Sharlene Isaacs Napier, 77
|
Sharlene Isaacs Napier, age 77, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at her residence. She was born in Irvine on November 3, 1947 to the late Raymond and Mayfra Callahan Isaacs.
She loved her family more than anything and was proud of her display of family photos that filled her home for all to see. She enjoyed porch sitting and drinking ice cold Ale 8, while watching traffic go by. Sharlene was a friend to all and enjoyed company that came to visit. Sharlene was a member of Wagersville Pentecostal church and a dedicated follower of WLJC Hour of Harvest.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Alleen Johnson Callahan, parental grandparents, Lewis and Nancy Sparks Isaacs, her companion, Berley Nolan, one brother, Donnie Leon “Lad” Isaacs, and one sister, Janice Chasten Isaacs.
Sharlene is survived by one daughter: Tammy Pasley (Tracy) of Irvine; two sons: Anthony Napier (Kim) of Anderson, Indiana, and Tommy Napier (Kim) of Clay City; nine grandchildren: Tommy Kennon, Justin Pasley (Sarah), Brandon Kennon (Tiffany), Tommy Napier (Kim), Oshea Howell (Toby), Kimberly Reed (Mark), Anthony Larrison (Breanna), Melanie Graham (Steven), and Brandon Shipley; one sister, Gwen Hager (David); one brother: Bobby (Chugger) Isaacs; former sisters-in-law: Pam Isaacs Noe and Debbie Isaacs; a niece: Magen King (David); and a nephew: Matthew Hager (Kindra); and a great nephew, Conner King, whom she thought of as one of her grandchildren.
Sharlene is also survived by several nieces and nephews, along with many great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren. Sharlene had many great friends who looked out for her, including her best friend, Dreama Workman.
Funeral service was held Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Wagersville community Pentecostal Church. Visitation was held from 12 noon till time of service. Burial followed in the Callahan Cemetery Wagersville, Kentucky.

Charles Ray Hamilton, 81

Charles Ray Hamilton, age 81, of Irvine, Kentucky, departed this life on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at the Irvine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on August 11, 1942, in the Olive Hill community of Carter County, Kentucky, Charles was the son of the late Lonnie Ray and Sarah Caroll Hamilton.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Sue Hamilton; two sisters, Hazel Hamilton Kelly and Rosemary Estes; and three brothers, Davis Hamilton, Samuel Hamilton, and Orville Hamilton.
Survivors include two brothers, Gene Hamilton and James Hamilton; two sisters, Betty Epperhart and Eliza Jane Richardson; a special niece, Cathy Lynn Hamilton; and several other nieces and nephews and relatives and friends to miss him and mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Charles Ray Hamilton were conducted on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lewis Home for Funerals. Brother Mark Adams will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the services from 12 Noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Dustin Issacs, Casey Brooks, Cody Jones, Chase Disel, Gary Lane, Jeffrey Adams, and Bobby Greene.
Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Gadd and Alajandro Hernandez.
Tonja Louise Hicks, 49

Tonja Louise Hicks, age 49, of Winchester, Kentucky, departed this life on Monday, June 24, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
Tonja was born on January 28, 1975, in Peru, Indiana to the late Jerry Ray and Artie Jane Patrick Hicks.
Survivors include her daughter, Starla Sue Jane Hicks; and two sisters, Patty See and Melissa Sue Townsend; along with numerous nieces and nephews to miss her and mourn her passing.
A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date by the family.

Delbert Estes, age 68, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024.
He was born on November 25, 1955 to Masco Estes and Addie Bee Kirby Estes. He was a long-time employee of Wiggs Chevron and Bunt Gross Chevrolet. He was of the Christian faith.
Delbert is survived by his daughter, Misty Deal of Bassett, Virginia; two granddaughters, Katherine Deal and Jamye Deal; one brother, Kenneth Estes of Irvine; one sister, Geneva Philbeck of Hamilton, Ohio; and a special cousin, Darrell Smokey Woods (Priscilla) as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Eva Mae Miller, Roscoe Estes, Samuel Estes, Obed Estes, Eunice Robertson, Elsie Kirby, Beverly Estes, Reva Hardy, and Michael Estes.
No services at this time. He requested to be cremated.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.

Emma Lee Elizabeth Hutchison Hood, age 96, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024 at the Hospice Care Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
Emma Lee was born in Irvine, Kentucky, July 24, 1927, to the late Clarence and Jennie Hutchison. She was a graduate of Irvine High School and member of the First Baptist Church in Irvine. She was a homemaker most of her life, raising her two children and caring for her grandchildren. She loved sitting outside on her patio with family and friends, cleaning and maintaining a meticulous household, and cheering for the University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball and football teams.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Bert Powell Hood Jr.; a son, Bert Douglas Hood; her parents, Clarence and Jennie Hutchison; two brothers, Clarence Hutchison Jr. and William Elmore; two sisters, Eunice Hutchison Witt and Wanda Thomas; and her favorite dog, Teddy.
Mrs. Hood is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Hood Simpson (Emmett); a daughter-in-law, Patty Hood; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Ashley Hood-Morley (Robert) and Chelsea Hood Reece (Clay); and a special niece, Janie Stone (Ryan).
Funeral services for Mrs. Hood were conducted on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Warren F. Toler Funeral Home with burial following at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Robert Morley, Clay Reece, Ryan J. Stone, Matt Hutchison, John Hutchison, Richard Snowden, and Ashley Witt.
Honorary pallbearer was Charles B. Muncy.
Family received friends from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Elizabeth Ann Stidham, 77

Elizabeth Ann Stidham, age 77, of Sprucewood Drive in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati.
She was born July 23, 1946, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Roy and Lula Warner Stidham. She was a Nurse for the Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, and she was an avid Golfer and Antiquer. She had lived in Northern Kentucky for most of her life.
Elizabeth is survived by one niece, Lisa Perkins; and four nephews, Gerald Johnson, Ron Stidham, David Stidham and Terry Stidham.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Johnson; and two brothers, Kenneth Stidham and Ronald Stidham.
A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, July 11, 2024, 2 p.m., at the Stidham Warner Cemetery, 1102 Dry Ridge Road, Irvine, with Bro. Donnie Watson officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the cemetery.

Brenda Arledge, age 82, of Hillsboro, Ohio, passed away early Thursday morning, June 20, 2024 at Legacy of Hillsboro.
She was born September 21, 1941 in Hamilton, Ohio, daughter of the late Kenneth Bell Sr. and Nanny Barker Bell.
Brenda was a former member of the Hillsboro Eagles #1161.
Surviving are her husband of 35 years, Clay Arledge; one daughter, Rhonda Hollon (Gary) of Hillsboro, Ohio; one son, Timmy Lutes of Irvine, Kentucky, four grandchildren, Michael Hollon, Daniel Hollon, Kyle Hollon, all of Ohio; and Belinda Davidson of Irvine, Kentucky; five great grandchildren, Preston Hollon, Brody Hollon, Jaydan Hollon, Rylee Hollon, and Zane Hollon; four brothers, Henry Bell, Benny Mequire, Owen Bell, and Desi Bell; three sisters; Mary Juanita Grafman, Rosalie Turner, and Denise Dunnivant; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her three sisters, Avia Vierling, Shirley Thomas, and Mildred; and a brother, Kenneth Bell Jr.
Services are pending at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, Hillsboro, Ohio.

Charles Edward Rawlins, age 53, of New Fox Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024, at his home following a short illness.
He was born January 17, 1971, in Estill County and was the son of the late J.D. Rawlins and Sara Tipton Rawlins. He was an Auto Mechanic and he had lived in Estill County all his life.
Mr. Rawlins is survived by two sons, Dakota Earl Hatton-Rawlins of Estill County; and Nicholas Rawlins of Madison County; three sisters, Maggie Jane Puckett, Joyce Ann Rawlins, and Beulah Marie Adams, all of Estill County; and three grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Junior Rawlins.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

Ronald Jackson, 79

Ronald Jackson age 79, husband of Shirley Jackson, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 19, 2024 at St Joseph Berea Hospital.
Ronald had been a Supervisor/Foreman for CSX Railroad; he was a member and deacon at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Berea and had been a member of the Irvine Masonic Lodge #137, and Ronald proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Allie Craft Jackson; and his brothers, Richard Jackson and Michael Jackson.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Shirley Corbett Jackson; his son, Ron Jackson (Candy); his daughter, Yvette Rogers (Scott), his sister, Teresa Jackson; a brother, Danny Jackson; and his grandchildren: David Young (Whitney), Brooke Jackson, and Hunter Jackson.
Visitation was held Saturday from 10 a.m. – 12 Noon at Lakes Funeral Home in Berea. Funeral services followed at 12 Noon with Rev. Ed Cortez and Rev. Scott Rogers officiating. Entombment took place at Madison County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Ron Jackson, David Young, Hunter Jackson, Scott Rogers, Monty Jay Corbett, and Tim Jordan.
Henrietta Smith Long, 88

Henrietta Smith Long, age 88, widow of Raymond Long, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the University of Kentucky Hospice Care Center in Lexington.
Henrietta was born November 23, 1935 in Booneville, Kentucky, a daughter to the late Henry Clay and Tina McIntosh Smith. Along with her husband, they owned and operated Longs' Upholstery for over 50 years in Owsley County. Her greatest love was for her family and was a member of the Warren's Chapel Church.
She is survived by three sons, James Long (Hazel) of Irvine, Johnny Long of Hindman, and Billy Long (Amber) of Booneville; one daughter, Cristy Long of Booneville; one brother, Ronald Lee Smith of Lexington; two sisters, Frances Kincaid of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Mary Lou Angel of Beattyville; six grandchildren, Cassie Long, Stephanie Settles, Joshua Long, James Earl Long, Aubrielle Long, and Samantha Perciful; and four step-grandchildren, Dean, Robert, Steven, and Stephanie; along with many other loving family members and friends.
Henrietta was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, her parents; two sons, David Wayne Long and Billy Paul Long; two brothers, Arvel Smith and Everett Smith; one sister, Donna Smith Brandenburg; and two grandsons, David Wayne Long Jr. and Jamie Shawn Long.
Visitation was held Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Booneville Funeral Home. Funeral services were held following with Reverend J. Jamison Brunk officiating. Henrietta was laid to rest next to her husband in the Warrens Chapel Cemetery, located in Vincent Community of Owsley County.

Tracy Wallace McQueen Jr., age 65, departed this life on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 in Stokes County, North Carolina.
He was born September 7, 1958 in Richmond, Kentucky, to the late Tracy Wallace McQueen Sr. and the late Betty Lou Gould Lane.
Mr. McQueen was the co-owner and operator of several small business operations in Estill County. He had been a professional musician, cattle farmer, member of Kiwanis Club, a Mason, a Lions Club member and a Boy Scouts leader for many years. He was a member of Williams Memorial Baptist Church in Ravenna. He loved to read, ride his motorcycles, and spend time in the great outdoors.
He is survived by three children, Benjamin Jackson McQueen, Jordan McQueen, and Stephen Dalton McQueen; four sisters, Dawn Elizabeth McQueen Mortimer (Simon), Kelley Ambre McQueen Harlow, Tonya Richardson Floyd (Gayle), and Susan Adrienne McQueen; two brothers, Jeffery Gould (Robin) and Patrick Edward McQueen; eleven nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, and many cousins and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Richardson Taylor.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Sunday, June 30th, 2024 at the Irvine Masonic Lodge Hall on Broadway in Irvine at 3 p.m.

Howard Lane Patton, age 66, was born on April 4, 1958 to Willie Herbert and Cecile Patrick Patton at the Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville, Tennessee, and passed away there at the same facility on Thursday, May 30, 2024.
He is survived by his siblings, Linda Futrell, Alan Patton, Ava Patton, Rita Walker and Harvey Patton, all of Crossville.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Cecile and Herb Patton, a brother, Dale Patton; his grandparents, Homer and Lillian Patton of Tennessee and Sanford and Dora Ann Dickerson Patrick of Cob Hill, Kentucky; and two sisters-in-law, Kathy Patton and Debbie Patton.
He had six nephews, Danny G. Futrell, Jason Futrell, Toby Patton, Willie Patton, Tom Pritchard, and Timmy Anderson; and three nieces, Tina Brown, Dusty Hubbard and Brandi Kirk.
The family received friends on Monday, June 3, 2024 from 4 to 6 p.m. with a service to follow at 6 p.m. with Mitchel Covington officiating.
Howard was not a "people person," but the family was used to him and his ways. He was the baby of seven children, and all of his siblings loved him. The only person he would go and eat with was Milton Walker.
He was a blunt person; if he had something to say, he would let you know. The only time he every got mad at Mom was when she was keeping Brandi and she wanted to watch cartoons and Mom wouldn't let him change the channels. He did not like that.
Howard at one time walked to a nearby creek every day; you could hear of different ones seeing him walk. He will be missed by all his family. His sister Linda says, "Oh, yes, he was Mom's favorite!"

Wilma Lois Smith, 88

Wilma Lois Smith, age 88, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at her home in Clay City, Kentucky.
She was born in Clay City, on November 2, 1935, to the late Cecil Elwood Gravett and the late Alma Elinor “John” Davis Gravett. Wilma was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her home, being outside mowing her yard, and tending to her flowers. In her younger years, she loved square dancing and clogging with her husband. Wilma cherished spending time with her grandchild and creating special memories. She was strong-willed and very disciplined. Wilma was a great caregiver and was very hardworking. She served as the caretaker and Sexton of the Vaughns Mill Cemetery.
In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Thomas “J.T.” Smith; and her sister, Gail Ann Gravett. She is survived by two daughters, Gail Ann Smith (Chuck Donaldson) and Susan Mariah Smith, both of Clay City; and one granddaughter, Rachel Mariah Lynch.
Visitation will be held from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Felsha Foster and Pastor Jessica Wheeler, will be held at the funeral home immediately following visitation, at 2 p.m.
Burial will be held at Vaughns Mill Cemetery in Clay City with David O’Hair, Anthony Clark, Steve Collins, Phillip Stone, Steve Hale, Junior Burkhart, and Dwight Rupard serving as active pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers are Gail and James Cope, Lisa Turner, Phyllis Jo Anderson, Melissa Collins, Donna Jo Wafford, Daryl Anderson, Ronna Davis-Donithan, Jerry Strange, Gathal Conner; and the congregation of the Hardwicks Creek United Methodist Church.

Mark Anthony Brewer, age 54, of Grayson, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024 at his home.
A native of Powell County, he was born March 14, 1970 in Irvine, Kentucky, to the late Austin Darrell and Carol Sue Horn Brewer. He was passionate about his work as a Detox Associate with Pathways, Inc. and helped many people.
Mark is survived by his sister, Shelly Marie Jones of Frenchburg; and a host of other friends and family not related by blood, but family nonetheless.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers Darrell Wayne Brewer and Brian Keith Brewer; and a sister, Amy Lorene Townsend.
No official service is planned, but there will be visitation for family and friends at Wells Funeral Home in Stanton on Sunday, June 30, 2024, from 2-5 p.m. with time for public remarks at 4 p.m.

Brenda Sue Campbell, age 67, wife of William Herald Campbell, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 6, 1957 in Michigan to the late Robert and Anna Lou McKinney Compton.
Survivors include her husband, William Harold Campbell; six sons, Otis Wayne Campbell (Brandi), Robert Harold Campbell (Jessica), Victor Scott Campbell, Quinton Dale Campbell (Heather) , Jeff Hall, and Roger Spicer; daughters, three Cathy Lynn Wireman, Angie Hamilton, and Shellie Roberts; two brothers, Robert Michael Compton and Phillip Wayne Compton; 18 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Ethan Wireman.
Services were held Friday, June 28, 2024, 12 Noon at Wells Funeral Home by Bro. Terry Frerichs. Visitation was Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Courtney Rae Martin, age 24, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, in Lexington, Kentucky.
She was born in Winchester, Kentucky, on October 12, 1999, to Donnie Sons, Jr. and Angela Martin. Courtney was extremely outgoing and had the ability to easily make friends with anyone. She was goofy and fun, always eager to try new things. Courtney loved to sing and was very headstrong, never backing down from anyone.
Courtney is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Sharon Hatton Sons; her maternal grandfather, David Martin; and her great grandmother, Correne Hatton.
In addition to her parents, Courtney is survived by her son, Carson Whitt of Clay City; one brother, Dallas Martin of Mt. Sterling; one sister, Whitney Martin of Lexington; her paternal grandfather, Donnie Sons, Sr. of Mt. Sterling; her maternal grandmother, Judy Martin (James Isaacs) of Richmond; four aunts, Marcella McCarty, Michelle Hatton, Charlene Hatton Brewer, and Valerie Burton; two nieces, Kenleigh Brewer and Karleigh Brewer; one nephew, Kendall Brewer; and cousins, Julie Defrates and Jayla Defrates.
Visitation was held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Anthony Molihan were held at the funeral home immediately following visitation, at 3 p.m.

Sharon Kaye Coomer Brewer, age 70, of Clay City, Kentucky, born in Breathitt County, Kentucky, wife of Harvey Kenneth Brewer of Clay City, was the daughter of Shelby Vernon and Ruth Lockard Coomer and a step-daughter of Dorothy Roberts Coomer.
Sharon passed away at Fountain Circle in Winchester, Kentucky, on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 10:25 with her sister Lenora Spray and Jim Graham by her side. Sharon was born February 20 1954. She was a member of Clay City United Methodist Church.
She is survived by husband, Harvey Kenneth Brewer; two sons, Billy Jason Estes of Morehead and Michael Vernon Estes (Alisa) of Clay City; two brothers, Dennis Coomer of Clay City and Paul Brewer of Battle Creek, Michigan; and four sisters, Lenora Spray (Jim Graham) of Mt Sterling, Kathy Smith of Stanton, Elaine Cole (Garry) of Clay City, and Anita Sharma (Biakuntha) of Lexington. She had several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father, mother, and stepmother; and a sister, Vondra Carol Coomer Rose.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, June 24, 2024 at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel in Clay City with Rev. Kim Rose officiating. Friends may visit Monday from 11 a.m. till time of the service. Burial will be in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Stanton.

Mary "Tiny" Jones, age 88, widow of Everett Jones, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester, Kentucky.
She was born March 23, 1936 in Estill County, Kentucky, to the late Isaac & Nora May Tipton McIntosh. A homemaker and lover of the outdoors, she is survived by three sons, Jimmy McIntosh (Bonnie), Jerald Blythe (Wanda Johnson), and Gary Thomas Jones; three daughters, Judy Martin (James Isaacs), Janice Bates, and Jennifer Bolin (Sammy); a daughter-in-law, Wanda Blythe; 18 grandchildren and many great and great, great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Tiny was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Blythe; a daughter, Patricia Mays; two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Wells Funeral Home in Stanton by Bro. Kenny Wasson. Visitation will also be held Sunday, beginning at 11 a.m. for family and 12 Noon for friends.
Burial will follow the funeral at the Jones-Frazier Cemetery in Stanton with Jamie Martin, Jaylan Martin, Brandon Blythe, Tooty Jones, Ricky Barnett, and Steven Gabbard serving as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers serving are Danny Rogers, Eddie Barnes, and the staff at Stanton Nursing Center.

Carol Marie Foster, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at her home in Stanton, Kentucky.
She was born in Cobb Hill, Kentucky on May 15, 1940, to the late Sidney Clark Hall and the late Juanita Marie Bryant Hall. Carol was a homemaker who loved caring for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed working in her yard, making it beautiful with all kinds of flowers. Carol was a member of Cat Creek Church of Christ and the Ladies Auxiliary of AmVets Post 67 and loved to play bingo.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Eldon Foster; one son, Jeffrey Wayne Foster; her brother, William “Billy” Clark Hall; and two grandchildren, Jerrica Miller and Cameron Martin.
Carol is survived by one son, Tim Foster (Brenda) of Stanton; one daughter, Lisa Martin-Johnson (Barren) of Russell Springs; three grandchildren, Ashley Penrod (Wayson), Jimmy Foster, and Chelsie Martin Williams (Lucas); and three great grandchildren, Oaklee Penrod, Paislee Penrod, and Sawyer Jane Williams.
Visitation was held from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Dwaine Meadows, were held at the funeral home immediately following visitation at 2 p.m. Burial was at the McCoy Cemetery in Stanton with Tim Foster, Jimmy Foster, Reece Foster, Barren Johnson, Lucas Williams, and Wayson Penrod serving as active pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers were Sandra McCoy, Sandy Flinchum, Steve and Patty Gordon, Diane Chenault, and the members of AMVETS Post 67.

Wavelene Jane Cardona, age 69, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024, at her home in Stanton, Kentucky. She was born in Bowen, Kentucky on August 1, 1954, to the late Russell Patrick and the late Alwena Spangler Hudson.
She was a member of Nada Baptist Church and worked as a factory worker at Texas Instruments. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren and loved her dogs, Spanky and Skittles.
Wavelene had a sincere concern for others and was always willing to help anyone. She also enjoyed going out to eat, especially at her favorite restaurant, Red Lobster.
In addition to her parents, Wavelene was preceded in death by her sister, Starlena Patrick; and one grandchild, Haley Marcum.
She is survived by her husband, Hector Cardona of Stanton; her stepfather, Grant George Hudson of Stanton; two daughters, Tammy Marcum (Johnny) of Versailles and Kristie Fields (Jack) of Clarksville, Tennessee; one brother, George Patrick of Winchester; one special friend who was just like a sister to her, Ruby Richardson; eight grandchildren, Dustin Marcum, Jonathan Marcum, Nicholas Marcum, Noah Marcum, Caitlin Yewell (A.J.), Kyle Tankersley, Shawn Tankersley, and Jack Fields, Jr.; and four great grandchildren, Harper Roth, Roen Carlson, Delene Wilson, and Lucas Tankersley.
Visitation was held from 5-9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Willie Means were held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 12 Noon.
Burial was held at Rose Crest Cemetery in Versailles with Robert Bailey, Tommy Richardson, Brandon Crabtree, David Watkins, and Jonathan Haddix serving as active pallbearers.

Howard Wayne Pelfrey, age 76, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024, at his home in Stanton, Kentucky.
He was born in Stanton, Kentucky on February 11, 1948, to the late Lawrence Edward Pelfrey and the late Beulah Lowe Pelfrey. Howard was a member of Grace Fellowship Church of God of Prophecy and worked as a machinist for Allied Signal. He was a graduate of Powell County High School, class of 1967, and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
Howard loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchild. He also enjoyed working and spending time with his father. Howard enjoyed helping others and being a benefit to his church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Wanda Carolyn Clark and Teresa Bowen.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Pelfrey; three sons, Stephen Pelfrey of Stanton, Douglas Pelfrey (Melissa) of Georgetown, and Kevin Pelfrey (Amanda) of Stanton; one brother, Jerry Pelfrey of Stanton; one special aunt, Jane Rogers of Stanton; and one grandchild, Gracie Pelfrey.
Visitation was held from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services officiated by Bro. Ralph Shipley and Bro. Willard Estep were held at the funeral home on Friday, June 21, 2024, at 11 a.m.
Burial was at Resthaven Cemetery in Stanton with Stephen Pelfrey, Douglas Pelfrey, Kevin Pelfrey, Jerry Pelfrey, Jeff Neal, Chris Neal, Kelly Neal and Mike Estep serving as active pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers were the Grace Fellowship Congregation, the Morris Creek First Church of God Congregation, and special friends, John and Gail Brewer.
