Sherry McIntosh

    Sherry McIntosh, age 65, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023 at the Marcum and Wallace Hospital.
    She was born February 8, 1958 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Dewy and Doris Watkins. She was a housewife.
    Mrs. McIntosh is survived by her husband, Armster McIntosh; a son, Steven McIntosh; a daughter, Laura Maness; two grandchildren Camron and Travis Cox; and a brother.
    She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lisa Cox.
    No services are planned at this time.

Floyd Moreland, Jr.

    Floyd Moreland, Jr., age 75, of Wisemantown Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, following a long illness.
    He was born May 12, 1948, in Estill County and was the son of the late Floyd and Martha Puckett Moreland. He was a retired CSX employee and a member of the Sandhill Christian Church. He had lived in Estill County all his life.
    Mr. Moreland is survived by his wife, Mildred Ann Arvin Moreland; one son, Algin Moreland (Brooklyn) of Estill County; one sister, Ileen Wolfinbarger of Estill County; and two grandchildren, Reed Algin Floyd Douglas Moreland and Addyson Ann Moreland.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Floyd Douglas Moreland and Jason Howard Moreland; five sisters, Mary Puckett, Jo Flynn, Della Rea Moreland, Susie Tuggle, and Ollie McIntosh; and two brothers, Fred Moreland and John Moreland.
    Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 14, 2023, 11 a.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Darrell Estes and Bro. Aaron Gabbard officiating. Burial will be at the Winkler Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 13th from 6-9 p.m.
    Pallbearers are Algin Moreland, Reed Moreland, Doug Arvin, Howard Arvin, Roy Arvin, Mike Barker, Mark Knopp, Roy G. Arvin, and Taylor Arvin.

Donna Hoskins Carpenter

    Donna Hoskins Carpenter, age 63, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at her home.
    She was born in Butler County, Ohio, on July 12, 1960, the daughter of the late Harlan and Anna Frances Long Hoskins. She was a professional housekeeper and was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. Donna attended Crystal Holiness church in Irvine.
    Survivors include her husband, Johney Carpenter; two sons, Daniel “DC” Gibson and Christopher “Chris” Gibson; two grandchildren who she raised as her own, Chase Gibson and Kelsie Gibson; as well as a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Gibson; one great grandchild; and her brothers, Gary Hoskins (Karla Ross), Harlan E. Hoskins (Patricia), David Hoskins and Roy Hoskins; as well as many extended family and friends.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Charlotte Camper and Laura Ann Biggs; and her brothers, Darrell Hoskins and James Hoskins.
    Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Thursday, December 14, 2023, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, 328 West Main Street, Richmond, with Bro. Jerry Rose and Bro. Ronnie Tipton officiating. Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 11 a.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.

Elbert John “Nubby” Jones

    Elbert John “Nubby” Jones, age 77, of Broadway in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, following a short illness.
    He was born February 7, 1946, in Letcher County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Elbert Jones and Evelyn Hillyer Richardson. He retired from Ajax Magnethermic where he worked as a production supervisor. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and served during the Vietnam Conflict. Elbert was a member of the First Baptist Church and he had lived in Estill County for most of his life.
    Mr. Jones is survived by one daughter, Melia Jones of Estill County; one son, Jeremiah Jones of California; one sister, Debbie Riddell of Estill County; and four grandchildren, Brianna Hall, Addison Jones, Tanner Jones, and Colton Jones.
    Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 13, 2023, 11 a.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill VanWinkle officiating. Burial will be at the Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 12th from 6-9 p.m.

Teresa Lynn Bowen

    Teresa Lynn Bowen, age 61, wife of Steve Faw, passed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at her home in Stanton, Kentucky.
    She was born April 13, 1962, in Winchester, Kentucky to the late Lawrence Edward Pelfrey and the late Beulah Lowe Pelfrey. Teresa attended Grace Fellowship Church and was a 1980 graduate of Powell County High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Powell County Board of Education and was a regular fixture at the high school athletic events, where she collected tickets at the front door.
    Teresa was also a former member of the Stanton Women’s Club, and her positive attitude made her loved by everyone who knew her. She loved her family and friends, playing bingo, and animals; especially her dogs. Teresa loved spending time with her granddaughter and watching her in the marching band events.
    In addition to her parents, Teresa is preceded in death by her sister, Wanda Carolyn Clark; and brother-in-law, Phillip Clark, Sr.
    In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Warren Meadows (Wendy) of Lexington, Travis Meadows (Jacqueline) and Nelson Craig Bowen, both of Stanton; two brothers, Howard Pelfrey (Betty) and Jerry Pelfrey, both of Stanton; one granddaughter, Cambria R. Bowen; and several nieces and nephews.
    Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services officiated by Brother Williard Estep and Sister Dana Estep, and eulogy given by her son, Warren Meadows, Jr., will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2023.
    Burial will be held at Stanton Cemetery with Warren Meadows, Travis Meadows, Craig Bowen, James Clark, Jerry Pelfrey, Josh Pelfrey and Steve Faw serving as active pallbearers.

James T. Brackett

    James T. Brackett, age 80, formerly of Irvine, Kentucky, departed this life on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at his home in Morrow, Ohio.
    James was born on January 23, 2023, in Irvine, Kentucky, to the late John William and Mildred Estes Brackett.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, John William "Bill" Brackett Jr.
    He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, a retired engineer for CSX Railroad, a member of the American Legion, and a veteran of the United States Army.
    Survivors include his two daughters, Selena Rae Bowling (Richard) and Earla Dawn Brackett Combs, both of Morrow, Ohio; two grandsons, James Richard and Justin Ray Bowling; along with a granddaughter, Marlee Combs; as well as numerous other relatives and friends to miss him and mourn his passing.
    A Celebration of Life for James T. Brackett will held Sunday, December 17, 2023, 2-4 p.m. at the Estill County Golf Club, 1602 Kirkland Avenue in Ravenna.

Gregory Lee Brewer

    Gregory Lee Brewer, age 60, of Stanton, Kentucky, husband of Charlene Hatton Brewer, passed into the arms of Jesus on Monday, December 4, 2023, at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mount Vernon, Kentucky.
    Greg was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, on March 3, 1963, to Pearl Brewer and Clare Ann Trent Brewer. He worked as a logistics management analyst with Lockheed Martin. He loved God, and that love flowed over to a great love for his family. He lived each day for his grandchildren, who held his heartstrings.
    Greg was a member of Clay City Church of Christ and served as a Deacon and Treasurer. He was a sports enthusiast and followed many different teams.
    In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by one son, Cory Lee Brewer (Haley) of Lexington; one daughter, Sabrina Campbell (John) of Taylorsville; two brothers, Jeffrey Wayne Brewer (Shannon) and Steve Edward Brewer, both of Clay City; two sisters, Carla Watson and Elizabeth Brewer, both of Clay City; and six grandchildren, Erin Campbell, Allie Campbell, Jacie Brewer, Kamryn Brewer, Wiley Brewer and Alvie Brewer.
    Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton. Funeral services officiated by Brother Daniel Newell will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023.

    She was born June 7, 1941 in Clay City, Kentucky, to the late Leonard McClure and the late Ruth Patton Faulkner.

    Verlon June Edwards Ousley, age 80, of Old Boonesboro Road in Winchester, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023, at her home following a long illness. She was born June 13, 1943, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Elbert and Hazel Riddell Dixon. She retired from J.C. Pennys where she worked as a clerk. She had lived in Estill County for most of her life.
    Mrs. Ousley is survived by her husband, Dennis L. Ousley; two sisters, Wilma Young of Estill County and Jerrie Center Ousley of Madison County; one brother, Arthur Dixon of Lancaster; and many special nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Arnold C. Edwards; one sister, Kathy Dixon Worley, and one brother, Darrell Dixon.
    Funeral services were conducted Thursday, December 7, 2023, 1 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tommy Edwards officiating. Burial was at the West Irvine Cemetery. Visitation was held on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

William Jessie Rogers

    William Jessie Rogers, age 91, a 54-year resident of Hazel Park, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.
    He was born on March 27, 1932 in Irvine, Kentucky to Charles and Bertha Rogers.
    Mr. Rogers was the beloved husband of Geneva Rogers for 58 years, and dear father of Tina Chaney (Jody), Jeff Rogers and Charlie Rogers. He was the cherished grandfather of Jason, Vanessa (Brannon), Brandon (Sara), Jessica (Justin), Josie, Emily and Raiden (Rosalee); and great grandfather of nine.
    He is predeceased by his son, William Daryl; five brothers and seven sisters.
    William worked and retired from General Motors. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and belonged to Scottish Rites.
    Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 9, 2023, 11 a.m.,, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rick Yokel officiating. Burial will be at the Oaks Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6 to 9 PM.

George Richard Williamson Jr.

    George Richard Williamson Jr., age 77, husband of Laura Elizabeth Baker Williamson, passed away at his home in Waco, Kentucky, on Friday, December 1, 2023, after a long illness
    He was born on January 21, 1946, in DeWitt, Knox County, Kentucky to the late George Richard Williamson Sr. and the late Ruby Carnes Williamson.
    George grew up in Booneville, Kentucky, graduating from Owsley County High School in 1964. He later attended Eastern Kentucky University, graduating with both a Bachelor's and Master of Arts degrees in Education. He and his wife, Elizabeth, were members of the Booneville Baptist Church.
    He served the community for 25 years as a public school teacher. He was a dedicated instructor, coach, mentor, friend, and role model to many children growing up in Estill County. Years after his retirement, many still refer to him today as their all-time favorite teacher.
    George was also well-known for his other varied interests and lifelong learning. He had an extensive knowledge of ancient Native American artifacts. He was often noted for his expertise in the minerology of Kentucky, focusing on Agates. George also enjoyed fishing, basketball, and discussing history; especially that of the American Civil War.
    Most of all, he will be remembered as a kind and gentle man. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
    Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth; one son, George Richard Williamson III (Stacie); one brother, William Robert Williamson (Shirley); two sisters, Ann Williamson Teague (Paul) and Patricia Williamson Thomas (Bill); two step-grandchildren, Brianna S. Claypoole and Shawn K. Claypool; along with five great grandchildren. Many other nieces and nephews who fondly called him "Uncle Jar-Jar" also survive.
    Visitation will be held 6-9 p.m., Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Searcy and Strong Funeral Home, 1694 Old Kentucky 11, Booneville. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 6th at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in downtown Booneville.
    Pallbearers include Shawn Claypool, Brandon Lawrence, Jason Tirey, Emmett Mastin, Bill Gabbard and Bobby Bell.

    James Franklin Campbell, age 87, husband of Wanda Howell Campbell, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023 at his home surrounded by family.
    He was born December 4, 1935 in Menifee County, Kentucky to the late Alex and Gladys Esther Trimble Campbell. He was a member of the Stanton Church of God.
    Survivors include his wife, Wanda Campbell; five sons, James Campbell, David Campbell, Hursel Campbell, Ray Shearer, and David Shearer; six daughters, Barbara Flannery, Neva Kovach, Betty Hurt, Sherry Brady, Pam Johnson, and Shannon Moore; three brothers, Keith Campbell, Tom Campbell, and Lee Campbell; two sisters, Connie Sue Grissinger and Jeanette Francis Egelston; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great, great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Gladys Campbell; one son, Jimmy Shearer; a brother, David Letcher Campbell; and sisters, Agnes Cooper and Nancy Egelston.

    Anna Margaret “Marge” Davis, age 99, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023, at the Irvine Nursing and Rehab Center following a short illness.
    She was born April 26, 1924, in Estill County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Enoch and Ida Mae Crowe Stamper. She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Time Baptist Church. She was also a charter member of the Easter Valley Baptist Church in 1953. She had lived in Estill County all her life.
    Mrs. Davis is survived by two daughters, Treva Wilson of Estill County; and Delana Stelly of Fayette County; two sons, Joseph Mike Davis (Deborah) and Edward L. Davis, both of Estill County; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Prentice Roberts and Woodrow W. Davis; one daughter, Leila G. Brinegar; three sisters, Delberta Ingram, Velma Allen, and Sara Neal; three brothers, Junior, Jess, and Virgil Stamper; two grandchildren, Tracy Michelle Messer and Mark Thomas Thornbury; one daughter-in-law, Vickie Davis; and two sons-in-law, Forester Brinegar and Robert Stelly.

    She was born July 28, 1956 in Jackson, Kentucky to the late Shelby Vernon and Ruth Lockard Coomer.
    Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Kim Rose; her children, Benjamin Rose (Veronica), Christen Spencer, Afton Jett (Lee), and Clint Rose (Makena); her grandchildren, Morgan Rose, Chloe Rose, Allyson Spencer, Brette Spencer, Lillee Jett, Brayden Jett, Caroline Jett, and Carlee Jett; two brothers, Dennis Coomer and Paul Brewer; and five sisters, Sharon Brewer, Lenora Spray, Elaine Cole, Kathy Smith, and Anita Sharma.
    She was preceded in death by her father, Shelby Vernon Coomer her mother, Ruth Lockard Coomer; and her step-mother, Dorothy Roberts Coomer.

    Fairley Holden Neal Jr., age 58, of Irvine, Kentucky, known by his friends as "Charlie Brown," passed away Monday, November 27, 2023.
    He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, October 7, 1965 to the late Fairley Holden Neal Sr. and Rachelle Irene Wilson Neal.
    He is survived by a son, Fairley Neal III; three daughters, Katyleen Sparks, Alexis Neal and Brittany Stegall; and a brother, Wayne Neal.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sonja Jackson.
    A memorial service were held at 12 Noon, Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Irvine. Friends visited Saturday from 11 a.m. till time of the service.

Betty Jean Nobles

    Betty Jean Nobles, age 70, of Ravenna, Kentucky, passed away at her residence Sunday, November 26, 2023.
    She was born October 9, 1953 in Prattville, Alabama to Phillip and Minnie Knight. She was a Homemaker.
    Mrs. Nobles is survived by a son, Rickey Lane Nobles Jr.; two daughters, Jeannie Gailes and Jessica Barber; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruby Kinchen and Diane Glisson.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Minnie Knight; and her husband, Rickey Lane Nobles Sr.
    No services are planned at this time.
    Grayson Funeral Home of Irvine is in charge of services.

Remington Hall

    Remington Hall, newborn infant son of William and Hope Hall, of Clay City, Kentucky, passed into the arms of Jesus the day he was born, Thursday, November 23, 2023.
    He was loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
    Remington was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Henry Hall.
    In addition to his parents, he is survived by three brothers, Jeremiah Hall, Micah Hall, and Canaan Hall; two sisters, Hannah Hall and Madilyn Hall; a paternal grandmother, Lisa Hall of Winchester; a maternal grandfather, Gary Meadows of Russell Springs; and a maternal grandmother, Donna Miller of Clay City.
    There will be no services held.
    Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
