Ralph Bowen, 91

Ralph Bowen, age 91, of Stanton, Kentucky, passed into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, November 11, 2023.
He was born in Powell County, Kentucky, on November 19, 1931, to the late Clayton Bowen and the late Roxie Darrell Bowen. He was a United States Army Veteran who served in the Korean War.
Ralph was known for his carpentry skills and had the honor of building Rick Pitino’s home when he coached for the University of Kentucky. He valued his church attendance at Grace Bible Church in Winchester and considered it to be an essential aspect of his life.
In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Morton Bowen; one brother, Victor Bowen; and four sisters, Laura Ann Robinson, Dixie Sue Hall, Lillian Powell, and Marie Netherley.
He is survived by one son, Dana Alan Bowen of Winchester; one step-son, Timmy Tipton (Pam) of Stanton; one daughter, Sheila June Singleton (Don) of Lexington; one step-daughter, Lisa Adams (Greg) of Clay City; one brother, Damon Bowen (Beverly) of Stanton; one sister, Violet Bowen of Rockledge, Florida; two grandchildren, Nicole Singleton and Shay Stratton; four step-grandchildren, Martin Tipton (April), Hannah Tipton Parsons (Josh), Jonathan Adams (Jodie) and Brittany Adams Billings (Patrick Younts).
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services officiated by Rev. Lee Cruse were held at the funeral home at 1 p.m. on Tuesday after visitation.
Burial was held at Stanton Cemetery in Stanton with Lonnie Dale Stewart, Jonathan Adams, Timmy Tipton, Patrick Younts, Larry Mittleman, and Ed Razor serving as active pallbearers.
Charlene Vires, 53

Charlene Vires, wife of Mark Vires, age 53, of Clay City, Kentucky, passed away at UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky on Saturday, November 11, 2023.
She was born in Campton, Kentucky on December 2, 1969, to the late William Anderson and Joyce Townsend Anderson. Charlene deeply loved her husband and cherished her son and grandchildren. She had a passion for taking care of children and was highly skilled in crafting. Charlene’s warm and cheerful personality was contagious, and she always had a smile on her face.
In addition to her husband and mother, Charlene is survived by her son, William Jonathan Vires (Bethylin) of Clay City; three brothers, James Anderson (Rhodea), Mark Anderson, and Johnny Ray Anderson, all of Mount Sterling; one sister, Janice Reed (James) of Stanton; and three grandchildren, Freyja Vires, Avalene Vires, and Gracie-Lynn Vires.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Memorial services will be held at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, immediately following visitation.
Betty Lou Berryman, 89

Betty Lou Berryman, widow of Jack Berryman, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023 at the age of 89.
She was the daughter of the late Chester and Pearl Pope Gibson. Born in Clark County on January 31, 1934, she graduated from Trapp Elementary and Clark County High School.
Betty is survived by three sons, Bill Berryman (Amy), Keith Berryman (Sandra), and Brad Berryman (Susan); four grandchildren, Brian Berryman, Whitney Hood (Josh), Janelle Danis (Isaiah), and Jennifer Howard (Taylor), a step-granddaughter, Merritt Combs (Jacob); nine great grandchildren, Jack & Gracie Berryman; Ella & Avery Hood; Tate, Calloway, & Carden Howard; Rhett Danis and Ben Combs.
She was a faithful member of Liberty Bible Church and had previously taught Sunday School for 3 & 4 year olds for many years, often the second generation of children.
Mrs. Berryman was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; three sisters, Ruth, Midge, & Jo Ann; and two brothers, Chester & Bill.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. at Liberty Bible Church.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Liberty Bible Church of God, 6615 Veterans Memorial Parkway, Winchester, by Brother Bill Konstantopoulos and Brother Anthony Molihan. Burial will follow at the Winchester Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brian Berryman, Josh Hood, Isaiah Danis, Taylor Howard, Mike Kindred, and Doug Gabbard.
Faye Noland, 87

Faye Noland, age 87, a resident of the Irvine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023, at the Center following a long illness.
She was born February 22, 1936, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Carl and Hazel Trimble Powell. She was retired from the Dollar General Store and was a member of the White Oak Church of God. She had lived in Estill County most of her life.
Mrs. Noland is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Anderson (Larry) of Florida; one brother, Homer Powell of Ohio; two grandchildren, Adam and Shade Maggard; and four great grandchildren, Serinadee Maggard, Hitey Maggard, Ciaira Maggard, and Asher Wolf Maggard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Noland; one sister, Imagene Drew; and three brothers, Henry, Buddy, and Elwood Powell.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 13, 2023, 1 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Glyndon Woosley officiating. Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11 a.m. to service time at 1 p.m.

Lula B. Sewell, age 85, of Irvine, Kentucky, departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at the Irvine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on February 21, 1938, in Irvine, Kentucky to the late Lemon and Callie Horn Estes.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sewell was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul Douglas Sewell; two brothers, Charles Estes and Lemon "Junior" Estes Jr.; two sisters, Lois Walters and Anna Mae Walters; and one great grandson, Cameron.
Survivors include her three daughters, Paula Norris (Larry), Marcia Lane (Chris), and Lorna Lunsford (Wayne); four grandchildren, Ashley, Brittany, Chealsea, and Kim; seven great grandchildren, Cambria, Jacob, Julia, Magnolia, Bradyn, Desirae, and Ashton; two great, great grandchildren, Hallie and Natalie; bonus grand and great grandchildren who loved her like there own; two brothers, Paul Estes and Bobby Estes: two sisters, Emma Dennis and Carrie Sewell; along with numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends to miss her and mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Lula B. Sewell will be conducted on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lewis Home for Funerals. Brother Linville Dunaway will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Fielder Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until the time of services at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
The pallbearers will be Kyle, Kory, and Joseph Estes; Billy and Tommy Walters; and Danny Sewell.

Ronald Warren Lanter, age 81, of Waco, Kentucky, the husband of Joyce Cain Lanter, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
Ronald was born in Estill County, Kentucky on March 20, 1942, the son of the late Arnold and Jane Ellington Lanter. He was a member of the Providence Baptist Church in Estill County and was a retired employee of The EnerSys Company of Richmond.
Survivors include his wife Joyce of Waco, Kentucky and one son, Keith Lanter (Robin) of Paint Lick, Kentucky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd Lanter and Boyd Lanter; and a sister, Ima Lou Barnes, as well as a sister, Josephene Lanter, who died at the age of three.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, November 19, 2023, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, 328 West Main Street in Richmond. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery at Waco. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m., Sunday afternoon, prior to the funeral service.

Billy Lindon Stamper, 81

Billy Lindon Stamper, age 81, of Irvine, Kentucky, departed this life on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at home in Estill County.
He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 4, 1942, to the late Enoch Stamper Jr. and Myrtle Tudor Stamper.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Johnny, Ernest, James, and LaVaughn Stamper; three sisters-in-law, Carolyn Faircloth, Betty Stamper, and Delores Stamper; and one brother-in-law, Lee Crafton Sr.
Billy was a soldier in the United States Army, Kentucky National Guard for 6 years, honorably discharged as a Sergeant on January 8, 1967. He was ordained as a pastor on September 20, 2014, and has been a member and pastor of New Bethel Baptist Church #1 for the last ten years.
He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandpa, uncle, and friend. Billy’s favorite thing in this life was being a pastor. He loved New Bethel Baptist Church #1 and the church family. He loved his wife, his girls, and his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Paulette Harris Stamper; his daughters, Sarah Elizabeth Shepperson (Donnie) and Ginny Lynn Bryant (Kris); two grandchildren, Kaeli Elizabeth Bryant and Dylan Lyndon Bryant; one brother; Donald Gene Stamper; one sister, Virginia Catherine Crafton; and a special niece and nephew, Kelli Robinson and Aaron Stamper; as well as many other nieces, nephews, family and friends who will miss him in this life.
Funeral Services for Billy L. Stamper will be conducted on Saturday, November 11, 2023, in the chapel of Lewis Home for Funerals at 1 p.m. with Brother Aaron Stamper officiating. Interment will follow at the Hoover Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 10th at the Funeral Home from 6-9 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Bryant, Donnie Shepperson, Justin Robinson, John Robinson, Michael Flanagan and Terry Arvin.

James Willoughby, age 51, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
He was born March 11, 1972 in Lexington, Kentucky, to Andy Turner and Deborah Plowman Crouch.
Mr. Willoughby is survived by a son, Kenneth Willoughby; a grandchild, Madison Willoughby; a brother, Donnie Crouch; a sister, Danielle Crouch (David Owen); and three nieces, Debreona Powell, Shelby Owen and Madlynn Crouch.
He was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Deborah and Donnie Crouch.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Friday, November 10, 2023 at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel in Irvine with Bro. Jerry Rose officiating. Friends visited Friday from 11 a.m. till time of the service. Burial was in the Pea Ridge Cemetery.

Ora McIntosh, age 93, widow of James "Jim" McIntosh, passed away Monday, November 6, 2023 at her residence in Clay City, Kentucky.
She was born Thursday, April 17, 1930 in Wolfe County, Kentucky, to the late Johnnie and Lucy Pence Hollon. A homemaker, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mrs. McIntosh is survived by two daughters, Shirley Christopher and Annette Tipton (Ray); five grandchildren, Dawan Hart (Todd), Christy Tipton, Amy McIntosh, Anthony McIntosh, and Gary Christopher; eight great grandchildren, Logan Hart, Conner Hart, Tyler Shearer, Courtney Rice, Whitney Moore (Tylor), Emily Bennett, Makayla Noland (Christian), Janson McIntosh, and Lucas Christopher; and two great, great grandchildren, Olivia Shearer and Kate Moore.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Johnnie McIntosh and Paul McIntosh; and a great-grandson, Cameron McIntosh.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Wells Funeral Home in Stanton with Bro. Rob Rice officiating. Visitation was held on Thursday, beginning at 10 a.m. for family and 11 a.m. for friends.
Burial followed the funeral at Powell's Valley Cemetery with Todd Hart, Conner Hart, Logan Hart, Anthony McIntosh, Tyler Shearer, and David Tipton serving as active pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers included Linda & Stanley Knox, Connie & Hugh Reed, Raymond & Cindy Goodwin, and Brenda McKinney.
Belinda Kay Dooley Sparks, 60

Belinda Kay Dooley Sparks, age 60, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away at Baptist Health Hospital of Lexington on Monday, November 6, 2023, after a strong battle against brain cancer.
She was born July 22, 1963 in Clay County, Kentucky and was the daughter of late Billy Ray Dooley and Lola Stepp Dooley. Belinda was a supply chain coordinator at the Marcum and Wallace Hospital. She has been a life-long resident of Estill County and was a member of Church of the Living God in Winchester, Kentucky.
Belinda loved a good cup of coffee and casual porch time to visit. She was proud to attract more hummingbirds than anyone and looked forward to them each year. She was a strong-hearted woman with the fight of a warrior. She set an example to work hard, find joy in the simple things, and always “B” Strong.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Sparks; one son, Jeremy Sparks (Tiffany); two sisters, Regina Watson (Bruce) and Carolyn Estes (Tommy); three brothers, Douglas Dooley (Debbie), Billy Dooley (Leslie), and Keith Dooley (Melinda); two brothers-in-law, Gary Sparks and Danny Marcum; nieces and nephews, Kasandra Mize (Logan), Tyler Watson (Jimmi Lynn), Brent Estes (Courtney), Chris Estes (Angie), Dedra Freeman (Chase), Dustin Dooley (LeAnna), Claysen Dooley, Haley Dunaway (Jacob), Jonathon Dooley, Brandon Vanderpool, Braxton Dooley, Jessica Kirby (Brian), and Brandon Sparks (Heather); and great-nieces/nephews, Raylen Mize, Rylee Mae Mize, Bo Watson, Tyler Jean Watson, Brayden Estes, Austin Estes, Peyton Estes, Waylon Estes, Lola Dooley, James Dooley, Meredith Dooley, Levi Dooley, Ella Kirby, Abby Kirby, and Bryson Sparks.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a nephew, Bradley Watson; and a sister-in-law, Renaye Marcum.

Alice Townsend, age 67, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023.
She was born in Madison County, Kentucky, July 10, 1956 to Willie and Dora Smith Cox. She was a Census worker.
Mrs. Townsend is survived by her husband, Creed Townsend; a son, Matthew Glen Townsend; two daughters, Belinda Hunt (Ray) and Julie Brooks; four grandchildren; a brother, Ivan Everett (Nancy); and several sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two children, Heather and Hester Townsend.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel in Irvine, with Bro. Sidney Sparks officiating. Friends visited Wednesday from 11 a.m. till time of the service. Burial was in the Crowe Cemetery.

Nancy Sue Bowling was born February 9, 1955 in Clark County, Kentucky and departed this life Friday November 3, 2023 at her residence in Tyner, Kentucky; being 68 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Dan and Sarilda Burton Sparks.
Nancy is survived by her husband, James Bowling of Tyner; two children, Vincent Bowling (Rita) of Annville, and Tiffany Disciplina (Jesus "Chuy") of Versailles; the following sibblings, William Charles Sparks (Marie) of Annville, Roy Dan Sparks (Sherry) of Richmond, Indiana; Jessie Ray Sparks of Gray, James Elbert Sparks (Brenda) of Annville, and Mary Lillie Gabbard of Irvine; and by seven grandchildren.
Other than her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by a brother, Ben Sparks; and a sister, Cindy Sparks.
Funeral services for Nancy Sue Bowling were at 1 p.m., Tuesday November 7, 2023 at the Lakes Funeral Home Chapel in McKee, with Tiffany Disciplina officiating and burial in the Mullins Cemetery. Visitation was held at 6 p.m., Monday November 6th at the Funeral Home.

Scotty James Farthing, age 59, died Friday, October 27, 2023 in Edgewater, Florida.
Scotty was born on January 1st, 1964 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Charles Jr. and Betty Cole Farthing.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia; three brothers, Kenny, Michael, and Joey Farthing; his sons, grandchildren, cousins, and close friends.
Scotty was born and raised in Cincinnati but spent many summers in Irvine, Kentucky with his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He graduated from Northwest High School in Cincinnati in 1982.
Scotty was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Cole Farthing, and his father, Charles Farthing Jr.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 12 Noon, at the Walton Cemetery in Irvine, Kentucky, where many of his family are buried, including his Mom, Dad, Grandmother, Grandfather, Aunt, Uncle, and Cousins. Pastor Ricky Kirby will officiate the service.

Jeanette Renee Tiemeyer, age 54, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023.
She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, February 23, 1969 to James Michael and Marilyn Melrose Nunnelley.
Mrs. Tiemeyer is survived by her husband, Timothy Tiemeyer; four step-sons, Timothy Tiemeyer Jr., George Tiemeyer, Steven Tiemeyer, and Brandon Hammonds; two daughters, Jessica Winchester (Chris) and Ida Smith (Chris); a stepdaughter, Misty Ware; three grandchildren, MahKaylan, Clifton, and Hunter; and several loved step-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held at 10 a.m., Thursday, November 9, 2023 at the Community Restoration Church in Irvine.

Rhonda Lynette Stevens, age 55, of Irvine, Kentucky departed this life on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at her home.
She was born on April 1, 1968, in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Dana Hoover and Karen Harmon Rogers.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her son, Bradley Myers; and her granddaughter, Abigail.
Survivors include, along with her mother; a special friend, James Fields; her son, Stephen Myers (Tiffany); three grandchildren, Savannah, Madison, and Emily; three brothers, Steven, Jody, and James Hoover; and one sister, Bekki Hoover; along with numerous other relatives and friends to miss her and mourn her passing.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Samuel K. Spencer of Big Andy Ridge Road, Rogers, Kentucky, beloved husband of Helen Wright Spencer, departed this life Friday, November 3, 2023 at the age of 70 years, 5 months and 19 days.
He was a son of the late Chester Spencer and Birtie Blackburn Spencer born in Wolfe County, Kentucky, on May 15, 1953. He was a former construction worker.
Mr. Spencer is survived by his beloved wife, Helen Wright Spencer of Big Andy Ridge Road, Rogers, Kentucky; one son, Samuel David Spencer (Stacy) of Clay City; one daughter, Donna Helton of Rogers, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Lucas Spencer (Stephanie), Logan Spencer, Victoria Spencer, Christopher Helton (Christa) and Timothy Helton (Kayla); five great grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Spencer of Germantown, Ohio; and Silas Spencer of Rogers, Kentucky; and one sister, Glayda Coomer of Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Spencer and Birtie Blackburn Spencer; two brothers, Eugene Spencer and Marion Spencer; and three sisters, Anna Mae Spencer, Sylvia Spencer and Martha Ann Spencer. He also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Porter and Son Funeral Services, 769 East Main Street, Campton, followed by funeral services at 1 p.m., officiated by Bro. Frank Bryant.

Joan Webb Hughes, age 94, of Irvine, Kentucky departed this life on Thursday, November 2, 2023, after a lengthy illness.
She was born on January 29, 1929, in Irvine, Kentucky to the late Richard Hood Webb and Grace Murphy Webb.
Ms. Hughes attended Kentucky Wesleyan College in Winchester until it moved to Owensboro in 1951, at which point she finished her teaching degree at Eastern Kentucky University. She was a retired teacher with the Estill County school system where she taught 1st and 3rd grade for 33 years. After retirement she continued working as a substitute teacher for the Estill County school system. She loved her family, teaching, shopping, and her cats. She was a member of the River Drive Christian Church for many years, until her health declined making it difficult for her to attend.
She is survived by her loving son, James Hood Hughes and his wife, Elizabeth Abney Hughes; two special cousins, Edna Grace Murphy and Dickie Murphy, and her best buddy and caregiver, Shirley Stamper; along with numerous other relatives and friends to miss her and mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Joan Webb Hughes will be conducted on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 3 p.m. at the White Oak Church of God. Brother Glyndon Woosley will be officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 3 p.m. at the church.
Pallbearers will be Earl Young, Raymond Conrad, Glyndon Woosley Jr., David Harrison, James Gross, and Todd Reece.

Arvetta L. Shuler, age 82, Beattyville, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the Marcum and Wallace Hospital in Irvine.
She was born February 28, 1941 in Dakota, West Virginia, a daughter to the late Claude Spencer and Mary Greene Spencer. She was a homemaker, and as a resident of the Estill County Care and Rehabilitation Center, she enjoyed Bingo and Church Services. She loved her family and spending time with them.
Along with her husband of 64 years, Leroy Shuler, she is survived by four sons, Steve Shuler (Stephanie), Tim Shuler, Josh Shuler, all of Beattyville, and Ethan Shuler of Richmond; three daughters, Sheila Shuler of LaGrange, Missy Henry (Tony) of Winchester, and Chatty Shuler of Lee County; one brother, Ronnie Spencer of Stanton; two sisters, Minnie Knox of Stanton and Emma Barnes of Mt. Sterling; and special friend, Jennifer Whittaker of Irvine; 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, along with many other loving family members and friends.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Lonnie James Spencer; and two sisters, Reola Shuler and Mildred Rose.

Jeremiah Jace Dean Weiland, age 3 months, of Ridge Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2023, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.
He was born July 15, 2023, in Fayette County and was the son of Shaunna Marie Weiland.
Survivors in addition to his mother include his grandparents, Kathryn Kahn and Jack Kahn, both of Indiana; and his brother, Elijah Albert Allen Gray of Nicholasville.
No services are scheduled at this time.

Steve Welby Stevens, 78

Steve Welby Stevens was born on Barnes Mountain in Irvine, Kentucky on September 18, 1945, and passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at the Veterans Affairs Cooper Division Medical Center in Lexington, at the age of 78.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Evelyn McKinney Stevens and Lander Stevens; his brother, June “Lug” Stevens, and his mother- and father-in-law, Manda Jane and Lerman Newman.
Mr. Stevens is survived by his two sisters, Judy Begley and Louise “Lulu” Bowles; his three nieces, Sheila Stevens, Stacy Ray, and Julie Bowles; his wife, Betty Lou Stevens; their children, Nick and Tonya Stevens, Amy and Jason Bingham, Matthew and CaSondra Stevens, and Kimberly and Steven Sparks; and grandchildren, Saylor and Preston Stevens, Seth and Mason Bingham, and Mackenzie Joseph.
Steve was a foster parent in Lee County for 34 years. He worked for the W.T. Cummings B&C Wholesale in Ravenna, for 33 years. After retiring from B&C Wholesale, he and his wife owned and operated their own novelty and consignment business, B&K Sales in Booneville for several years.
Steve was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, and friend. Every time he was with you, he would ask you about yourself. He was always interested in "you". He made you feel good by always letting you know what an excellent job you were doing. Steve was an encourager, jokester, and all-around lovable person. He was always affectionate, silly, and fun to be around. There was never a time that you would engage in a game of chess, checkers, or a board game that he wanted to win, his competitive spirit would always inspire you to do better. Steve was intelligent and had a lot of knowledge, not only was he brilliant in math but he could give valuable advice. When he loved, he loved with passion. When he bought you a gift, he bought it with passion. When he gave you a compliment you, he made you feel like you could reach for the stars. Steve loved his wife Betty of almost 55 years, there is nothing he wouldn't do or any lengths that he wouldn't go to make her happy. He knew she loved him, and he was thankful for the way she took care of him till the very end. Steve also loved the Lord. He had a wonderful heart. He would always participate in prayer, and he would say there was nothing the Lord couldn't do. Steve will be greatly missed as a husband, father, grandfather and many more roles. Steve's grandkids knew he had a special place for them. He would watch tv shows that made them laugh, play walkie-talkies with them, chess games, and have conversations about knives and guns. They could talk to him about anything and everything! They always enjoyed seeing him. Steve always had a special place in his heart for dogs.
He could see the good in everyone. His witty sense of humor always made people laugh with his silly nicknames and stories.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 6, 2023 from 6-9 p.m. at the Booneville Funeral Home, 3450 Ky Hwy 11 North, Booneville. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 7th at 2 p.m. at the Booneville Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in the High View Cemetery, located in Beattyville,

Frances Mae Caldwell, age 81, of Grindstone Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital, following a long illness.
She was born February 15, 1942, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Pete and Delma Webb Rose. She was a retired Square D employee and a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
Mrs. Caldwell is survived by two grandchildren, Dwight Durbin (Jennifer) and Tonya Beard (Chad); and three great grandchildren, Carter Durbin, Mason Durbin, and Addison Beard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Eugene Caldwell, Sr.; two daughters, Sharon Sue Durbin and Cathy Jean Isaacs; one son, Kenneth Eugene Caldwell, Jr., and two brothers, Howard Garrett and Ray Garrett.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, November 4, 2023, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jason Brooks. Burial was at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation was held on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Pallbearers were Chris Beard, Shaun Beard, Anthony Rose, Barry Rose, Carter Durbin, and Mason Durbin.
Mitsy Jo Clevenger, 76

Mitsy Jo Clevenger, age 76, of Bertha Wallace Drive in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at the Irvine Nursing and Rehab Center, following a long illness.
She was born December 26, 1946, in Lee County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Troy and Agnes Johnson Mays. She retired from the Lee County Board of Education where she worked as a Substitute Teacher. She attended the Pine Crest First Church of God and she had lived in Lee County for all her life.
She is survived by one son, Ian Todd Clevenger of Warren County; two sisters: Lucretia Reese of Estill County; and Betsy Coomer of Madison County; and one brother, Neal Mays of Estill County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Randall Lee Clevenger; and one sister, Marsha Coleman.
A Gathering of Friends was held Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 1-2 p.m. at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel.

Sharon Lynn Conrad Boswell, age 63, of Eli Sparks Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, following a long illness.
She was born January 10, 1960, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Harold and Gladys Fox Conrad. She was a former Seamstress for Carhartt and had lived in Estill County for most of her life.
Mrs. Boswell was preceded in death by her husband, Barry Boswell; and she is survived by one daughter, Sarah Boswell of Estill County.

Shirley Ann Cox, age 77, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023, at the St. Joseph Hospital following a short illness.
She was born July 10, 1946, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Hubert and Ruth Phoenix Walton. She was retired from the Kroger Company and had lived in Lexington most of her life.
Mrs. Cox is survived by two sons, Michael Joseph Cox and David Brent Cox (Tara), both of Lexington; and three grandchildren: Andrew Michael Cox, Brayden Robert Cox, and Colin Brent Cox.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marion E. Cox.
Private burial was held at the Walton Cemetery.

Kaylan Dunn, age 24, of Clay City, Kentucky, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023.
She was born March 19, 1999 in Mt. Sterling to Rondle Dunn and Donna Stone.
Kaylan is survived by her father, Rondle Dunn; her mother, Donna Stone; a daughter, Raelynn Dunn; and three sisters, Jamie McBratney, Jaden McBratney and Madayln McBratney.
Funeral services were held at 12 Noon, Thursday November 2, 2023 at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel in Clay City with Bro. Terry Miller officiating. Friends visited Thursday from 10 a.m. till time of the service. Burial was in the Dunn – Stokley Cemetery.

Teresa G. Reynolds, age 66, of Ravenna, Kentucky, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, October 30, 2023.
Teresa was born on November 3, 1956, at Patty A. Clay in Richmond, Kentucky, to the late Orville and Irene Johnson Gillespie.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her nephew, Roger Dale Doyle Jr., and niece, Makenzie Faucett.
Survivors include her loving husband of 30 years, Charles E. Reynolds; one son, Dustin D. Reynolds; a grandson, Alexavier D. Reynolds; two step-children, Mia Hagan and Sabrina Smith; her best friend and mother, Irene Gillespie; her four sisters, Debbie Watson (Jerry) of Irvine, Lisa Stearman of Richmond (Terry), Pamela Gillespie of Irvine, and Janet Stepp (Steve) of Richmond; along with several family and friends to miss her and mourn her passing.
Teresa was a selfless, beautiful person inside and out. She loved life, her family, cooking, reading, the outdoors and most importantly, she loved taking care of her grandson Alex. She spoke with her best friend and mother every morning while watching her hummingbirds, sharing coffee and cherished talks of the changing seasons and how beautiful the leaves on the trees were. Teresa was always a mother, even to her sisters, and was always taking care of everyone else. She never had an unkind word to say about anyone.
Funeral services for Teresa G, Reynolds were conducted on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Lewis Home for Funerals with Brother Marvin Neal officiating. Interment followed in the Newton Cemetery in Irvine. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until the time of services at 3 p.m.
Pallbearers were Dustin D. Reynolds, Joseph R. Huff, Baley K. Huff, Blake E. Stamper, Steve A. Stepp and William L. Ramey.

Ronnie Wayne Story was born November 28, 1958 in Madison County, and passed on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at 8:04 p.m. in Lexington, Kentucky.
He is survived by his loving mother, Nettie Pearl Power; and his three children, Ronnie Story, Jr. of Berea, Brittany Gordon (Curtis) and Chealsea Nicoulin (Jordan), both of Richmond; six grandchildren, Kennadi, Jacob, Kegan, Julia, Bradyn, and Magnolia; his brother, Kevin Power (Cheryl) of Irvine; his two sisters, Sherie Lancaster (Jesse) of Irvine and Tanya Wemple of Richmond; along with his beloved friend, Norma Sparks; plus, cherished nephews and nieces.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, November 2, 2023, 1 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Bonny officiating. Burial was at the West Irvine Cemetery. Visitation was held on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Billie Lee Sheckler Brock, 78

Billie Lee Sheckler Brock, 78, of Jacksonville, Florida, was suddenly swept home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 26, 2023.
Billie Lee, or Nana as she was known to her grandchildren, was born in Lexington, Kentucky to Frederick Hipp Sheckler, Jr. and Julia Naomi McHargue Sheckler on June 23, 1945. She graduated from Irvine High School and obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Eastern Kentucky University. She married Lindsey Cook Brock Jr. on September 7, 1964, in Irvine Her career was as an elementary educator, teaching and caring for children in five different states for over 30 years.
After her retirement, she dove into her family history, leading to service as an officer and member at the local, state, and national levels of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Sons of the American Revolution, and as a senior officer with the Children of the American Revolution, for which she received numerous awards and accolades.
Billie enjoyed traveling with Lindsey across the country and across the world, from Europe to the Middle East. Her skill as a seamstress lead to gifts of teddy bears, quilts, and all sorts of items. She had the gift of creativity. Family was always the most important thing to Billie. She cherished the times together on holidays, birthdays, or just Sunday lunch after church. You could always count on Billie to make a call, drop a handwritten note, or send an email just to check up on you. She was a loving and caring daughter, wife, mother, and friend to all who knew her. Billie was an example of Christ in compassion and care, always putting the needs of others before herself.
She is preceded in death by Frederick Hipp Sheckler, Jr. and Julia Naomi McHargue Sheckler.
Billie is survived by her husband, Lindsey C. Brock, Jr.; her son, Lindsey C. Brock III (Carol); her brother, Jerry Sheckler (Marly); grandchildren, Connor Brock (Madisyn), Caitlin Wolf (Zachary) and Baby Wolf due to arrive in 2024.
The family of Billie Brock wishes to extend our sincere appreciation to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue crew and emergency room staff at Mayo Clinic.
A celebration of her life was held at 9 a.m., Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd., Jacksonville, Florida 32218, with her son, Lindsey Cook Brock III, officiating.

Allan Scott Richardson, age 71, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, October 26, 2023.
He dedicated his professional life to Eastern Kentucky University, where he managed the bowling alley until his retirement. Born in Irvine, Kentucky, Allan was the son of the late Wayne and Eda Webb Richardson.
Allan is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Hays Richardson; as well as his two sons, Daniel Richardson and Jeffrey Richardson.
Allan served his country in the United States Air Force and was proud to be a veteran.
A graveside service with military honors was held at 2 p.m on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Hays Cemetery in Jackson County. Visitation took place on Monday evening at Lakes Funeral Home in Berea, starting from 5 p.m.
