin Cornelison, Chase Terry, Nick Wallhausser, Jeff Hall, Josh Thompson, Patrick Adams, and Dwight Gover.
    In lieu of flowers, Joyce’s family requests that donations be sent to Tidewell Hospice of Florida (tidewellhospice.org), or to a hospice of your choice.

Diana Gail Elam

    Diana Gail Elam, age 78, widow of Donald Elam, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Saint Joseph Hospital, Lexington.
    She was born in Powell County, October 17, 1944 to the late Emmitt Lee and Elizabeth Emily Tipton Everman. Diana was a member of the Stanton Presbyterian Church.
    Survivors include a daughter, Robin Elam Perry; a son, Donald Emmitt Elam; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Perry Jr., Kaitlyn Campbell (Dalton), Justin Perry, Chris Elam, Matthew Elam, and Rebecca Elam; and a great granddaughter, Lauren Campbell.
    She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald Elam.
    Services were held Saturday, October 14, 2023, 6 p.m., at Stanton Presbyterian Church. Visitation was held Saturday after 5 p.m. at the church.
    Burial was in Stanton Cemetery with Donnie Jent, Dalton Campbell, Anthony Knox, Rick O’Brian, Jared Cockrell, and Troy Brooks serving as pallbearers.

Annalean Herron

    Annalean Herron, age 72, of Clay City, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2023.
    She was born December 10, 1950 in Ransom, Pike County, Kentucky, to Anthony and Mary Coleman. She was a retired Care Giver and was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
    Annalean is survived by a daughter, Tara Fields (Sam); three grandchildren, Anthony Daugherty (Liz), Summer Daugherty (Jacob), and Zachery Fields; four great grandchildren Marvin Fields, Aubree Daugherty, Peytann Frye, and Sadie Frye; a brother, Anthony Coleman Jr. (Helen); and three nieces, Katherine Coleman, Amy Coleman and Carrie Russell.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Mary Coleman; and a brother, Danny Coleman.
    A graveside service was be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the Coleman Cemetery in Ransom, Pike County, Kentucky.

Dextral Horn

    Dextral Horn, age 80, of Winchester Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023, at his home following a long illness.
    He was born March 13, 1943, in Estill County and was the son of the late Buell and Clara Newton Horn. He was the owner of Horn’s Excavating and Trucking and he attended the Williams Memorial Baptist Church. He was a member of the Irvine Masonic Lodge #137 and of the 32 Degree Scottish Rite. He had lived in Estill County all his life.
    Mr. Horn is survived by his wife, Wanda Lene Thomas Horn; one son: Dwayne Kevin Horn of Estill County; two brothers: Jerry Lee Horn of Florida and Darrell Lynn Horn of Estill County.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Mitchell Horn.
    Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, October 18, 2023, 11 a.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Chris Winkler officiating. Burial was at the West Irvine Cemetery. Visitation was held Tuesday, October 17th from 6-9 p.m.
    Pallbearers were Everett Marshall, Johnathan Marshall, David Horn, Ethan Nichols, Teddy Hunt, and Kelby Horn.

    Mathew Emanuel Lee, age 82, of Clay City, Kentucky, departed this life Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the Georgetown Community Hospital.
    He was born August 8, 1941 in Clay City to the late Noah and Irene Sams Lee. He was a retired elevator repairman, a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Full Gospel Lighthouse Church.
    Mr. Lee is survived by two sons, Darin Lee (Norma) and Duane Lee (Carol); five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Gloyd Lee and Sammy Lee; six sisters, Louise Merion (Derek), Bonnie Derickson (Henry), Mattie Wasson, Tammy Snyder, Wilma Stokley, and Charlotte Sparks; and a host of nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents Noah and Irene Sams Lee; four brothers, Noah Lee Jr., Rondall Lee, Jerry Lee, and Gary Lee; and a sister, Glenda Taylor.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at the Full Gospel Light House Church in Clay City with Bro. Paul Day and Bro. Sammy Faulkner officiating. Visitation was held Tuesday, October 17th from 5-8 p.m. at the Church. Burial was in the Salem Cemetery.

Betty Rae Marshall

    Betty Rae Marshall, age 63, of Shirdell Drive in Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, following a short illness.
    She was born February 24, 1960, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Andrew and Ida Mae Bowles Begley. She was a homemaker and a member of the Irvine Nazarene Church. She had lived in Estill County most of her life.
    Mrs. Marshall was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Marshall.
    She is survived by one son, Clarence Andrew “Drew” Dixon (Ceclie) of Estill County; two sisters, Joyce Carol Begley and Sandy Begley Smith (Gary), both of Madison County; one brother, Billy Ray Begley of Estill County; and two grandchildren, Nancy and Trinity Dixon.
    Funeral services were conducted Saturday, October 21, 2023, 12 Noon, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home with Bro. James Webster officiating. Burial was at the Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation was held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to service time at 12 Noon at the Funeral Home.

Bessie Lee McDaniel

    Bessie Lee McDaniel was born August 8, 1937 in Estill County, Kentucky, and departed this life Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond at the age of 86. She was the daughter of the late Jasper and Lula Ree Marcum Tipton and lived her early life on Tipton Ridge Road at Millers Creek.
    Bessie is survived by a son, Marshall Francis Gerhke of Florida; two daughters, Dawn Florence Thill of Iowa and Hope Edwina Harlan of Annville. She was blessed with nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
    In addition to her parents, Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred McDaniel; and by her daughter, Michelle Robin Calvert.
    Bessie was a born-again Christian and was a veteran of the United States Army.
    Graveside services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the McDaniel Cemetery in Annville, Jackson County, Kentucky, with Bro. Steve Gill conducting the service. Members of the Local D.A.V. Jack Welch Chapter #165 conducted military services.

    Bessie Mae Lamb Kelley Adkins Neal, age 80, of Eli Sparks Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023, at the Irvine Nursing and Rehab Center following a long illness.
    She was born March 18, 1943, in Madison County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late James W. Lamb and Agnes Gross Lamb. She was a homemaker and attended the New Bethel Baptist Church #2. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
    Mrs. Neal was preceded in death by her husband, Grant Neal, and she is survived by three daughters, Jennifer Brewer (Brian) of Wolfe County; Rhonda Puckett (Timothy) and Agnes Faye Ross (Donald), both of Estill County; three sons, Stanley Kelley (Sharon), Jimmy Kelley and Billy Kelly (Loretta) , all of Estill County; one sister, Breanda Horn (Bobby) of Cincinnati, Ohio; two brothers: Dawson Lamb (Marie) of Estill County; and Norman Lamb (Marion) of Madison County; a daughter-in-law, Wilma Kelley of Estill County; 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and nine great, great grandchildren; and lots of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; along with special family, the children and grandchildren of Robert “Bo” Williams and Grant Neal.
    In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Richard Kelley; two sisters, Marie Evans and Alberta Wirth; six brothers, Brock, Herman, James “Junebug”, Robert Paul, Billy, and Roger Lamb, and three grandchildren.

William Joseph Reddix, Jr.

    William Joseph Reddix, Jr., age 79, passed away at his home in Stanton, Kentucky on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.
    Bill was born in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, on November 20, 1943, to the late William Joseph Reddix, Sr. and the late Willa Mae Ginter. He attended the Cat Creek Church of Christ and was a former member of the Teamsters Chapter 651. He worked as a Manager for Superior Food Mart.
    In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Janice Meadows Reddix; and his stepdaughter, Glenda Faye Abney.
    He is survived by three sons, Ricky Edward Reddix (Sonya) of Winchester, Timothy Wayne Reddix and Robert Thomas Reddix, both of Richmond; one daughter, Vickie Lynn Moore (Terry) of Winchester; one brother, Ronald Dale Reddix of Cincinnati, Ohio; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
    Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services officiated by Dwaine Meadows were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17th.
    Burial was held at Mount Chapel Cemetery with Billy Hall, Dean Hall, Marty McCoy, Anthony Floyd, Delbert Mullins and Darren Mullins serving as active pallbearers.

    Sonja Dale Crowe Estes Reece, age 81, passed away at her home on Friday, October 13, 2023.
    Sonja was born on Stacy Lane in Estill County on October 30th, 1941, to the late Dewey and Frances Ellen Akers Crowe.
    An avid writer, she co-authored, with her husband Joe, the book “Estill County Schools from 1808-1972,” and worked with the Estill County Historical Society on “200 Years in Pictures” and “Estill County Veterans of World War II”.
    In addition, she contributed to other publications on local history and wrote articles of interest for local newspapers.
    She was a member of Irvine Chapter #357 of the Order of the Eastern Star, Estill County Historical Society, and the South Irvine Baptist Church.
    Sonja was a homemaker, quilter, gardener, dulcimer player, and a proud retiree of the Estill County Soil and Water Conservation District where she spent 13 years as Administrative Secretary.
    She and her husband Joe owned and operated, for many years, Joe Estes Appliance Service, Estes Rabbitry, Orchards and Apiary.
    When her four sons were young, she was an active participant and sponsor in the local 4-H clubs and was very active in events at the Estill County Agricultural Fair.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Edison Joe Estes, by her second husband Riley Reece; and one granddaughter, Beth Sloan.
    Survivors include her four sons, Dennis Joe Estes (Karen) of Richmond, David Odell Estes (Diana) of Waco, Willis Ray Estes (Rebecca) and Walter Scott Estes (Lisa), both of Irvine; special loved ones, Farris Glen Marcum of Irvine and godchildren Joseph and Rebecca Marcum; two sisters, Patricia Elswick of Nicholasville and Tina Myers (Bob) of Richmond; one brother, Dewey Lynn Crowe (Tammy) of Nicholasville; eleven grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.
    Funeral services were conducted Thursday, October 19, 2023, 11 a.m., at the South Irvine Baptist Church with Bro. Donnie Burford officiating. Burial was at the Crowe Cemetery on Stacy Lane Road. Visitation was held on Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home and after 10 a.m., Thursday at the Church.
    Pallbearers were Chris Riddell, Cayden Riddell, Bobby Estes, Dawson Miller, Gordon Sneed and Briton Estes.
    Honorary pallbearers were Scott Riddell, Dakota Riddell and Joseph Marcum.

    Edna Louise Reeves, age 76, of Richmond Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023, at her home.
    She was born April 20, 1947, in Knott County and was the daughter of the late Gurnie and Hattie Mosley Slone. She was retired from Carhartt, Inc. and had lived in Estill County most of her life.
    Mrs. Reeves is survived by one daughter, Michelle Baker (Jack), Columbus, Ohio; four sons, Michael Slone (Eden) of Stanford, Freddie Reeves of Richmond. Kenneth Reeves of Ravenna, and James Reeves of Irvine; two sisters, Ruby Miller of Michigan and Carolyn Hall of Paris; one brother, Gurnie Slone Jr. of Hazard; five grandchildren: Brianna Putthoff (Brian), Alexa Slone, Taylor Reeves, Carlyn Reeves, and Lyla Reeves; and two great grandchildren, Wyatt and Emilie Putthoff.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Reeves; two sisters, Nancy Hejda and Josephine Jennings; and one brother, David Slone.

Norman Earl Rose

    Norman Earl Rose, age 81, of Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Monday, October 9, 2023 at Compassionate Care Center.
    Mr. Rose, the son of the late John Henry and Ellen Rainy Rose, was born in Estill County on February 23, 1942. He retired from General Motors and went on to enjoy years of motorcycling, boating, and spending time with his family.
    He was a United States Army veteran who actively served in the Vietnam War. His service to his country continued with his association with the American Legion.
    He was a wonderful dad, grandfather, and friend. Most importantly, he had recently trusted in Christ for his salvation.
    Survivors include his son, Bryan Rose (Karen) of Taylorsville, Georgia; two grandchildren, Skyler Rose (Aisling) and Gavin Rose; and two great grandchildren, Brexley Rose and Torren Rose. He is also survived by his brother, Dan Rose (Barbara); his sister-in-law, Betty Rose; and his nieces and nephews.
    Mr. Rose was also preceded in death by his brother, Troy Rose; and his sisters, Irene Newton, Annalee Hendren and Joetta Prewitt.
    Services were conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, October 16, 2023 at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home in Richmond. A time of visitation began at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ruth Francis “Ruthie” Stegman-Kellogg

    We are sad to announce the passing of Ruth Francis “Ruthie” Stegman-Kellogg of Frankfort, Kentucky. She died at age 52 on Thursday, October 12, 2023.
    Ruthie will be lovingly remembered by her brother, David Stegman. Ruthie will also be fondly remembered by her nephews, Jacob Stegman and Kyle Stegman, her sister-in-law Jammie Stegman, her cousins, Sara and Ricky Shermer, and so many friends. Ruthie was predeceased by her mother, Wendy Stegman, father, Louis Stegman, and her husband, Tony Kellogg.
    For anyone that knew her knew that if she was your friend then you had the most loyal, selfless, amazing person who would be there for you in good times and in bad. She was passionate in everything she did and made the people around her feel like they were the most important person. She lived her life with a little bit of sparkle, sass, sarcasm, and fun.
    Everyone who knew Ruthie understood she never wanted anyone to make a fuss over her. Therefore, it was her wish to not have a memorial service or a celebration event.
    Condolences can be made by sending donations to child abuse crisis centers around the Frankfort, Kentucky region.

Raymond “Ray Boo” Tompkins

    Raymond “Ray Boo” Tompkins, age 72, husband of Sue Warner Tompkins, passed away Friday, October 13, 2023, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, Kentucky, surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer.
    Ray was born in Berea, Kentucky on August 12, 1951, to the late Frank and Imogene Smith Tompkins of McKee, Kentucky. He was a graduate of Jackson County High School and a member of McKee Reformed Church. He lived in McKee most of his life till he moved to Berea in 2008.
    His work career began at the early age of twelve years old, when he worked for his grandpa Jim Tompkins, founder of the Jackson County Sun newspaper in McKee, Ray was very proud of that, and thirty-five years for the Okonite Cable Company in Richmond, Kentucky.
    Ray is survived by his wife Sue; a son, Ramey Jack Tompkins of Berea, daughters, Kristy Fortney (Wendell) of Waco, Candy Hampton (John) of London, Kentucky, and Cassie Bowling of Beattyville, stepdaughter, Denise Ballard (Mike) of Richmond, a stepson, Ronnie Rice Jr. (Lisa) of Berea, two sisters, Brenda Hays (Dennis) of McKee and Jenny Lovins (Jim) of Berea; three brothers, Benny Tompkins (Carolyn) of Lexington, Roger Tompkins of Berea, and John Tompkins of McKee; several grandkids, great grandkids, nieces and nephews, also survive.
    In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Shirley Warner and brother-n-law John Warner.

    Jean Berryman Woods, age 96, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.
    Born in Clark County, Kentucky on November 25, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Lula Bush Berryman. She was a homemaker and a member of Corinth Christian Church of Estill County.
    Survivors include three daughters, Wilma Baker, Janet Kiser (Jim), and Wanda Bell; a sister, Polly Sperlich; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, several extended family members, and numerous friends.
    Visitation was from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m., Friday, October 13, 2023, at Scobee Funeral Home in Winchester by Dr. Sherri Shannon. Burial followed in the Winchester Cemetery.
    Pallbearers were GT Shannon, Dave Hendren, Matthew Shuy, Doug Ashcraft, Greg Arvin, and Robbie Yates.

    Nita passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023 at the age of 70 after a brief illness due to complications from surgery.
    She was a native of Estill County, born August 5, 1953, the daughter of the late Cornelius Washington “Neal” and Viola Maureen Moore Bryant, and was preceded in death by a brother, Neal “Butch” Bryant.
    She worked as a 911 dispatcher while living in Florida and later as an L3 at the Bluegrass Army Depot at Avon from which she retired.
    She is survived by a niece, Emily Orndorff; and a nephew, Matthew Bryant.

    Ricky Lynn Allen, age 68, husband of Mable Allen of Stanton, Kentucky, passed away at the Lee County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Beattyville on Sunday, October 8, 2023.
    Ricky was born in Middletown, Ohio, on March 13, 1955, to the late Eugene Allen and the late Imogene Sallie Allen. Ricky loved Bluegrass music, western movies and television shows and old cars, especially 57 Chevys.
    Through the years, he worked for Hinkle Contracting Company as a heavy equipment operator, as a Police Dispatcher for Powell County and for three terms as a Powell County Constable. Ricky was a former member of the Kentucky Friends of the Bluegrass.
    In addition to his parents, Ricky was preceded in death by three brothers, Gary Allen, Danny Allen, and Emery C. Dunn; and one sister, Brenda Shanks.
    In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Cory Allen and Ricky Allen, both of Stanton; one daughter, Stephanie Allen of Stanton; two granddaughters, Kennedy Allen of Mount Sterling and Zoey Campbell of Stanton; one brother, Larry Allen (Susie) of Stanton; and one sister, Sharon Redmon of Stanton.
    Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton. Funeral services officiated by Anthony Molihan will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12th.
    Burial will be held at Resthaven Cemetery with Charlie Parks, Thomas Cook, Robbie Dunn, Wilgus Sallie, Dylian Wilson and Linville Willoughby serving as active pallbearers.
    Honorary pallbearers are current and former employees of the Hinkle Contracting Company, members of the Kentucky Friends of the Bluegrass and Hondo Hearne.

    Robert Stanley Jenks, Jr., age 62, husband of Kimberly Mullin Jenks, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023 at his home.
    He was born August 13, 1961 in Fulton, New York to the late Robert Stanley Jenks and the late Margaret Bartlett Gilbo.
    Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Lee Jenks; three daughters, Christy Thomas, Jessica Spicer, and Tammy Boyd; two brothers, David Bartlett and Trampis Jenks; four sisters, June Weldin, Roberta Reed, Waneda Jenks, and Pearl Lafave; and five grandchildren, Brianna Boyd, Lillie Boyd, Sadie Spicer, Kenslee Puckett, and Lincoln Spicer.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jamie Bartlett; and a granddaughter, Adaliene Spicer.
    Services will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2023, 3:00 p.m., Wells Funeral Home, 777 West College Avenue, Stanton, by Bro. Paul Day. Visitation will be held Wednesday 12:00 Noon until service time at 3:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

    Damon Mitchell Adams, age 87, of Stanton, Kentucky, passed into the arms of Jesus on Saturday morning, October 7, 2023.
    Damon was born in Powell County, Kentucky on May 30, 1936, the eldest son of the late Thomas Otto and the late Beatrice Abner Adams. He was a retired Master Sargeant after 20 years of service in the United States Air Force. He was one of 40 men tasked with the design and development of the B-1 Bomber. After retiring, he moved back to Stanton, and opened Adams HVAC, working for over 40 years in his business. He was a long-time member of the Stanton Christian Church.
    In addition to his parents, Damon was preceded in death by his wife, Mavis Hall Adams; and one brother, Karl Adams.
    He is survived by his two daughters, Carla Opperman (Jake) and Candie Baker (Doug); his two sons, Bill Adams (Connie) and David Adams (Patty); eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; one sister, Treva Brewer; one brother, Linville Adams (Janet); several nieces and nephews, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and one special adopted dog “Scruffy”.
    Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton. Funeral services officiated by Brother Greg Webb will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday after visitation.
    Burial will be held at Kennon Cemetery in Clay City with Kris Adams, Brad Stone, Roger Stone, Brian Billings, Daniel Hall, and Gary Asch III serving as active pallbearers.

    William “Trevor” Cornett of Ravenna, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the age of 37.
    Trevor was born August 8, 1986, to Connie Cornett of Ravenna, and Gary Robinson of Irvine.
    In addition to his parents, he is survived by his three children, one brother, and one sister.
    Trevor was loved by his family and friends and fought hard until the end.
    He was preceded in death by his granny, Eva Cornett; and his papaw, Irvin Cornett.
    The family will hold a memorial service at South Irvine Cemetery Saturday, October 28th at 2:00 p.m.

    Thomas Jackson Voils, age 86, of Winchester, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023.
    He was born in Lincoln County, Kentucky to the late Benjamin and Elizabeth Kinney Voils on September 11, 1937. He was a long-time resident of Winchester, retired from Bundy Tubing, and was a member of UAW 1937.
    Mr. Voils is survived by a daughter, Karen Flack (Jack); a son, Ricky Voils; grandchildren: Jennifer Tussey (Mike), Shawn Oliver, David Voils and Jamie Ballard (Justin); and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
    He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Lily Lane Voils.
    A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., at the White Shelter in Winchester Cemetery.

    Phyllis Jacobs, 84 of Stanton passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023.
    She was born June 4, 1939 in Dresden, Ohio, to Earl Ashcraft and Marilee “Asa” Williams. She was a factory worker and attended the Mill Knob Baptist Church.
    Mrs. Jacobs is survived by two daughters, Brenda Cooper (Jeff Marcum) and Nancy Mangold (Ted); 14 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild; a brother, Ronald Ashcraft; and two sisters, Karen Schirtzinger and Judy Graves.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Ashcraft and Marilee “Asa” Williams; her husbands, Robert Farnworth, Kenneth Murray and Harold Jacobs Sr.; a daughter, Terri Shahan; three grandchildren, Krista Tatro, Asa Workman, and Matthew Marcum; and two brothers, James Ashcraft and Gary Ashcraft.
    A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
    The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice East for all they do.

    Janie Carol Mosley, age 67, of Sadieville, Kentucky, passed away at Grandhaven Nursing Home on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.
    Janie was born in Beattyville, Kentucky on September 22, 1956, to the late Ralph Martin and the late Trudy Schaefer Martin. Janie loved her grandchildren deeply. She attended Beattyville Christian Church. Through the years she worked for Toyota, as a Dental Hygienist, as a Laboratory Technician for Quest Diagnostics and LabCorp and had her Real Estate License.
    In addition to her parents, Janie was preceded in death by her husband, Randy Mosley; her son, Israel Shane Mills; and one grandchild, Brianna Mills.
    She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Mills Gerber of Georgetown; her brother, Anthony Martin (Teresa) of Nicholasville; and four grandchildren, Dustin Gerber, Taylor Gerber, Brooke Mills and Bridgette Mills.
    Visitation was held from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services officiated by Brother Hartwell Neal were held at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday after visitation.

    She was born July 21, 2023, in Madison County and was the daughter of Tayshawn Douglas Tate and April Renee McIntosh.
    In addition to her parents, she is survived by her grandparents, Latanya West, Earl Estes Jr., both of Estill County; and Tina Sizemore of Madison County; her great grandmother, Teresa Gordon of Estill County; her great, great grandmother, Emma Mitchell of Estill County; one brother, Treshawn Lee Tate; and several aunts and uncles.
    Funeral services were conducted Saturday, October 7, 2023, 12:00 Noon, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at the Flatwoods Cemetery. Visitation was held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon.

    Mr. Miller is survived by two daughters, Raven Miller and Jaden Miller, both of Jessamine County; one son, Kolton Gregory Dean Miller; and one sister, Teresa Miller-Ruiz (Anthony) of Estill County.

    Clarence Wallace Sr., age 95, of Winston Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2023, at his home, following a long illness.
    He was born March 9, 1928, in Morehead, Kentucky and was the son of the late Elick and Sarah Hicks Wallace. He was a retired Logger, Construction Worker, Farmer, and Sawmill Owner. He was of the Baptist Faith, and he had lived in Estill County for most of his life.
    Mr. Wallace is survived by his wife, Emma Jane Mays Wallace; three daughters, Sarah Knoll of Estill County; Patti Alfrey of Fayette County; and Marry Ann Spencer (Norman) of Michigan; four sons, Clarence Wallace Jr. of Fayette County; Shannon Mays, Randall “Butch” Wallace (Pauline), both of Estill County; and Roger Wallace (Delores) of Madison County; one brother, Homer Wallace of Farmers, Kentucky; one stepdaughter, Pauline Riddell of Estill County; and several grand, great, great-great, and great-great-great grandchildren.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Pauline Ratliff; two sons, Billy Ray Wallace and Gerald Wallace; four sisters, Barbara Black, Margaret Mynhier, Bessie Webb, and Alberta Smith; and five brothers, Sylvon “Pete”, William, Lloyd, Chalmer, and Melvin Wallace.
    Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, October 4, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill VanWinkle officiating. Burial was at the Wallace Cemetery. Visitation was held Tuesday, October 3rd from 6-9 p.m.
