Bonnie F. Whisman, 82

Bonnie F. Whisman

Bonnie F. Whisman, 82, wife of Elmer Whisman, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born November 11, 1941 in Lee County, Kentucky to the late Walter and Juanita Cable Combs. Bonnie was a member of the Stanton First Church of God. A true exemplar of the Proverbs 31 woman, she did not eat the bread of idleness. Strength and honor were her clothing, and the law of kindness was on her tongue. Inside her was a heart that beat with compassion and generosity.
She loved her family and served them day and night. Beyond that, she was a grandmother to many who were no relation to her by blood but with whom, like the good Samaritan of Jesus’ parable, she found the great kinship of neighborliness. Only heaven knows the true quantity of food that she has cooked to deliver to the homes of those suffering. She has ministered the love of God as she has lived this life, and now she has finished her race. Our entire community feels the loss of this godly woman who now rests with Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer Whisman; a son, Tony Whisman (Sherri); a daughter, Kim Whisman; a brother, James Combs; two sisters, Ada Willis and Kathryn Creech; grandchildren, Christina Pitts (Chris), Matthew Whisman (Janet), Walter Whisman (Shelby), and Alec Whisman; and great grandchildren, Kennedy Costa, Asher Whisman, Ryan Whisman, Lincoln Whisman, and Cooper Whisman.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; a beloved son, Ronnie Whisman; a brother, Rondle Combs; and sister, Betty Bush.
