Beverly Santamarino, age 79, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at her home surrounded by friends.
She was born on April 5, 1945 to the late Albert Santamarino and Inez Santamarino, whom she loved dearly. Beverly was a Godly woman and she was retired from Carhartt where she worked as a seamstress.
She is survived by her brother, Charles Santamarino; and a sister, Jean Marquis; as well as many friends.
In addition to both of her parents, she is preceded in passing by her two sons, John Maher and John Earl Fowler; and her daughter, Wendy Santamarino Harrison.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home of Richmond.

Charles Wayne Donahue, age 62, of Rockaway Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.
He was born November 23, 1961, in Estill County and was the son of the late James Harvey Donahue Jr. and Clara Neal Donahue. He retired from Infiltrator Inc. and lived in Estill County for most of his life.
Mr. Donahue is survived by his wife, Rebecca Bartlett Donahue; two daughters, Kimberly Alcorn (Rodney) of Madison County and Brooke-Lynn Donahue of Estill County; two sisters, Debbie Donahue of Estill County and Marilyn Donahue of Clark County and Donny Donahue of Estill County; two grandchildren, Alexis Stamper and Kennedy Alcorn; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, August 11, 2024, 1 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Vickie Young officiating. Burial was at the Johnson Cemetery. Visitation was held on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m.
Pallbearers were Rodney Alcorn, Eddie Donahue, Michael Donahue, Ethan Donahue, Christopher Edgington, and Cody Edgington.
Honorary pallbearers were Herbert Long and Adam Blanton.

Bonnie Joyce Hall, age 77, of Blue Run Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024, at her home.
She was born January 31, 1947, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Lloyd Barnett and Lula Bailey Barnett Webb. She was a homemaker and had lived in Estill County all her life.
Mrs. Hall is survived by three sons, Jeff Hall (Suzi), Darren Hall, both of Estill County; and Bryan Hall (Stacy) of Florida; three sisters, Judy Dunaway of Madison County; Gayla Barnett and Pricella Woods, both of Estill County; two brothers, Mike Barnett of Madison County and Bud Barnett of Estill County; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Hall; a sister, Shirleen Chaney; and two brothers, Kenny Barnett, and Phillip Barnett.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 9, 2024, 1 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Joe Hall officiating. Burial will be at the Cobb Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.
Pallbearers were Justin Watson, Kevin Tegtmeier, Trenton Hall, Andrew Chaney, Jon Barnett, and Adam Robinson.
Honorary pallbearers were Logan Hall, Steve Barnett, Jamie Barnett, and James Barnett.

Brack David Seale, son of the late Brack Seale Jr. and Iva Lee Warner Seale was born in Campton, Kentucky on December 27, 1959 and departed this life in Lexington, Kentucky on August 4, 2024 at the age of 64 years, 7 months, and 8 days. He worked for Harry Gordon Steel for 46 years as a Foreman.
He is survived by one daughter, Lorie Beth Seale Post and husband Andrew; one son, Brack David Seale II all of Lexington, Kentucky; his life partner, Geraldine Seale of Beattyville, Kentucky; a brother, Gene Arthur Seale and wife Dana of Richmond, Kentucky; two sisters, Deborah Ann Samples of Ravenna, Kentucky, and Jenny Lee Napier of Irvine, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Visitation was from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, August 8 at Newnam Funeral Home in Beattyville. Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 9 at the funeral home Burial followed in the Seale Cemetery on Bell Point Road in Beattyville.

Donna Gay Young, age 63, of Racetrack Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024, at her home following a sudden illness.
She was born August 3, 1961, in Montgomery County and was the daughter of the late Jesse and Alma Frances Johnson Humphrey. She was a homemaker and had lived in Estill County most of her life.
Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her husband, Ricky Joe Young, and is survived by two daughters, Heather Jo Young and Nikki Young, both of Estill County; one sister, Carleen Shields of Bath County; one brother, August Humphrey of Montgomery County; and three grandchildren, Sophie Green, Zaydi Jones, and Jerrick Jones.
There are no services scheduled at this time.

Brandie Fielding, age 43, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024 in Irvine.
She was born in Winchester, Kentucky, on September 28, 1980 to Mack Hall Jr. and Treva Burton Hall.
Brandie is survived by her husband, Arnold Dale Litteral; one son, Nicholas James Wright; one daughter, Haler Nichole Fielding; one brother, Nathan Hall; and one sister, Shannon Abner.

Kay Williams Lay, 85

Kay Williams Lay, age 85, Lexington, Kentucky, devoted wife of 54 years to William Boian Lay (May 23, 2011), passed into her heavenly home on Thursday, July 11, 2024.
Born in Ravenna, Kentucky, daughter to the late Isaac and Nannie Belle Trent Williams, Kay was a devout Christian and most recently attended Sunday services at Richmond Place Senior Living in Lexington. Kay graduated from Estill County High School in Irvine, in 1956 where she met and later married her high school sweetheart in December of that same year.
As a dedicated and loving mother of two children, Kay is survived by Jennifer Lay Harris (David) of Versailles and William Patrick Lay (Missy) of Apex, North Carolina. Additionally, she is survived by one sister, Barbara Rison (John) of Irvine; and one brother, Donald Williams (Pat) of Ravenna. Kay was also a proud and loving grandmother to Ashley Harris Gish (Brandon), Justin Harris (Kaitlyn), and Kristin Lay; and great grandchildren of Elle, Ford, and Harris Gish, and Kyleigh, Amelia, and Laikyn Harris.
Loved by many family and friends, Kay’s hobbies included loving her three grandchildren and six great grandchildren, cheering on Kentucky basketball and football, watching PGA golf on the weekends, playing cards of all varieties, winters in Florida, cooking, reading, working puzzles, and knitting.
Relatives and friends were invited to Kay's visitation on Saturday, July 27, 2024, 10 a.m. – 12 Noon at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Harrodsburg Road, Lexington. Funeral services with Rev. Samuel Peoples officiating, immediately followed visitation at 12 Noon at the funeral home. Kay was laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Boian, in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens (Nicholasville).

Paul Edward Tipton, age 73, of Berea, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Dominion Senior Living following a long illness.
He was born October 15, 1950, in Estill County, and was the son of the late Pearl and Biddie Barnes Tipton. He was a Retired Inspector for Hyster and a member of the Masonic Lodge Stafford #562. He served in the National Guard, and he lived in Madison County for most of his life.
Mr. Tipton was preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Tipton; and he is survived by two Honorary Grandchildren, Taylor and Anna Seals; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by seven sisters, Golden Johnson, Armilda McKie, Emma Watson, Louise McIntosh, Donna Pack, Dorothy Ballard, and Virginia Tipton; and four bothers, Neal, Melvin, Manuel, and Bradley Tipton.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 8, 2024, 11 a.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Gray Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 7th from 6 to 9 p.m.

Edna Babb, age 76, of Dark Hollow Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, following a long illness.
She was born December 25, 1947, in Madison County, and was the daughter of the late James and Mattie Kirby Walters. She retired from Carhartt where she worked as a Seamstress, and she attended the Crystal Holiness Church. She had lived in Estill County for most of her life.
Edna will be fondly remembered for her unwavering love and devotion to her family and friends, and for her continuous prayers for those who needed them.
Mrs. Babb is survived by her husband, Ivan Glendon Babb; two daughters, Tammy M. Tipton (Paul) and Rhonda Benton (Scott), both of Estill County; three beloved grandchildren: Justin Babb, Logan Benton (Zack Morris), and Laura Shyann Snowden (Matthew); one great grandchild on the way, Raegan Scott Snowden; many nieces and nephews; and her lovable pet, Luna.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Bertha Hardy, Hallie Banks, and Daisy Barryman.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Ida Ballard Smith, 85

Ida Ballard Smith, age 85, of Kingston, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 29, 2024, at St. Joseph Hospital in Berea.
She was born on November 30, 1938, in Estill County, the daughter of the late Henry and Ella Sparks Ballard - she was the 10th child of 13 children.
Ida was a retired employee of Westinghouse / North American Phillips Lighting Corp. where she worked in production up to when the plant closed in the mid 1990’s. After her retirement, Ida went back to school and completed her GED which was a longtime desire of hers. She also attended the Kentucky Business College and earned her degree which she was very proud of. Ida was very involved with local elections and was a faithful poll worker for over 20 years, working mainly at the Kingston precinct.
She was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed Bible study and listening to gospel music.
On October 2, 1965, Ida married the love of her life, Herbert Smith, and together they have enjoyed life and shared memories for 58 years.
In addition to her husband, Ida is survived by two children, daughter, Cynthia Ross (Greg) and son, Mitchell Smith; one grandson, Tyler Ross (Heather); three great grandchildren, Emily Grace Ross, Lucas Tyler Ross, and Levi Allen Ross; one sister, Lynette Shouse; one brother, Ivan Ballard (Jeanene); a sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Gentry; and a brother-in-law, Herman Smith (Sheila). Ida also leaves behind a host of Nieces & Nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ida was preceded in death by seven brothers, Shelby, Lonnie, Charlie, Bev, Daniel Breck, Merrill, and Wayne Ballard; and three sisters, Nova Wieleba, Armilda Cline and Lillie Tate.
Funeral Services were conducted at 1 p.m., Friday, August 2, 2024, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond. Burial followed in the Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation was after 11 a.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Tyler Ross, Greg Ross, Lewis Alcorn, Jamey Smith, Monte Ballard, Jeff Tate, and Mike Tate.
Honorary pallbearers were Ivan Ballard, Herman Smith, Tommy Smith, Michael Smith, Scott Shouse, Jim Ballard, and Bill Ballard.
Ida will be greatly missed by the family she loved so much and we love her.

Beverly Jean Thompson, age 93, of Ravenna, Kentucky, departed this life on Sunday, July 28, 2024, in London, Kentucky at the Laurel Heights Senior Care Facility.
Born on March 28, 1931, in Irvine, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Ezart Francis and Cloria Mae Brandenburg Ashcraft.
Along with her parents Mrs. Thompson is preceded in death by her husband, William Cody Thompson; a sister, Candace Ashcraft; two brothers, Earl Franklin and Francis Marion Ashcraft; one grandson, Brandon Coe Thompson; one great granddaughter, Melia Azariah Boddy; and two sisters in laws, Joyce and Delores Ashcraft.
Beverly was the retired former mayor of Ravenna, past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star 357, member of the White Shrine, a board member of the Estill County Health Department, former member of the Ravenna City Council, an artist and a published author writing articles for the Citizens Voice and Times and Kentucky Explorer as well as a member of the Irvine First Christian Church.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by three sons, William Cody Thompson Jr. (Cheryl), Francis Britton Thompson (Karen), and Frank Bryan Thompson (Kathy); eight grandchildren, F. Bryan Thompson IV, Brent Thompson, Amy Fowler, Kelly Thompson, Kristin Jones, Ashley Cheuvrent, Suzanne Tripodo, and Brittney Corbett; 20 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild; and a Lifelong Friend, Barbara Lisle
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the Irvine First Christian Church. Brother Matt Higle will be officiating. The family will greet friends from 12 Noon until the time of the services at 2 p.m. at the church.

Dorothy M. Sparks Stamper, age 85, of South Lebanon, Ohio, passed peacefully Saturday, July 27, 2024 with her family by her side.
Born July 14, 1939 in Estill County, Kentucky, Dorothy was the daughter of John Wade and Lucy Cox Sparks and was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother.
She was a homemaker who immensely loved her grandkids and family, gardening, and was always rescuing an animal and nursing it back to health.
Mrs. Stamper was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 67 years, Buell Howard Stamper; and brothers, Richard Sparks (Daisy) and infant Steven Sparks.
Dorothy leaves behind her loving daughters, Nancy Helen Bee, Jennifer Colwell (Tim) and Sherry Denise Center (Jason); a sister, Lucille Moore; grandchildren, Sarah York, Adam Colwell, Lauren Hatfield, Audrey McClure and Jared Center; great grandchildren, Lyla, Brynna, Greyson, Madison, Vivienne, Evelyn, Chase, Haylee, Chloe, Mia, Scarlet and Jaxson; and many other family members, friends and neighbors.
The family received friends on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12 Noon, all at the First Baptist Church of South Lebanon. Pastor Jeremiah Camarata officiated. Interment followed in the Deerfield Cemetery, South Lebanon.

Marcus Howard Haggard, age 48, of Ravenna, Kentucky passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024, in Winchester, Kentucky.
He was born on August 3, 1975, in Winchester, Kentucky to the late Jessie H. Haggard and Linda Marie Brock McVey.
Along with Mr. Haggard's parents, he is preceded in death by his stepfather, Earl Wayne McVey.
Survivors include four siblings, Tina Marie (Jeff) Case and Ashley Newkirk, Logan Newkirk and Nikie Campbell and Chad Newkirk, Lora (Patrick) Harrison, Trinity, Matthew and Steven, Robert Gene (Lenora) and Jessie Haggard, and Earl McVey Jr.; also Marcus’s ex-wife, Joyce Baber; and a very special friend, Cherie Christopher; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends to miss him and to mourn his passing.
A memorial service will be held for Marcus at Lewis Home for Funerals on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 12 Noon. Billie Rogers will be officiating.

Calvin McDaniel, age 68, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at his home in Stanton, Kentucky. He was born in Campton, Kentucky, on July 20, 1956, to the late Billy McDaniel and the late Viola Ashley McDaniel.
Calvin was known for his diligent work ethic and his love for the outdoors. He found joy in swimming, tending his garden, and fishing. Calvin had a friendly and cheerful nature that made him a delight to be around. His quick wit and ability for telling jokes always brought laughter and a sense of warmth to any gathering.
In addition to his parents, Calvin was preceded in death by his first wife, Lavonna Lee McDaniel.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Joyce McDaniel of Stanton; one son, Terry McDaniel (Amy) of Stanton; one daughter, Misty Bailey (Robbie) of Stanton; three step-sons, Danny Yeary, Collin Martin, both of Nada, and Brian Martin of Stanton; two step-daughters, Ashley Martin of Stanton and Rebecca Martin (Eli Jackson) of Clay City; one special son, Bruce Townsend (Courtney) of Middletown, Ohio; two grandchildren, Trevor Jones and Nathaniel Mays; several step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m., on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services officiated by Bro. George Sparks will be held at the funeral home at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2024.

Betty L. Voils, 82, widow of Herman Voils, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024 at her home.
She was born November 1, 1941 in Stanton, Kentucky, to the late Harlan and Elizabeth Moore Elkins.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Sue Clemmons (Joe); a sister, Faye Ewen; a granddaughter, Melissa Clemmons; great grandchildren, Christopher Parks and Grant Heidemann; and a great, great grandson, Gunnera Parks.
Services will be held Sunday, August 11, 2024, 2 p.m., at Wells Funeral Home by Rev. Anthony Molihan. Visitation will be held Sunday 1-2 p.m. Burial is in Resthaven Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers.

Christine “Dude” Wells, age 92, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at her home in Clay City, Kentucky.
She was born in Clay City, on January 29, 1932, to the late Sarah Ann Crowe.
Dude was a dedicated and devoted member of Vaughn’s Mill First Church of God, where she lived out her faith in a sincere and heartfelt way. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and she held her grandsons and great grandchildren in a special and cherished place in her heart.
In Dude’s leisure time, she found joy in the art of quilting, the creative expression of coloring, and the relaxation of solving word searches.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her foster parents, Robert and Flossie Crowe; her husband, Harley Wells; her son, Michael Wells; two foster brothers, Kenneth Crowe and Eunice Crowe; and two foster sisters, Polly Davis and Lucy Ann Crowe.
Dude is survived by two daughters, Sherry Hicks (Bob “Birdman”) of Clay City and Shell Shepherd (Jesse) of Irvine; two grandchildren, Ross Pary Hicks and Jesse Ray Shepherd, Jr.; and three great grandchildren, Jonathan Ross Hicks, Colten Harley Hicks, and Alexander Pary Hicks.
Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Ted Linkous, will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 11, 2024.

Judy Kay McClure, age 70, wife of Bill McClure, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024.
She was born June 22, 1954 in Clay City, Kentucky, to the late Montford Hall and the late Roberta Wells Handy.
Survivors include her husband, Bill McClure; three sons, David McClure, Brian McClure, and Jackie McClure; a daughter, Patricia Seabolt (Darryl); a brother, Nelson Hall; a sister, Charlotte Stamper; grandchildren, Brandon (Emily) Caldwell, Travis Caldwell, Hunter Seabolt, Brianna (Kyran) Barnes, Devan McClure, Braxton Watkins, Josie McClure, and Wyatt McClure; and great grandchildren, Benton Barnes and Truett Barnes.

Lorena Ruth McClure Fugate, age 87, widow of Jerry Fugate, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024 in Clay City, Kentucky.
She was born December 19, 1936 in Winchester, Kentucky, to the late Otis and Learline Birkheimer McClure. Lorena was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to all she knew.
Survivors include a son, Bubby Fugate (Billie Ann); two brothers, Bill McClure and Wayne McClure; two sisters, Dorothy Brewer and Freda Hamilton; grandchildren, Michelle Berry, Zachary Fugate, Jeremy Fugate, John Feather, Sammy Fugate, and Dillon Fugate; numerous great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; a son, Samuel Marion Fugate; a daughter, Bonnie Katherine Feather; and three brothers, JD McClure, Barney McClure, and Jackie Thacker.
Services will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024, 1 p.m., at Full Gospel Lighthouse Church, 187 5th Ave, Clay City, KY 40312. Visitation will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., at the church.

Bobby Lee Osman, age 85, widower of Maxine Carol Osman, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024 at University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington.
He was born January 18, 1939 in Manchester, Ohio to the late Orval and Opal Plummer Osman.
Survivors include, daughters, Sarah and Robin; son, Mark Osman, Troy, Ohio; step-son, Larry Back; step-daughter, Deborah Back; sisters, Diana Kain, Trinity, Alabama; Linda Lovejoy and Sharon Womacks, both of Manchester, Ohio; special grandson, Marshall Osman; six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Maxine Osman; a grandson, Austin Osman; a step-son, James Back; brothers, William Osman and Dale Osman; and sister, Marilyn Hilderbrand.
Services will be held Monday, August 12, 2024, 1 p.m., at Wells Funeral Home by Bro. Dale Payne. Visitation will be on Monday after 11 a.m. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery, Stanton.

Dorlene Welch Kennon, age 90, of Winchester, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Dorlene was the daughter of the late Price Welch and Ruby Brown Puckett.
She is survived by her son, Frank Kennon and stepson Bill Kennon; two brothers, Ronald Welch and Larry Puckett; a sister, Barbara Raney (Steve), four grandchildren, Daniel Kennon, Joe Kennon, Lindsey Clem and Amy Hauser; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Kennon was preceded in death by her husband, William Frank Kennon; a daughter, Sherry Kennon; a son, Tony P. Kennon; three brothers, Arthur Welch, William “Bucky” Welch and Terry Welch; and three sisters, June Kratzer, Janice Sue Welch and Ruby Joyce Puckett.
Visitation will be held at Scobee Funeral Home’s Leon Pace Memorial Chapel in Winchester, on Wednesday August 7, 2024 for family, 11:30 a.m. - 12 Noon; open visitation, 12-2 p.m., with service to follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Ryan Dotson presiding. Burial will be in the Kennon Cemetery, Powell County.

Wilma Powell, a beloved mother and mamaw, departed this life on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the age of 89 years and 10 days.
Known for her generous heart and unwavering dedication to helping others, she leaves behind a legacy of kindness and love. She was a member of Torrent First Church of God. Wilma had a passion for making candy, creating sweet treats that brought joy to many. Her family and grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She was not only a nurturing presence in the kitchen, renowned for her delicious cooking, but also a force to reckon with as a Rook player, who did not take being defeated as an option against any opponent. As generous and warm as Wilma was, she was also strong and resilient, facing any obstacle with great integrity. Her warmth, generosity, and competitive spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Wilma was preceded in death by her father, Edward Cable and mother, Dora Stamper Cable, 12 siblings; one daughter-in-law, Shirl Powell; and one granddaughter-in-law, Rebecca Hogan.
She is survived by her four children, Kathy Watkins, Terry Powell both of Leeco; Jackie Shuler (Walt) of Ravenna, and Patty Baker (Scott) of Williamstown; five grandchildren, Angie Ross of Clay City, Jessica Peercy (Scott) of Lexington, Eric Powell of Leeco, Catherine Bellamy of Vancouver, Canada; and Matthew Bellamy of Williamstown; seven great grandchildren and seven great, great grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Services will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2024, 2 p.m., Torrent First Church of God, 1350 HWY 11 N, Torrent, KY 41301. Visitation Tuesday, August 6th, 6-9 p.m., at Wells Funeral Home, Stanton. Pallbearers serving, Eric Powell, Casey Peercy, Jason Ross, Brandon Hogan, Eddie Ross, and Scott Peercy.
Honorary pallbearers serving, Matthew Bellamy, Catherine Bellamy, Walter Shuler, Scott Baker, and AJ Banks.
